Came home and you know where I went......down to the milk house.......baby was coming. I know this is not the best picture, but look how much it had worked today. I noticed that it was starting this morning before going to work. It did finally hatch! It was dark in the milk house, so I couldn't take a pic. It was out of the shell and wet. Momma will take good care of it.
The weather was perfect tonight for planting.....had to wear sweatshirt and jeans, because it was in the 70's. The sun was shining and a cool breeze was perfect. I planted the rest of my pickle plants, butternut squash, yellow squash, lavender, lemon verbena, a few more tomatoes, zinnias and I can't remember what else. I was planting in our south garden. Also at the same time our youngest daughter was having a sweet friend come to take some pic's for her senior pictures. Tay wanted Denali and Juneau in the pic's. Denali decided to run and I mean run through some of my garden. Thought you would like to see how he is growing. I got cans to put around some of the plants to protect them from this little guy! I am sure this will not be the last time he will try this. Thinking of a picket fence!
My Scarlet Red Verbena is growing and blooming.....this is probably one of my most favorite flowers. Have to have it every year. The red is so deep and looks like velvet petals. What is your favorite flower that you have to have? I asked on my Prairie Flower Facebook and it was so fun to hear what some liked.
Got in the house tonight after 9, short post, just think after Friday it won't matter how long I stay outside or stay up. I will be so grateful to have some time to get the things done on the farm that have needed done for some time.
I hope you have a good day. Thank you for leaving me comments. They make my day sweet!
Welcome new followers........you have been noticed.....by ME!
Hugs from our farm,
Linda

Linda,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to take a moment to say what a blessing you are to us! We read your posts every day, and Abby enjoys your pictures of animals and life on the farm so much. Your words encourage me.
We are winding down our school year for 12 yo Abby. This year we've had Anna home after she graduated from college last May. She's helped us cook and clean. She's considering teaching English in Korea, but not with our mission.
Love,
Teresa
Linda, your red verbena is beautiful! My favorite that I have to have every year is nasturtiums! I grew up with them, they grace the yards all around Laguna Beach CA. Also Carmel, they just grow wild in both places! Now they are growing, thanks to little ole me, in Fletcher NC! They are delicious in salads, and so easy to grow, and big seeds for children to handle. Sorry I am rambling! I get to go to CA this summer to visit my brother in Huntington Beach and can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThree more days Linda, and you have the whole summer to play at home!
xoxo

Geraniums, Peonies, Roses are my favorite flowers. I do not grow any but the Geraniums up here at 9000 feet and they are grown in containers on my deck. Deer and water keeps me from having a garden at all. But, I love my mountains and I would not trade them for anything. They are God's Blessing to me I believe.

Hi Linda! I have to have morning glories! My mother had them in our yard when I was growing up. I always plant them in memory of her.
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-law has many beautiful roses in full bloom. He brought me a bouquet Sunday! They smell so wonderful! I also have to have a lilac bush under my bedroom window!
I love your photos. You have such a beautiful heart for the Lord.
