Hello sweet ladies,
Now some of you know..........I have not been well. I am better, but still a little weak. I am understanding a little more on what people live like not feeling well everyday. We need to be praying more for them.
I have enjoyed reading every comment for the party. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know that Gooseberry has to be blessed that you have taken the time to say thank you for all their sweetness over the years. It really does make a difference when we say thank you, I think. Simple, but nice.
Before we get onto our Building Our Homes Together......I want to just give another little reminder of the Gooseberry Patch/Prairie Flower Farm Party. Click and please come sign up if you haven't already. As you know everyday we do a review. Due to not feeling well I have not cooked anything. Notta!!!!!!!!!........sorry that I am having a review party and haven't been able to cook through the cookbook, but Gooseberry and all the ladies that contribute neverrrrrr fail on good recipes, right? I have taken another picture from the beautiful illustrated picture from the 101 Easy Everyday Recipes and will give the recipe.
Raspberry Spinach Salad
6 oz. pkg. baby spinach
1 pt. raspberries
1. c. pecan pieces
1/4 c. red onion finely chopped
2 kiwis, peeled and cubed
1/2 c. raspberry vinaigrette salad dressings
In a large bowl, toss together all ingredients
Serve immediately. Serves 4
I love spinach salad. I have never had pecans, but if I did I would be sure to put them in the oven for a few minutes and toast them before putting them on the salad. That is one thing our chef at the college has taught us. It brings out the flavor in nuts.
Here are a few things Gooseberry does to make all of us ladies feel special.
did you notice that if your recipe is chosen, you will receive a free cookbook. Can't beat that!!!!!!
I have signed up for Circle of Friends, I receive this and it is really fun to get in my email box. You will receive free recipes, craft ideas, tips, exclusive events invitations & special offers not found anywhere else! Hope you enjoy a little bit more news about Gooseberry Patch!
Okay, are you ready ladies for our

Today I want to share about encouraging our husbands. I happened to be be blessed with a very precious understanding man. It has been easy for me to come under his authority and follow. Now that doesn't mean I always agree, but I know that I can say my opinion, he will listen, and I can leave it between him and the Lord. If I have concerns I tell the Lord.
I do enjoy blessing my sweet man and one way is soooooo simple.
I have a "sweet plate" and glass cover that are on top of my microwave in the kitchen.
I keep goodies under the lid, just for him. Now I have to tell you when the cookie jar is empty and he is the only one with cookies (or what ever I make)....... he will share. He is just like that. I also made up a little tag.......I call him honey.........he knows it....... is HIS!
Another way I am a helpmate is to pray for him. I have a book that I have used over the years. It is broken down in scriptures to pray for our husbands, ourselves, our children, our marriages and so on.
Click here, if you are interested. This book is precious and it will fit in your purse or in your basket with your Bible.
We win wars ladies on bended knees.
click on pic......you can see it better
You will see that it has scripture that you can pray over your husband by starting at the head, his mind, his eyes, his ears, his nose, his mouth, his bones, his heart, his arms, his hands, his legs, his feet and for your marriage. Now you may say........I don't have a husband.........well start praying for the one. We pray for our son in loves, if the Lord gives our daughters one. Our daughters also pray for them. God wants our focus to be centered on His desires. We don't want to miss His best.
Our daughters are watching how I love their Daddy........I so want to be a good example........am I.......not all the time, but I want to be.......trusting the Lord will help me. He will. I ask.
Blessings ladies as you seek the Lord's best for your HOMES! I enjoy coming and visiting the links.
Tea Bag Stained Tags
Tea Bag Stained Tags
Here is a little tutorial on how to make the tea bag tags. It is fun and easy.
Take a mason jar, fill with water and add some tea bags.
Place jar in microwave until it boils.
Here is a trick I learned on scrunching up paper. Press both thumbs into the center of the tag, paper or whatever you want to scrunch up. It scrunches better. Really it does. Finish scrunching, drop into tea, stir, let set until you get the look you want. Remember it will dry lighter. I use these tags a lot on gifts.
Almost forgot to tell you that the

Linda,
ReplyDeleteI must not be understanding what you mean when you say you've never had pecans! You don't mean that you've never eaten them do you? Pecan pie for instance?
I think your book looks interesting :) Phil is probably such a sweetheart, in part, because you are one, too :) Two peas in a pod :D
I hope you feel more like yourself real soon. I'm praying for you :)

Love your idea for having special treats available for your honey, just for him. He must feel so blessed! I am thinking about how I can adapt this idea for my own honey. He would love it!
ReplyDeleteI too am amazed at how you could prepare such a lengthy, picture-filled post with such wonderful ideas, feeling as you do. Thanks again for all you do.
God bless,
Mrs.T
