Life is Happening at Prairie Flower Farm!

Hello sweets!!!!!

We are enjoying Sweet Pea and all her funny little antidotes! Here she is smiling and then she smelled something she didn't like! She wrinkled up her nose.....looked like she was ready for a kiss! So fun to have her at Prairie Flower Farm!!!!

Sweet Pea met Roo the rooster and followed him allllll over the sheep yard! Roo wasn't so sure of her.

I noticed that little pecks were on the eggs!!!!!!!
It was time to start having babies!!!!!

Baby peeps started hatching......the house is peeping away all the time.

They started fluffin' out when I put them under a warm light.
So so sweet!

Yesterday morning I woke to a little opening to the duck egg! I was hoping that when I got home from church I would see a little duck hatched. It didn't hatch until early this morning (Monday). Go to my fb and see the videos I put up. Sweetness! Go HERE

Here is a picture of Ducky. He will be going to a family that I work with at the college. He still looks a little on the homely side.....but after he fluffs up he will look better. I am calling him a he, but really not sure what it is.

I am putting this post up tonight (Monday). You will get it on Tuesday! Soooooo Good Mornin' this Tuesday!!! Just had to show you my sweet little girl! She gets cuter every day don't you think?! She is growing so fast!

Life in the spring on the farm is one of my favorite times of the year. You know me and life! Watching life happen before my eyes is the most amazing miracle God has given me to see. I love Him so much!

Hugs to your day,

Linda

Sweet Pea.....new baby lamb!

Good morning sweet ladies........all I can say is I have missed you!

If you want to keep up with what is going on at Prairie Flower Farm........please follow me on my fb. I put up short posts. Go here anytime and You can see the happenings at Prairie Flower Farm.

With working in the garden (planting strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, potatoes, rhubarb and

decorating the farm with lots of flowers).......learning at the coffeehouse (learning a lot about the flower arranging) and still working at the college........ I feel like I am barely letting my feet hit the ground!

Living on a farm it is busy and spring is always a busy busy time of year for us. I am sitting here this morning all by myself......me and the Lord. Reflecting on Good Friday.......on what  my Heavenly Father did for me at Calvary..... Jesus came to die in my place if only I would accept the Gift! Thankful He came.

My sweet girl and her sweet man are upstairs......in our home and I am grateful! My family is celebrating Resurrection SONday today! It is the only time allllll of our family can get together. Can't wait to see them all coming up the driveway! I am praying for you and your family also!

Another thing that has kept me busy is allllll of the animals are having or will be have babies. Two sets of kittens!!!!!! 7 total mouse eaters. So precious! Here is a sweet one meeting Denali!

I have two sister hens who are sitting on 20 eggs.......they are due at the end of the month.

But I do have an announcement!!!!!!

You know we have been waiting to see which on of our sheep who are pregnant. Well........Olivia was really showing signs of being pregnant last week!!!!!!!!!

All last Saturday I checked her every half an hour......

the animals were getting anxious (I am sure)......night came and still no baby or babies! She was showing signs of labor so I knew it wasn't but a day or so away!

I got up early last SONday morning......video in hand and we had a new little girl!
You can watch the video here
She was less than an hour old when I saw her for the very first time.

Meet Sweet Pea! I had to get her in the sheep shed because Aspen the year old sheep did not like the new baby!

She was so little! We love her......a lot!!!!!!!!

She is now a week old and very frisky!

She looks so much like her Daddy Birch don't you think?

I love to just sit watching our new little girl! As you can see she is very little and complete adorableness! Now we are waiting on the other two girls to see if we have any more babies coming!

She is so curious! Roo, one of our roosters that roams the farm was in the sheep pen.....it was adorable watching Sweet Pea as she followed him around the pen. Never a dull moment......so now you see why I have been absent! Farm life at it's best.

This coming Monday I will be seeing little opening where the chicks are pecking their way out on these eggs!!! I have 35 chicken eggs and 3 duck eggs. The duck eggs will be ready to hatch the 28th. It will be noisy in our house! I am ready!

Friday when I got home I was moving the little kittens and Kitty (their Momma) outside. Look who I found sitting on eggs. She and I both got scared of each other and she moved from her eggs for a bit, I counted 18 eggs!!!!!! Truly a lot of "life" is going on here at Prairie Flower Farm.

Now you see why it has been busy!

Trust that Your Resurrection SONday is blessed one!

"This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His Name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things."
Luke 24: 46-48

It is true....so grateful!

Blessings,
Linda

A Weeks Worth of Busy!

Hello sweet ladies........

Went to check on the girls this SONday morning. Especially checking Olivia........and......
I have some news.......you are going to like..........

Olivia is going to have a baby or if she does like she always does.....she will have twins. I can't wait!!!!!! Her udder is getting so full so that means anytime. I can't wait and I will be running from the farm house to the sheep pen.......a lot during the day! Life is so fun on a farm in the spring time!

it is cloudy outside and they say 50% chance of rain but no wind and it is beautiful. We have had sprinkles.....but nothing to talk about. I have wanted to wait for some rain to plant some of cool crops....so I have been busy in the house getting things ready all last week. I saved my strawberry corn.

I took the end of a sharp knife and gently pried away the dried kernels. Sweet little seeds that will grow 5 to 6 feet tall. Isn't that so amazing? Love it.....God working all things together!!!!!! I hope to get a good crop and sell them at the coffee house. They make wonderful arrangements. I planted about 8 last year and they did okay. I hope to do better this year!

This last week I couldn't stand it any longer. Every time I have gone into the farm stores I have not found the chicks I wanted.....so I would come home empty handed. Soooooo I started up the incubator! I have 35 chicken eggs and 3 duck eggs. I have been candling them all week and it blesses this Momma's heart every time I see the little veins start forming!!!!!!

The daffodils are starting to bud! What was your first flower that you saw blooming???? I am hearing that there is still snow in the northern parts of the states........sorry!!!!! Yesterday I pinned this adorable picture for all those who have snow......hope it gives a smile!

Pinned this HERE isn't this adorable????????

I am thankful we don't have snow......but that doesn't mean it still can't happen! I am still working out in the garden!!!!!!

We worked all last week and got all the ground we used last year roto-tilled. Then we opened up some new ground. I am putting a border of raspberries and rhubarb (I spit my old patch up, it is time, it's 3 years old).  I want to separate the different parts of the garden this year. It looks pretty in my mind.....we will see how it turns out.

Well that tells a little about my week......busy, but a fun busy! Today after church I will be out in the garden......it is my rest and quiet time! Trust you are all doing well. Praying for your SONday!

Please continue to pray for our country and the world. V was out at the farm this last week and walked in the door. He said, "Grammy......where is the hammer? It got it for him and up on the roof of one of the sheds that needed repair he went. He is like a monkey!!! I have never seen a child so strong! V loves to work with his hands and their is plenty for him to find here at Prairie Flower Farm. I thank God that he was rescued from what could have been a very sad life in Ukraine. But my heart aches for all the other children that are left there. With all that is going on in Ukraine and the invasion of Russia.... now there are orphans who could not come back who were already in the process of being adopted. Their future is bleak. Please pray for the Mommas and Daddies from here in the states that could not continue with the adoptions. Pain for them and the children left there. We are in evil times and we need to pray that God would continue to work His plans out and protect the people of Ukraine! Thank you!

Hugs from my farm,

Linda
