Why no one was bright enough that day to just take the bird out of the oven I have no idea..normally bright people. Oh and after all that we forgot to warm the rolls and serve them..everytime I see one of those pop up button turkeys I think of that year fondly..I'm sure we were starving by the time we ate!Dogmom Divahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00200083614598683445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-52729773894869333402012-11-22T07:31:31.176-06:002012-11-22T07:31:31.176-06:00Though the cherry trees don’t blossom

She had been up almost all night slow roasting the turkey & making all the trimmings. The pies were baked the day before. She would do it all over again for Christmas. Her greatest joy was feeding people & as time went on~~~more folks appeared at the table over the holidays. People who were lonely or in need. My grandmother was a living Angel of Hospitality! Happy Thanksgiving Linda to you & your family. God Bless you & thank you for your friendship.
Hugs, Linda PetersenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-56383467737775825842012-11-21T17:54:12.224-06:002012-11-21T17:54:12.224-06:00Thanks for the tutorial.
We make happy memories ...Thanks for the tutorial.

We make happy memories each year at our Thanksgiving family reunion. My father-in-laws family meets at a church to share Thanksgiving together. This year it will be between 75-80 adults and kids. Some of the meal is made in the church kitchen and the rest is brought by everyone. We will have 3 big turkeys this year. In past years, we always had country ham, which has a unique flavor and only some like. We have a planning meeting each year to decide what each person will bring. This year I am praying for those in our family who do not know the Lord. Many have a knowledge of Jesus but are not born again believers. It's wonderful to be part of a family who recognizes God but also sad to know that true faith is not being passed down from generation to generation. Pray with us as we try to bring our kids up in the Lord.

Linda, I know this is what you and your husband have done also. Thanks for giving us a good model. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Blessings,
MichelleMichellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00868612635336893727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-45180280275178456172012-11-21T14:43:47.756-06:002012-11-21T14:43:47.756-06:00What a sweet idea, Linda. Thanks for sharing the how-tos!

One of my most favorite things about Thanksgiving is the praise and thanksgiving service we always have at church the night before, on Thanksgiving Eve. It is such a blessing to hear young and old praise God and share testimonies of all that He has done in their lives during the past year.

Another neat thing is that for the past few years, my hubby and I have invited friends rather than family for Thanksgiving dinner. Some of our family is far away and others would rather do their own traditions, which is fine, so we often have a houseful of friends to share the meal. It is just as special!Mrs.Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00392321745556290343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-22037412176182258772012-11-21T12:43:56.129-06:002012-11-21T12:43:56.129-06:00What a great way to decorate a jar! Great ideas and who wouldn't love one. :-)
My favorite Thanksgiving memory is the fact that until our children grew up and left home, we celebrated Thanksgiving the first weekend of October. We're not Canadians, but somehow I always felt a bit more thankful (no snow, no biting wind, no blizzard!) in October than I might the end of November. lol So our Thanksgivings were celebrated on a typically gorgeous, crisp October day when the skies are deep blue, the leaves are turning color. So fun!! And we had a bonfire and ate too much pumpkin pie. :-) Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there!♥Cranberry Morninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10758563068581561194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-2687098620849053022012-11-21T08:11:43.261-06:002012-11-21T08:11:43.261-06:00loved playing games with siblings while growing up...loved playing games with siblings while growing up on the holidays apple blossomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03566321938955059922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6551696592048647882.post-49057651803617572802012-11-20T22:57:05.645-06:002012-11-20T22:57:05.645-06:00Reading your post is a delight and always seems yo...Reading your post is a delight and always seems you having something to share with others.
