It's TIME For A Party.......because I am on Vacation.

Dear sweet ladies..............wow....we had a total of 31 names for her.......... so many cute names. We had to narrow it down to only 11 names  for our poll because we had so many. I loved all the names and will be using them on the new little chicks. My family picked out some of their favorites to help me. I have them on my side bar and you all can vote on a name. Little White Cochin Girlie will be so happy to have a name.......it's been a long time coming.

Now..........we need to have a party to celebrate my vacation........don't you think?  To enter please leave me a comment about if you could spend a day at
Prairie Flower Farm........
would you want to learn to make something.....like sewing, crocheting, or do some craft, or would you like to.........work in my garden...........or maybe bake something in my kitchen.

I don't know what I will have as a giveaway for the winner....smile.......but you will like. It is going to be a surprise......because...... I have to make it. Can't wait to see who is going to come to our party. I just loveeeeeeeee parties.....as you already know and I am really in a celebrating mood!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my Home as so many of you know..........love everything about it.

I will draw one of your names on
Wednesday March 16th at noon.

and I will announce the name of my girlie........and also the winner (one of you) from the party.

One Vote for comment

Second vote....... if you tell others about the party and tell me that you did.

So Simple and I hope you have fun!

Wednesday is also the due date for all my little chickies to hatch in the incubator...........going to be a fun day!!!!!!!!!

So what are you waiting for...........come and leave a comment. I will be able to come and visit everyone of you (if you have a blog)......because I will be HOME. Just saying I will be HOME sounds so wonderful...........do you think I am excited?

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BLOG........PLEASE LEAVE ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS on the comment or just email me and put party on the subject line..... SO I CAN GET A HOLD OF YOU.....IF YOU WIN.

Hugs and may the Lord bless you..........

from my farm to your HOME.

Linda

Oh almost forgot to tell you. When and if you go to buy your baby chicks the way to tell a girl and a boy is to turn the chick upside down. If it is a girl she will keep her head straight down.........if it is a boy he will raise it up. Now isn't that cool? I read it somewhere the other day. I haven't tried it.........but I will. I hope it works. Sure would help get more hens then roosters.

  1. Yeah, Linda...I'm so glad you have 10 days straight of vacation. What a blessing. That's another blessing of working, you enjoy free time so much more :) :) Well, White Cochin Girlie is so purdy. She'll be very happy and extra fluffy cute when she gets her name. I voted, but I'm not telling, until I find out what her real chicken name is going to be :) :)

Thanks for hosting the giveaway. If I could come for an actual day at Prairie Flower Farm, I'd want to spend some time in the garden. I've never had a garden, so I'd want to learn how to take care of edible plants or flowers or whatever :) :) I'd also like to learn a craft, like quilting or any other needlework, but something with fabric sewing for sure :) :) Your creations are always so beautiful :)

Have a wonderful weekend and vacation. Extra love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  2. She is a pretty cute chicken. I like the feathers around her legs. I voted for Miss Cochina.. ok it didn't have a Miss in front of it but she kinda looks a little "Diva" so I thought that might fit. I am new to your blog. It's cute. I don't live on a farm my I do like animals.

  3. Hi Linda,
I hope you are having a fantastic holiday!! I think holidays are wonderful, I am still single so I spend my holidays travelling to far away places and exploring more of God's beautiful world.
If I got to go to your part of the world and visit you I would love to have tea and chat, look through your garden and learn some craftwork from you.
    I will e-mail my e-mail address ;-)
    Have a wonderful, restful time,
    Selina.

  4. If I was able to visit your home and the farm... I would be sure to have a picnic basket full of home-made goodies. I would have a large blanket laid out on a soft spot. The goal for this event would be to listen to nature at her best..with all God's creatures great and small.. and to enjoy new friendships. I would not be bothered if a critter or two decided to join our picnic fare, I'd share!

    Enjoy your vacation!

  5. Enjoy your vacation. Time to be home is so relaxing. I would love to visit all the animals, have time for tea and just see what the day would bring if I was ti visit. God would surely bring up things to see or do.

  7. Hello Mrs. Linda, I think if I could spend a day at Prairie Flower Farm, of course I would have to visit all your chickens. But most of all just to visit with you. I hope you enjoy your vacation. My daughter is home on Spring break from college, she says she appriciates it so much after being gone so long at school. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. I have also introduced her to Unfading Beauty. They seem to have some much in common.

    Love and Prayers,

  20. Hi, Linda! It is just so wonderful when a woman loves her home. I love mine so much and it loves me. I have lived in a few where we just didn't click but not this one! Anyway, I would love to work in your garden. Thanks for throwing another party. I cast my vote for your chick's name and I told my friend about the up coming celebration. Lots o' Love, Mary S.

  21. Linda, how fun! I would love to come for a visit! First, I would love to have some fellowship with you and your family, maybe we can discuss the Bible, appreciate God's goodness together. Then I would love to just share in your every day schedule, helping your around the farm, helping with projects that might need some extra hands, learning from you and your husband. My kids would love tending to the animals and later I could cook you and your family a wonderful, big Italian dinner while you relax (after all, it *is* your vacation!) and tell me stories about your farm. Then we could have dessert, while the kids tell stories and act out little plays based on the Bible. And maybe throw in a craft or two!

    Sounds like fun!

I hope you enjoy your vacation and I pray it doesn't go by *too* quickly!

    Love

  22. If I could visit you for a day, I would try to learn how to knit or crochet, then wander your farm with you. I grew up on an Oklahoma farm, and get to go back home to see my folks next week. Have a good vacation. Ours is the 21-25.

  23. Hi Linda, So glad you get this time off, there is nothing like being at home. I am off from subbing for right now because of a shoulder injury. I am not gone even that much, but like the idea of not getting called for a few weeks:o) If I could spend a day with you would definitely want to bake with you, and try to fit in working in the garden and making something. Ok, I can't pick just one, but baking would be my first. Have a great 10 days off.
    Joyfully, Cheryl

  25. Hi Linda, I am so glad that you get to enjoy a vacation at home! If I were to spend the day with you, I would want to visit the animals. We have a pug who gives us joy, but that is it. Then, I'd love to work in your garden. It has been a good ol' fashioned winter where I live & gardening is still a few months off. Tea or a meal in the Potter's Shed would be fabulous. Thanks for another fun party!

  26. Linda,
What a wonderful party! If I could have a day with you at Prairie Flower Farm, I would want to see your Potter's Shed and talk about outdoor entertaining/decorating. I would also love to see your garden and ask you about growing garlic and herbs. We have a big garden, but not many herbs yet (hopefully this year). And if we had time, I'd love to talk about sewing and learn some things from you. I know I would come away blessed, and I think I'd learn how to bless others when they come to our farm.

Have a great vacation! And can't wait to see those new chicks.

    Blessings, Michelle

  27. I still remember how those days "off" feel to a working lady, VERY valuable!! I hope you enjoy every minute of your vacation.

If I were able to visit you on your farm, I think I would want to do a "Day In the Life of Linda Stubbs". I'm sure that would include a little of a lot of things. How does that sound? Great, to me.

  30. If I were able to spend a day at your farm I'd bring my little 7 year old daughter along. I'd love to learn to crochet (properly, rather than the wonky way I do it) and to bake something together then have a tea party outside in the glorious sunshine. Thank you for your sweet blog!

  31. If I spent the day at your farm I think I would enjoy just following you around and talking with you. Of course, a cup of tea together would be lovely. I could also use some help with my crocheting, because when I've tried to make scarves, mine always are real crooked!

So, I'd pick your brain about that; maybe get some starts from you as well. I'd love to learn to do wool applique but haven't noticed if you can do that? I'd love to see your raised beds and how you made them, sit in the warm sun enjoying our tea; laugh alittle maybe cry alittle too. Just seems so homey and inviting doesn't it?

  41. I missed the party yesterday. I had to drive into the city and run some errands. I am having 3 of my best friends next Friday and Saturday staying at my house and we are going to a quilt shop hop. So I needed to get things together to make some gifts and figure out the menu. If I visited your farm I would need to stay a week because I would want to do it all. Everything you listed I love to do. But if I had to pick just one thing I think I would want to sew or craft something. Have a blessed Sunday and enjoy your week off.

Here's what I would love to do: share a cup of tea, help gather eggs, ask to snoop in your recipe box and maybe copy a few, and ask you to teach me to sew or crochet. But while they would be fun things, I think that it would be best to just spend time talking about God and what He has done in our lives.

  68. Hello Linda -
I hope you are enjoying your vacation!

If I were to visit you, I'd love to just walk around the farm and soak it all in. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents farm in Iowa when I was little, and I miss it. I'd love to see the open pastures and the big blue sky and just soak up the beautiful sunshine and enjoy God's creation. I'd like to take a peek at your chickens and talk about them, and if there were time I'd love to see your sewing projects and learn a thing or two. It'd be a wonderful day spent with new friends!

I'm telling others about your party on my blog!

  72. Hi Linda!

Yippee, you are on vacation! Enjoy every moment as they always pass so quickly.

Well...hmmm... if I were to spend a day in your shadow, I would definitely join you as you go to your chicken coop! I'd like to see how things are set-up, what you feed your chickens, how you tend to them, how you collect eggs, how you store eggs, etc. Can you tell I'm thinking about setting up a chicken coop? Yep, I sure am. But first, I need to learn everything I can.

    Thanks for the fun party!

  78. Good Morning Linda - I am just making it in under the wire for your party :) I have so enjoyed reading all your posts about what's going on at the farm these days & all the pics! I especially love those, thank you for taking the time to do this for us :) I can't wait to see what your project is! If I were to come & visit your home, first I would want a tour of the farm & a visit with all your feathered & furry friends...then I think maybe just some sitting' and craftin' would be fun...maybe sew some hexies for a Grandma's Flower Garden, or knit up a dishcloth...the needles would be flying. I'd love to hear all about your craft pattern business & see your fabric stash too. Thanks for the give-away.
