Summer..........means busy and garden produce!

Good morning sweet ladies,

Sometimes when I am working in my garden or just on a walk to check up on things, my heart is sooo over whelmed with thankfulness. I take time to tell my Father so. It is that sweet communion with Him........I am sure you know what I am talking about. Just plain sweetness. I peeked at the potatoes again. You know the little ones that you can take and they taste so tender. All the hard work you put into your garden in the spring, is starting to pay off. God.......again in His provisions for us........to feed our families, to see His creation. One word for it..........AMAZING

Fresh Homegrown Potatoes................

worth getting the ground ready for........cutting each seed potato up....give it a day to season........
planting each potato in a straight row.

I sat on the ground........digging ever so gently with my hands, as to not disturb the roots that has lots of tiny baby potoaoes......

Thanking God that He can take a seed potato and give
me not one..........but many more potatoes.
Only He can do that.
All I have to do is plant, and water.........

He does the rest!

As I was sitting I looked over in the straw........and saw this.

enlarge picture by clicking on it.....the detail is beautiful!

again.......only Him

I guess we can see that He loves us very much!

Hugs from my farm........still know rain........praying for those who need it..........He knows who we are.

Keeping my eyes on Him and not my circumstances....

He is in the details of our lives,

Linda

Fifth Building Our Homes Together with Jesus

Good morning sweet ladies,

Sorry, I was fighting the photo's again. I kept praying and also praying for all the ladies that were wanting to link up. I think we need to do that every Wednesday........it seems we may have a battle on our hands, if you know what I mean.

I can't believe this is our Fifth Building Our Homes Together with Jesus!!!!! It has been such a blessing each week to come over to each blog that has linked up and to also read the comments on my post.

Each week I get a little more excited than the last. Today as I think of just what this means to me I am seeing that Jesus is becoming the Master Weaver of something very very special. We may be small in number, but He always works with a remnant. Women all over the world are coming together to encourage and build one another up in works of kindness as they serve their families and the world. All from our HOMES. Yes!!!!!! I have been so encouraged personally. Thank you to each one that has become a part of this, even if you don't every link up. I know you are reading and that is what is so wonderful.

Is this not the most precious site?

As many of you who follow me remember........sometime back a sweet blogger friend, Sherry was sharing with, about how she had an idea? She was calling it Purses with Promises. The "promises" was the Word of God. She was asking the Lord for 100 purses that she and her husband could fill with 100 New Testaments.
God has taken one month and they have 85.........she is not stopping collecting purses though.  This is her mission and so she will continue to collect what ever the Lord has for her.

If you remember I wanted to do something........but I didn't know what I could do with limited funds. The idea came by a few circumstances and the Lord gave me the idea to have ladies help

make the Tea Cozies (along my side bar is a free download). Ladies started contacting me and I am not sure how many total we have, but ladies are still busy and are working with their little hands stitching them up. If you are interested in Purses with Promises please contact me (my email is up on my sidebar at top right hand side of my blog). Put Purses for Joplin in subject please.

This Friday (please pray for Sherry and Jim) they will be leaving and driving their car with 85 purses (the count today) to Joplin!!!!!!! Talk about exciting. (Me jumping in 123 purses) as of noon today. My heart if full. Momma's, Grandmothers, Single Woman have been working together. The women in Joplin have nothing.........and I mean nothing. They will be touched I am sure to think when they pick out their purse, that ladies across America and even France  thought enough about them to make them feel special. They will walk away with a purse on their arm. Carring inside the Word of God. If they do not know Him.......may we please pray they will meet the Most Precious Man that ever walked the EARTH! If they already know HIM personally, they will have a Bible again.......precious thing!!!!!!! Start praying now for traveling mercies for Sherry and Jim.........and may the God of Heavens do what He does best!!!!!!!!! Remember He always uses Us to accomplish sweet things in His Son's Name...........JESUS

I am jumping in. Just talked with Sherry this morning.
This is sweet news!!! Sherry had to have surgery last Monday. Can't go into it, but she needs prayer please.....God knows what her needs are. Anyway she said that she was laying on the table and the nurse started talking to her to get her mind off of things. She asked Sherry, "What did you do this week?" Sherry started telling her about Purses with Promises and how ladies had been giving her purses and making little tea cozies. The lady loved what she was saying and said....."please come back tomorrow and I will give you some." She did and Sherry picked up 31 purses with jewelry in the inside!!!!!!!! Lots of jewelry! Ladies are going to have some in every purse!!!!!! In the background in the hospital room, a man in a deep voice said, "Your husband represented this well on Sunday", it was so funny, because the man was a part of Jim's Sunday School class. You never know when you talk who might be listening.  On Sunday a lady asked her to come and pick up purses at her house. Sherry didn't have a lot of time to do this or visit, but as she talked the lady who was in her 70's talked about her deceased husband. Sherry said that both walked away refreshed. God thing! Another single Momma had only one purse that she wanted to give. Sherry went to pick it up and the Momma apologized for just having one. Sherry told her that ONE lady needed ONE......if she didn't give the purse, lady wouldn't get one. She talked to her about the widow's mite  and the little boy with the fish and loaves of bread. I am sure when Sherry walked away.......that Momma had a different perspective on things. Precious! Ladies touching ladies lives!
Another lady had only two purses, but also had a stack of devotionals from her pastor Chuck Swindoll......is that not the sweetest, plus Streams In The Dessert (one of my favorites for life living), plus a beautiful leather covered Scofield Study Bible, brand new!

Another Momma gave some purses and her little girl had three to give. Her Momma said......"they are only for older women",  the little daughter insisted that they had LITTLE GIRLS! I can see that little girl going into her room.....gathering her treasure and bring it to her Momma. Training time going on! Just a few little stories to encourage your heart. It did mine. This is bigger ladies than what I thought. If you want to be a part. Please keep giving if you have something, thank you! 8000 homes were destroyed. Praying for 8000 purses!!!!!!!

Okay ladies, start linking up with your posts!!!!! Can't wait to see who comes!!!!!!! We will come and visit and see what the Lord is doing in your life!

Have Nice A Day!

Good morning sweet ladies,

It is going to be a busy day today.........working on an ad for The Girlhood Home Companion, finishing up the apron pattern and working on orders. This is the shortest post I am sure I have ever had.

Last night was a special night for those who are in the West  Northern Texas. As I was talking to Susan from Sunflowers and Pumpkins (she has a new blog.....welcome her if you like) she got all excited and said that she heard thunder.......that means rain is coming. It did. Not sure how much, but they did get rain. We have been praying for rain in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. I looked this morning on radar and it looks like Prairie Maid might be getting some also. I sure hope so. The land is parched for sure. Our area in Kansas needs rain so bad. Please keep praying. For the next few days we are going to be over 100 degrees. Sad to watch the crops suffer. My trust is IN the LORD. I will keep my eyes on HIM and HIM alone, even when it all looks bad around me. I ask that He would strengthen me to do that......I sure can't on my own.

I want to leave this story in scripture with you. I was listening and reading Acts 3: 1-26 this morning. This story made me think about Susan saying she was going to dance in the street if it rained Wonder if she did? They are grateful I am sure........the Lord heard our prayers and He answered by giving them rain. Praise Him!

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. And a man who had been lame from his mother's womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down everyday at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms. But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, "Look at us!" And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene-walk!" And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with the, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God; and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to get alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called portico of Solomon, full of amazement. But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our father, has glorified His servant Jesus, the ONE whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he and decided to release Him. But you disowned the Holy and Righteous ONe and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.......
Acts 3 1-16. If you have time read all of Acts 3. It will bless you.

Here is a commentary from Bible Gateway, if you would like to read. This story has always been so precious to me. I love what the Lord does and is doing for people today.

Ladies please don't forget that tomorrow it is our
Fifth Building Our Homes Together with Jesus. Can't wait to hear what He is doing in your Homes..........it may be simple and that is fine.

Be ready to link up, so we can see what you have been doing. You can post about anything that the Lord is doing in your HOME.
Your walk with HIM, what He is teaching you, scripture you are memorizing,  maybe you are doing some decorating, organizing tips, canning, preparing your HOME for winter.

Hugs from my farm to your HOME,
Linda

Happy Monday........hugs to you~

Hello sweet ladies,
I didn't get anything put up yesterday afternoon.............our family was invited out to dinner. YES!!!!!!! Love it when we are invited somewhere!  My was it nummy. Homemade pizza and fried ice cream. Sorry I didn't get a pic of the pizza, but this is what it looks like.

Here is the recipe........easy easy easy!

Alicia's Margherita Pizza
Make your own pizza dough or store bought
Press pizza out in a pizza pan
Drizzle top with olive oil.
Place sliced tomatoes all over the top.
Slice fresh basil in small strips and sprinkle over tomatoes.
Cut fresh mozzarella cheese slices and place on top of pizza.
If I were to make it I would shake parmesan cheese on the top before cooking and add to top after cooking also. We like parmesan cheese, a lot in our home.

Bake 450 for 10 -12 minutes or until done.

Serve with salad and you have a meal. Now think of someone to have to your HOME!

For dessert Alicia made Fried Ice cream. Oh my was it delissssshhhhh! Wished you could have been there!

Alicia used her scripture plates.........always makes me feel special!Love the star shine on the spoon.......sweetness!

1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 flour tortillas
1/2 tea. ground cinnmon
2 tlb. sugar
1/4 cup cornflake crumbs
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
whipped cream
2 maraschino cherries, with stems
Click above on the name and you will get the rest of the recipe.

Now for the wedding pic's, again they are not very good, but it will give you the sweetness I want you to see.

We have been learning a lot in our church about Jesus being the Bride Groom and the Church being the Bride. It has been giving our family more insight on weddings. As I sat there with my honey next to me I was reminded of our wedding day........we have grown in our faith since that day for which we are both very thankful. Every time we are at a wedding we think of our commitment we made that day on August 16th. If it were not for Christ no telling where we would be today. He is our everything and we want to please only Him now.

When Cecil the groom was standing up front and turned to look at Dee for the first time.......in all her beauty (she said he had never seen her really dressed up with makeup and such). Everyone could hear Cecil gasp. And I mean gasped. The breath was knocked out of him. Precious moment.

He saw her.......... emotion definitely touched his heart. What a beautiful picture. One day the Lord will look at the Body of Christ....the Church. What a precious day that will be.

Cecil saw beauty like never before!

Precious!!!!!!!

Now we will pray for
Dee and Cecil that the Lord would guide them into all truth. We are so excited to see what the Lord has for them. Praying for children........for they are a blessing from the Lord. Our family was so excited to be witnesses on this special day.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Hugs from my farm to your Home,
Linda

P.S. Talked to Sherry yesterday. She was the one with the Purses with Promises. They have 85 purses so far. She will be taking a picture for me to show you. I will do a post about what the Lord is doing. If anyone is still interested in sending purses or making tea cozies please leave me an email with Purses for joplin. My email is at top right on my side bar. We want to continue on with this. Their are many ladies on our country that have lost everything. Sherry and her husband Jim will be taking the first load to Joplin this weekend. How precious to think of each lady opening her purse with a beautiful turquoise Bible in the inside. Jesus Name will be honored that day. Simple acts of kindness from Homes across America! Blesses my heart!
Also Sherry talked to the lady that is helping with the distribution. She said that sheets and towels are needed. Not clothes ( I will explain later). So anyone that follows my blog and wants to help please write and I will help you get in touch. Thanks for all you are doing.

Good morning..........it is Sonday!

Hello sweet ladies,

Talk about a busy last few days. We were up yesterday morning at 6:00 cooking in the college cafe for a Wedding. It was so much fun to see Dee and Cecil get married. I will post about it later today. It was so beautiful. Always reminds me as I sit there about being a Bride of Jesus Christ. A wonderful realization that one day.........I will be with Him.......for forever. The pic's didn't turn out so well, but this one stood out to me.

I am sorry the pic isn't better...........this spoke volumes to me as the Bride and Groom took communion together. They invited Jesus. What more could you want at a wedding?

We watched Cecil's face.............the Groom was presented with his
Bride...........his face said it all.

One day God the Father will present His Church sometimes referred to as the Bride of Christ to His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bride being made up of all who have accepted His Son personally.

I can only imagine Jesus' Face. when He sees His Bride.

Blessings sweet ladies..............imagine.......today could be the day that Jesus will come and receive His Bride. What a special day that will be.

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the Glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His Bride has made herself ready." It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Revelation 19:7-8

May our sweet God Bless Your Day~

Refreshed!

Good morning sweetie ladies!!!!! Oh my thank you so for hanging in there with me. What a week. But I ammmm...........refreshed.....well I have to say I was really refreshed until......... you know how some love to wake up to a fresh cup of coffee or tea? Well.......my thing is a nice cold cold cup of milk. Soooooo, this morning being no different than any other day.......I poured my milk in my favorite red cup.........and I started drinking....... like I always do.....only to realize that the milk was  sour. UGH! Made me smile though. That was a "piece a cake" to what the beginning of the week was like!!!!!! Smile. I know some like sour milk........not me.....it is nasty and the after taste stays with!

Praying that everyone out there is having a good week!

This morning I looked up the word refreshed.........I was sooooo refreshed yesterday.........very nice. I hardly did a thing ........worked on orders as we drove to Hutch. Honey had an appointment with a farm agency. Tay also went with, she needed a little break also. We hardly leave the house it seems......which I love, but the day was so pretty and the drive was quiet. For those who have asked, Taylor will have to go to a physical therapist. The Lord is providing someone we know. Blessing!  We also picked up some crutches for her so she can get around on her own. She has felt quite dependent on others. We don't mind a bit lovin on her!

I have a bit of news that some have asked. The Purses for Promises for Joplin is doing very well. God is moving in the lives of many ladies across America and even in France. I have been receiving tea cozies and I want to thank each of you who have given. Some are even sending money to help add extras to the inside of the purse.......sweet! One friend called and said she and her husband were having so much fun buying little manicure sets........now I would have never thought of that! Doesn't the body work so well together?

When we got home after being in Hutch we stopped at the end of the drive to pick up our mail...........inside was a package, from my sweet friend who lives in France.....Sandra..........BEAUTIMUS. She had a tea cozy for Joplin and some sweetness for me. You know the Lord's timing is so precious. I opened each wrapped piece. She had made a journal.......it is now my prayer journal (I am recording your names who ask for prayer in it), a hand stitched sachet........the work was incredible (so detailed) and some beautiful packages of tea.........now how did the Lord and Sandra know I could use some major encouragement yesterday? The Lord is so faithful and He always uses friends it seems. Thank you Sandra.......you were so sweet to think of me!

Aren't the colors unreal. Loved all the different colored beets!

Later in the day we went to our friends house to pick up their rototiller. We left with our hearts and hands full. I went to bed last night blessed. Thank you for all who left comments.......you were a breathe of fresh air!

Report on Ellianna.........thank you for praying. As many of you know she had surgery again on Wednesday to get a new final shunt put in. Here is a update from Hannah. I thought it would be easier to put this up for those who want to read. God is there for this precious family!!!

Yesterday as Ellianna was getting ready for surgery, her doctors became increasingly concerned about her blood work.  Her electrolytes sky-rocketed since being admitted last Thursday, and were high enough that they could cause serious problems with her heart.  They were worried that she has an underlying condition causing this, separate from her brain issues.  They checked an EKG of her heart right before surgery to make sure she was stable enough to tolerate being put to sleep.  It looked fine...

Surgery went very well and her doctor came out beaming, pleased with the outcome.  Her head pressure could go down really rapidly now.  We were handed a little bag with a clump of her hair they shaved...she has an incision on the back of her head and another in the center of her belly.  Poor little thing is swollen all over.

We were moved from the pediatric floor into the PICU so they could keep a closer watch on her.  Morphine, Tylenol, and Motrin seemed to slightly dull her discomfort.  We answered a barrage of questions from the intensive care doctor... I left feeling like they doubted our capabilities as parents.  They drew labs one more time to see if anything had changed and then were going to consult with other doctors to see if they could figure out what was going on.

I reluctantly left my baby's side to pick up the other kids and spend the night at home.  I could tell Mark was worried and needed to be with her for awhile.  He texted me later and said the results were back and they showed all levels were NORMAL!  This was astounding to us.  They checked them again this morning and everything still looked perfectly normal.  Not sure what happened...either there was a mix-up, or God gave us one of those miracles we have been praying for.  Either way, it is nice to be able to breathe out.

Ellianna is drowsy today, but wakes up every few minutes seeming to be in pain. Everything looks stable though and she is starting to eat again.  We will hopefully be moved back to the regular pediatric floor today and hope her discharge will be soon.

Thanks to everyone who is supporting  us...in thoughts, prayer, meals, time off from work, and helping out with the other kids.  We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful army of friends and family holding us up.

Wow, I know this is long......but thought I should answer some of the questions you all have had. If you want to leave a prayer for Ellianna.......her Momma and Daddy read them all. Thank you again for your sweetness!

God bless your day.........I was going to report on our Vitaliy, but Tonya (his adopted momma to be)  just called and exciting things are happening fast. I will have to tell about that tomorrow. Today is a huge day, so please pray that the Lord would have the Kansas background check in the mail very soon. Yesterday was our Vitaliy's 13th birthday......so excited to celebrate next year with him here. We have had to just wait and wait for papers to get back. That is the hardest thing we have heard about adopting a child. When things finally cut loose.......you have to move fast. Our Tonya may have to drive to Topeka today......please pray for her safety.

I can't thank you precious ladies enough for all that you have done for our family!!!! Thank you again for the prayers going up for our Tay and Ellie! I am praying for you!

Hugs from my farm to your HOME!

There Is Not Enough Of Me!!!!

Hello sweet ladies,

I am tired..........worn out.......taking a mini break today! With all that has been going on with my daughter Tay and the horse accident......her "stuck to the couch"......smile........Momma, Momma, Momma.......need I say more? My granddaughter Ellie who's horse died this last weekend staying two days and left yesterday........only to get an email, "I miss you already.......can we (her brother) come Friday and stay the night?" Music to my ears!

Until then.............

I am doing this for my front porch........so beautiful!

I am going to dream today......... that I am sitting on this.......

Disclaimer.......I have hurt someone by having this picture of the flag not being displayed properly. I am sorry and did not think it through that I would actually sit on the flag. I would not.  I agree with the someone. I just liked the way this picture looked. Sorry if I offend anyone else. That is not my intension.

I won't be........but I can
DREAM!

I read this morning somewhere this question,
What will you do for the 4th?

In Sterling the little town we live by, they have an Old fashioned 4th. It has been going on for ever!!! They have turtle races, which we already have 3 that our grandson is feeding everyday so each child will be using. They have fireworks along the side of the lake which is the most beautiful site. When you are sitting watching and hearing the National Anthem....... you are proud to be an AMERICAN! Does something to the heart!

I have not said much about my fabric that I designed, The Americana Collections. Only one piece was accepted out of 14 different pieces. It was sad, but God is in control. We dedicate every collection to HIM, so we have peace. I have been waiting on the order to come in the mail. I will be selling it. It won't be here before the 4th......but so many are Americana people year round, so it will be for those who like that look. As soon as I get it, I will be putting it up in the store! It really turned out sweet, was hard getting it. It is now on it's way.

Until tomorrow........I am taking it easy. I am still working on the Apron pattern. I am so sorry.........it isn't finished.......life has been "happenin".........I know you understand this well.

Leave an answer to my question if you would like.......and if you have NEVER left a comment.......please do so today.......I would love to meet you. I have so many that come everyday....it would be fun to say hello!

Welcome new followers.........I have noticed you and tried to come to your blog.......so many don't have one, but I have noticed.

Hugs precious ladies..........you are precious in HIS SIGHT!

Our Fourth Building Our Homes Together....With Jesus

Hello Sweet Ladies,

For some reason I can not post any of my pictures......I have tried and tried.......not happening now, I will try later.
Tried later........it worked.

Well, this has been one of those weeks, feels like what some call drama.......I call it Building A Home! You know the kind where you feel like the wind has been knocked out of you? Yesterday when I was sitting with my friend Mary and what is now etched in my mind of Tay and Juneau (who is a big quarter horse....... the one that is caring the little colt in her tummy for Ellie) went down together. My heart I am sure stopped.  When I got to Tay she had dirt in her mouth and was as white as could be. I started praying over her. My first sign to myself, that I was establishing that I wanted the God of the Universe to be a part of our situation. I was praying for a covering over Tay for protection. From then on the day was consumed with needs........a Granddaughter who was mourning over the loss of her horse and Tay who couldn't walk...... it was busy. For those who prayed for us yesterday........ thank you so much. Tay's leg is swollen, but not huge......... we are thankful. She is going to have a large bruise going down her leg where Juneau landed and pressed her leg against the ground. She is a cowgirl thru and thru......she will be back on a horse as soon as her Daddy will let her.......smile.

Building a Home in everyday life........living for Jesus.....with our everthing!

I had a picture for here with the scripture,

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Psalm 36:5

As I meditate this morning on the Lord's goodness to our family this last week I am consumed by His compassions. Thankful "they are new every morning." When we know His Word.......we can draw on it in times of trouble.  He spared Tay big time. I can't even imagine what could have happened....... I am so grateful that it didn't. Thank you seems so simple to tell Him, so glad He knows my Momma heart. Thank you for all the prayers and for those who got the need out to ladies. It was appreciated. Taylor didn't feel like reading them, but I will read the prayers and thoughts from yesterdays post.

As the sun was going down last night the sky lit up. Every cloud across the sky was a beautiful red. I took Ellie out so we could see His handiworks. It gave rest to my soul. I needed it after a long day of care. You mommas know what I am talking about! When there is one that needs your undivided attention..........that attention takes over life!

I was building a Home yesterday as everyday.........but I was reminded this morning that I want to continue to live out my life for the Lord.

P.S. We just got news that the rain we prayed for in the southern part of Texas? Well...... Camille just wrote and said it has been raining 2 hours!!!!! YEA!!!!!! Thank you Jesus. Now ladies, Oklahoma still needs it and so does Amarillo Texas. Keep praying. Thank you!

Also pray for little Ellianna and her surgery tomorrow. Again thank you so much!

Thank you ladies for joining up to
Building Our Homes Together........with Jesus. I love
your posts and what God is doing with all of us
as we strive to live for Him and giving Him our Homes.

Love from my Home to your HOME!

Linda

Ellie and I baked cookies last night. She was so cute.......as we started she said, "we have to get the camera"........that's my girl! She will record her memories for her family someday.........blessed this Grammies heart.........they watch everything we do ladies. What path are we taking them on?

We will put the pic's up when we can and give the recipe.
Lemon Sandwich Cookies..........very very NUM!

Please leave prayer requests if you need them!!!!!!
