Need Help Please, Getting Ready!

Our daughter made me a cup of Peppermint tea, using the little snowman teapot.
She gave it to me in my snowman cup!!

Isn't this the sweetest little snowman teapot? My Tressy came home this Sat., after she had been gone all day with one of her special friends. She had it wrapped and I was so excited to see what it was. I love surprises, don't you??!!!! It was this sweet teapot for my "Grammie and Poppa Camp". I am getting things together for the party for when it snows. Now here is where you all come in. I know there are some real creative mommies, grammies and ladies out there! Help! I need some snowman games, treats and craft ideas. I have the snowman soup recipe, rice crispy snowmen, and these adorable doughnuts with a candy for the nose, but I would love it if you would take a minute and give some ideas. If you have pictures send them and I will do a post for the snowman party. Thank you so much for joining in!!!

Also, please pray for our family. Our daughter Tay has not been feeling well. She is going to the doctor today. I didn't feel well on Wed. and Thurs. We don't want anyone else in our family to get anything. Thank you!

Blessings,
Linda

Blog Party At "She Looketh Well"

Michelle from shelookethwell is having "A Mini Party and Giveaway. She said "that she is needing a little fun in her life right now". So lets do that for her!!!!!! It doesn't look hard to do. We only have today and tomorrow, sorry, I just found out about it today from Camille, Flowers in His Garden. Go to the blogs and enjoy!

I guess I need to explain a little. Michelle over at She Looketh Well is having every one tell alittle about who we are and why we blog on our blog........

So here goes, who am I? I am a momma of 5 precious children on earth and two in heaven, 3 wonderful daughter in loves, grammie of 9 adorable grandchildren, married to the love of my life, for 35 years!! I am a princess of the King of Kings and will enjoy living with Him for eternity in heaven. I can't wait to see how He has fixed up His place for those who want to be a part of His kingdom. I stand at awe of His love for us. I want to live out my life for Him.

The reason I blog, is because I want to be able to love and encourage women from my home. I live on a farm and don't get out much, because of all the responsibilities here, so this gives me a creative outlet to journal my daily life, loving my family and friends. As I do that my prayer is that the things I do might bless other grammies and mommies to maybe take a little idea and put it into their home. I love to make things pretty in our little farm house, that we just inherited from my honey's parents. It is going to be a lot of fun to start ripping up old carpets, paint walls and make it look like our home. You will be able to go on that adventure with us if you like.

I still have 2 daughters at home that I am investing my life into to prepare them to be keepers at home when the Lord brings them their husbands (if that is His will). They are learning to can, grow a garden, keep a house, cook and probably more than I know. My husband and I want them to have their own faith, that will carry them through the path that the Lord has for them. Teaching them who Jesus is and His Word is a major priority for us.

We also do Farmer's Market now that the farm has been divided, and my blogging will be our journey on what the Lord has for us during this season of our life! We have blogged about Farmer's Market.

Design for a fabric company that is located in New York has been a real blessing. It just happened and I never thought I would ever do that sort of thing. I have been doing that for 15 years now and can stay at my home and still enjoy farm life with my family. We also have a store on the web called PeaceCreek Collections Store. We carry some of our patterns and hand crafted products, that I have designed for sale. We will be adding new designs to it all the time. Hopefully new items will be up today or tomorrow. We always wanted to have a blog and a store and now we do. We have been blogging since April and I wish I would of done this along time ago. I love the ladies that have come into my life. It is a wonderful way to express who you are. As I train my precious daughters I will blog what we do like recipes, decorating and just things that happen in a day at Prairie Flower Farm. Blogging has truly been a gift to me.

I have had hard times and blessings, both have been used by the Lord to make me in His image. May I represent Him with my life, as I blog and share with all who come to my blog.
If you want to get my posts sign up on both my blogs and you won't miss out on what is going on here!!!!!!! Thank you so much for taking time and coming by.

Blessings,
Linda

Another "Grammie and Poppa Camp"

Poppa built a beautiful fire, so we could roast hotdogs and marshmallows. Sitting around the fire praying and talking helps us get to hear what is going on in our grandchildren's life and how we can better pray for them. It is one of my favorite times.

Poppa carved their names into their walking sticks, that he got for them out in Colorado. They kept them by their sides most of the weekend.

Everyone smelled so bad from the fire, I felt like they needed to take a shower so I wanted them to be clean in the morning for church. We were all going to sleep in our "Mail Barn" in the lofts. Boys on one side with Poppa and myself and the girls on the other side. When it is time to go to bed, I have always told them a made up story about Mr. and Mrs. Toad Frog. The story is always about them and Mr. and Mrs. who live in a big tree by our house with their 7 children. We go on trips all over. I try to have practical life character building stories and they can't wait to hear another one. Instead we read Goose Eggs by E.J. Taylor this evening. I have read this book to all my children. It is pretend, but so sweet. Another book is Ivy Cottage. There is another one, but I didn't care for it. The story is about two rag dolls. Miss Biscuits, Ruby
Buttons and Violet Pickles. We ended the evening with prayer. My grandchildren are so precious to me and my hearts desire is that they will grow up and fear and love their Heavenly Father. That they will come to him for salvation that was paid at Calvary.
Oh, may the Lord give me the desire of my heart. Lights out, until another day!
We got up in the morning and 3 of the children forgot church clothes. Sometimes we do just stay home with them all and have church at home, so there was a mix up. We ended up staying home and had a wonderful time. Poppa taught us about "seeking first the kingdom of God". The fact that you had to get in the Bible everyday to learn those things the Lord wants you know. It was a very special time for all of us. I am so thankful for a Poppa that loves the Lord!!
This chair and bench are at the entrance of the "Mail Barn' (my work area with all my fabrics, crafts and supplies). The kids made it more inviting.

Later on that afternoon we got ready for their parents, who were coming for Sunday dinner.
They all helped getting the farm ready. They added more pumpkins and gourds to the chair and bench. They had so much fun doing so. They also had jars with little votive candles at the entrance.

This isn't the best picture, but I love seeing them work along side their Poppa. They love the farm and now appreciate all the hard work they did when they helped plant the garden. We can teach them that there are rewards from their Heavenly Father and hard work! He gives us one seed and He produces so much more for us. Amazing, He is so good and we want our grandchildren to know that.
Home grown potatoes were dug by Poppa and grandkids. They even washed them up for me, so I could cook them. We leave the peels on when we make mashed potatoes. They were wonderful with chicken gravy on top!!! We do not eat fried chicken very often in fact hardly ever, but I tell you it was sooooo wonderful. I fried up 3 whole chickens plus 20 chicken legs. The grand kids had worked up an appetite by the time we ate.
The children and my daughter in love went to the garden and picked corn. It is sweet corn and you can almost eat it uncooked. It was delicious.

Here is a picture of the table. I love how I can design fabric for the holidays. I am a blessed women. I honestly can't believe that I get to do some of the things I do. I am truly so grateful.
I gave the little girls decorations to make the table look pretty. They had little mason jars with tea lights all down the table with little white pumpkins in between. It looked so sweet. Training them to make sure that their tables can be decorated inexpensively. They also hung lights all around the inside, so we could eat with just candles and lights. It was so pretty.
My sweet friend Alicia gave me this salt and pepper shaker for the my fall holidays.
Are they not the cutest?
I found these dishes at a store by us. They were priced so nice and my sweetie husband
bought me dishes for our family dinners. They are sooooo beautiful and you guessed it, RED!
The grandkids sang for their parents, as they all sat in the loft of our "mail barn"

Ending the evening with the children singing some of their favorite praise songs to their parents topped the evening off. It was a weekend that I trust the grandchildren will tuck in their hearts and someday they will invest in their children and grandchildren
the way it has been for them.

I went out this morning to clean up and it was so quiet. I love it when there is lots of laughter and so I will wait for next time. We will be having a snowman party for the next party. We have one of those every year and I will have to get busy coming up with some ideas. If you have any ideas let me know!
Blessings,
Linda

CHICKEN CURTAINS GIVEAWAY SIGN UP!!!!!!

What I want to do is give away 3 lined chicken curtains, that will measures 8"x44". I will choose 3 different ladies. You just need to leave me a comment on whether or not you would use it in your chicken coop or in another place (kitchen, laundry room......). Sooooooo simple. You will need to buy a cafe rod to put it up though. For those of you who have followed my blog from the beginning, knew that I wanted to make a curtain for my hen house, using my fabric line called "A Farmer's Market" (fabric is the same as the clothespin bag). This spring and summer brought a lot of busyness to my life, not that I am not busy now and I am just now getting my curtain done.
I just love my curtain. It is so cheery to go in my hen house now.
Is she so precious? I love this artist's work. Her name is N. A. Noel. The picture was damaged, so I put it in my hen house. Isn't it lovely? It is so nice to gather my eggs with that on the wall.
My mud boots have had so much use on my farm. I love them and they have polka dots...... I love polka dots, but you already know that. Now come and sign up and I will do the drawing next Saturday the 12th at noon! I will let everyone know who won. Remember 3 winners one curtain each. Thank you everyone for coming over and reading my blog. You again are the most precious ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Day On The Farm

Naughty boys!! As our neighbor said "they are not steers they are pets". Well now they are so big we can't walk them around anymore. They are getting out. This is the third time. Our sons are coming to fix the fence........again.

They load the seed wheat on pallet
The seed wheat is ready to take home. Can't wait to get it in the ground. It is so cool when the wheat is green in long lines going up a field. I will take a pic when it happens.
Momma duck has layed a nest of eggs. I will be watching closely as to what
she is going to do. Oh how I wish she would hatch some babies for me. I will
keep you all posted.

Still working on designs. It is taking me forever with canning and all.

I love this blog. I had my husband put a post in my garden, because I had saved this picture from an old Country Living magazine. Isn't it so cute? You have to go to this blog and see it. Here's A Hand To Hold On To I am sure you will enjoy Lori.
Blessings,
Linda
