Ticks, and Sour Milk In Your Cereal! How Is Your Day Going?

Over the years I have taught my children and now my grandchildren to say "Good morning Jesus!" In the morning, that would be one of the things I would saying and they just followed. Now I say, Good Morning...... and they chime in with "Good Morning Jesus", it sounds like a little melody when they say it. Music to my ears! I have trained myself to speak to the Lord as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. I had to work at it though, it didn't come naturally for me. I want the same for my children and my grandbabies. My hearts desire is that they will glean some from me, before I leave this world. I want to be about Jesus. This song is one of my favorites. I enjoy listening to Fernado Ortega. He helps usher me before my God many times when I listen to his voice. Hope you enjoy!

Give Me Jesus

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world,

But give me Jesus

When I am alone

When I am alone

When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world

But give me Jesus

When I come to die

When I come to die

When I come to die, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world,

You can have all this world,

You can have all this world,

But give me Jesus

This morning I went out again to see what was happening in the garden. I thought I would show you what I looked like from the waist down. My sweet friend Mary, gave me this beautiful cotton nightgown with blue flowers and a ruffle on the bottom. It makes me feel like a princess! Honest! I bring it out in the summer, because it is so cool. Not cool, I mean like in light (I am reading this a day later, I know the word is lite, not sure what I was thinking, but that happens to me often with words) and cool. You know what I am trying to say, smile.

This morning the dew was very heavy. My feet were all wet by the time I left the garden. See the little droplets of dew on my tomato plants. I wish I could have captured the way it really looked. The sun was coming up and it was sparkling all over the garden. Absolutely gorgeous!

As I walked through the garden I saw where my precious girls had lined paper and straw along side our onions. My girls are real sweeties and help their momma so much! I am so grateful that they have hearts to serve. We really do have a special relationship and I don't take it for granted. I was not the nicest young lady to my momma when I was growing up. I didn't have the Lord in control of my life and for that I am so sorry. I put her through a lot. Oh to live those days over. I would love her more.

Did you know that the garden can teach you a lot? Use it as your teaching your children and grandchildren. One lesson is the weeds! See these little weeds and elm trees next to the onions? If I don't get them out of there they could look like this.................
.................... in no time. It makes me think about sin, I know people don't maybe talk about it very much, but it doesn't mean it isn't there. It is in me! I come by it naturally, the Bible says. Everyday, sometimes more times then I would like!!!!!!!! It might not be really bad sin in my eyes, I might think, but it is still sin for me. How about the times when my answer is not sweet and kind or when my attitude is that of being stubborn and wanting my own way and not thinking of the needs of others. I sometimes don't even recognize it in myself until I read His word. Then it jumps out and I have to do something about it. Repent! Awwww. That is the life. When it is all forgiven and I can start a fresh and new. Then I start seeing fruit in my life that is pleasing to those around me and God! Makes your day wouldn't you say? Makes us a blessing to be around. That is what I want in my life. I dooooooo notttttt do it perfectly, that is why Jesus came, the one that is perfect. He will help me in my day! That makes me happy! I don't have to do it on my own. I have HIM!

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:16,17

I am going to think on this verse today. Going to carry it in my pocket and read it through out the day! It will help me when I am living it out in real life. Making my decisions of who I should strive to be.

A little Craft Idea from the farm!
Garden Vase

Gather wire, wire cutter, brown flower tape and a little bottle of some sort.

Cut wire and wrap with brown flower tape.

Wrap wire around the neck of the bottle.
Tie a little tag with scripture verse with words of love.
Tie it on with a simple ribbon.

Fill vase with water, put sweet flowers inside and find a special place to hang it outside, so when you walk by you will see it. Make sure you hang some down low for the little ones in your life. Simple and sweet! Maybe you could make one up as a gift for a friend that is in need of a little sunshine!

This little Garden Vase is for every one of you to share!

Have a good day!
I am not sure with the way mine is going so far.
I am scratching and itching all over! I just found a tick in my head! YUCK! I truly HATE TICKS! They make me feel crawly! I am having to work out in a huge field that has thousands of them and I think that they will all want me today. It gives me the creeps that I slept with it. Just plain nasty, if you ask me. Why do we have to have bugs?

Then to top the morning off, my sweet darling daughter fixed me rice krispies with strawberries and sour milk. Smile! She didn't mean to. The taste is still in my mouth. Hmmmmm you all can pray for me that the day will get a little better! Smile

Love and hugs from the farm!

  4. I just assumed the sour milk was an accident when I read that part. Isn't is nice to grow up in a loving family where these things are honest mistakes, you will probably laugh about later today.

Thank you for the the video. It was a nice way to start the day.

  7. Beautiful post. So encouraging. This is how I want to be. Full of Jesus. I want others to see Him in me before they ever see me. I'm not there yet but I do strive for that goal. Thanks for the idea about the flower vase. So pretty. God bless.

  8. this is really sweet and I'm listening to the song by Fernando Ortega while I'm typing. I"m in the midst of doing laundry and contemplating life, Jesus and what the future will hold my my dad and I. I love the encouragement and the funnies about the tick and the sour milk...No ticks aren't funny...but the way you were talking about it must made me laugh :) :) :) Oh the milk...reminds me of a scene from The Little Rascals...the kids are in an orphanage and are asked to get milk. So one of the kids milk's a cow..but spills the milk pail. So they try making powdered milk...but the kid making the milk, can't read...and he grabs powdered plaster of Paris instead..Well, needless to say no one was able to eat their breakfast because it turned into hard plaster. The big funny line of that episode was "Don't drink the milk. Why? It's spoiled"...
I figured the spoiled milk was an accident :) :) :) ..still thoughtful that she brought you breakfast. I hope your day goes better. You always brighten my day!!! Love and hugs, Heather :)

p.s. The nighty is really pretty!!! I like the colors!!!

  9. I am sorry you are having such a bad day. I pray that the Lord will end your day is a huge blessing. Today, in my email, I received this. I hope it can bring you some encouragement, as it has to me.

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I am a Healer?

If you never had to pray, How would you know that I am a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness, How would you know that I am a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake, How would you know that I am a forgiver?

If you knew all, How would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble, How would you know that I will come to your rescue?

If you never were broken, Then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem, How would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering, Then how would you know what I went through?

If you never went through the fire, Then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things, How would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you, How would you know that I love you?

If you had all power, Then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect, Then what would you need me for? Love, Jesus

  18. Linda I hope your day got better. I didn't think your daughter gave you sour milk on purpose. I don't like tick either but bugs are necessary in the life cycle.

  22. Linda, thanks for stopping by my blog. I actually live about 20 minutes away from Coffeyville and have been through Chetopa many times. Speaking of horse breeding. The old barn I staged for the wedding reception is my daughters boyfreinds family barn and they race and breed horses. www.rutlandranch.net they do some amazing work there. My daughter went with them last night to Tulsa to a horse race and Jeff (the owner of the ranch) came home with the 1st place position! If you are ever intersted in info on his operations there check out his website. At one time the Rutland Horse Ranch was nationally know for their breeding of quarter horses and auctions. Check it out!!
