Hello.....it is Friday!!!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies, this morning we had the radio on and heard this song. It is by Third Day.  I wanted to share it with you. Hope it touches your heart like it does mine every time I hear it.

Hugs and God bless your day......I am praying for you.....so is
He!!!!

Linda

Your Love, Oh Lord
Reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness
Stretches to the skies
Your righteousness
Is like the mighty mountain
Your justice flows like the ocean's tide

I will lift my voice
To worship You my King
And I will find my strength
In the shadow of Your wings

This is a good thing to remember.....hope it blesses you!!!!!!!

The coffee house and what it looks like inside!

Hello sweet ladies,

On my fb last night I said that I would take some pic's. Last night we worked again at the coffee house. We love going there when they need help.....it helps us to learn what it would be like.

This is the back area of the shop where you order your coffee, drinks, teas, sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts. As you can see there are very high ceilings. The tiles are original from when it was first built....it is neat to think about it years ago being used as the Sterling Bulletin Newspaper. We will learn the history of it's beginnings.

Here is another view looking towards the front! Pretty isn't it?

Here is a close-up pic of the ceiling.  Everything about this shop is unique and beautiful.

When you come thru the front door, this is what you see to the right. Tables and chairs are also around.....I just didn't get a pic of them. I will get some more when I am in there next time.

Last night Tress and I worked on potting plants......pricing......and arranging.....we enjoyed ourselves.........it is a peaceful place. Shannon (the owner) taught my sweet man some more responsibilities that need to be done each day.

The Shannon and Deborah have used it for the Lord's work. Pastor Dave and Lynn used it for the same reason. If the Lord gives it to us, we will use it for Him also! Tress and I kind of pinch our cheeks.....we are all just following the Lord's leading....that is always a good thing....right?

Thank you for following this adventure with us!
We covet your prayers.......please. So many have said you will come and visit......do you know how fun that is for me to think on?

Blessings to your day!

Birch

Hello sweet ladies,

SONday I took a photo shoot of Birch......see how thick his neck has gotten. I don't know if you can tell, but his head has gotten huge also. He is definitely a big ram now, not my sweet boy that loved my face when I got close to him. He will be used to breed from now on and we will keep him penned. I love his wool.......been collecting from his Momma and Willow and Olivia......some day I would love to see wool spun from them. Had ideas in my mind for some years......just praying about them!!!!!!

Trusting your day will be a sweet one!!!!!

Hugs,
Linda

Our Secret Is OUT! Oh and a little party!

GOOD DAY Sweet Ladies!!!!!!!

Okay to say I am excited is an understatement!!!!!!! For about 3 months I have had a secret. It happened soon after our sweet girl and sweet son in love's wedding. You know how we wanted to start having weddings on the farm using the Sanctuary? Well we started praying about it. Lots of people started encouraging us!  We thought it would be neat to build a big building on the farm......were we could have little floral area.....commercial kitchen.....and a reception room....about 3 weeks later we heard that a coffeehouse was for sale!!!!!! Ekkkkkk!!!!!! "Oh Heavenly Father please give us direction....In Jesus Name....me!!!!! He has....every step of this path!!!!!!! Right now we are walking it through with Godly council. I have to stay it has been real hard for Mr. Sweet man to keep Tressy and my feet on the ground. We want to do this to please our Lord and so there has been much prayer. Our boss knows and so we are free to share with others (I have for so long wanted to tell you!!). I do know from the time we had to go outside our home to find employment, many of you have prayed that we would be able to get back to doing the things we used to do....like designing, crafting and such. Please please keep us in your prayers. We are in the beginning of the process.......some times we are so excited that our heads feel like they are going to pop off....other times we get fearful, then we are reminded the Lord has our best in mind, what ever that looks like. Mainly we want our lives to count for HIM! This would be a huge opportunity for that. We see how working at the college helped us learn the things we would need to know in running a restaurant. Amazing how the Lord works in the details of our lives when we don't know what might be in the future.  We are on our 4th year at the college kitchen.....(doesn't seem that long), but He has prepared us for sure! Details have fallen into place......amazing, just need the financing and we will be set!!!!! God will provide if He wants us to have it!

"A Dream"

Now I will share a little about the "place". Our old Pastor (Dave), his wife and my friend Lynn, my crafter friend, bought and restored the "Old Home News Paper" building. They fixed it up beautifully. They sold it to an adorable family that just had their 6th baby. They need to sell it and they chose us!!!! They have used it as a ministry to the college kids and community. God has blessed them. They stepped out in faith and asked the Lord for direction and He gave it! They are the most precious family and have brought much joy to Sterling!!!!! Now with their new little one they need new owners. They knew our heart for people and told us that they were selling. Ask if Tressy and I freaked.....yup we did!

Ww were so tired!!!!!! This is of the owner Deborah (left) and our daughter Tressa. Tress was having so much fun!

So our journey began. We have been helping the Bartlett family  after work in the evenings (we love it).  We also worked two nights before Valentines Day and that was so much fun. Tressy loves the floral part of the store oh and the coffee!! I will take pic's of the inside of the store...... so you can see. It has a floral department, a food area where they sell nummy sandwiches, soups and salads, specialty coffees, lattes, frappes, teas, smoothies, desserts and energy bars. Now you see why want to pursue this place. We would add some new items to the menu...like gourmet cupcakes..... eekkkkk! A Dream come true, if the Lord allows it to happen! It will have to be the LORD no doubt. We want to love on Mommas and their children, college kids (they are down there all the time and they are so excited about us trying to buy it) and whoever else walks in the doors. : ) We want to do a lot of teaching classes, of things I have learned over the years.  Soooo that is my story that I have not been able to share until now. We are enjoying the journey....trusting the Lord will open the doors! We have shared with the owners our hopes and dreams for the place. They are such an encouragement!

Auntie and new Bartlett baby.....precious memories!
We are getting to be a part of this precious family, they love love Jesus....they rub off on those they touch!! Our town has been blessed!

The one thing that would be fun is to invite you all to come here to our town!!!!!! Would that not be sooooo fun? I would love it and as many of you know I have prayed that you could come and be here at Prairie Flower Farm!!!!!!! I will keep praying and please join me!

Now for some fun.......last night sweet man, Tress and I had to go to Wichita. Our daughter in love told us about this wonderful place called Fresh Market..... so we wanted to see it what it is like. If the Lord lets us get Broadway we would like to put in some bulk food items. It was beautiful!!! Loved all the displaying of their foods and gift items. This display was at the front door when I came in......cute cute. I was careful with my money and only bought a few things (I wanted to buy everything in it)......just "had" to have a set of salt and pepper shakers and of course another set for a party...right? I thought of you all while I was there!

Aren't they the sweetest?????? I had to have them
pose with Missy Hen!

We will have the party starting today and have it until

Monday February 24th at noon!

Gluten Free Pizza Crust Recipe!

Hello sweet ladies,

praying your SONday will be a blessed one.

Last night our kids all had a surprise birthday party for my sweet man!!!! They also invited friends of our family.....it was a very sweet evening out at the refuge cabin. The weather was beautiful and warmer then it has been in the last months!!!!! That was a blessing.

We spent Valentines Day with some our grands. This is what I did.

Our grand daughter Ellie is eating gluten free. When she came out last night, she wanted to try a new gluten free recipe for the pizza crust. Here is the recipe. She brought her cookbook called Easy Gluten-Free Baking to try out one of the recipes. We decided on this one. One of you ladies from my fb asked for the recipe....thought it would be easier to put it up here. Enjoy!!!

Thin-Crust Pizza

1 1/2 cups brown rice flour
1 1/2 cups white rice flour, plus more for dusting
1/3 cup potato starch
1/3 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons xanthan gum
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Wet Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for pan
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups warm water (110 degree F)
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons)
1. In a medium blow, whisk together dry ingredients
2. In a small bowl, combine wet ingredients.
3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Using a stand mixer, mix dough on low speed for 1 minute. Turn mixer to medium-high and mix. Turn mixer to medium-high and mix dough for 8 minutes; scrape down the sides of the bowl at least once during the mixing.
4. Lightly oil a 12?18 inch cookie sheet. On a lightly rice-floured surface, roll dough out into a large rectangle. transfer dough to the cookie sheet. Press dough to fit the pan. Lightly spray a piece of plastic wrap with cooking spray and cover the pan lightly with plastic wrap. Allow dough to rise for 45 minutes in a warm, draft free environment.
5. At least 15 minutes before dough has finished rising, preheat oven to 425 degrees.
6. Remove plastic wrap from pan and bake dough, without topping, for 12 to 15 minutes.
7. Remove crust from the oven and immediately top with desired toppings.
8. Return pizza to oven and bake until cheese melts and is golden brown. Allow pizza to cool 3 to 5 minutes.

We shaped our pizza into a heart shape for Valentine's Day, don't you think it turned out sweet?

Today after church the weather will be beautiful......you will find me in the chicken house......cleaning it. It will be a restful day here on the farm......much needed after busy weeks with ice and snow. Always makes chores a little on the hectic side!

There has been some exciting things going on in our lives lately. We would appreciate prayer please. We can hardly wait to tell you all what is happening!!!!!!! Thank you to all who have prayed for our family for years.....God has heard them......and is answering big time!

Please leave a comment as to how life has been for you. I would love to here!

Hugs to your SONday!!!!!!! Praying for
blessings in your life!

Linda

Snow and more to come!

Hello sweet ladies,

Missy here is wondering how you all have been?

Snow snow snow.....our farm is so pretty.....all clean and white!!!!!!!!!!!! I know so many of you have had the same at your place. When all was said and done we got up to 8-10". It was beautiful watching the snow fall....huge flakes at times. Blizzard conditions hit our farm for sure.....but it was okay....all the animals were safe from the storm. It always takes longer to do the chores when we have cold and snowy weather.......but it didn't stop my girls from laying........their eggs for me!

We keep a warm light in the coop and give them hot water everyday!!!!!! They are being good girls for me! Love the colors. They are weathering
the snow quite well....and I am thankful.

In our farmhouse I started my tomato plants on January the 26th.

Three days later they started popping out of the soil.....always amazes me. If you want to follow how I do this.....go here. Only God could do this for us!!!!! I know it......because I believe His Word.....it is true!

The next day when I got home........look what I saw! Beautiful, don't you think? Three days later I transplanted the little stems each... into little dixie cups.

These little tomato plants are 10 days old (Feb. 5th). All the plants are under shop lights. I keep the light very close to the baby plants. Their stems will grow stronger. I will show you as they grow. If you notice the second leaves are starting to grow! It is so fascinating to me!

When we came home tonight their were ducks in a farmer's field close to our farm........they were coming in by the hundreds. We have always loved watching the ducks and geese every winter. One year we had lots of snow geese in our south field from our farm. Beauty to behold! God is good!

Well....it is time to call it a night. When you read this it will be Friday.......yea!!!!!! Home for the weekend! I will like!

Hugs to each of you and God bless......think of you so often and give thanks that you are in my life!

Linda

SnowStorm!!!!!!!!!!!! Lotsa snow coming!!!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies ..........it is late, but I just had to stop and say hello. As soon as we got home tonight we started working on getting the farm ready for the storm........

first I went to the big hen house and gathered the eggs. Twenty-four.......yes I am thankful! Some are so big I can't even close the lid to the egg carton. I love wiping them off with a warm washcloth and placing them in the carton.......never will I tire of doing that each day. The new Americana hens are doing wonderful! The three the man brought me along with the Rhode Island Reds. I am so thankful the new girls are laying so nice.

We have a big snowstorm coming our way. Lots of snow! Up to 12" possible. We could use some prayers. All the animals are bedded down and safe!

Let me know if I can be praying for you. I know so many will be in the storm also.

Welcome to the new followers........I have noticed you!!!!!

Hugs to you and may the Lord bless you richly!!!!!!

Linda
