Part 2 On Denali's First Day With Us!

Good evening sweet ladies,

Thank you for coming to my blog and being a part of Denali's life. I love reading your comments. I can tell that you love him like we do. I can't imagine not living on a farm. I have lived in the country except when I was real little. When I was young I homesteaded with my parents, sister and brother in Juneau, Alaska. It was out where hardly anyone lived, right under a mountain and a creek behind our house. We homesteaded 48 acres. When you had a homestead you had to raise livestock and chickens. We had a big incubator (wish I had it now) and incubated chickens, ducks and geese. Guess that gave me my love for the chickens and ducks. My grandparents didn't live far from our home.........just through the woods which I walked almost everyday after school.  They had lots of horses, so in order to ride I would have to clean out the stalls before I could ride......worked for me!!!! We also had our own horse named Sundown, he was a beautiful Palomino stallion. I am thankful to the Lord that He has given us our horses, not only for us to enjoy, but now for so many of you. Thank you for making this extra fun for us here at Prairie Flower Farm.

Part 2:

Once Denali got up and started to get his bearings, he was so curious about us. That was precious!

It was amazing. We were all sitting down in a row......he first came to Tay, myself, Ellie (his new human Momma) and Tressa. We couldn't believe it. Truly a gift from God!!!!!! He was all wobbly but that was half the fun on watching him.

Just as Denali was finishing smelling each of us, Momma came and gave him a nudge from behind. Our main thing was to make sure that Denali would nurse. Every time he tried to nurse, Juneau would make this funny squeal noise and not let him. It was finally time for us to go to work. Ellie and Tay stayed home to make sure things went well.

By morning Denali was all dry and so precious! By this time baby and momma are doing better on the nursing.

Here is is a video that Taylor sent me while I was at work........TALK ABOUT PRECIOUS! I was a nursing Momma.....through and through. I loved it. It was my favorite thing when I had my babies. I would sit for ever just looking into their sweet faces. Couldn't help it.......I let the house go! Just give me my baby! Anyway all that said.......I love it when animals nurse also. I marvel at the way the Lord provided all our needs as mothers to care for our children! Tay wanted me to know that things were going well. It blessed my heart!

If you click on this picture you can see his soft coat.

Denali spends a lot of time resting and loves the sunshine.

We love this little guy! He has added to our farm. I am getting the itching to have my own baby........we will see.

It is time for me to get some rest.......only one more day and I will be home. Have so much planned for the weekend. I will write about the imprinting that we do with our horses.

You have all made this time with Denali real special for us, as we read your comments. Also welcome to all the new followers.......you are so welcome here!

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3.

Blessings to your day,

Linda

  4. How so sweet, Linda! God has given us such a precious gift in babies. They just bring out the softness. I'm glad mama came around with nursing him. Maybe it just felt funny to her, at first.

  7. What a sweet new baby! I know he will be mightily loved. We are watching our "girlies" growing, me and my grands. (4 and 9). I have 4 chickens, that are 3 months old.
These are precious spring days. Our little flower garden is growing, and I have corn up. At 47 I am blessed with my first home. A beautiful acre of lush green in Nashville tn. It is my little farm. I wish I could share pics with you of our joy also. You have inspired and encouraged me for over a year now. Congrats on the 1000 and the new baby Denali. I love the name she picked.
Happy I found your blog. God bless you and your growinggggggg family.
