Dear Sweet Ladies,
I house some of my chickens down in the little milk barn instead of out in the big chicken house. They have been down there ever since the bobcat came through and killed so many. The girls are just starting to lay eggs. When I walked into the milk barn to gather the eggs I looked in one of their favorite nesting places for eggs.......this kitty was sound asleep in the nest. Looked so funny......... had to show you...........thought you might enjoy!!
Oh remember when I told you yesterday that my little white cochin layed her first egg? Well my friend Regina said to put 1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar to 1 gallon of water and feed it to your chickens daily.........I tried it and it is working!!!!!! Thought you chicken girls would like to know this.
While I was at work I was organizing the store room. Look what I found. This adorable little foot stool. What a fun treasure........I am sure it is quite old. I am going to copy the pattern and make one just like it. When I get the measurements and instructions if anyone would like I will give you the pattern. It really is so cute.
We have some pretty exciting news. As you all know our son's family is adopting Vitaliy from the Ukraine. Their family will have to go over and visit for a week first. Then Tonya (daughter in love) will have to go back and pick him up on another trip. She will have to go for 3 weeks. Josh will not be able to go with. She had a friend that was going to go......but can not go at this time...... so our daughter Tressa will be going with her. She is so excited.......I am not sure if this Momma is. smile. I so want her to go, but with all that is happening in the world it makes me a little nervous. I will get over it as I trust her with the Lord. Tonight I asked Tress if she was scared, she said......."I may be scared......but the fact that I will get to bring Vitalily Home makes it all worth it!!!!!! What a blessings she is to me!!!!!!! Please....... if you wouldn't mind pray for our Tressa. She has always wanted to do something like this and now Lord willing she will be going. You can pray for me also.......thank you....I am going to need it!!!!!!
Be strong and courageous!!!
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous!! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your GOD is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Trust in the Lord with ALL your HEART and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM, and HE will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3 5-6
Precious truths............ for me.
Did you do anything special today? I have been sewing on some orders....... makes me relax after a day in the kitchen. Tressa made some apple dumplings for dessert tonight. Very good!!
Thank you for the donations!!!!! May the Lord bless you for your kindness to our family.
Thank you for stopping by........I love it when you do!
Hugs from my farm to your HOME!
Linda
What a cute photo of the kitty and the egg. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers during your adoption process. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteHello Dawn........thank you so much for praying. It really is very exciting, but I am going to have to trust my Lord! I will stay close to Him!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
The adoption process takes so much out of a person I'm sure but God will provide strength.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda!
ReplyDeleteWe have had stray cats come sleep in our chickens' nests. Wouldn't they be surprised if the eggs hatched during their sleep!
The stool is really cute! I wonder how you will use it? I bet you have the perfect place/use for it.
I have heard of putting vinegar in the chickens water but what does it do for them? And I didn't think garlic was good for chickens ~ makes the eggs taste funny. :~O
Will surely be praying for you, your girl and Vitaliy!
Blessings!
Thank you, Linda, for your nice comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will say a prayer. I understand how hard it is to have a child travel outside of the country. I will pray for her safety and for you.
The picture of the kitty is adorable.
That is a great idea to copy that step stool!!

Hello Parsley........yes it is a little stressful..........but the end will be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh my Lady Farmer........is that true? on the garlic? I would not want to lead anyone a stray. Please help me here! My friend said it was so good for worms. I am going to take this off until I know more. The little stool will be in my kitchen........so my little 3 year old can sit.......and we can talk. It will be perfect for him.....he will like! Thank you so for praying.
Dear Linda, Wow, so exciting about Vitaliy. It won't be much longer now!!! I"ll be praying for safe travel for everyone :) :)
ReplyDeleteOH, my heart just about melted when I saw that kitten sleeping next to the egg :) :) Keeping the egg warm and getting a good cat nap at the same time :) :) :) That was just the cutest thing ever :) :)
Have a blessed week, Linda. I'm also really happy to hear that you have orders to work on :) :) That's exciting. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
Oh Linda... What a precious picture...I could just ((hug)) that kitty as I would gather the egg she seems to be protecting...smile... What a blessing all your farm animals are to you and us!! Yes, they do make me smile too...
ReplyDeleteYou know you and your family along with V are in my prayers daily. I shall add an extra one during this time... I can only imagine how you feel...Thank God literly for His protection over Tess and your family.

If you could pray for my DH and granddaughter today I would so appreciate it. Both are heading to the Doctors today..
Good Morning, Linda!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post today - such exciting news (all around!)...
Tressa is a beautiful girl and for sure, such a blessing to your family. She has an opportunity before her to be a blessing to another human being. She is laying down her own fears to make a difference in someone else's life. What a special special girl!
Have a wonderful day!

Perhaps I missed something but what is the reason for "1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar to 1 gallon of water and feed it to your chickens daily........."? I am curious since my daughter and her husband raise a few chickens.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the kitty with the egg and don't worry about your daughter - things always work out in the end and worrying is a waste of your time. (I know it easier said than done - so just breathe.)
1st of all ~ the pic of the kitty w/the egg is precious...then... I thought, "maybe she's waiting for it to HATCH!" lol
ReplyDeleteI hope your DD & DIL have an incredible, SAFE time getting that precious little one. What memories & what a bonding time between the 3 of them.
So appreciated your verses, today...they have been on my heart lately, too.
Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><
Hi, Linda: I love the little kitten picture. So sweet! I will definitely take the measurements of the little primitive stool. It is priceless. If you put it on e-bay you could retire...well maybe not retire but I know you would make some $$. I will be praying for the adoption. A couple in church did that and the little boy from Korea is so sweet and we all wait for him to say AMEN after each song. He is a doll and they never even mention the trip....it was long that is all they can remember. Love all your verses...some were part of my Bible Study this morning. Did you have to mention the apple dumplings?? I am going to watch Dr. Phil. Love ya. Mary S.
ReplyDeleteLinda - That will be such a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Tressa!!! We loved our time in Ukraine, and they should be going during the warmer months which makes it lovely. It gets pretty hot, but I was just saying to Brad the other night that I couldn't imagine having gone in the dead of winter. There is a ton of walking involved, and it gets really bitter cold over there! Tonya will so appreciate the company of having Tressa with her. I was so thankful that Brad was able to get the time off so we could be over there together.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I received my seeds today from my seed partner and a wonderful letter telling me about herself and her wonderful family. I didn't know that was what I was suppose to do, so since I already sent my seeds, I will send a letter telling her about my life and family too. I feel bad for not having done that with the seeds. Please let Regina know that a letter is coming her way and one to you too.
ReplyDeleteJan

Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty. My daughter is a chicken lover and really loves all of your chicken pictures. I have a question what does the Apple Cider Vinegar and water do for the chickens?
Thanks,
Trinity Rose aka Wanda
Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteThat verse from Joshua was our memory verse last week! I know I've been worrying about things recently & have been quite challenged to leave it in the Lord's hands.
Thank you for sharing - looking forward to hearing all about V's adoption!
Such a sweet photo! Your family is in my prayers my friend. I was told 2 Tablespoons per gallon once a week for health. Golly are you saying it will boost the egg laying?
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, the farm seems like such a wonderful place. Full of beautiful surprises each day. It's so good that you take your camera with you for unexpected moments like this. I love it and appreciate you sharing the beauty with us. I will be praying for Tressa and you. As I get older I get more nervous about being so adventurous.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day darlin'...Tracy :)
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteLove the pic - if only we as humans could be so loving to accept things that are different than what we know. Praying for traveling mercies for your family and that God will put a hedge of protection around them. I love the stool and would love the measurments - I know exactly what I am going to do with it. Thanks - and Blessings to you.
