If you drove up the front lane on our farm this is what would greet you!
Hello Ladies,
The sky is cloudy here at Prairie Flower Farm, but that is okay! My heart is bursting. I just have to tell you what the Lord can do with a prairie girl and her family, in the middle of Kansas who puts their trust in Lord. As you know we have been through quit a bit in the last 5 years. Some days we thought we were just not going to make it. Life was hard and everything we tried to get accomplished would be blown apart for some reason or another. Life can come and hit you from behind and it is hard to recover! Caring for your elderly parents is not the easiest to do either, then trying to keep a farm going with tons of decisions, try to keep Peace Creek Collections going, try to make a living, well do I need to say more? I have asked the Lord for years to just give us a break!!! Smile. He is interested more in our character. Staying faithful to the Lord and asking Him to keep us on the right track was our main concern. In my kitchen I have this scripture.
This is what the Lord says-- Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: " I AM the Lord your God, who teaches You what is best for You, who directs You in the way You should go."
Isaiah 48:17
I have literally held on to this scripture these last years. I would remind myself over and over that I was doing everything before the Lord and had to only please Him. I knew He would take care of our family. I am sure many of you can relate out there. Well, yesterday the Lord showed Himself to our family on how much HE loved us and had things in order. Can you tell I am excited? As I told you yesterday and asked for prayer we had some special things happening. Tressa and I have been working for weeks on fabric lines. The company we license to is from New York and we have been with them for over 15 years. We needed to tweak one of the lines, because the red was to light. We did that and they loved what it looked like. They said it was a go. I think I told you that it sold to 2 different companies. That is a huge blessings! Sometimes you will submit something and it will take some time for it to get bought. So you wait and wait and wait. While I was working on the lines I thought of this other company that we hadn't heard from. We used to licensed to them so I thought I would give a call and see how they were doing. I called. I just wanted to check up on one of my friends that I had made over the years and see how she was doing. Anyway I hadn't even thought of telling her we had new designs and that came up in the conversation. She said send them over via email. I did. She wrote back and said SEND EVERYTHING! They really liked! I had a lot of art in my portfolio over the last years so I kept sending art. They asked if I could put it on a CD and send it First Day Air, because they needed it for the show in New York! My precious family and I gave Praise to the Lord!!!!!!!! He is the one that has been a huge part of our blog and business from day one, so we can trust Him even in the real difficult times. When you don't hear from Him, you have to have the faith and believe because He says that He will never leave you! All the artwork is now at the Art Publishers. We now will sit, wait and PRAY! In one 10 minute conversation changed our life. It could be wonderful for us if buyers at the show would license our art. That is where I am asking all of you, if you would please pray for us! This would help our family so much. I have been receiving so many precious emails from you all. I am praying for your prayer requests and some of you are also praying for the ladies prayers as they leave them on my comments. That is so wonderful ladies. We are caring for each other. I get overwhelmed sometimes how the Lord is using this simple blog to encourage and connect ladies all over the world.

ReplyDeleteLilacs! I can't wait for ours. Isn't it funny that we're in the same state and such different climates? Mine bloomed around May 15 last year. Is it pouring there? Sure is here. my father in law has to go to Denver this morning for lots of tests. Not looking good at all. He looks like he's aged 15 years in the last two weeks. Sure praying for the doctors to help him. They'll have 3 specialists looking him over and I hope keep him for awhile. Well, take care Linda. Lots of love from this side of the state.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I would just like to say how inspiring I find your Blog. Thank you for your warm generousity... I just love your delightful patterns.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
