I am Home, I Love My HOME!

This is my sweetie man putting up the finishing touches on the fence. He would work with a teeshirt and long sleeve shirt. Yuk!!!!!!!!!!! I would wear a teeshirt and shorts. I couldn't hardly stand to think of having a long sleeve shirt on in 100 degree weather. He said it helped. He walked around with it wet half the time. Not me!
Does it look straight? I hope the family we built it for thinks so and will like! I would love it if it was mine!

NOTE: I had the recipe wrong. 2 eggs not one. 2 tsp. baking powder not one. So sorry! I have the recipe right now! I was to much in a hurry this morning. Thank you Rose for bring that to my attention. you are a sweetie!

Me, : )

Hello everyone, I am home!!!!!!!!!! It felt so good this morning to walk around my farm and take care of my little animal collection! It has been a long week, but a very precious one, that I will tuck in my heart. Working alongside my honey was the best! The girls came and helped at different times and also kept the house running. Homeschooling has given me the opportunity to teach the girls how to care for our home. They cleaned, washed clothes, hung them on the line, put them away, baked, planned meals and did the chores. I can trust them with everything. I am so thankful for them and their willingness to serve our family. They are the sweetest girls. I have much to get done now that I am back home. Finish some projects that need to be finished up and today will enjoy 2 of our grandchildren., Yea for me! Thank you to so many of you who wrote me notes of encouragement. When I would get home late at night there were such words of sweetness and it was so appreciated. I didn't get to do much visiting on your blogs, but I will catch up now. I wrote a little yesterday after the job was done. Here is what I wrote.

It is a little after 4:30 on Tuesday and our job is finished. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have the fence built. It was fun, but today it was hot again and I just want to be in my home. smile! We worked for a little under a week. We learned a lot about fencing and when we need to build one for our farm it will come in handy! Our two daughters came in today and helped us. That was so nice! We giggled and laughed and that made the day go faster for this Momma.

I planted some flowers for the owners. I am trusting that the Lord will bless them.

I found this little dried up plant. It had tiny little seeds all tucked inside these little pockets. Amazing God! He designs so beautifully! He amazes me! I wish I could show you it in real life. One of the pockets had a covering over the top of the pocket with a little tiny hole, then as it would dry that little cap would pop off and expose the seeds, so the wind could come along and spread them out over the land. Hmmmm! Precious! I Love HIM SO MUCH!

Taylor and I went and picked a few blackberries on their property. They are so nummy! Need more then what we got to make jam. In Alaska our blueberries were very tart. I love berries that way and the blackberries seem to be the same. They will make the best jam! When I was a young girl, my girlfriend and I would pick blueberries, then we would build a fire. We would take a coffee can fill it half full of blueberries and cover with water. Then we would cook it over the open fire (I wonder if we washed the berries, if not we ate a lot of worms), then we would add some (a lot) of sugar and it would make syrup for our sourdough pancakes. What a fun memory to think on today. Oh my, I would love to go back and have one day like that. I think I should give you my "Best Blueberry Muffins". OKAY, here it is!

The Best Blueberry Muffins

1/3 cup oil

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 cup milk

2 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

2 cup flour

1 tsp. vanilla

1/4 tsp. salt

Topping 1 Tb. sugar with 1/4 tea. cinnamon

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

Prepare muffin cup. In medium sized bowl beat oil and sugar, then add eggs one at a time beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla, baking powder, salt and then the milk. Fold in flour and blueberries, last. Spoon into muffin cups. Sprinkle with topping. This recipe was given to me by a special friend along time ago. It is the best. I don't see why you couldn't substitute blackberries or raspberries for the blueberries. This is a nummy recipe for sure! Enjoy! Love bunches, Prairie Flower FArm

Ick, I just had a tick walking on my neck. Fine way to end my job! Creepy little bug! I am thankful. I didn’t have any attach themselves to me other than that one at the beginning of the job! Thank you Jesus.

So glad to touch base with you all today. I have tons to get done today! Tonight I will do some blog hopping! Can't wait to see what has been going on!

I will be planing a party to celebrate something! How about a celebration of. . . . . . . No Reason Party? I am sooooooo glad I am home today! ! ! ! and so glad you all are a part of my LIFE! You are God's special gifts! He is so thoughtful to do that for me, us!

Love and hugs, not from the job site, but from my little farm

in the middle of Kansas.

Thinking of YOU Today!

A Kansas wild sunflower, just for you!

Hello sweet ladies!
One more day on the fence and we are done! I did real good yesterday. Didn't fall into any holes (that is good). I do want to thank you for all the sweet notes you left me! We worked in nooooooo wind and over 100 degree weather. Did anyone say that maybe I am vintage? Heehee! It was a very good day, but when I got home I was soooooooo tired. Checked my blog comments and I was so encouraged! Thank you so much! I can't wait to get back to my home. I love my home!!!!!!! I have decided while I have been out there in the field working that I need a "Party", when we finish. So when I get home I am going to make something real special and we are going to have a giveaway! It is one of my most favorite things to do on my blog, well, besides sharing Jesus with my friends! So be looking.

Please, if you would continue to keep us in your prayers as we work. My Mr. Phil had a piece of equipement called a post hole digger fall on his leg. It scared me half to death. It hit his leg and it swelled the size of two goose eggs. It is a bruise about 10" long. Ick! He also had it hit his arm and shoulder. We are so grateful. He has just kept working along without any pain! No kidding. It is a God thing, we know it. We want to thank those who have been praying for us on this job. You are so precious and we just want you to know that!

Here is some good info!

A sweetie blogger friend said to NOT put tobacco spray on our tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!! So glad I didn't! Thank you Patricia for warning us!!!!! I just love how we take care of each other here in blogland!

She said:

FYI ~~ Please keep the tobacco spray away from your tomatoes and plants related to them. Tobacco plants carries virus diseases that affect tomato plants. Smokers shouldn't be around the tomato plants either.

Have to hurry to get to the field this morning early! Thank you for encouraging us!

LOTS of hugs going your way today and I will be praying for you all as I work.

Squash bug, Vintage and Blushing Tomatoes!

Good Morning Sweet Ladies,

Hope your weekend was a good one. Our Sunday was restful and then we found lots to do in the garden. It is growing so well. How is your garden doing? I would love to see pictures!

Mr. Phil and I were laying down straw on our sweet potato patch. I heard some rucus going on over by the chicken coop. It was Momma duck getting in and out of a pan we had out for the animals to get their water. She was splashing and have a wonderful time cleaning her feathers! She makes her wings flap and water goes a flying. I immediately thought! HER NEST, I can see how many eggs, Mrs. Americana might have laid. I ran over with camera to find. . . . . .

. . . . . her nest. Mrs. Puddle Duck covered her eggs real nice, so nobody can see them. Isn't that just so precious of the Lord, to imprint on her to protect her eggs? Love it!

I gently pulled back the fluff of feathers and little sticks. You can count 6 of Mrs. Americana's eggs. That is why she and Mr. Rooster were sticking so close to the nest. Poor thing, she will have to lay another nest of her own. There are 9 duck eggs. I can't hardly believe that she will have 9 little ducks and 6 little chickens. I will have to separate the chick eggs out. They will want to learn to swim and that won't be a good thing! Smile.

The squash bugs have been getting on my zuccini and squash. We had a friend over and he said to take 5 gallons of water and a pouch of tobacco. I am not into tobacco, but for killing squash bugs in a natural way in my garden I will buy it. Phil and I don't buy tobacco, so we felt a little funny. We asked for it and told the lady we were using it to make a brew and spray it on our plants that had squash bugs. She said she had heard the same thing. I guess our friend said it works fantastic. I will try it and let you know!
Fill your pot with water.

Put in the tobacco and cook for an hour. Strain and put liquid into a sprayer. Spray over and under the plant. It should kill the squash bugs, it did our friends. I dislike squash bugs, they killed one of my cantaloupe plants already!. They are creepy bugs!

I placed one of my favorite green chairs in the garden to take a rest ever so often. This is what I could see.

See the sweet potato rows. I have two long, long rows. They will, as my friend Rosa says, get real bossy! They will spread allllll over the patch. They grow real fast and look beautiful when the patch gets all filled up. I will show later!

I thought I had lost all my pickle (cucumber) plants, but I had not! They came back fine after the flooding rain we had. I love making our refrigerator pickles. The cucumbers should be growing pretty fast now. Things like this really bless my heart. To think that our Lord would care for our needs. Amazing Grace!

See the baby Moon and Stars watermelon?

The tomatoes are blushing (as a sweet blogger friend calls it). Soon we will have our salsa. The onions, peppers and cayenne peppers are growing also. Can't wait. This week probably, I would think!

Thought you might like to see the gate Mr. Phil and I built. We are so excited that we did it! Looks so pretty and it will work great for the owners. Today we will finish the long fence. The posts are all in and now we need to just put up the wire. It will be nice to have this job finished! ! ! !

Today I will take some Forget-Me-Nots and Alaska Shasta Daisy seeds to the job site. I will surprise the family we are working for. I hope the little flowers will come up. I will have to say a little prayer, so that God will help me! I will plant and He can grow, if He wants to. Oh, how I hope He wants to! ! ! ! !

P.S. I almost forgot to tell you. I just found out, that I am vintage. I was at a very precious blog. The young lady has little children and she was talking about her momma who had saved some sweet outfits from way back, for her daughter to use on her son, if she ever had one. The daughter called them sweet “vintage outfits” Then she put the date on a close up picture. It was from the 70’s. Tee hee! "VINTAGE", ME? I giggled to myself. It reminded me of the other day I was asking Tressa to pray for us, as we were about to go out and start building on the fence. I kiddingly said, You know I am old! She said. “Mom, you aren’t old, 100 is old.” Hahahaha! I like it, one tells me I am “vintage” and Tress tells me at 58 I am not old, love it. I am going to listen to Tressa! What ever my age, I want to be content. I want to keep doing the same things I have always done. Until that day I am not young anymore. . . . . I'll just keep thinking that I am young! My sweetie daughter said so!

I am off to build a fence with my honey!

Love, hugs and prayers from the farm,

Good Day!

I love Him!

Have a wonderful day in the Lord today, know I will be thinking of all of you and what your day might hold. You are all such precious ladies and the Lord wants you to know that!

Long, long day yesterday! My Alicia found a patch of blackberries, a patch of sandhill plums and we picked some! I also fell in a hole and Alicia laughed so hard she almost ______ her pants. My prince charming ran to my rescue. I didn't get hurt at alllllll!!!! I laughed so hard myself. It was a good medicine. Maybe that is why my leg is hurting a bit this morning. Smile!

Well, off to church to see what the Lord has for us today

Oh and you are welcome to use the pic if you like. I like this little wheelbarrow so much. My friend Vicki gave it to me for my birthday! Cutie cute!

Love and hugs!

Is It Warm In Your Area?

Hello sweet friends,
First off, I want to thank those of you who went over to welcome my sweet girl Tressa, who started her new blog yesterday! She was very excited to see that you all had been there! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Okay, you know how I was telling you about how Mr. Rooster and how he stays so close to Mrs. Puddle Duck's nest yesterday? Well, I got a really interesting comment yesterday and I want to share with you what I learned. Angie from Blissfuly Blessed, she is a new blogger (listen to the song on her blog called, Lead Me) I love it! It is about the song writer and who he wants to be for his family. Really good. Pray for our men that they could be that. They really need the prayers of their wives!! Angie also captured an adorable picture and she has a sweet way of taking you right to the spot. This is what she said:

I have a comment about the rooster staying so close. We have a duck that laid her eggs under the stairs. The rooster was staying close also because the chickens were trying to get her nest every time she left. She left one time and he pecked a hole in one of her eggs. I know it was him because he was right there we actually pinned him up for a while the chickens didnt bother her any more. Something got her eggs there was only a few. So she actually moved and started laying eggs some where else. I guess she did not feel safe. Just thought I would share that little bit of information.

After she said that it got me to thinking. . . . . . so I ran out to see what I should do now! Guess WHAT? Miss Americana was sitting on the eggs. I couldn't believe it! She thinks it is her nest I think.

I took her off the nest and put her in a chicken pen with the ducks and little chickens. Then Mr. Phil and I ran around the farm trying to catch Mr. Rooster. . . . . . a sight in its self. So now they both have to stay all penned up until she has her babies. It would be horrible if something happened to the eggs.

I went this morning to the coop to take pictures of the way the "Chicks" patted down the straw to make a nest. Remember yesterday when I told you I would take a pic? Neat of the Lord, how he put it in the hen to make a nice nest. Makes me think, am I making a nice nest in my home? All I can say is I am trying! Any way. . . .

I then went to feed everyone and when I came up to Mrs. Puddle Duck she started to move a little and hiss. I was ready with the camera. . . . . guess what I saw? One of Mrs. (she isn't Miss anymore) Americana's eggs under Mrs. Puddle Duck. Do you see the egg? It is the brown one. I only say one, she may have more. That is a hoot! My farm is a little funny I guess. Little Miss Fluff hatched 2 ducks, so I guess it is Mrs. Puddle Ducks turn to have a baby chick. I love it!!!!!! Farm life is so wonderful!

Mr. Phil and I are off to build the fence again today. It is supposed to be windy and hot today. Here is a pic of the first part of the fence. I was so dirt tired, I forgot to take a picture of the gate we finished. I will today. It is beautiful!!!!! We both were so excited that we did it, ourselves. We had never built a fence before like this and we looked and looked at different fences around. We get paid for doing this job and we are so excited, that it is looking good! The Lord is providing for us and I am grateful. Thank you all who pray for our family. Our girls will be helping with the long fence we will work on today.

Look at the little friends we made who live in the field . The little girl in front is going to have a baby. She is a miniature pony. Then there is stud on the right and another pony that is white in the middle. They kept bugging us to get out of the fence on to the side of the pasture we were on.

Mr. Phil and I took a little rest and went to cool off in town, we drove by a garage sale!!! He stopped. . . . . . . I found this. It was so fun to break up my day with a little fun. I love garage sales, but never seem to have the time. He made the time for me. The greenery in the inside is garlands. THought it was so sweet. Want to put it out in the Potter's Shed among the CHRISTmas lights. Cute? They were normally 10.00 each and I got them for $1.00. The bushel basket was a dollar also. I am going to make somethings real cute out of it. You will see at a later date what it will be.

Flowers for you! Blackeyed Susan's are another favorite flower of mine.

Loved coming home and reading your comments. They all bless my heart!
I had this on my computer from my grand-daughter Ellie. Can't get better than that!

P.S. Don't know if any of you have read any of Josh Harris books (he wrote I Kissed Dating Goodbye) or his brother's Alex and Brett, who wrote Do Hard Things. Anyway, found out this morning, that their Momma is dying click and see their family, the love their family has, is precious! Breaks my heart. Please pray for their family as they are saying their goodbyes. There will be sons and daughters and little ones, that won't have their gramma with them. Pray for her husband. He is a gem. I can't imagine, but I KNOW the Lord gives Grace when it is needed! I Praise HIm!

Love and a huge "big hug" from ME!
