Create & Decorate Party/Prairie Flower Farm Party

Hi All You Sweet Ladies,

It is so cold outside..........couldn't believe the sweet fresh smelling air coming through my sunshiny window this morning when I woke up. I got to sleep in!!!!!!!!! SO NICE! My bones needed it! Running around all day in the kitchen makes one tired and sore by the end of the week. So today I have a surprise. I am so excited to tell you about it, but first are any of you thinking about your CHRISTmas gifts? Do you realize it is the first day of October? I have been adding new ideas to my PINTEREST (on my sidebar) for sometime.  I need to start thinking seriously about what I am going to be stitching up for my sweet family this year and that takes some doing! CHRISTmas is my favorite time of year. I love thinking about my Savior coming as a sweet little baby to save those who want to put their trust in HIM and I love giving. It is one of my favorite thing to do and that is why I like having parties! I can't wait to show you..............

I got my new Create & Decorate in the mail last week and guess what.........I AM IN IT! I am so excited to share it with you all! I received two and so two will be what I am giving away! This party I will give you some more chances to let you have more votes. If you only want to do one don't feel any pressure to do more. Some girls just like to have more chances.

Here is what I designed for Create & Decorate magazine. Little wool mittens with covered buttons made into snowman heads, grungy little snowflakes..........and a pattern for an easy mitten to make! I have made these for each family member with a paper rolled up/tied with a ribbon and put it into the mitten. The paper signed with everyones signature written on it. A keepsake for sure!

So what are we celebrating..............TRESSA, TONYA AND V should be "LORD Willing" COMING HOME in a week. Now that is something to celebrate wouldn't you say?
So let the Party Begin!!!!!!!

WE will have two winners
The party will start today and end Sat. at noon central time October 15th!!!!!!!!! Hopefully that will be the HOMECOMING day!!!!!

There will be two that will receive

One Create & Decorate Magazine
and one hand stitched Wool Mitten

  5. Christmas is such a special time to me. I guess my favorite memories are of Chrismas Eve Candlelight services at church. It is so wonderful being with family and friends celebrating Christ's birth and taking The Lord's Supper. Most of the church lights are off and we all hold candles. It is really awesome.

  9. Great party Linda! Congrats on being published!

My favorite CHRISTmas memory? How our family used to gather together and spend the whole day at my great grandma's house. That hasn't happened in years, which makes me sad, but at least I have the memories!

  13. We had those silver tinsel trees growing up and thought it was the coolest thing. also had a light that rotated and changed colors. I loved shuting off the lights and just watching the tree change colors.

Thanks for the chance to win.

  22. My favorite Christmas memory is Christmas of 1998. My husband and I had been married for 7.5 years and we did not think we would have children as he had not been around babies before my niece and he wasn't sure what sort of dad he'd be....even though I knew he'd be great. Well come Christmas 1998, after we'd opened a few gifts to each other, he told me to get the card out of the tree. I had not even noticed it but hidden between the branches was a card addressed to me. In the card, he told me that he was ready to try to have a baby =)

  33. Congrats Linda! You are so deserving. Your crafts are sweet and lovely - just like you!
My favorite Christmas memory is from Christmas Eve several years ago. My husband and I packed our kids, our advent wreath, a cd player and a cd with some of our favorite music. We drove to one of our favorite spots in the mountains. The view is breathtaking, forest and stars, no lights from anything else and almost total silence. We lit the four outer candles and then lit the Christ candle. We just stood quietly in the snow looking at the stars and thinking of our wonderful Savior. Precious time to us before the hectic joy of Christmas day.

  36. Hey Linda,
So lovely to see you being published again.
A favourite Christmas memory for me is about 7 years ago, my family invited an international student that we were friends with to our house for Christmas. She had never celebrated Christmas before. We took her to church and she joined our family celebrations, and it was so special to be able to share the real meaning of Christmas with her.
I hope that this coming Christmas is a truly special time as you celebrate it with V as part of your family.
    God bless,
    Selina.

  37. Lovely to see you in the magazine ( just realised I began the same way my sis did :) )
My favorite Christmas memory ~ well I love the Christmases at Mum & Dad's & growing up, but I also love our Christmases here with our children & the last two we have invited our neighbours in as they don't have anything planned with their family. It's always wonderful having people who are lonely at Christmas around & it helps take the focus on missing the family who aren't.
    Blessings
    Renata:)

  57. Hi Linda,

Here is a favorite Christmas memory of mine from many years ago. I hope it isn't too long, but it's one of my most precious memories:

It was a busy year. Our kids had changed schools and I was working at their new school as a teachers' aide. I enjoyed the work and it was great being able to be with the kids all day. But it often meant not getting home until nearly 5 p.m. I was doing well to get a meal prepared each evening -- and sometimes I
would start that the minute I came in the door, still wearing hat, coat, and boots. (I did take my mittens off.)
It really looked as if no cookie baking would take place at our house that Christmas. There were going to be two disappointed little girls
who had grown to love our tradition of baking many different kinds of cookies to share with family, friends and neighbors.. I don't know who came up with the solution in the end, but we decided that Carrie, a third grader at the time, could make all the dough and we could bake the cookies in the evenings. She could easily read and follow a recipe and seldom had homework, so it was a workable solution. So we looked over our recipes and decided which ones we simply had to make. Carrie made up a batch or two of dough each evening and we would bake as many cookies as we had time to before bedtime. I have never forgotten and never will forget the sacrifice of time and effort on this little girl's part. The cookie tradition went on!

  61. I am a follower as well as a subscriber .My favorite Christmas memory is when I was a student nurse and there was a blizzard on Christmas eve so nothing was moving and the students that were there had to get up at around 4am and go to the kitchen in the hospital and make breakfast for the patients as none of the kitchen staff was able to get there ,further more we had to pass these out to the patients and I remember it being the most joyous Christmas ever , we sang carols to them and everyone was so jolly it was truly a blessing to be there in that storm to make those patients comfortable yet enjoy the best Christmas ever and not once was I sad that I didn't get home to be with my parents even though it was my first Christmas away .

  62. Hi, Linda! - I'm a little late joining in here - but better late than never, I suppose! Anyhoo - just couldn't miss out on the fun!

    1. So my favorite Christmas memory happened when I was about 9 or 10 years old. We were living in colorado, and had had a blizzard earlier that week. That Christmas Day, after we had opened our gifts and enjoyed the wonderful dinner Mom had made - my Dad and I went out to make a snowman - what fun! Then, when the neighborhood kids saw us out there having such a good time, they all wanted to join in! We built some great snow forts (my Dad showed us how!)and we had a whale of a good snowball fight!

I just can't wait to try some of the projects. Christmas is my time to collect and deliver to those who don't have much - it just makes me feel good to help in some way.

Love to you and your sweet family!
    Keep up the great work!

  67. Two Christmases ago I was sick with pneumonia Christmas week. I didn't come home until Christmas eve. Nothing was ready when I went into the hospital. The kids and hubby did a great job making it the best Christmas.
