Life Is............

My sweetie brother who is a year under me just drove down our country lane to drive back to Nevada with his families belongings, that they have stored at our farm. Our lives have been lots of hellos and goodbyes over the years. I really like the hellos, but the goodbyes are very hard for me. My brother happens to be one of the funniest guys I know, besides our oldest son Jason. The Bible says, "laughter is a good medicine." We laughed and laughed during his stay for 5 days and that was good. Now he is on his way back to his home. I am sad today, not that I am not grateful. Its just that I know it will be some time before I see him again. That is the hard part. So....... today since I am done with the first fabric line I will take a break from art and go outside and get some gardening done. Hmmmmmm....... that will make my heart happy and I can just spend some time with my Jesus and pray for my sweet brother. He will be going over the Rockies and he is going to need prayer :< )

This morning my Phil read from Philippians 2:1-18 to our family before my brother left. One part that did stand out to me was in verse 1-4 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affections and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. I am thankful that my brother and I do have the fellowship of the Spirit, and our joy is complete by being of the same mind. It has not always been that way. Our family was not raised in a Christian home. Our parents did the best that they new and for that I am grateful. I could say more because there was lots of sadness, but I do believe with all my heart, that the Lord knew the home that I needed to be in. He did give me a choice of how I wanted to live later as I grew up and could make my own decisions on how I wanted to live. A lot of the things that were in our home, I chose to change when I started to raise my family. One of those was to have a Christ centered home. Not a perfect home, smile, that will be in heaven!!!

If you think of us today, please pray for safety for my brother and that I would be thankful for him that he gets to go home and see his precious family!!!!

Lots of ladies have been emailing me about where they can buy our fabrics. Well in certain Wal-Marts that have fabric they sell it. So many Wal-Marts closed down the fabric sections. Thought that was a bit strange! Hancocks and JoAnns fabrics also sell it. Yesterday when I talked to the president of the fabric company said that I can sell it also on our blog. Sooooo, as soon as some fabric becomes available I will let you know. My Phil and I will see what we can work out so you can maybe see the fabric designs before it comes out and then you could pre order. The one thing about fabric nowadays is that they order only a certain amount and that is it! We will definitely see how we can make it available! Tomorrow Wal-Mart will be looking at the fabric line we just finished. It is called, An Old Fashioned 4th. I am sooooo excited to show you. Turned out really fun! I hope they and you will like.
I am going to my garden and will enjoy this warm day they say will be in the 80's.

Love you all bunches and we are preparing for Easter to celebrate the New Life in Christ!

Just About Done With The First Fabric Line!

Isn't this the cutest?

Just dropped in to say hi! Hope all is well!!!!! I was able to go to Stutzman's for just a little bit on Sat. I wanted to stay all day, but I had to get back home and work on the fabric. I was not able to stay to see what Larry had for his Trash 2 Treasures. Made me sad, but the greenhouse was so beautiful. My Alicia took pictures for me. I have been trying to load them for you to see and it is taking forever and won't work. I could only get one pic up, I will show you the other pictures at a later date when we get better internet. We had the internet man by yesterday and he said Monday is the day for our new internet provider!!! Yeah for me! We have been without internet again. We were without all day Saturday and Sunday. Out again on Monday all morning and a little this morning. I am really trying to stay happy.

I am almost done with the first fabric collection, it will go out today. It is really turning out fun. Tressa and I are getting a lot done. It is kind of funny, because when you design fabric it has to be perfect in measurement, so when it is printed off, it will be what they call "in repeat." I messed up with one of the large patches, but as we looked at it Tress had another idea. It was perfect. I was so thankful, because when you work hours and hours to not make any mistakes and you do and then the Lord uses it to be something even better, how nice! When I start designing I always ask for the Lord to help me. He is the "Master Designer" and has thought of everything already. I am thankful that I have one almost done and will finish the 2nd one this week. I worked on two at the same time. I am pleased with what we have to show at the International Quilt Market.

I also talked to the president of the fabric company and I get to design a Baby Collection!!!!!!!! I am so excited. Can't wait. Already have some fun ideas. Here is when you come in. If you have any ideas of what you would like to see in the collection please leave me a comment. I will need a name if you have any ideas. Just let your imagination go!!!

Also, today is my 1 year Blogaversary. I wanted to have a big Party! I still am though! Unexpectedly my brother showed up to pick up his things that we have been storing for him and the fabric has taken up my days. I am going to do something though. I am sorry it won't be today............ really sorry!!!!!!! I promise it is going to be a really fun Party though!! I am hoping by next week. It is my birthday the first part of April, soooooo I will be ready to celebrate!

My little plants are growing and the tomatoes almost have their third leaves. I have broccoli, lettuce, cabbage and flowers in the Potters Shed. I love to put flowers in throughout my veggies. That way it always looks so colorful and pretty. I also started some new seeds that are now germinating. Camomile, zinnias and for-get-me-knots. They are so cute! I noticed that the daffodils are almost ready to flower and my coneflowers are starting to come up. It is definitely looking like spring around here!

Miss you all!!!!!! I feel that without the internet, I have not been able to check in on everyones blogs and I feel out of touch!

Well, I am off to finish the fabric and dream about my "Bogaversary Party."

Blessings to you all ,

The Wind Is Blowing In Kansas and a Storm On The Horizon

This is the site of the "Potter's Shed" this morning when I walked from the
Hen House. It is a place where memories have been made. Those memories
will always be tucked in my heart! It is looking a bit like spring!

Hello Sweet Friends, hope your day is full of sonshine!
This morning I went out to check on all the "Chicks" in the Hen House and everyone is doing fine. They are laying their eggs for the day in their comfy little nests. They seem quite happy this morning, but they have heard that there could be some storms tonight. They don't mind though, because they are so tucked and safe in their Hen House. Their Momma takes very good care of them. After I checked on the girls, I went out to the Potters Shed to take the milk jugs off the baby lettuce plants. They need some direct sun and today is going to be a perfect day for that.

Look at those sweet little babies. So nice to see after a long hard winter!

I hope to put in some cabbage tomorrow. My Tressy made up some coleslaw yesterday, that was a recipe just like Long John Silver's. Mmmmmm good! It tasted like it to me!

After I left the Hen House I went to the Potter's Shed. The sun was shining so perfectly at the entrance of the door so I had to show you what it looked like. It really is a sweet place. A long time ago Grandpa used it for the baby calves, then they sold the dairy and Grandma started using it as her shed for the garden tools and such. When we moved here to the farm after they both went to be with Jesus, I claimed it and named it the Potter's Shed. It had an old trough for the baby calves to eat, so my Mr. Phil and I filled it up with dirt. It is wonderful for herbs, carrots, radishes, lettuce, and flowers. The roof came off way back, because of high winds, so it is all open. I love it, because when we have our picnics out there, we can watch the stars come out at night. We have CHRISTmas lights around the outside and little mason jars with wire that hang with candles in them. I have an old table that is one of my favorites and this last January one of our grandchildren had a program we haaad (smile) to go to. On the way I saw 5 oak chairs in front of someones house, it said free! Move over girls!!!!!!!!!! I was squished, but I didn't care. I can't say that about my girls though. Smile! I have great plans for sweet chair cushions. I just dream and write my ideas in my journal for the day I will be ready! Do you have some special things jotted down in your journal, that you want to do? Love to hear about it!

Oh, how I wish I could share the Potter's Shed with you personally!!!! I don't have time to start working on cleaning it now, but when I finish the fabric and two new patterns I will start. When I do you will be the first to see what I have done.

When I was walking out the door, I saw this and thought of how the cobwebs of the winter
are just about behind us. I thought about how I have cobwebs in my mind of hurts and disappointments. I am so thankful that I know the One that can help me clean those out!!!! Spring time is a good time to start doing some house cleaning in my heart. If you want you can join me! It is never to late is it? I know He will help me identify what needs attention! Smile!

My internet is so sssssllllllooooowwww. It is not fun! I am trying to keep smiling!!!!!!! Everyone has to have something in their life to keep them dependent on the Lord's grace. Right?????????

One last thing, I wanted to tell you, a lady wrote this morning to thank me for the Tea Cozy pattern. She said she was using it for a wedding shower. Each setting was going to have a tea cup and a tea cozy in the inside. So thankful that the cozy is blessings someone. Love it, blesses my heart!!!!!!

Blessings to your day and hugs sent your way!!!! I am a poet! YES!!!! Just had to give you a smile!

All In A Day On Prairie Flower Farm!

Hello,
Look at my little valance that I stitched up for my new kitchen curtain. Just what my creative side needed. Every time I go in and look out the window to the bird feeders, it is so pretty! Take a little time out to do a little something to make your home pretty. I wish I had extra time to do more, but it does help me if I can do at least one thing a day. I just love this fabric, it is so pretty. I have two more valances to make for the kitchen, but that is for another day!

We are seeing so many signs of spring on our farm. Lots of birds are coming back after being gone over the winter. I open the door to our farm house and hear all the wonderful spring sounds. When I am sitting painting I can hear the birds outside singing. As I sit typing I just heard Mr. Cardinal singing away. Momma Cardinal has not been around since last year, so we think she has died. How I hope a Momma comes to our farm this year. I love watching them in the spring. The Poppa Cardinal feeds the Momma. We watch how he cracks the sunflower seed open and then feeds it to her. It really is a precious sight.

Even though I am busy getting artwork ready for fabric, I am taking a little fun time out each day to get some other things done. I put horse manure on my rhubarb, got some little lettuce plants from Rosa and planted them in the Potter's Shed and worked on transplanting my little tomatoes and basil. I did take pictures, but our internet provider has not been working!!!!!! We have to do something, but living in the country away from everything, is hard to find a provider. Well yesterday, I was crying (yes I was a boohoo baby) to Gail my neighbor about how frustrating it has been with our internet shutting down for days at a time or it is just sooo slow!!!! They also have been trying to find a better internet provider. She then started to tell me how they had been over at someones place not far from us and the family had found an internet provider for people in the country. Yes!!!!!!! Thank you Jesus! It has been so frustrating like I said and sometimes life has felt like going up hill, "ALL" the time. Any one out there relate? We called the internet provider and he is coming out on Monday. I am so thankful, because the Lord has answered another one of our prayers!! Anyway all that to say it would take me forever to get the pic's up on my blog of my transplanting pictures, soooo I will put them up at a later date. You can go to a post from last year, if you are interested in growing your own plants . Click here It really is so fun to watch the little plants grow right before your eyes. Great lesson for teaching your children or grandchildren.

Well hope you are all having a good day today. It is to be in the high 50's. I am thankful for that!

Almost forgot to tell you Momma Puddle Duck is laying eggs. All the little Banty Cochins are laying eggs.......... that means babies hopefully this spring!!!!!!

Also, remember the wonderful greenhouse Stuztman's? They are having Spring Celebration on this Sat. the 27th of March. Look at this old washing machine that I am sure Larry fixed up. Just got the information this morning and thought I would send it on to you!

Now this is cute wouldn't you say?!

"Rejuvenate Your Patio with Trash to Treasure"
with our Designer Larry Rogers!
at
10 a.m. & 2 p.m.

If you live close to Pleasantveiw, west of Hutchinson, Kansas on US Highway 50. The Celebration is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All the stores will have lots of fun going on? You won't be sorry if you come!

P.S. I have a momma hen that lays light blue eggs with wonderful brown polka dots. I have been saving some so I could take a picture with them in a nest. I thought I had better blow the insides out. Haha that sounds so funny that I am saying that. Anyway I started to do that last night with two of the eggs. I poked two holes in each end of the egg. I was so excited that it was working so I came into where my girls were and I said, "Look how cool this is?" Well right then the whole egg exploded all over my face. Thought it might give you a laugh. I guess I was blowing to hard. I will be more careful next time. It worked on the first egg. Smile!
Blessings and Hugs!!!!!!!!

What would you do today?

A little stitchery picture for you,

Time To Transplant At Prairie Flower!

You may use this picture on your sidebar if you like.

Just put that it is from Prairie Flower Farm please. Thank you!

It is sun shining today, so I am going to enjoy it!!!!!

What is happening at your place?

Dear ladies, It did snow, could not believe it!!!! It wasn't as bad as they thought it was going to be. It is all about gone now. Yes!!!!!!! This week we are to have warmer weather, which I am very grateful for. I will have to be in the house though, because I am working on two Patriotic Fabric lines. Any of you that would like to pray for me, please do. Thank you very much. Smile! I do have some of the icons drawn and I just need to start painting. Then I will scan them in and my Tressy and I will start making some fabric pieces. I enjoy designing, but sometimes it can be a little stressful. It is kind of like harvest, when you work so hard and then it is cutting time. Long hours!

This morning I transplanted some of my little tomato and basil plants that were needing it.
You will need some 7 oz. Dixie cups and potting soil.

Poke a hole in the bottom of the cup with a sharp knife.

Fill cup with potting soil almost full and pat soil down. With your first finger poke a hole in the soil. Lift up the soil carefully along the side of little tomato plant after it gets about 2" tall. Handle the little plant very carefully.

Push soil carefully around the plant and fill the hole. I have about 1/2" of the little plant above the top of soil.

Now you will want to have some kind of inexpensive fluorescent shop light. You can use a south window if it has good sun light. You will have to turn the plants though. Keep plants moist with water. I always pour warm water from the bottom or use a tea pot filled and gently pour warm water from the top.

If you would like more information go here. Starting seeds They have wonderful pictures.
Here is another site called Grow Better Veggies, I like to read. If you are interested in starting your own seeds just read and read and read! There are wonderful sites on the web.

Here is a picture of my Roma's last year.

I have this cute little Potters Shed on the side of our big barn. I will show you pictures at a later date, as I get it all cleaned up from winter. Along one side it has a feeding trough that my honey and I filled with dirt. I take my plants out there when it starts getting warmer in the day.Iput old windows on the top to make a greenhouse and later screen window. It is so wonderful to go and sit out there with all my little baby plants growing away. Hope you are getting to enjoy some Spring Thyme weather!

Here is my little Potters Shed.
On my last post some of you wrote me the most precious comments and some personal emails. I loved it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Some out there may be very sad about yesterdays healthcare vote. I am also, but I am confident that the Lord knows what He is allowing. It is for our good. I remember this one pastor telling us that in the perspective of eternity we are a little teeny tiny dot on the line. That is sooooooo true. Just keep your eyes on Him, know matter what we will go through, He will go through it and He will be with us. I am sure of that. Don't quit praying. It is our life line!!!!! He loves us so much. It gives me comfort to know that the Lord has my family covered by His protection. Isaiah 49:16 says., "See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." Is that not so precious of our Lord to put in His Word? It is His gift to us, for those who want it.

Blessings sweet ladies that follow my blog! You mean a lot to me and don't forget it... smiling!

Happy Spring Thyme

Can We Pray?

A bouquet of flowers for you!
You may use on your blog if you like.

You know, I love how the Word of God speaks to our everyday lives. I too have been seasoned by grief and disappointments in life. Raising children in todays world is just plain hard, but do able with the Lord! I do not have it all together as reading my blog may seem. I have tasted much sorrow over wrong decisions that our older children have made. When our children leave our home they get to make their own choices and that does not necessarily reflect our life choices for them. That has probably been the hardest thing for me as a Momma. As a parent if you take training and teaching the importance of seeking the Lord seriously, it is hard when your children maybe don't do what you taught when they leave your home. But I will tell you, "Momma's and Daddy's don't give up!" Some have to find their way to the Lord on their own the hard way. Letting them do that is probably one of the most painful parts of being a parent. But just as the Father doesn't leave us. I will never leave my children. That is when the only thing I can do is pray. I would encourage Momma's and Daddy's that have children at home "Hide God's Word in their Heart!" It will not leave them when they are old. The Lord does something supernatural in their hearts when they tuck the Word away! Secondly if there are parents that have not done that, it is never to late! If your kids are out of the home, pray the Word of God over them. I have a prayer that I prayed for years as I saw wrong choices in my older children's lives. I blamed myself, if only I would of done this or that. No, they get to choose their own decisions. I did confess though what I knew I had not done wrong, even to them. It was hard to see some of my own bents in them. It was a precious time though when I confessed to them my wrong. It truly is never to late to say we are sorry. I think that is why the good Lord gave us families. We learn so much about life!

Hear is my prayer that I started praying in 2005 for my children.
My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land.
I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them.
I will give them a heart to know me, they will return to me with ALL their heart.
Jeremiah 24:7

Thank you Lord for your promises! I can stand in confidence that you love
my husband, children and grandchildren more then I ever could.

This is my prayer bracelet.

I just put all the initials of all the big kids in the middle and then all
the grandkids initials on the bottom strand. One day they will go through
my things as I have gone through our Dads. They will know that I
loved them and the Lord.

Is anyone concerned for what is happening to our country?
Pray...... he will hear us and act on it!
I was reading this, this morning.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly.
Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders,
gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave
his room and the bride her chamber. Let the priests, who minister before
the Lord, weep between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say, Spare
your people, O Lord. Don not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword
among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,
"Where is their God?"
I think we need to get serious. Please join me, we can make a difference if
we pray!

I know this is kind of a serious post, but it has been heavy on my heart
as I watch choices being made for the next generations. We can
stand together and God will make a difference! Makes me so
sad, can't imagine what it is doing to the heart of God.

On a lite note. We have a 90% chance of snow this afternoon. Oh stink!!!!!!
I have all the little animals all tucked as a bug!
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,

Rosa's Garden Tea Recipe

Fresh Garden Tea
You are welcome to use this picture on
your blog if you like.

I have enjoyed fellowshiping many times when I enter the home of the "Yoder Girls." Grandma "Grosmommy" Yoder, her name is Lydia, Rosa her daughter and Marian the youngest daughter all live toether. I usually come in the back door and it is always filled with colors that would satisfy the eye. Plants, eggs, fresh produce from Rosa's beautiful garden. Rosa would say her garden is not "fancy." I enjoy walking around their little farm and sitting at Granda's table drinking Garden Tea. Both of the girls care for their precious momma. They are my most dear friends (family). They are quiet ladies. A I sit in their home I tend to be a little quieter. Heehee, that is hard for me and sometimes I get them to laughing so hard. We have a wonderful time together. I found the picture above of a day I was down at the girls. I took a picture of this beautiful pitcher and glass filled with their famous "Garden Tea". I knew that one day I would use it on my blog. Since they are talking about snow, I thought I would just bring out the tea and hope that the weatherman doesn't know what he is talking about. If you can find a neighbor with any kind of mint, get some starts. Usually anyone that has it is so willing to share. It spreads like you wouldn't believe. Keep that in mind, don't plant it by anything that you want the mint to take over. Rosa also dries the Apple Mint in the fall. You can lay it out on screens or she takes a sheet and lays it over a bed and lets it dry with a fan on it.

The girls also have a little Tea Room that I help them fix up every fall. They use it a lot during the fall and winter season. So do the other family members, for CHRISTmas parties. It is really a fun place to entertain. If you could ever come and visit me, I will be sure to take you down for some Garden Tea with my special friends (family). They gave me a wire wall hanging. It is one of my favorite treasures.

Almost forgot to tell you!

MY BASIL BABY SEEDS ARE UP!!!!!!!!!!

Looks at these little seeds. They are the sweetest little things.

I just love LIFE! God is so good to give us seeds!

BLESSINGS!

A SWEET ACT OF KINDNESS

Last Saturday I was humbled when I received the Sunshine Blog Award from "Our Bluebell Country." First, thank you so much for the sweet award my friend, Mrs. Homemaker. My prayer clear back when I started my blog was that when ladies came to it, it would be a place of encouragement and a place where they would be built up as precious ladies that the Lord intended for them to be. I had just a few followers back then. This is what I prayed for on the first day of my blog.

Heavenly Father, as I come into your presence I first want you to know that I want to serve you all the days of my life. I know that without you life for me would just not matter. You have been my rock when I just didn’t think I could handle life. You have been a light unto my path, when I needed direction for the next step. You have been my JOY when I was able to see your finger prints all over the circumstances that needed healing. You have been my deliverer when I couldn’t see an escape. You have touched my life, my family and Father for that I call you Faithful. Thank you for holding me in the palm of your clenched fist hand and for not ever letting me go. You are truly my God and I choose to serve you with your help living out my days. Some say you are a crutch, I choose to believe that you are my Savior. I ask that in my writings that others will see your presence in the words and will hold on to you, May they be encouraged and if they have not accepted your gift, I trust today will be the day. I am a grateful woman that has been seasoned by life. Thank you for never leaving me. In Jesus name, Amen.

The Sunshine Award is awarded to bloggers whose positivity & creativity inspires others in the blog world. By earning this award, I have been given the privilege of awarding it to 10 other blogs that I love to read. Mind you, it was so hard to pick just 10. I have so many that I love to follow. Oops I picked 11. Guess it was meant to be!

And my award winners are....

These ladies have followed me and I them for some time. Now for those who don't have your name up here, if I could have I would have put your name up. I have sooooooo many that I absolutely love!!!!!!! I really didn't like it that I had to pick just 10! Oops I picked 11. So I can't count.

Enjoy looking up the different blogs!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. It was filled with much cleaning around our farm. I started with the chicken coop. Yuk! I usually clean the coop in the fall and then again in the winter time. Not!!!! It was cold alllllll winter, so I just let my honey do the honors of feeding all the "Girls" and a few roosters. He is such a sweet man to do that for his honey! Smile! It was so nasty this year. So I wanted you to see what I did. My body is killing me today. Oh, I also had three adorable grand sons out for two days. They played Farmopoly with their Aunt and also helped me a "little" outside. I told them if we cleaned some in the garden they could start a fire. That got them real good! Here is what I did.

This is the entrance to my little" Chicken Coop". The siding is coming off this year and we are going to paint it. I have gone back and forth on what color. Any ideas? It used to be the wash house along time ago. The other day Aunt Evelyn told us that when a tornado came through they were all sitting inside shelling peanuts. They all had to take off to the little milk house for safety. I really don't like tornados. Being an Alaskan girl we didn't have them up there, only earthquakes. That isn't much better. Smile.

I know this isn't a pretty picture, but when you have chickens this is what you get. Sometimes I see these little chicken coops on blogs and they look so clean and cute. Not a real thing! Chickens do two things. Eat and _ _ _ _! I am starting to giggle........... wish they could use the toilet. Heehee. I think I am probably the only one that is laughing right now! It would save me a lot of time!
Now look here, my sweetie "Man" came to rescue me! He is such wonderful good man!!!!!!! Remember Claris? My little 98 year old friend? When she saw "my sweetie" the first time she said, "Well hi Santa Clause!" She isn't funny.
Miss Little Chick" said, " I am not coming down!" I love it when they go up into the loft. She is the "new girl" in the coop! The other girls can be mean, like I told you before and they are.
Oh this makes this farm girl veryyyyyyy happy!

Remember Lily? Well....... now she has a husband. I ordered him last year and they are going to have babies. I hope...... I fixed them all up in a nice homey cage and hopefully she will start laying eggs. After she gets her eggs laid, he will move out and will be safe with here chicks from our cats. I just can't hardly wait!!!!!!! I love babies. Any kind!!!!!

Here is Momma and Poppa White Cochin! I have them in a happy home also. I just so badly want to see if they will have little babies also.

I took this picture out in the chicken coop. I am not sure what they used the hooks for when it was the wash house, but I love it! You are welcome to use this picture
from Prairie Flower Farm,
please put it that it is by us. Thank you!

So that was my day yesterday. Today is to be an other nice day and then they said, snow!
I hope you can read that, because I am not saying it very loud. I hope the weather man is very very wrong! It makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
I love you all bunches! You make my heart smile alllllll the time! Blessings to your day!
Tell me what you are doing today and don't forget to tell me what color you think I should make the coop or you could send me a picture of what color yours is if you have one.
