Hope You Are Enjoying Your Day!!!!!!!

Hi sweet ladies............

My sweet man and I are working at the college today. The girls get to be at the lake!!!!! Yahoo for them. We are so glad their summer is ending with "SPECIAL TREAT"! I am alone in the bakery.....enjoying my time. Baked nummy scones this morning with fresh strawberries. About 5 kids came in. That's okay...it was peaceful and quiet. Put on CHRISTian music and enjoyed my time!

Yesterday I did some pinning on Pinterest to my Chicken Coop Board. Click on chicken coop board and it will take you to my pins. I enjoyed just relaxing and resting a little in the afternoon. I love to day dream about the farm and what I would like here to fix it up. Here are a few of my ideas!

The front of the big girls coop looks like this in shape! It doesn't have windows or flower boxes.......also love the kind of scallop on the roof. SWEETNESS! Thought a wreath between the little window and top of the door or on the door would be neat also. Changing it with the Seasons. Yup, I like......a lot!

This pic looked like a party.... if you ask me! I bought 6 new buffs at the Yoder Auction this year. They are getting ready to move into the big coop with the Big Girls! First my sweet man has to butcher a few roosters that are in the big coop!

I also found this.......now this looks like it would be so easy to make.....right?! It would keep the coop warm on the cooler months. Now I need to find some pop cans.

Look what I found for a waterer! Thought it was so innovative! Bet it doesn't cost much......well hope it doesn't, I would like to try and make one.

This one was the cutest........I thought. I don't know what kind of candy this is for the comb and feet. Anyone have any ideas.

Well, hope all are enjoying their day!!!!!!!!

Hugs to your day!

Linda

Just wanted to welcome the new followers........you have been

  1. Perhaps those are almond beaks and those red cinnamon candies for the top and feet? You make me heart smile when I see that you want to decorate the chicken coop and make it cute! Have a great day.♥♫

  2. Adorable! I am dreaming of owning a farm house and having our very own chicken coop...with chickens of course! We've been looking for property for a couple of years now with no such luck. :(

We live in Johnson County, KS and the price for land is astronomical! Just recently I fell in love with 12-acres for sale in Leavenworth County, but our home builder said it would be a nightmare to level out and build on (very hilly with a creek running thru it). *sigh*

I know we just need to keep on looking! There is a subdivision in LV County that has 2-3 acres house plots. We're considering that too since we truly aren't farmers (LOL) and have little ones (8, 5, 2). Might be a fair compromise.

Hubby is a fire fighter so we have a certain mile radius that we must reside within for employment purposes.

Anyway, so enjoying your blog! Happy Labor Day.

    Blessings,
    Val

    1. Hi Valerie, I asked the Lord to please give you your hearts desire! He loves it when we come to him with our needs. Farms are wonderful! Land is so expensive! Love the creek idea! Must be beautiful. Build the house on stilts. Heehee! How fun that you have little ones. I miss having them soooooo bad! I could be a Sarah! Thank you for enjoying my blog! You ladies are so precious! Hugs, me Love it when I see your pic of you and your little one!

  3. To me the combs and feet look sort of like those "Mike and Ike" candies -- think they may be in licorice flavor and come in a box with a mix of white, pink and black candies. Maybe those are the pink ones, or maybe they are a similar shaped candy in red, I can't really tell. Think the beaks are whole almonds, but I imagine you already figured that out.

Glad the girls can have a fun day at the lake for their end of summer. My hubby is working today, so it's just a usual Monday of laundry and chores for me. Have a great day, Linda!

    God bless,
    Mrs.T

    1. These chickens aren't mine....I pinned this to my Pinterest, but mine will look exactly like these. They have about another month or so to grow! These are some of my favorite chickens for sure! Very fat and pretty!

  5. Love the watering idea, before I looked up to the top I thought it went through the roof so they could get rain water! The cany chicks are cute, I, like Mrs T, think they could be the mike & ike pink candies, however they look a little darker. Maybe their the chewy candies.

    1. Isn't that the neatest watering thing......the water would stay nice and clean this water. That is a cool idea for rain water!

Thanks for the idea for the little candies. I need to find them!

  9. Linda,
Hope you're having a wonderful day too. I just have to tell you, I soooo enjoy reading your posts. I look forward to them each day. You always brighten my day and are such a wonderful example to follow. I wish we were neighbors so I could come over and sit and visit awhile. I was hoping to maybe see you at the Yoder Heritage days this year and was going to come up and give you a hug and tell you I was one of your followers on Prairie Flower Farm. We both have much in
common. I too have a wonderful husband of 33 years and a wonderful family that includes a grown son and daughter and 3 precious grandchildren. I teach at a south central Kansas middle school and I teach exploratory Family and Consumer Science, what used to be called Home Economics. I still call it that most of the time. I love to bake and sew. Well, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your life with us. We all so enjoy it. :-)

  10. Hello, Linda,
Just loving your blog. I think the little combs and feet could also be Hot Tamales candy. If you want a little cinnamon taste they would work. (-: I enjoy my alone time too. Of course, not for too long. Your little farm is looking so cute. I just love all of your wonderful ideas. Is that your picture at the top right? by Why I blog? You look as sweet as you write if it is you. Have a wonderful blessed rest of the week. Your friend, Julie
