An Old Fashioned 4th!

Happy 4th Sweet Ladies,

Thank you for all the precious encouraging comments yesterday. Your personal emails were also appreciated also. What precious true friends you are.

We were at church yesterday..........I shared what the Lord had taught me about Trust. We were all studying the Word. We heard thunder........a lot of thunder. We left with it raining. Then we started Home. The rain line stopped before we got to the river. It didn't rain at the didn't concern my Lord...........He knows exactly what He is doing. It should not concern me........I will try! Smile!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who LOVE HIM, who have been called according to His Purpose. Romans 8:28

I am sure you have heard this verse over and over. I love it. It is specific. Did you see the IN ALL THINGS? and that it isn't me it is GOD WORKING?   and THE FOR GOOD of THOSE WHO LOVE HIM and I know I have been Called According to HIS PURPOSES. I qualify to be called HIS CHILD not because of me, but because of JESUS. He knows best what THIS CHILD needs along with all His other CHILDREN. I can rest and I will do my best to do that even if it doesn't rain..............EVER

Late in the afternoon we went to set up for the 4th celebrations. Tonya called and said that they had received 600 bottles of water for us to sell. By the end of the day more bottles showed up. It was precious!!!!! We set up the tables and tent. I don't have time, because we have to get in there early this morning, but I will send more pictures later. The afternoon was spent with the  our whole family working together.

From age 4 to age 62. It was a SA-WEET (new word, I have a friend that has lots of new words for me) time. People from where we work in the fall came and gave. Never would I have thought!!!!!!!!! God is building a new family for us!

By the end of the day we made 70.00. Take away 20,000........a piece of cake for the LORD! Makes me giggle big time!

a peek at my!

This 4th is a little different for our family. The one thing that stands out to me though is we have a "system that is legal" here in AMERICA. We can go through the steps our country has set up and adopt a little boy from another country and bring him here to America. To live with us. That is FREEDOM for Vitaliy from living in an orphanage.

May God Bless American and may draw HER to HIMSELF. Now that is true FREEDOM...........but only if we have HIM!

Now off to a fun day with fam raising money to bring our boy home. We will also be able to see  the turtle races...........our children always had hasn't changed for the grandkids.

  1. GOD is so GOOD! How happy I am for you and your family.
    Blessing to you all
    Granny Trace

  2. Have a wonderful Fourth, Linda. May God bless your efforts to give Vitaliy 'freedom from the orphanage' to a family where he will hear God's Word.

  3. My prayer today, among thanks, is for your efforts to raise money to bring Vitaliy home ,will be surpassing! Blessing to your family this day of celebrating our freedom!

  4. I know one day that Vitaliy will be with you in a loving family. I think it is such an amazing thing you are doing. God bless you with your efforts and I pray you quickly reach your goal of $20,000.00. You are right, that is nothing for our God! Keep the faith!

  5. Linda,

I love that verse! It is my life's verse! No matter what we dread, fear, or are uncertain of, we can trust HIM to get us through it. The Bible tells us we WILL have trials and tribulations. But HE has overcome and HE is in control. What a relief! That verse and God helped me get through breast cancer. Looking back, I can see how He worked everything out for me :)

What a funny friend you have that keeps expanding your vocabulary ;)

The pic of Reid is soooo ca-ute! He is precious!

Love your patriotic material you designed. I need to have you make me something out of it :)

Praying for another successful day for your fundraiser for Vitaliy.

    Love ya,

    Susan Montgomery

  6. Oh Linda.. I pray for 'rain' as always and that you all sell lots and lots of water and cake and make lots of money to help bring Vitaliy home to your family!!

    xoxo Gert

  10. Hi Linda! I happened to be on someone else's website who was also adopting and they had one of those thermometer fund-raising meters that I had suggested. It was from a website that had other fund-raising ideas on it too. I thought there might be something you could use there. The family whose blog I was reading was doing a fund-raiser with a puzzle. I'll have to read more to find out more about it. Anyway, here is the website:

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment. It is so appreciated and it makes me feel like I am making a new friend.

God Bless your day!
