Look what the Lord gave us this evening! It was even more red than this pic is showing. My sweet man came in the house to get me so I wouldn't miss it. I am so glad he did. The weather was really crisp out, but he bundled me up in his hunting coat! Everywhere you looked in the sky it was beautiful! One thing missing! YOU ALL!
It was a very busy day today in the bakery. My Tressa and I baked 20 pumpkin pies and 20 pecan pies. I wish I would have taken a picture! I was way to busy. Maybe I can take one tomorrow. We didn't have to make up the crust.......I don't like store bought crust....but today it was a blessing! We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with the college kids tomorrow. We will serve turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, two vegetables, fresh cranberry sauce and pies. They enjoy it so much each year and are so appreciative to all the staff.
I found this on Pinterest.....when I am off on vacation I want to try it. Looks so pretty don't you think? I will use fall berries in throughout the burlap. When I get it finished I will show you. Here is where the tutorial is.....HERE
Will you celebrate Thanksgiving at your home or do you have to travel? We have had Thanksgiving on this farm forever! The farm has been in my sweet man's family for 150 years. So thankful for memories and traditions!
As you think as you family is getting ready for this Thanksgiving......think of the freedoms the Lord has blessed us with in our country. Please pray He would continue to protect those freedoms. Our family has great concerns on the direction we are going!
I am writing this post on Tuesday night.
Hugs, sleep tight and God bless you!
Linda
Traveling just about 30 minutes to my son's and daughter-in-law's. My daughter and her husband and our granddaughter will probably travel with us. It is a wonderful happy day. I love sitting and talking to the grandkids and oh,, sometimes we play games and listen to "their" music. It's fun and Papa and I are sad to go home! My daughter- in-law does a fine Thanksgiving dinner and we are very grateful. You have a wonderful, blessed day.
ReplyDeleteWe will travel next door. Haha!! We have been having it at out oldest son and daughter in laws for about 3-4 years now. Her parents and brother will be there also. We are just one big happy family. So nice to be able to get along with the in laws.
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS!!!
I will actually be spending my Thanksgiving at the Homeless Shelter where I work. Many of the families have no one to spend the day with, and it is a regularly scheduled work day for me...so these wonderful people will be my family for the day! God finds such wonderful ways to enrich our lives, doesn't He? Hugs to you, Linda!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration to many. Your attitude is such a shining example of Christ and His love. Thank you and may many blessings come to you and yours.
