Hello sweet ladies, it's time for a PARTY!!!!!!!!

Gooseberry Patch and Prairie Flower Farm Party!

It is that time for a.........

I love it when the mail comes and a new set of cookbooks arrives for me !!!!! and YOU! This new one is a beautiful!!!

Go Here and buy if you like!

Since we were having company for breakfast this morning I thought I would see what I could find in the new cookbook......

The table on Contents had five different headers.....

Break of Day Breakfasts
Garden-Fresh Soups & Salads
Family Dinner Favorites
Blue-Ribbon Desserts
and
Classic Country Canning

I looked through the Break of Day Breakfasts and found the recipe for.....

Apple Fritter Pancakes with homemade
Country Cabin Pancake Syrup,
perfect for my menu!

I also saw

Blueberry French Toast
Country Ham Biscuits
Easy Bacon Frittata
Sweet Apple Butter Muffins
just to name a few. They all looked wonderful!!!!!

Here is the recipe for......

Apple Fritter Pancakes
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4. t. salt
2 t. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk
1 T. oil
1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 t. nutmeg
1 t. cinnamon-sugar
Garnish: Butter, powdered sugar
Combine all ingredients except garnish in a bowl; mix well. Drop batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a greased griddle, set over medium heat. Flip pancakes when tops start to bubble. continue to cook until both sides are golden. Serve topped with butter and powdered sugar. Makes 6 servings.

I needed applesauce for my recipe so I cut and peeled two apples, boiled them until soft. Mashed apples with a fork.....I had what I needed!

These pancakes are easy.......and DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Country Cabin Pancake Syrup
2 16-oz. pkgs. dark brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
4 c. water
3/4 c. corn syrup
1 T. maple extract
Combine all ingredients except extract in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until sugars are dissolved and mixture is thinckened. Let cool to luke war; stir in extract. Place in a covered container; keep refrigerated for up to 4 weeks. Makes about 7 cups.

You can cut recipe in half. It is so easy to make!!!!!!

  1. Ooh, what a sweet tea towel design!! And I just love Gooseberry Patch, and your blog, so thank you for hosting this lovely giveaway! :)

Let's see, I'm a baker, sewer, stay-at-home daughter who lives in the city but got her love of the south and country living from her two aunts.

If I had a day all to myself, I would read outside in the sunshine, get a special treat like an Auntie Anne's pretzel, and do a little shopping for fabric to create with.

    Blessings!

  9. Hi Linda, I presently live in a rural part of Ashtabula Cty., OH. Originally I lived in a small city. I love crafts and like to try my hand at most everything. I enjoy following your blog for your recipes, inspiration, and the pictures you share with your followers. I have posted to Gooseberry Patch and love their cookbooks. This is because the recipes are usually made from items that are found on a normal pantry shelf. I've also left a post on your facebook page. I love sharing your page with my family and friends. Even my husband enjoys your pictures of your farm animals. Hope I'm lucky enough to win your towel and the cookbook. Robin robeader53@yahoo.com

  34. Hi Linda,
That recipe book looks really yum, and the teatowel is beautiful!! Well, I am a gardening, baking type of girl who lives in the suburbs of a city. And if I had a day to myself....well at the moment every day is either working or wedding planning, but I would love a day to sleep in, enjoy coffee in the sunshine, spend a few hours gardening and then read a book for a while.
    Have a great day Linda,
    Selina.

  39. I don't use facebook, so I won't be voting on those. However, I do read your blog, and enjoy it. I am a variety of "things" right now in my life. I am a city-girl turned country, with a goal to be self-sufficient (healthy home grown and raised foods) and never ever have to worry about money.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That tea towel is sweetness itself!
I'm looking forward to spring and am hoping hubby takes me seriously about wanting raised beds to plant my greens and favorite veggies. I was diagnosed diabetic in Jan, and have been working hard to manage this desease. Thankfully my doctor is on board with me trying just lifestyle changes rather than meds at this time...it has been going well with God's great help! Thanks for posting so much encouragement from God's Word...it really helps to focus on Him daily!

  44. Hi Linda,

I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country!

I live just a few miles outside Joplin, Mo of tornado fame.

I have four children, three of whom I am currently homeschooling.

I married my high school sweetheart. You might say we're going steady permanently.

I've a single surviving hen who will soon welcome chicks from the farm store. I have 2 cats who are siblings. Rukia (Roo key ah) is expecting a litter of kittens any day now. .

I enjoy sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, crafting, baking, cooking, and making soup.

I love to read and often review books on my blog, Harvest Lane cottage.

I like to cook from scratch, and I adore Gooseberry Patch books. I've collected a lot of them on Paperback Swap over the years.

I don't enjoy gardening, but I do enjoy canning, especially jams and jellies. Fortunately, my husband is a master gardener.

I do hope you'll come and visit me at Harvest Lane Cottage!

  79. Hi Linda,

It's been a busy week for me; trying to get a few handmade gifts ready to send out west for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. So I've done very little blogging and reading of blogs this week. Can't miss out on your party, though, since I love your blog and I love Gooseberry Patch!

I live in rural New Hampshire on 12 acres surrounded by woods. Love seasonal decorating, crafting, cooking and baking. Do a little gardening (no houseplants, though; my thumb is decidedly black when it comes to them). Mr. T and I are empty-nesters with ten grandchildren, many of whom live far away, but we will be going to visit them soon. It's snowing up here today with more to come tonight!

My Tea Kettle shaker that I won from you last year got broken in the move across the country. I actually cried when I opened the box, that a my turtle planter that I used for pens. I was sad but I still have the tea cup.

  86. Linda, I love your blog!! You make me feel that I am right there with you! Thank you for being so generous with your patterns. They are so very cute.

I am a rural girl who teaches in the city. So i'm a little bit both. If i could have my druthers, I'd love to live like you, in the country, totally immersed in county life I love cooking, baking, crafting, painting, writing. Right now I'm disabled (awaiting hip surgery) so i'm getting to do more crafts than teaching at the moment. I am enjoying it, though I miss my kids in the classroom.
