A New Year.......and remembering my last year!

Dear sweet ladies,

2013........can you believe it? I can't.....it seems like we just started with 2012. Have you been praying about the new goals the Lord may have for you this year? Every morning I wake.....before I get out of bed I say, "Good morning Jesus". I ask for guidance for the day....thanking Him for the different things I am thankful for...it helps me to put my thoughts on Him. I want my sweet Jesus to know that He is the most important part to the beginning of my day!

AS I have been reflecting over what has happened this last year starting with last January of 2012

January

how we got V.......rescued from an orphanage that closed it's doors for adoption after he left. Thanking the Lord for such a precious gift!

February

The month my sweet man agreed and encouraged me to enjoy my love for sheep and starting with a little orphan lamb we named Squirt.......all the other animals enjoyed him also!

March

Later in the month Willow, Twig (in front) and Leaf became a part of Prairie Flower Farm.......to live! Talk about some fun stories they gave us over these last months. Like the time V and I locked the babies out of the pen.....and V, myself and Willow were inside the pen...we tried to put a halter on her face. Wrong thing to do! She butted me and backed me up against the wall.....hurt my body a lot....then V and Willow did flips and flops before my eyes. I laughed so hard! Never ever will I do that again. I hurt for a week! It was a funny memory though that V and I talk about often. Right now Willow is over at Crescent C Farm.......being bred so we can have babies this spring.......she will come back soon. I also will have 2 other Moms and another little lamb that is about 3 months old.  It will be lively this spring for sure!

April

was the month for lots of babies on our farm.

Baby chicks

and baby kittens.

New baby colt Denali was born.....talk about a blessing!

He was meeting his human Momma a dew hours later and gave her kisses! A true gift to Prairie Flower Farm!

May

I was always in the garden!

Baby Chicks started hatching from the incubator. This pic is one of my favs. Look at that precious little foot........soon it kicks it way out.

Sweet Delainey was a joy to her family......her Grammy follows PFF and has needed prayer many times over the last year.....all of you prayed. Little Delainey died on October 16 and has left a huge empty hole in her families heart, but while she was here......she blessed many! Please continue to pray for them as they grieve for their loss.

Little Tenlee also needed lots of prayer and has been doing very well over this last year. Regina her Gramma has been a part of our lives here at Prairie Flower Farm.

Momma blue sat on some what I thought were American eggs.......wrong.......she became the Momma of 18 new baby ducks. They were the joy of my heart! Loved watching them with her.

June

Twig and Leaf grew!

Wheat Harvest!
We love hearing the combine engines starting up......watching the trucks leaving the fields going to the grain elevator.

A very special time of the year for sure! This was our son's crop. God supplied just enough rain......we have been in a drought for 2 years now....praying that we can come out of it this year.

Tonya (daughter in love), myself, granddaughter and our two daughters all ran out to the field with buckets in hand to get some fresh wheat straight from the trucks.

Everyone started letting the wind blow the chaff........away......getting it ready so we could......

use the wheat grinder and grind fresh whole wheat for fresh biscuits. We made a precious memory for all! The labor of farming finally pays off and feeds our family and others......good feeling!

July

WE kept praying......and we got more rain.....
much needed for our parched land. Answered prayer!!!!!

More babies......my sweet little loves of my life!

"Prairie Girl"...........was moved to the farm from being up
in the pasture for so many years! V and I started tearing in! We will start working on her again........ when it gets warmer.

Eggs were in plenty supply........made egg noodles and egg noodles........froze them for future use! I love working in my little
farm kitchen!

I am going to stop here and finish up my review of the highlights of 2012. As I have been working on this post......I have been reminded of the Goodness of the LORD in my life. I am sure that you could think back on some you have yourself. If you have a "gratefulness story" tell us......we would love to hear!

This morning I wrote this on my fb status.

Good morning....way back when I started my PFF blog and fb...never did I think that women all across the miles would first of all come and second become such a support to one another of encouragement and friendship! Thank you ladies..you have become such a precious part of my life...a true treasure! Continue to pray for one another and make your requests known when you need some hugs! God has done a very sweet thin, I love you bunches and I am praying...."May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us...that His ways may be known on earth...His salvation among all nations! Ps. 67:1,2

Hugs, from the farm, Linda

P.S. It has been snowing all morning......what a joy! We have up to 3" I think! LOVE THE SNOW!

I will leave you with this verse the Lord gave this morning.....I think it will be my year verse.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8

To think He will have His eye on me! Precious thought!

  7. Linda, beautiful as always. Thanks for including Delainey. Love that picture. She was so pretty in her Easter dress. Each day God's Grace is sufficient to get me through, and I am grateful! Praying for a Blessed New Year for you and your dear family, and especially Shannon and her family. Prayers please for my niece Rachel who is undergoing radiation treatments for thyroid cancer and has to be separated from her 3 girls, ages 4, 2 and 3 months. Very hard for her. Thank you so much. Love and hugs, Sue
