Good morning sweet ladies,

All day yesterday I ran from the garden watered 4 tomatoes.....ran back to the house.......worked on the new pattern......ran back a half hour later.....watered 4 more tomatoes.......that was my life until late last night. Oh and I did get to talk with some on facebook.......my favorite part of my day!!!!!!! I am so tired of this pattern.......it can't be finished soon enough. My Tressy is scanning all the diagrams and we will be ready to clip the images into the pattern...........whewwwww. Hopefully after today I will do the photo shoot. I have not heard from the company.....sooooo I am just going to get it out there on my own. Hopefully you might help me. If you could tell your favorite Quilt Shop about it......once I get to show you...that would be wonderful! It is for the Quilter or Crafter.

"Sweetie Tomato Pin Keep"

Okay......it has been so hard to just sit at my computer......day after day.........typing and typing on the new pattern.......so today it is time for a
PRAIRIE FLOWER FARM PARTY....
Ending on Friday June 29th at noon

while I keep typing away and proofing!  I have seen these pin keeps out on the web and had my own idea of what I wanted mine to look like!!!!!!!! Guess what......woke up this morning.....walked out to my garden (in my favorite attire)...........and one had just grown on my tomato plant......totally amazing..........JUST KIDDING!  Feeling a little goofy...looking at a screen all day will do it to ya!

  5. Love the sweetie tomato pin keep just beautiful. I share the picture on my fb new feed for all my friends to see I know many of them will love it as much as me. This one is so adorable and also brings back memories of my mothers pin keep that she had that was tomato shaped and had a attached strawberry shape attached filled with sand to sharpen the pins as they became dull. Love reading your blog kedithb@yahoo.com

  6. I'm a friend on Facebook and let a message there. I'm a accidental sewer. In jr high, I worked on a pair of PJ the whole semester. My teacher said if I could finish it by the end she would give me an A for all the effort. I can do simple things (shorts for my kids when they were little, simple kitchen curtains, repairs, and cutting off pants cause I'm short. My love of sewing is cross stitch. And I do use a pin cushion for all my needles. Gonna save my old pin cushion from my jr high years for my granddaughter.

  18. Very cute! I would love to win it!

As to what I have been doing, well, mostly it is just the usual busyness of working on my Sunday School lesson, housework, meal preparation, etc. But over the the weekend I did finish all of the felt food I have been making for a friend's children. And also over the weekend, my hubby and I did 2 things we've been wanting to do for several summers now. We went strawberry picking together, and one evening we went to a collegiate league baseball game. So much fun -- a perfect summer evening to watch baseball -- and inexpensive too.

Oh! And I just got word from Gooseberry Patch that they will be using another of my recipes in an upcoming cookbook!

I tried to planr some four o'clocks in my big planter! Nothing! :( I am so sad. It so hot here and we are surrounded by fires. Nine of them! Very sad for those I know nearer to them and we can see the Boudler fire and our eyes are burning and the air is thick and smoggy! Such a difficult summer so far. Lots of prayer going on! Love visiting you.

  32. Hi Linda,
How cute is your Sweet Tomato Pin Keep! Today has been a busy day! This morning I went to VBS and helped with snacks for the children. We made a beaver with an ice cream cup with chocolate in top, two mini marshmallows for teeth, two M&M's for eyes and a cookie for the tail. So cute! At noon had to go to the VA to get a TB test. My husband and I are volunteering at the VA Hospital here in town. Came home for lunch. Then made some Blueberry Bars, and two Sweet Cherry Pies. After that I worked on the quilt that I am making for my daughter and her husband for their 25th Anniversary. Then it was time to make dinner. After dinner I took our dog for a walk. Now I am sitting down and reading my Facebook messages and emai. Always enjoy reading your blog! You have been a blessing to me. May God bless you and your family.

  36. We are making pin cushions this month in our quilt guild....exploring different styles and such. I love the tomato + strawberry one I got from my mom years ago; the shape is just right, so I'm muchly in favor of yours. It's just yummy perfect....the broad base sits well when you're stabbing (is that too graphic?). Anyway, congrats on a great new pattern. I want one. There. I've said it. Thanks for all you do on the blog....it helps so much....especially the prayers....

  37. Very cute! I would love to have one of these. I might have to purchase one sometime soon. My daughter and I now how two baby tomatoes growing on our plants. Makes the hard work so worthwhile. We have had a few small beans, though they have come one at a time so far and have ended up being dissected, not eaten. :-) I love the curiosity of a two year old.

  48. Once again you have come up with something so darn cute! What a talented lady you are. Hot here in Wisconsin today as well, sounds like it will be this way for a few days with little to no chance of rain. Good thing we filled a couple of water barrels the last rain so I should have plenty to water the plants & garden. Our green bean plants look really nice & are blossoming can't wait for the beans, one of my favorite garden items. Thanks again for the wonderful blog!

  49. Oh I do love this sweetie tomato! You do come up with the cute stuff!Living in Wyoming right now is a bit rough on the breathing right now. But you would fill my bountiful basket like the one i gave you for your birthday. Miss you sisser. Love you bunches

  50. This little tomato is adorable hun; it would look PERFECT on my antique sewing machine. :) My grandson (Hayden) has just come to live with us; (please read my post on my blog about his trip) :( to make a long story short; he was left in TEXAS by a so called friend of his mothers and he HITCH HIKED from there to Colorado; to me. I had NO IDEA this was happening; until he showed up at my door; dirty, hungry & sunburnt from walking. He said "Grandma I prayed and right after that a nice lady picked me up and gave me $50, then when she dropped me off a nice truck driver picked me up and drove out of his way to bring me to you." I cried; God does answer prayers; he watched over my dear Grandson (age 16) and brought him to me. I thought of you dear new friend. :)

    Hugs, Shar

I went to my quilt club this morning and we talked about the bus trip to Des Moines, IA, in October for the quilt show. Went to lunch with a friend and did some computer work in the afternoon and prayer service at church this evening. I am working on a baby quilt tomorrow for our grandson on the way. I love your tomato pin keep. I have a tomato shaped store bought one but it is really ugly next to yours. :D Love your creativity! ♥ This is my vote 1. Donna

  54. I think your pin cushion is adorable. On my to do list is a future blog post about the pin cushion I brought back from Japan in 1984. It's handmade by elderly women in a nursing home there. Their caregivers painted on the faces after the residents hand stitched the pin cushions. I'm sure you'll love it, and I'll send you a note when I do publish that blog post.
It may be awhile though because we're heading out to visit family in a few days. Take care Linda, I'm really glad to see you enjoying your summer vacation from work.

  65. My 92 yr old mother who has late-stage Alzheimer's taught me how to sew. She had a red tomato pin keep that had a baby tomato attached that was used to sharpen needles. I don't know whatever happened to that but I have so many memories of seeing that sitting next to her sewing machine for as long as I can remember.

  66. I am waiting for the rain to begin again, we have had plenty but more is coming. Some place in Canada are flooding.

We cleaned up a fallen tree and a corner of the yard. Now I have a new place to plant some pretty daisies. I love daisies, my Grandmother put some in my hair when I graduated from high school, let's see now, 34 years ago. One piece of the tree trunk had a wood pecker nest, it's about 6 inches around and 15 inches deep. I will plant a flower in it. Enjoy your day.

AND-- A magic tomato plant that grows pin keeps? Cute!
One of my favorite children's books is Stuart's Cape by Sara Pennypacker & illustrated by Martin Matje. Stuart has a magic cape and one day he finds toast seeds in it's pocket which he plants and grows 'toast'.
