They Came..........and They Moved Into This Momma's Heart

Hi sweet ladies............one fantastic week of getting ready...........a night and a day to meet some precious Godly young Ladies.

We had been asked by one of the college girls (Dee) if we would open our farm for her to host her bachelorette party.........we of course said yes. I had quite a few things I needed to do to get the little Refuge Cabin ready.....praying........cleaning........sweeping..............moving some of the items that were in it out........as you already know a new window put in.........and some decorating to do. I was going to make it simple so I made some..........

curtains........ for the window.........

covered the big cushion for the wicker couch that belongs to my Micah (a sweet young lady who has been in my life it seems like forever) when she gets married.........some day.....but I get to use it until then.

I used the table cloth that I had been saving forever. It was a gift from a blogger friend Gloria from Under Her Wings  (it is a must go......she loves JESUS......lots) for the Potter's Shed........for my tea parties.......but this seems just exactly what it needed to be used for for this weekend. Hung an old farm window with a wreath.

I had been given 3 candelabra's........they are not something that I would go buy........but since I needed light I had this idea to use my little canning jars and tea lights to give more light in the place. I have made lights using canning jars for years. Take a jar........fill it with silk flowers........leaves.........potpourri......anything. Fill the jar with candle oil..........I buy long cotton wicks that I get from Hobby Lobby in the candle department. Take a large nail.......with a hammer nail a hole into the center of a canning jar lid. Put the wick through the bottom side of the jar lid and then through so about 1/4" of the wick is sticking out on the top of the jar. Place the wick down into the oil and screw lid on jar. Tie ribbon around the jar. I have made these to go down the center of a tables and they are beautiful.......would also be pretty for a wedding. Easy and cheap.

Put an old door against the corner with tin wall hanging with flowers. Hung a lantern from the ceiling with a candle.

I put this sign up as a reminder of how just a little faith can grow. After praying for 30 years for a Refuge Cabin........my Father has made it possible. God heard me.........and answered........love it.

I had a little cupboard that was given to me............filled it up with games and such (my friend Angelina from Pioneer Beauty gave me the red polka dot napkins).........perfect for the evening. I will spray paint the cupboard white someday.....or maybe red? What do you think.

Honey helped me move in the old red chair that I saw one time in someones yard with FREE on it.........I told Mr Farmer to brake it........he did and he looked at me funny as I said that we could tie it on top of the van..........he did.........he loves me.........a lot.........I am so glad........cause I love him a lot and I would tie a deer for him on top of the car........ if he asked. LOVE just does that right?

Since the cabin doesn't have electricity.........we had to borrow a huge extension cord and get some out there. It worked. I took a big gallon jar and filled it with CHRISTmas lights. I thought it looked cute. That was at the entrance of the door.

The girls and I strung CHRISTmas lights all around the top edge of the inside of the cabin and then up in the loft. It looked adorable and very warm. I knew the girls were going to love it.

Since we don't have water....... in the little barn.........they used this to wash up. I made sure the water was warm........I think that helped.

I had everything ready........even the port-a potty. One of the girls I guess was talking to another girl on the way out. She asked something about if there isn't a bathroom in the cabin what are we going to use. The other girl told her that they were going to dig a hole. Poor girl. Then they drove up the yard........she saw the port-a-potty she said she wasn't using that either. Heehee............she ended up using it.

My sweet Taylor bought her Momma this..........for the cabin...............love it.

ADORABLE GIRLS

Here is a pic of my girls. They are mine now.......I adopted them.......and they adopted me. It will work just fine for me..........pray that I can be an example of Christ to them.

Titus 2:3-5
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

I will continue with part two on tuesday..........the time was fun.......the girls want to come again............can't wait.

Hugs from my farm to your HOME,

Linda
