It is Friday and the First Day of October!

Hello Sweet Ladies!!!!!!!!

It is the first day of October and it is Friday!!!! Yea for my family and ME!!!!! I will be Home for 2 days lovin every minute of it. PRAISE THE LORD! It makes me so HAPPY!

I have been picking my dead flower seeds and preserving them for next spring. I just let them dry real good. ...............put them in a marked envelope and stick them in a jar. Look at what I found............they were Little Red's eggs...............from a while back. I just love them....and will keep them there for awhile..........I was picking my coneflower seeds and there the little eggs were..............just sitting there........all hidden...............sweetness.

When we need a recipe we just type in the name of the item we need. Tressa typed in Caramel Sticky Buns. WE found this wonderful blog. This is the picture we took of what she made. The recipe is HERE
You will love this blog.............wonderful recipes! I need RECIPES!!!!!

Well.....here is our Momma and Daddy White Cochin Bantams. They really are a pretty pair. She needs to start laying eggs next spring for me don't you think? I may have to put them in a separate cage and then she might start laying...........I think the babies would be so cute! They were so cute last night sitting on the top of their nester. They were getting ready for bed. They have fuzzy feathery feet. A very sweet Momma and Daddy. They don't have names.........they need ones. Any ideas?

I shot this picture and thought the coloring really turned out pretty.
Flowers for YOU!

Just remember................ you are precious in HIS Sight!

HOME

Here is our fatty girl Miss Sophie playing just about an hour ago. If we would have taken a picture of her this morning. It would have broken your heart! She was very limp and couldn't even hardly move. Thank you God and friends for praying!

Thank you Precious Ladies.........I asked for prayer and we got it! You are all so amazing!

First........... I have to tell you that little Miss Sophie is doing fine. We were a mess this morning for sure. Poor Mr. Phil with three girls in the house. We left for work early.......so we could stop by the vet.......they would not be open until 8. We went ahead and wrapped Sophie in a blanket and had to go into work. Once we got in we were not doing very well. That is when I thought to write you all so you could start praying. Thank you so much.........we could not believe it when we went back out to check on her again. She at least had her head up............ before that she was flopping all around and couldn't even stand up. Poor little thing! Any way.......Tressa finally got her to the vet........ Dr. Debbie said that probably what happened was she got to cold in the night and her blood sugar went down. When she got warmed up .......that helped her. She is doing great tonight. She is playing and biting us (playfully). Talk about "Praising the Lord". We are so thankful that she is doing better. Isn't it amazing how you can just fall for an animal so much? I think the fact that Sophie depends on us for her everything............ has made us love her even more.

You are welcome to use my photo if you wish.

I went to the girl's house to gather the eggs tonight. One girl is laying the most beautiful blue eggs. I hurried back into the house and got the one that she laid yesterday. I think I will have to blow them out and decorate with them. Cute cute! They are so good to their Mom......that is me if you were wondering! You know at work I go with my apron and gather the eggs in the huge fridge. I giggle all the way. Makes my day a little more interesting. I come back to the bakery with eggs in my apron. Hmmm I bet the Lord is giggling also!

I said that I would put up a new recipe that our friend Alicia gave us for work. She is always helping us find new recipes. You can help us also if you like. The bread is beautiful when all made up and it tastes wonderful. I took a picture of ours, but if you go over to the website it is really pretty. The recipe will be there for you. It is called Maple Nut Coffee Cake

You are welcome to use this photo on your blog.....if you wish.

The evening was very pretty tonight............so I walked around the farm and took a few shots with the camera of what I saw. It kind of helps me calm down from the day. I have been thinking so much about all who have worked outside of the home for years..........it takes so much of your life doesn't it? Still working on being grateful for a job. Wish it was still farming......even though that was very hard also! I need to be satisfied.....right?

You are welcome to use this one also....if you like.

This is a little birdhouse I have out in the Potter's Shed. I like with the bittersweet on it!

You can use this one also!

Thank you so.......... for stopping by........I love reading your comments. You are such precious ladies and I do take you to the Father quit often during each day. Never thought I would enjoy blogging as much as I do. It makes my heart smile..........a lot!

It is Wednesday night when I am putting this post up. It will go out to the subscribers on Thursday.

Again thank you so much for praying.......for Miss Sophie. Having animals puts a lot of drama in your life!

Hugs from my FARM to Your HOME!

A Gift Idea for FALL!

Dropping in again to leave a note about Sophie. Tressa took her into the vet and they said that she had probably gotten to cold last night. Something about her blood sugar going down. Thank you so much for praying. Before we could even get her in she was improving. I am not kidding. We were proclaiming Jesus at work.........we believe it was Him who helped her.........the prayers of His children do not go unheard!!!! You are such precious ladies.............thank you!

Just a note: This morning (Wed.) we woke up and Sophie is NOT doing WELL! She is the little kitten we have been bottle feeding for two weeks. Please pray for our Tressa and Taylor.......taking Sophie to the vet this morning. Thank you! Hugs

Hello Sweet Ladies............

I hope the weather is as nice for you all.......... as it is here on the farm............I LOVE IT! We are having sunshine and cooler weather. Last night the girls and I sat and ate Apple Dip and a huge beautiful sweet apple. I have never heard of them before........at least I can't remember it. It is called Honey Crisp. The apple was on sale.... so I just had to try it. It cost $1.50 but it is worth it...........it is huge like I said and it will feed 4. This is our favorite dip to have with our apples for a little something special. We were so lazy last night and we just loved it. I should have never sat down......... I could hardly get up!!!!!! We had so much fun just eating our apple! We need times like that don't you think?

For a little gift make up this recipe for the Fruit Dip........put it in a little mason jar. Put the jar and apples in a basket that has a red checker napkin in the bottom of the basket and up along the sides. Tie a ribbon in a bow and hang the recipe off the handle. Easy and so cute! I will make some also........hmmmmm who might the Lord want us to bless?

The days at work are very busy this week and next. We will be catering and so that means lots of extra items to bake. I made a beautiful coffee bread today. My sweet friend Alicia gave the recipe and she made it.......she said it was wonderful so I needed something today.........it is just what she said!!!! Hope to get the info up for you tomorrow. Tressa made sticky buns. She really did a super job.......God is blessings the girls with a wonderful education........and Momma and Dad are right there...........Praising the Lord all the time for making this job so tailor made for our family! I have also been asked to help with the decorating for the Homecoming Dinner. I worked on some ideas tonight. It will be very simple.

I just had to show you this pic I took tonight of Mrs. Puddle Duck and her babies. She is still limping.......I hope it won't be forever! She is so beautiful..........don't you think? The babies are about the size of her. Just a little more growth and they will be! They really grow fast.

I can't believe how the camera got such detail on her feathers. I am so thankful she was not killed. It was a gift............for me.........I am so thankful!

All the baby ducks out in the sweet potato patch. They eat so many bugs~for me!

These two have grown from this to................

this..... I think they are both girls. This spring they will have babies....... I am sure..........will be nice!

I love all the ideas and recipes that you sent me today on the Sweet Potatoes. They are going to be so fun to try out! I love it that you took the time.............very sweet YOU ARE!

Hugs sweet ladies from my Farm to Your HOME!

I Would Love It, If You Would Share Some Recipes!

Look at my sweet potato patch this year!

Here is the sweet potato flower up close. Isn't it so pretty? There are flowers popping all over my plants. It is looking so pretty this year out in the garden.

Hello Sweet Ladies....... Hope your weekend was a blessed one......ours needed to be a little bit longer.............smile! The weather here has been spoiling us! Just gorgeous..........very nice and cool..........so you want to get everything done in one day!

There is one thing I really like about the FALL ..............it is harvesting my garden. The Sweet Potatoes are ready for HARVEST! I love to use them in our holiday cooking. I cook mine in water.....bring to a boil until tender and then place them in a skillet that has butter and brown sugar. Super easy and very very delicious. I will be harvesting a lot this year from the looks of the plants. We received some rain and they are going to be very easy to dig now. Can't wait to find some time to start getting them out of the garden. I will be needing to learn what I need to do with them. I have never had this many so I will need to know how to store them. If you have ideas of what I can do.......please let me know. I know I can look in some of my books........but it would be fun to hear what you have to say. If you have any recipes that you make with your sweet potatoes........ I would love to have some. If you would like to email the recipes or just put info in the comments that is fine. If you have some over on your blog........that would work also......just tell us and we will come over!!!!!!!

Thank you so much in advance...............thought of you a lot today as I worked. Some have real prayer needs! I can't wait to see how the Lord is going to answer them. WE need to wait expectantly!!!!

Last night some men that we know went to a retreat. We heard about 30 testmonies of what the Lord did to them at the retreat. I cried through most of them. so did they! It was such a wonderful thing to hear how they had been broken and wanted to be the men of their HOMES. They were just simple men.........giving up everything for Christ.........ladies we need to pray fervently for our husbands............it is hard out there! Pray that the enemy would not have influence in their lives. There were 60 men that went. The other 30 servers didn't speak because of time........but their lives were impacted also. You could see it in their faces..........precious time. Praying that God will use them. America needs them! It was a precious thing to watch.

God Bless you from our Farm to YOUR HOME!

You are totally sooooooo special!
Hugs,

The Sun Greeted Me.............this Morning!

You may use this photo..... if you like.

Last night............ was beautiful..........we are having cooler weather and it is really making everything look so pretty. The flowers are so colorful and the trees are soon to be changing. Mr. Phil and I were watching our daughter ride her horse and off to the west the sky was lighting up in colors of red........orange and pink. The little dot you see in the picture is the planet, Venus. The moon was coming up at the East...... it was so beautiful. I tried to take a pic..........didn't turn out..........wish you could have seen it.........maybe you did...........smile. God is so amazing...........and ALL that He gives to us for our enjoyement........boggles my mind sometimes. I enjoyed the evening..............I was sooooooo HOME with my family..............ahhhh!

Good Morning Sweet Ladies from Prairie Flower Farm..........

Our dog woke us up this morning barking................my only thought was the dogs were back.........and I couldn't have them kill any more chickens and ducks...............Mr. Phil went out to check around the farm..............he found nothing............I am praying for protection for our farm today..........this is such a sad thing to always have to be wondering if they will come back.

While I was already awake........... I took milk duty with our little Miss Sophie. It marvels me that I could love a little kitten so. I was pondering this morning.............hmmm. I think it is because of the dependency she has on us...........and what we have to give her.

Time..........feedings...........taking her potty...........keeping her clean when she isn't (she sometimes has accidents)...........someone having to be with her alllllll the time............taking her with...........if you have to go somewhere. Now if you are a child lover like our family is........and a little baby is in need.........that equals care.............then once you are giving the care....it equals love. She has truly stollen our hearts. We feed her like a real baby and she would die if we didn't care for her needs. As I was continuing to think..........I thought about my Heavenly Father...........He cares for us in a HUGE WAY! I got to thinking about how He created us.........that He said it was "Good". I looked up the meaning of Good it means to be....... desired or approved of...........pleasing, welcome.........giving pleasure......enjoyable.....satisfying........ then I went to the Thesaurus and this is what I found.......... FINE, quality; excellent, superb, outstanding, exceptional, marvelous, wonderful.............hmmm to think on these things that God would think that about us............do we think that about HIM? If I can love a little kitten so much and want to care for her needs..............how much more does the God of the UNIVERSE who created me ........ cares and loves me and you! That ladies is profound. When I am holding and feeding little Sophie.........something happens with me. God created Sophie for our enjoyment...........He also created Me for His enjoyment...........with Him. I can find so much enjoyment with Sophie..........do I find the same with my Father? I will think on this a lot today. I know that He has always has taken care of us....... with keeping a farm going, there are days you think it is impossible.........but it is not..........and as we have looked back over the years of caring for Phil's parents farm.............there is only one explanation............God Cared! How He sustained us........kept us going........ it is a picture of HIS CARE!......I think of my love for Sophie............nothing compares to His love for our family and yours......it might not" feel" like it at times...........but He is there. I am sure some of you who have worked the land know.........it is all about HIM. He would send the rain...........and sometimes not..............and He still made something out of it even though it didn't make any sense on paper. We have been on our knees over the years and on bended knee out in a field asking for His help......... He met us...........it was His fields anyway..........we were just care takers. Now He has blessed our family with a job..........together.............we are get paid for our work..............farming has been a long road and there are other farms out there right now that are going under..........because of what it takes to keep them going in todays economy. Now that I think on that............. please pray for the farmer's and their families. They are the ones that work long hard hours to make sure we have food on our tables. They are real families with real needs and they totally depend on their crops to provide for their families with not much left over........they work day and night for us. Wow........have I gotten off. I do that sometimes. But I am so grateful this morning.............I am HOME............I will enjoy! I hope you will have a good day also. Know you are in my prayers. I am praying for those of you who are hurting............life is hard..........but know the ONE who will here your needs and cares so much for you! Just tell Him........He already knows...........but He loves to hear from us it is called relationship. I like.......no I love!!!!

We made Lemon Poppyseed Scones for breakfast one morning at the college kitchen. They are so easy to make and we used a heart shape cookie cutter to cut them out. The kids ate them..........really fast..........we will make again. Here is the recipe we used the recipe from

Coffeehouse Scones

2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1 tea. baking powder
1/2 tea. baking soda
1/4 tea. salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into pieces
2/3 - 3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tea. vanilla
Add 2 T. of lemon zest and 1 T. of poppy seeds.

Put all ingredients into a food processor, process until it makes a ball. Take out and place on a floured counter. Don't mix to much, but use enough flour to make the dough so it is not sticky. Pat out into a circle and use a heart shape cookie cutter to cut scones out. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Check to make sure they do not burn. They are so sweet looking.

In a small bowl squeeze two fresh lemons. Add about 1/2 cup sugar and let it dissolve. Pour over the scones while hot. Sprinkle zest on top.

Enjoy this recipe, it is one of our very very favorite scone recipes.
Great with a little Lemon Curd......... if you want to take a little more time........oh and a little dollop of fresh whipped cream made with powdered sugar like my Momma in Love did............it is better made with that than plain sugar...........NUM!

Have a good day today! I will be busy about the FARM and doing some sewing...........feels good!

Good!!! I like that word now.

My sweetie husband just brought in a blanket........ it had been warmed in the dryer..........placed it around me.........it must be getting to be FALL Thyme.........he always has done this act of kindness..........it is nice..........I will think of something today to bless HIM. He has a lot on his shoulders............I'll be a thinkin! Maybe some Lemon Scones with Lemon Curd and a bit of fresh whipped cream............. sounds like a good idea!

You may use this photo..... if you like.
I went and picked you flowers...........wish I could hand deliver to your home.......now that is a happy thought!

I am going to make a cup of Peppermint Tea..........wish you could come............and sit with me.........I would love that!
Welcome new followers........you have been noticed!

Hugs to you from our FARM to your HOME...........I hope you will drop by to say hello.....I love your comments...........I will try to say hello back. I should have more time today!

Did You Know?

You are welcome to use this photo if you like.

........that today is the first day of Autumn? One of my sweet blogger friends wrote today and told me. That makes my heart very happy! It has been a very long and hot summer here and I really need a break.......how about you? I love it when I can open all the windows and let the cool breeze come through the windows.........past the curtains...........and then into our HOME to make it smell............. like the fresh outdoors. Happy thought. I think everyone is ready.

You are welcome to use this picture.........if you would like.

The other day our little grocery store in our town had a lot of pumpkins in front of the store..........three of them said they wanted to come HOME with me........what could I say? This is the first year for sometime that I didn't get to put in a pumpkin patch. I love all the little white ones.......... I have a favorite little Market place that sells pumpkins and gourds. Maybe this weekend I can go and pick some up...........plus some apples.........need to put up some applesauce. I am really in the mood to get some decorating done. Are you doing anything special.........please leave a comment and we will come and see!!!!!!

I have been playing with picnik on the pictures. You are welcome to use picture, if you would like.

There is pitter patter on our roof............right now..........rain...........we have needed it so badly.........I bet my sweet potatoes are taking a drink. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get them out of the ground................. if we didn't get some rain soon. I love the sound of rain.........don't you? Especially on a tin roof. Oh my......... it is really starting to rain as I type. I am going to run out to the front porch and see if I can take a pic.

I am back. We have a beautiful storm coming in. The clouds are so low. There is a lot of fog coming..........wish you could see it. Really pretty. All the little spots on the picture are rain drops from when the flash went off. We are very thankful for the rain........bet the ducks are enjoying themselves.

I haven't shown you pic's of Sophie lately..............heehee. Today Tress was able to take two adorable ones. She is so precious...... ...she has such personality.............you would think that we thought she was a real human baby. She is getting very playful..........even though she is so little.

Sleepy time..........she plays hard and then she is out! She came to us just when we needed something to love on.

Thank you everyone for all the sweet comments about our loss of the duck and chickens. You all are the sweetest.................. as I have said before!

I need to be getting some things done before turning in. One more day and I get to come HOME! Can't wait!

This is what I pray for you all............ asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we (I) pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1: 9-14.

You are loved........by me...........and JESUS!

I love this scripture. We have prayed this for our children many times.

Welcome to all the new followers............you have been sooooooo noticed!

Hope Your Evening Was Nice........Ours Was!

Hello......Sweet Ladies,

When we got home the other night this beautiful pie was awaiting us............doesn't it just look like a lot of Love went into it? It did........after a long day at the kitchen........it was so nice to be pampered with a real HOMEmade pie. It was apple. Num! It was a recipe used from Paula Deen's Recipe. It was called Mom's Apple Pie. Thought you might like to have the recipe. Tressa said it was real easy. Love the little leaves on the top. At work so far we have made 9 pies this week for work. I will be making 5 more for tomorrow and then 24 that they will need for Sunday Brunch. I am so thankful that they let me use premade pie crusts. I would be a mess if they made me make them by scratch! Heehee.

At the college kitchen we also make this cake. We call it the Carmel Cake. We have made it 2 times so far and the kids love it! We use this White Cake Recipe. It is so wonderful.....super easy and very moist!!!! The best white cake recipe......... we have every eaten! The frosting is from Martha Stewart's called Caramel Frosting. Use just the Caramel Sauce on this site. Very easy ladies! If we can make this...........you can make it. Just drizzle the sauce over the cake before you serve it. Enjoy!

This morning we left the house very early.......still dark outside. THe baby ducks were outside the door.......they started to talk to me.......refreshing way to start my day! The Mr. Turkey started to gobble at me.........again.....sweetness to my ears. I know that may sound funny but this Farm Girl loves it! We were driving down the road and Tress said..........."look at the moon".......it was gorgeous....and huge right in front of us..........a touch from the Father..........reminding us that He is there holding the moon in place. Right then...... with the moon looking at us........ this song came on the radio. I just lifted my heart to my God. He is so faithful ladies!!!!!! Hope you like this song. I have always liked it a lot! Use it as a prayer to God to touch our world full of people who need Jesus!

I got to work on the little nesters for Little Miss Fluff and Mrs. Puddle Duck. Filled them with nice straw for them to lay their eggs. Mrs. Puddle Duck is still having problems limping. Makes me sad.......but I am so grateful that she is alive. She is laying eggs. Isn't that precious? Need to get that incubator this weekend. MR. PHIL!!!!!!!! It is payday. Can't think of a better present to by myself. SMILE!

Hugs sweet ladies! You really are very precious!

Two more days. Can't wait for the weekend!

HE Is A Giver of Good Gifts.....YOU!

You are welcome, if you would like to use this photo.
This verse just blessed me so much. These apples were given to us from an orchard.......I loved them and thought of this verse. Hope you like!

Hello sweet ladies.......and thank you so much for being so kind and there!!!!!! You are amazing! It was so hard to not have the internet working last night. I couldn't tell you thank you for all the sweetness!

I have to tell you that Mrs. Puddle Duck has been found.......she was wounded in her leg........but other than that she is okay. Sometimes the animals will run for cover and not come out for fear the dogs are still around. Yea! She will be able to have more babies in the spring. She did loose one of her babies.........but the other 7 are doing very well.

Little Miss Fluff is safe!!!!

Yesterday when we got home after a day at the kitchen cafeteria. We drove up the lane to the farm......I went into the house and Mr. Phil went around to check on the animals. HE found Little Miss Fluff! She was one of the Momma Hens that was missing from what happened on Sunday. It was so wonderful to see that she had not been one of the chickens killed. She is one of my best sitters......so she will be ready to lay on eggs next year I am sure....... Thank you JESUS!

Taylor worked with yesterday.............. so when she got home she was ready to ride her horse. She was riding Kansas around the farm and came in the house all excited. She said, "Momma come....... I have a surprise for you". I went outside and this is what we saw.

Here is a small video for some who have never seen this before.

They fit so well into Fall don't you think?

Side view.

This picture is so pretty don't you think?

So thankful we can see nature like this. God is such a beautiful designer!

Tressa is holding one.....you can see the beauty up close. They can be very friendly.

You can see them hanging on the branches. They look like dead leaves. That must be protection from the Lord from birds eating them.

Thought you would like this close up. See the beautiful blue sky between the leaves. It was a gorgeous evening. My friend Sherry told me that it was gifts from the Lord. We all thought the same. It was so, so pretty. HE made us feel majorly loved!

Some of the pictures from above were taken by our daughter Tressa. She captured some beautiful ones and I just wanted you to know. Smile!

P.S. I had to write my post so fast at work this morning as the internet didn't work last night. You all are such sweet ladies to have written comments on my post on Sunday I appreciate you very much!

Hugs from the FARM to your HOME!
