This Tastes So Nummy........ When You Don't Feel Good!

You have to try this. My Tressy made it for me after we got home from the hospital last night. It is so easy and tastes so delish. Is that a word?

Strawberry Surprise Smoothie
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1/2 cup fresh pineapple
1/2 a banana
1/2 cup crushed ice
1 Tb. of sugar or honey

We use our Magic Bullet. Add a little water as you need to help it blend.

Worked on the Miss Claris Apron Pattern this morning. It is sooooooo cute! Can I say that? Why would a person want to make something they think is ugly, right? It is definitely going to work for the kitchen, garden or when you are "craftin". Miss Claris said that you are not dressed if you don't have your apron on!! She is going to look so adorable in her new apron !!! Can't wait to show you. Here is a little sneak picture.

I need a little feed back. I want to put up the new apron pattern as an e-pattern and a paper pattern. The main part of the apron is to big, so if it is as an e-pattern you will have to tape the main piece together when you print the pattern off on paper. Is that a problem do you think? I haven't bought any e-patterns that have a big piece to it, but if I wanted the pattern bad enough it wouldn't bother me. Let me know if you think it would be a problem that someone would have to tape it together. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I really appreciate it!!

This morning Monday Feb. 22, I was working on this post. I went to click to post it and my internet was not working. Not good. I went in to see my Dad and he was talking. He is so weak, because they couldn't let him eat, because it was going into his lungs. He did get to eat today and for that we are so grateful!!!
After coming home, I still didn't have internet. I am in at my Dad's house watching a KU game and so I thought I would just go ahead and put it up in case I don't have internet tomorrow. I live in the country so sometimes we have problems with internet service. I know that some of you Country Girls know exactly what I am talking about.

I worked some more on the apron! I can't wait to get it done to show you. I showed it to my Farm Girlfriend Gail. She said she thinks it is very pretty. That's good enough for me!!!!! She and I like so many of the same things!

I am so grateful for all of your prayers during this time. You are so kind.

Blessings sweet ladies,
Linda

  5. Linda, your smoothie recipe is mouth-watering! Looks so good!

I don't think I would mind taping a pattern together. Especially if the PDF version is cheaper! LOL! Actually I trace almost all of my patterns anyway onto tissue paper that we tape together (so we don't damage the original pattern). So there really is no difference, I don't think!

Also, just wanted you to know that I'm praying for you and for your parents too.

  6. Hello Linda,

You and your family are in my prayers. I am glad that your tressy is looking out for you. You need to take care of yourself with everything going on. The smoothie looks yummy!

Claris' apron is going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see her in it. The fabric is perfect. Oh, I love the photo of your parents in your earlier posts.

In regards to your question, I'm afraid that I would be no help. I am not a seamstress yet :)

Have a blessed evening Linda and may His peace dwell in your heart :)

  8. Oooo, the apron is going to be beautiful...I just LOVE the fabric you chose. I would not care a whit if I had to tape a pattern together...that's just part of printing patterns off the internet :)
I hope you & your family (especially Dad) have a good day today!

  9. Your smoothie looks delicious. I make smoothies a lot using kefir for the liquid. I never thought of adding pineapple. I also freeze all my fruit before I blend it. This elimates using the ice? I love the tablescarf the smoothie is sitting on. Did you make it? It is very pretty. I loveeeee the apron material. I have never used an e pattern so I'm afraid I'm no help on that question. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. I'm glad your dad is doing some better, getting to eat will help build up his strength. Take care and God bless.

  11. Praying for your Papa.

I think the pattern would be great as an epattern or as a...what would you call it? Paper pattern?

I love the material you chose--feminie and refreshingly lovely.

My girls and I or sometimes my hubby make smootheis every morning. Love 'em! Yours looks especially good. We use frozen fruit, so we have to add juice, but I think I'm going to try your recipe and just thaw my fruit over night.

    :)

    You always make me smile.

  12. Hi Linda! I am glad you stopped by my blog! I love knowing you! I have to laugh because my phamily has always been Kentucky fans and my youngest son has the neatest English teacher, Dr. Kilduff. He is British I believe and attended KU! He gives the hubby a hard time because my hubby wears his KY hat everywhere! It is so neat to know so many people with different ideas and lots of different favorite things! I am always praying for your family and I love knowing you!

  14. Linda, I was interested in your responses and I am working on the same thing right now. My other pattern is also a PDF and has to be taped together, but the pattern pieces are smaller than my apron pattern. I know that I do not mind taping patterns together and then I trace off whatever size I need, so I am only taping once.
Your smoothie looks so yummy and very springlike! I am still praying for your daddy, and for you.

  16. Hello Mrs. Stubbs! :D I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! :) I found your blog through the Gooseberry Patch blog, and I was just so blessed by your article! :D It's so nice to meet godly older woman who I can learn from and share similar interests with me. ;)

Coming here to your blog though, I was even more encouraged by the godly example you are and wonderful homemaker/business woman you are, and what a strong woman in the Lord you are. :) It is wonderful to meet you, and I will certainly be back to visit! :D

I'll be praying for you and your parents as well. :) I am sure that is quite difficult, as my own grandmother is getting to that difficult age where her health is starting to fail. :( I know how hard that must be for you and your family. I'll be keeping you in my prayers and for strengthening, comfort, and peace for you and your family. :)

    Blessings in Christ!
    ~Miss Rachel~

  18. I personally don't think it would be a problem to tape the pattern pieces together. I would do it if I liked a pattern weel enough. I look forward to seeing the apron. I love aprons, so homey and such whimsy.
