Another Review from the Gooseberry Patch 101 Farmhouse Favorites Cookbook!

Hello sweet ladies,

When I got home I ran and I mean ran out to check on Willow. Bless her heart she is still just getting bigger.

Her utter is getting really big......so at least we are getting closer right? I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!!!!! I thought since some of you ladies have never been on a farm, this might be interesting to see where she nurses her little ones. PRECIOUS! God thought of everything! She would probably not be pleased with me if she knew I showed you this......don't tell her!!!!!!

After I checked on Willow I went around the farm to gather the eggs from the nesting boxes. My sweet man had been gathering them for the last few days.....or so I thought. He must of thought I was gathering the long Hen pen.......three nesting boxes were full of eggs. Don't they look pretty?  Love it when I see lots of eggs! Taking three dozen to work tomorrow to sell!

Okay......it is time for another ...............

We eat our big meal at the college at lunch time... so when we get home we always eat light. Tonight I thought I would try this recipe........

it is called the best........and it was!!!!!!!

Here is the recipe
The Best Chicken Noodle Soup

16- oz. pkg. thin egg noodles, uncooked
12. c. chicken broth
1-1/2 T. salt
1 t. poultry seasoning
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. onion, chopped
1 c. carrots, peeled and chopped
1/3. c. cornstarch
1/4 c. cold water
4 c. cooked chicken, diced

Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside. Meanwhile, combine broth, salt and poultry seasoning in a very large pot; bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in vegetables; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Combine cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl; gradually add to soup, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in chicken and noodles; heat through, about 5 to 10 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.

Thought I would also make these rolls to go with.

 Lighter-Than-Air Potato Rolls from the

Family Dinner Favorites section.

Lighter-Than-Air Potato Rolls

1/2 c. instant mashed potato flakes
1 t. sugar
2 T. butter, softened
1/2 c. hot water
1/3 c. cold water
2 c. biscuit baking mix
*(used a recipe to make it from scratch, don't buy it)
In a bowl, stir together potato flakes, sugar, butter and hot water. Add cold water and baking mix; stir until a soft dough forms. Gently form dough into a ball on a floured surface; knead 8 to 10 times. Roll out (I just patted) into a 10" by 6" rectangle. Cut into 1 squares; arrange on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until golden. Makes one dozen.

When I was on my vacation I bought this adorable sunflower chicky, I filled it with honey...perfect! I spread butter with my new little butter knife and drizzled honey on top of the rolls. Nummy for a light supper.

  3. Linda, You should fix the recipe. I don't think you really want 14 cups of water to mix with the corn starch.

I can't wait for Willow to have her baby or babies.
Loved all those eggs. Wish I lived close enough to buy them.

  4. I saw the babies were born on Face Book! I like Caleb and Samuel. I was thinking about the Lord and what he said here: But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16: 7 Been thinking about this all day! I love the eggs! Wish I were close. I would buy some of them from you1 My momma always bought eggs from the "Egg Lady" as she was known. My folks drove a long way to buy fresh eggs. I sure miss those days! Love that I was able to see the sweet lambie pie photo at Face Book
