It's Me

Good morning,

Planned on putting up a post. Instead I spent time walking around my farm this morning to dead animals, chickens and ducks. THE huge St.Bernard was back, killed chickens, ducks and found at least one baby kitten dead. Now I have to leave and go to work. I really wish I could stay Home. Man, life can be so hard sometimes. Wish I had happier things to say . Better not talk..........my heart is not doing real well. Don't we all have days like that? Wish neighbors would keep their dogs on their own farms.........I have had so many killed by their dogs. Think this time I am going to give them a bill.

Please would you pray for me today...... I want to be an example of Christ.

Sorry no Building our Homes today.........it will be next week. Thank you Mrs. T. for leaving us a place of refuge yesterday to come to.

Blessings,

Linda

  1. Linda...I'm so sorry for this news. I have dealt with neighbor dog problems out here in the country as well.

It's time for a talk with them. They need to be given the change to 'right' things as best they can.

It is a struggle to know where the line is for a Christian but still demand justice. God will strengthen you and give you wisdom.

  4. Sorry about the loss of your animals. From someone who hasn't had their neighbors talk to them in almost 6 years....let it go. Even when you are in the right....and others see you are in the right....and you have your town chairman stating so at a town meeting.....those types of people will do and say and believe what that want. If they haven't tied their dogs up yet...they aren't gonna....Blessings from Wisconsin!

  6. I know how difficult this is for you. I hate to even see dead animals, let alone have something come in and kill those you have worked so hard to raise.

Praying for you today, may God give you both wisdom and courage.

    Love you!

  7. Linda, this just breaks my heart..We are dog owners..we don't live in the country, but we did at one point, and our dogs were contained. We knew that if one of our dogs got out and killed someones livestock the owner of those critters had the legal right to shoot our dog..I know that is severe but it was enough to make folks keep their dogs penned up. Is your town aware of these dog folks? I would imagine other neighbors have also had problems..time for someone to be made aware of the devastation their dog is causing..
    Prayers for you dear friend..

  8. Sorry about the loss, Linda. I know it hurts. As Parsley said, it is hard to know where the line is for a Christian. You want above all else to maintain your testimony to these people. Sometimes, as Dicky Bird noted, it is best to just let it go. Many times there are things as Christians that we have a right to do, but it's just better to let it go. A lot depends upon the personalities of the neighbors involved. For some you could simply let them know that this has happened (again) and simply let them know how sad you felt about it. For others, you might to just want to leave it alone, knowing that these people are probably not going to tie their dogs up no matter what. Above all, remember that God is sovereign and that He has allowed this sad event for some reason -- maybe so that you can be a testimony to some other folks who have been watching your lives.

Will be praying for you! Let the joy of the Lord be your strength!

  9. Linda,

My heart hurts for what you are having to deal with. I understand too well, from many years back, the scene you have had to deal with. It is hearbreaking.
My prayers go with you today. May He grant you peace, strength and comfort.

Please know that we are all keeping you and your family in prayer as you begin this journey back to work. I do not often understand why He allows us such pain and trouble at times. But I do know that He holds us up if we allow Him too. I know that you and your family walk that walk each day. You are a blessing to each of us and we are thankful that you share it all with us, both the good and the bad times.

Will be thinking of you and praying for you today!

May God comfort and bless you today,
    Linda

  10. Oh, Dearest, I'm so very, very sorry for your losses. Yes, I think it may be time to talk to them ~ frankly & calmly ~ about the destruction their dog has caused, especially if you have proof it was their dog AND it hasn't been the 1st time. A bill sounds like a place to start. I hate to say it, but it may be time to report it to the law.

But I will be praying for a willing restoration simply between their family & yours.

    Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><

  11. I am so sorry for your loss of innocent animals. I live in a suburb and our neighbor thinks leash laws don't apply to them so problems with restraining animals is everywhere. I hope you can get this issue resolved in a Christian manner.

  12. Killer St. Bernards? Never heard of that. There is a saying about fences making for good neighbours. Is there no law enforcement body that can do anything to help?
My thoughts and prayers are with you today.

  13. Oh I am so sorry to hear this. We had a fox early summer that tore up one chicken, carried one off and scattered the rest all over. We were out in the rain looking for them for hours. It does just rattle your cage doesn't it. My daughter lost a couple of chickens to a neighborhood dog also. It is to sad because once they kill fowl or anything little they seem to continue for sport. It is too bad because it is the owners fault for not taking better care of their pets.

  14. Gosh Linda, I'm sick. I so hate to hear this news because I've certainly been there - we've lost chickens, rabbits, goats, and sheep too many times. Even good neighbors can be totally unreasonable about their dogs. I certainly am praying for you!

  15. Linda,

I have no words but tears and achy heart, so I'll just add more callouses to my knees.

Our Father, who art in heaven
    hallowed be thy Name,
    thy kingdom come,
    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
    And forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those
    who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.
    For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
    for ever and ever.
    Amen.

  19. Hi Linda.. So sorry about all that.. It happened to us years ago when we had geese and the neighbor's dog killed them .. They were laying, too. I still feel bad about it but we notified them kindly, I must add but they did nothing.. It is so frustrating because you can't really fix it...
    Take care dear girl..

  20. Linda,
Been praying for you throughout the day. I hate that your neighbors have put you in this situation again. You are way more restrained than I would be. From what I have always heard, people take care of that kind of loss by shooting the dog/animal that habitually kills their pets and livestock.
    Hope your evening is better.
    Love you,
    Susan

  21. I think talking would be a good thing. I had the same thing happen to. I had called the cops and asked if there was a penelty when it happened again. It is know that the offense of haveing a dog running is a fine of $500. I finely called the neighbors at the third time and told them that the fine was and I would be shoting any dog in my yard which was not my own, It is backed by the law of protecting my livestock. It never happened again from dogs.

  25. It is Saturday morning and this is the first chance I have had to write back. Spent more time at the cafeteria this last week than I thought I would have to.

Parsley thank you for the sweetness. We talked, they denied......we are keeping it on them! Nothing we can do but prosecute. That costs. I have all my poultry shut up in cages. The two that were killed in a cage has boards all around. It will work! Hugs!

Gail, It isn't cool is it? Guess we ourselves get to live the way we want towards others.I will keep praying they will be honest. Hugs!

Hi Gert, so nice to hear from you. Thank you for praying......probably why I am doing well. I try to take it back and then I give it to the Lord. Still hurts. Hugs!

Dicky Bird, how horrible! We haven't talked to ours either, but we really don't come in contact. We see them drive by, but our home is far up a lane. That helps! Hugs!

Hey Crazy Farm, so nice to see you here on my blog. Thank you for the prayers.........sweetness on your part! Hugs!

Hello Prairiemaid. Hope you are feeling better......thanks for the prayers........so sweet of you! Holding on here! Hugs!

Hi Barb, loved what you wrote. So true what they used to do. Now with animal rights we think more about animals living not what they might have done to your farm. You can get into a lot of trouble killing someones dog. Not right! People have to take responsibility.......they don't anymore. Crazy world we live in. Thank you for praying! It was so noticed! Hugs!

Mrs. T. Yup!!!! You said it well. This is about the 5th time their dogs have done this. Sick! We just pray for their hearts. It hasn't gone unnoticed by God. Good place to keep it, even though I really have to wrestle!!!!!!!! Bible says my heart is wicked........I would like to get real mad..........He is keeping me from that. Smile! Hugs!

Thank you so much Linda for praying! He did comfort me and is still doing so. Thanks so for your encouragement. Precious! Hugs!

Hey Marmee girl! Didn't help........they won't take responsibility. Leaving it is the Lord's hands........He is my defender. Want these people to know there is a way to walk. They have to live with themselves. Praying for them. Hugs!

Hi Texan girl, People have become so unruly..........sad, our country has changed! Hugs!

Dolores, you made me laugh when I read your first sentence. Needed a break in my heart for sure! We had to work so much the last two days. We are calling a friend who is a Sheriff. Hope he can give us some counsel.

  26. Hello Brenda. It is horrible isn't it? Yes, they have been back many time. Straight path to their farm in the field. Ugly. Thanks for writing me. Hugs!

Hi Kathleen, oh how sad on the rabbits, goats and sheep! The sad thing is the neighbors don't take responsibility even when the dogs are theirs. One day it will be taken care of. I am glad I can rest in the Lord for sure!
    Hugs!

Karrieann.....love the the scripture and the picture that you were on your knees on behalf of my family. Thank you friend! Hugs!

Thank you Amy for the prayers. Much needed these last few days. Know the Lord has heard you all! Precious! Hugs!

Hello, Aunt Lodi, Yes terrible! Thank you for the prayers........so kind! Hugs!

Mecky, so nice to hear from you.......so nice for your prayers. Hope we can meet someday since we don't live that far from each other! Hugs!

Hi Fay, Isn't that so strange that people will do nothing? I would feel so horrible if it was our dog. I couldn't just not reimburse them. Different world out there. Hugs!

Hello Susan......thank you. Loved the text messages. They got me through the day at work. Hugs!

Hi Kathy......thank you.........tried to do what was right. It doesn't take the heartache away. I will get over it, like before! This morning I went outside and the little bantie rooster was cock a doodling. Made my heart sing! Mr Red Rooster that got killed always stood high on something and woke the farm up........miss him! Hug's

Hello Pauline.........I know what you mean! Not AGAIN! The Lord is close and thank you for leaving a comment! So sweet and also for praying! Hugs!

Rebecca, you are so sweet. If you ever want to leave a personal email it is up at the top right corner of blog in About me, life can sure be hard.......doing it right now! Thank you for following my blog. Hope I can be a blessing to you, you were that to me! Hugs!

Thank you sweet friends for the prayers. I know that the Lord heard them. I would want to get real mad and my heart was softened. The neighbors need prayer and they are getting it!!!!!! Good thing!

Hugs from my farm to your precious HOMES!

  27. Linda, I am so sorry. That is so horrible and heart wrenching. They should receive a bill, though nothing will replace the hurt that happened to all the little lives.

  28. I am so sorry for all the losses on your precious farm. People can be so self centered. We walk/run and the city has signs posted that all dogs must be on a lease! There are so many dogs, nice and not running free. I get so upset. I will pray. I am heart broken for you. Anne
