First I have to tell you this. I am writing this on Monday night. Our neighbors are on a little mini trip and we are caring for their dogs. They have a swimming pool and so we all went up for a bit to swim. Taylor our youngest was the only one that swam.......too cold for the rest of us. Anyway Tay was finished, so we came home. For some reason she thought she should go out and check the horses. When she got out there I could hear her yelling for her Daddy. Juneau our horse was tangled in a rope, laying down on the ground and couldn't move and Tay couldn't get her untied. She is the one that is going to have a baby in the spring. Tay kept yelling, "I need a knife to cut the rope." Long story short Phil got her undone. We were so thankful, one we came home early and two that Tay decided to just go out and check on them. God was so good to our family tonight. We are totally exhausted!!!!!!! Never know why sometimes that we make the choices that we make. It was a good choice tonight.......we are Praising Him.
Now when you look at this picture........don't freak out, if you are a new follower! I had never been married before........I was an unwed mother........not proud of that today or even then........but a very thankful lady, that God is a God of Grace........forgiveness when we ask.........a Redeemer for the faithless.........and a Savior for the lost. He took two very lost people and a little boy........and has given both of us 37 years of beauty. I am so thankful for my sweet man.
The story is in two places, if you want to read. Here and Here. I would so love for you to leave me your love story in the comment or on an email. I LOVE stories about real people.
So Mr. Sweet man (he reads my posts).........just for the record.........you are the most "preciousness" that has ever happened in my life, besides when Jesus accepted me! The next was when you blessed me with a loving Home for all of our children. Thank you for praying for me everyday.
Happy Anniversary! Ugh we have to work in the kitchen on our special day.......heehee.....God said it was okay!
Hugs sweet ladies and thanks again for leaving the sweetness in my comments today!
Linda

ReplyDeleteNever a dull moment on the farm, huh? (I assume this was NOT the neighbor whose dogs ravaged your birds...)
ReplyDeleteI believe the Lord has some wonderful surprises for you as your share your love working together on campus today. Oh, how He loves us!
I am always amazed at what our God can do! We will be celebrating 40 years next month, and I can testify to the grace and mercy of our God. We were THIS close to divorce after 7 ugly years of marriage, when we both got saved. Can't say it has been an easy road, but I would not have it any other way. God is good, all the time.

Grace, how can one explain that, you need to experience it to know true grace! Thank you Jesus for your grace! Love the story. "He is a father to the fatherless" Your story is an earthly example of it. For my love story: the first day of a class I took for my associates degree, I saw Al, I knew the momement I saw him that I would marry him. I didn't know how I would do it, but I knew that he was "mine". Several times in my life, I feel, spiritually, God had revealed things to me and still does. I'm not trying to sound "weird", however, I had exprienced that "feeling" before, you know the "still small voice" so I knew God directed it. Sure enough, in about 2 months, he finally talked to me. He said that he noticed that I would stare at him during class....I was so shy, I never had a boyfriend before. I invited him to church and the rest is history. Blessings from Wisconsin!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing this post is to all of us who are familiar with the grace and mercy of God who forgives, heals, and gives us delight in walking with Him daily. Praise God!

ReplyDeleteMay the Lord bless you two with many, many more wonderful years to come.
Linda, you always bless me, especially today!
ReplyDeleteA good marriage is the greatest blessing, next to salvation, isn't it? We are right in the middle of 38 years and it seems like yesterday some times....but then I would have to wonder where these kids and grandkids came from! LOL
When I look in his eyes, I still get weak in the knees and feel like a new bride.
Love your picture! It is precious, so sweet!
Giving thanks that Juneau is okay. So glad Taylor felt lead to go check.
BTW - I know you are busy, but try to read this post of Ann's. It will bless you, lots!!

Blessings!
Sending my very best wishes for many more years together! And I am so thankful that you were spared additional grief with the horse. God is so good.
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading everyone's comments and stories. I think that I told you that my sweetheart and I went to elementary school together for 6 years. Then,I moved and didn't see him until college, but that's not when we got together. I looked him up when we were 24 and that was all she wrote! I knew he was the one and so did my parents and grandparents. We had all been praying for many years that God would send me the one He had for me. We just had our 25th anniversary. It has flown by.
I am always amazed (no matter how many times it happens) when God or the Holy Spirit tells us to do something, call someone, or go check on something like Taylor's horse situation. When I think about all the things that go on in a day, in a lifetime, on this planet it shows me what a mighty God we serve. HE guides our footsteps each day if we ask Him and allow Him to do so. This is why my life's verse is Romans 8:28 "And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to those that are called according to His purpose."
Happy 37th Anniversary, Phil and Linda!
Love,
Susan
Happy Anniversary to both of you! May God give you many more blessed years!
