It's Time For A Party.............With Gooseberry Patch

Party Closed
Hello sweet ladies,

As you know I just loveeeeeeeee Gooseberry Patch, their cookbooks, craft books, their fun blog........and their facebook You will love them if you haven't heard about them before.

Remember when I told you that I had received two cookbooks in the mail. Well I had so hoped to get the party going sooner, but we have had catering's going on in the kitchen and that has had me quite busy. Plus hosting the girls from the college........took some time for me to get the Refuge Cabin fixed up. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. But..........now.......

It's time for another

and a
Prairie Flower Farm/Gooseberry Patch Giveaway.

The party will start today.............and end on

Saturday April 30th at noon.

I will announce the winner on Sunday May 1st.

The cookbook is called Quick and Easy Autumn. (available in May.....early ordering).........I love it and so will you.........Gooseberry never disappoints us right?
inside you will find.........

The Table of Contents

Breakfast & Brunch
Snacks & Appetizers
Soups Sides & Salads
Mains
Desserts
Slow Cooker.

Now some may say........why have an autumn cookbook now in the spring? Well many of you are starting your gardens and this has some wonderful recipes that you need to plan for now as you plant your produce. Even if you don't have a garden it's so fun to go to the Farmer's Market and buy when the veggies and fruits are plentiful. During the  growing season you can freeze or can so you can have everything available to do lots of baking through out the year. The cookbook has wonderful recipes so you would want to make sure you had apples on hand....... so you can bake up some Scrumptious Apple Pancakes, or pumpkins to whip up a Savory Pumpkin Soup, .........spinach for Spinach & Onion Quiches, green beans and potatoes to make Janet's Farm Pie or a must ......... yellow squash and tomatoes to make a Hearty Squash Casserole.  I hope this gives you a little  insight on what is in the cookbook.

Oh and the cookbook is available on my side bar..... if you would like to order through us)? The extra amount I make goes 100% towards Viataliy's adoption.

I tried out the cookbook in the college kitchen with
Pecan Pie Muffins........talk about very very good. The kids thought so.

It is such a simple recipe to mix up......

Pecan Pie Muffins

1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. unbleached flour
2 eggs
1/2 c butter or coconut oil
melted and cooled slightly

Mix pecans, brown sugar and flour in a large bowl; make a well in the center and set aside. In a separate bowl, beat eggs just until foam appears. Stir in butter or oil. Add pecan mixture; stir just until moistened. Spoon batter into muffin cups greased only on the bottom, filling about 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden. Promptly remove from muffin tin; cool on a wire rack. Makes 9.

They are pretty and very nummy

Great with a bowl of yogurt with granola sprinkled on top.

What a sweet giveaway! I love Gooseberry Patch books. Let's see, first I have planted a few things in our garden, but have to wait until after Mother's Day to finish due to the spaz Colorado weather. Second, I am an email subscriber. Third, I posted a little note on Gooseberry Patch's Facebook page about your site.

  41. Hi, Linda. Although I have an herb and perennial garden, we are so blessed with Farmer's Markets and roadside stands here in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. So I purchase almost all of our seasonal fruits and vegetables locally. I look forward to reading both my Gooseberry Patch and Prairie Flower Farms postings on my FB page and favorite blog subscriptions every day. Whether it is a recipe idea, craft, photo, or story, there is something that brings me joy EVERY day. So, yes, I'm a subscriber, reader, and also Gooseberry Patch cookbook collector. I just posted on their FB page as well. I just posted my first attempt at blogging last weekend, and I surely have much to learn from you. Wishing you Linda, your home and online family best wishes from Pennsylvania. Linda L. Seidel (Lsivrn@aol.com)

  110. I plant tomatoes & as many different colored peppers as I can with chocolate being my favorite. I've found that these are the only vegetables that will grow in our garden. I also have herbs, lettuce & spinach in window boxes. My mom plants a bigger garden & what ever she doesn't have we get at the Farmer's Market. I am not a follower or subscriber. Just found out about you from a Gooseberry Patch FB post.

  123. I tried to get in earlier but was only able to leave one comment, so will put all of my comments in one.

    1. We have a very small garden. My favorite thing to plant is buttercup squash because it usually produces pretty well for us. We also plant tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, and zucchini. Last year I tried a kaleidoscope carrot mix that was colorful and fun!

    2. I subscribe to you via email and am so glad that I do because that way, I don't miss anything.

    3. I am a follower, too.

Not sure if I have time now to get over to Gooseberry's site, but will get back to you if I do.
