The Fence

Hello sweet ladies,

I have been running alllllll over this farm. I get to working here and then I get to working there......oh my, talk about fun! I am making use of every minute! Lots lots has been going on! Busy as a bee I feel......and when I go to bed......I crash!

Two days ago Vitaliy and I started working on the Milk House fence.......cute cute cute!!!!! We like it a lot.

We started on one side. It went really fast after we got the routine down.

We finished it yesterday! Looks pretty doesn't it? We have plans for the front of it......I will show later! V has enjoyed being able to see something accomplished. He has taken pride in his work and now he has a new trade! He loves to work and works hard.

My daughter made me a chocolate cake..........so nummy!

Her is our recipe.

Our Favorite Chocolate Cake
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tea. soda
2 sticks butter (a must)
4 T. cocoa
1 cu. cold water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Hershey Chocolate Frosting
1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
5 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pound of powdered sugar
opt. 1 c. nuts
Sift flour and sugar together in large mixing bowl. In a saucepan, bring to boil the butter, cocoa and cold water; pour over flour and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and pour into a large rimmed cookie sheet; 10” x 15”. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Last 5 minutes of cake baking time, make icing. In saucepan, bring butter, cocoa and milk to boil. Add vanilla, powdered sugar and nuts. Frost over cooled cake. A must: You need a cold cold glass of milk. Num! From the kitchen of Prairie Flower Farm

I have been busy in the garden......today I will be planting my sweet potatoes. Everything has been so wet......it has dried out a bit so I will just go ahead and get them in the ground.

Hope all is going well with you and yours.

Blessings to your day,

Linda

  5. So busy! I wish I had such wonderful helpers! Nice fence but I know lots of hard work too! But we are too broke to do much of anything! I am trying to budget to go spend a couple hours with my sister Mary. She is two hours from me! She needs a pacemaker and that will happen this week. Hit me really hard. But I am praying and lots of others already joined in so I know God will hold her in His hands. I will send a private message too. Lots of prayer requests, lots of sadness in this world. Blessings, Anne
