The CHRISTmas Table PFF and Gooseberry Patch Party!!!

Hello sweet ladies,

Good MORNING!!! It is another beautiful day here on the farm. A bit chipper this morning. Still bundled up to keep warm. The birdies are singing away and I have been in my sewing room since early early! It wasn't 5 though when I woke up and that made this farmgirl verrrrryyyyyy HAPPY!

It is that time again.......
a
Prairie Flower Farm & Gooseberry Patch PARTY!

You are going to have to think back a few months when the weather looked like this...........brrrrrrr to get yourself in the mood for the new Gooseberry Patch Cookbook it is called The CHRISTmas Table.....sweet name don't you think?

You will have to think of a beautiful icy cold day not.........

a nice*warm* lazy* sunny* day......
(notice my little pullets basking in the shade) like today here on the farm

So get on your warm clothes, so you won't be cold when we take a look on the inside of this
new

Gooseberry Patch Cookbook!!!!

Time for a.......

Beautiful as usual!
Inside the table of contents consists of...

Cozy CHRISTmas Brunch
Chill-Chasing Soups and Breads
Caroling Party Supper
Classic CHRISTmas Dinner
Festive Holiday Fare
Sweet Treats to Share

At the bottom of the pages are those adorable little helpful hints and sweetness pic's!

Like this one.......

I use a galvanized tub for my big tree every year......if you want to do this keep a look out at farm auctions this summer!!!!!!
or what about this idea........

this summer you can put up your produce in vintage jars and have them ready for CHRISTmas gifts. Tie a ribbon around the top and hang a sweet tag......Cuuutteee!

I am going to be having a breakfast this week out in the Potter's Shed......today I am trying out one of the new recipes from The CHRISTmas Table (buy HERE if you would like). I had the chicken, fresh asparagus (from a sweet friend), EGGS from my "Girlies" and cheese on hand! So I couldn't wait to make this recipe.........

Chicken & Asparagus Quiche
from the kitchen of Melissa Knight

2 9-inch pie crusts
2 T. butter
2 T. olive oil
1 T. garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 bunch asparagus trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. half and half
1 t. dry mustard
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided

Place pie crusts in two 9" pie plates; bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly golden. Meanwhile in a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Saute garlic, onion and asparagus for 5 to 7 minutes, until asparagus is crisp-tender. With a slotted spoon remove vegetables from skillet, leaving as much of the butter mixture as possible. Add chicken to skillet; saute for 7 to 8 minutes, until fully cooked. Remove skillet from heat. In a bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients except cheese. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese in each pie crust. Layer half the chicken in each crust, followed by half the veggies and half the egg mixture. Top with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 2 quiches; each serves 4 to 6.

MADE IT........DELICIOUS! So so good! We ate the whole quiche for lunch.......there was 4 of us!

Now..... you know how I always make a little something to go with the Cookbook? Well I have used a piece from a fabric line I designed some years back and made a little tea towel......but do you notice there is not a stitchery on the bottom of the towel? I need some ideas....from YOU....so that is the comment I want you to leave for vote #1!  If you could design it what would you put there. Words.......picture(describe to me what you would want).......whatever!!!!

Can't wait to see what you all say! I will pick one in this next week and have it designed and on the towel when we do the drawing!

This is going to be so fun......for me!

The party will start today and end
MAY 22 at noon

Now, there is noooooo pressure on voting. Prairie Flower Farm girls like to have a lot of votes... so I always do it.
Do only what is comfortable though.

So....here we go!

  6. What a fun party! I love tea towels - actually I am sentimental about anything for the kitchen. If I would win a towel, I would like to see a star with the words "Oh Holy Night." Another thought would be a gingerbread man or tree with the words "It's the most wonderful time of the year."

It is lovely to actually come here to leave a message ~ I still read your blog, but it's through email & too often I'm so busy that I just don't leave comments, but please know I do love your blog.
I must say I love the gooseberry patch things. In fact Selina & I were so excited to find a gooseberry patch item in the local quilting shop. It was a random thing which unfortunately we wouldn't use, but we were happy to find it!!! ( She's been down here visiting me). I would love to be entered for your giveaway. I was trying to think what I would like on the handtowel. Either an inspirational Bible verse or something to remind me of the Lord's love. I can't think of exact wording though.
Hope you have a wonderful day
    Blessings
