Hello sweet ladies.........
the farm has been a buzzing! Cleaning, decorating, making sure the horses, cats and "Girlies" are all watered and fed. (Willow and the other three girls are over at my friends farm......they will be coming home soon). When the weather gets cold we have to make sure everyone is dry and warm for the weather. It makes for a little more work, but I always know they will be able to weather what ever comes. Tonight it is to get down to 10 degrees........cold! I have one more day at work and then we will be home for almost a month. They gave us Tuesday off.......hard to take, but someone had to do it......I am smiling!
I told my friend we needed to take a pic. I would share with my sweet ladies! Wish we could have shared a bowl with you all!!!!!!
Yesterday was a treasure day! We were invited to some old friends home. We had seen them when we were on our date night at Wal-Mart (anyone have those kind of dates)? The men talked and so did my friend and I. 20 years ago she started teaching and our paths separated due to time. She has always handed down old antiques and such to me when she would get tired of them. I loved it! She had a couch. It is sweet......put it out in the refuge cabin and will be making a slip cover for it! If anyone one of you have old 100% cotton sheets that you are not interested in and would like to sell them......I would be soooooo interested. Let me know. Anyway we were to be at their home at 9. We picked up talking like we had never had "time" in between! Do you relate? Most of us have stories! She served me yogurt with a huge helping of blueberries and raspberries. A simple act of kindness I know, but for me sitting with another lady one on one across the table was just what my women heart needed. It was so wonderful to just sit at her oak table.....and share what the Lord had been doing in each of our lives and spending some time in prayer. I don't get to visit much... so my cup was filled to the brim! We walked through their forest.....and they shared their plans and dreams......they also want a place of refuge for people. That blessed my heart! They need the wooded area picked up........I know just the boys from the college who would LOvveeeeeeee to help! They were encouraged to know someone would help. Isn't that what we are to do for one another? True friendship!
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:19-25
I love this verse! Hope it encourages you and you will ask the Lord who you need to encourage this CHRISTmas season! I am sure He has someone for you! I know I have some more I want to encourage!
Hugs to all you precious ladies and have a restful SONday!!!!!!!!
That is a beautiful verse Linda!Sounds like a perfect time.Hugs,Jen
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing day you must had! I love it! And yes, I know exactly what you mean...we all need these kind of friends!! Love your verse...as well as your signature! Praying Monday goes by fast for you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

How neat to spend time catching up with your friend and then to hear she wants to create a refuge too is doubly sweet.
ReplyDeleteWe have a friend that we can go years without seeing each other and when we do it as if time has not passed. LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful visit. BLESSINGS!!!
Hi Linda! You had such a smile in your post today! Simplicity is always the key for us! My honey and I were just at Target. He is so under the weather with this cold. But he bought me a double pack of Burt's Bee Lip Balm. He was so sweet! SO I shared one with him! I love that stuff! I am real big on buying USA and don't mind paying a few pennies more! I use to think Starbucks is over priced! But a blogger I know works 24 hrs. a week and has full ins. benefits! Her hubby has a full time job and they can not afford his ins! She just loves it! Plus on Election Day I had a gift card from Josh, one of our vendors. So I treated myself to a hot Chai tea and a scone. They gave me an election Day bracelet! I was impressed because it was made in the USA, red white and blue and had a little bar that said "Alligence" on it! The card it was on was also USA made and gave a website where you could buy these little bracelets! I admire any co. that wants to keep production here no matter what it is! Look at the wine industry how far they have come? Lots of people start small vineyards and become great successes. My daughter found out that she had an extra co. of the KSKJ Cookbook and shared one with me! I was happy! There are several Slovenian recipes in the back! Then I found out, thru my sis, a bakery I use to go to makes potica so we will order a loaf for our company next Sunday! I think our Slovenian Heritage Day at my house will be a nice success!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly blessed! Getting a whole month off to relax and take care of your personal lives! God is very good to you! Pray for Nick. His flight leaves Saturday around 2 P.M. We are happy he will be here for 3 whole weeks!
I am always smiling when I come over and when I leave here!
Love to all the Stubbs today and many blessings for all of you!
Hugs Anne
How nice for you to be able to visit with your dear friends! The fruit and yogurt look delish! What great fun to get a couch, I bet you are going to have a great material to cover it in too! I wish I had your energy! What a great verse from Hebrews! I know you are going to enjoy your time away from the school, all your animals will be so happy you are home, and you get Willow back! yea! Can't wait to see her!
ReplyDeleteLove your snowpeople, I started decorating with snowmen after Christmas several years ago cause the house always looked so empty after taking down all the Christmas decor.
Happy vacation Linda, tomorrow will go fast, I know it!
Hugs and blessings,
Carol
Oh, and Linda and anyone else who might read this, could you please pray for Raynie? A lady from my church, she needed a ride to the hospital tomorrow, and I said I could take her, we don't know eachother very well but this will give us a chance to visit. She is having some kind of surgery on her hand and is being put to sleep for it. She is very nervous about that, pray that I can be incouraging to her.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear prayer warriors!
Hugs,
Carol
