Merry CHRISTmas to each of you precious ladies!

Hello sweet ladies.........Merry CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!

We have had lots of fog,

we woke to snow and we have had some beautiful weather.

This little baby lamb has been such a blessing!!!!!!! I could sit for hours and watch him. Time doesn't permit it, but the little time I do have with.... makes life so precious! God knew we alllll needed this gift.

I trust that each of you are enjoying your time with family during this CHRISTmas season. If you are alone this year, know that I am praying for you. So much can change our life and I just want you to know that I am thinking of you if saddness has happened. He will get you through whatever is before you!!!! Call out to Him.......He will listen. Take refuge in His Word.....it will keep you close to Him

"You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your Word." Psalm 119:114

I know lots of changes have happened in my life these last few months and it has taken all that I have to keep life as normal as I can. My trust has been in the Lord as I live out what He has before our family each day. Days have been exhausting, but He has kept us wrapped in His care. Now that the CHRISTmas season is soon behind us, things will slow down at the coffeehouse......I think. Wink!

The farm continues to bring bits of joy. One of my little pullets laid a tiny tiny egg. Simple things........just bless my day! Miss the farm......but thankful when the Lord carves a little bit of time for me to enjoy things like this!

I have enjoyed when friends come to the coffeehouse......the other day my farm girlfriend Gail came and we sat and exchanged gifts and ate a cup of soup. Sweet fellowship! It was wonderful catching up on each families news. She made a beautiful pair of half gloves......my favorite color......red! The packaging was beautiful!

39 years ago today I gave birth to a very special son. Joshua Aaron Stubbs. He has taught me much.....as each one of my children have over the years. His heart as helped me to learn much about forgiveness. My prayer for him this year is that He would grow in wisdom.......as he continues his journey here on earth. May God bless and keep him with all He wants to do with his life and may many come to know Jesus as he serves Him daily.

I wanted to wish you all a Merry CHRISTmas!

Love you!!!!!!!

Linda

Our CHRISTmas Lamb

Good morning.........sweets......so fun to be here early this morning to share with you our happenings on the farm. BIG NEWS. No fluff on the pictures. Just want to get them up so you can enjoy right along side us!

Yesterday morning My Sweet Man came in from chores and said that Willow had twins........only one made it though.....I was thankful I didn't have to witness that........out the door I flew!
Meet Bittersweet!

He looks so much like his daddy Birch.......has Momma's markings in his face though. Notice his wooly legs.

His Momma talked and talked to him......little grunting noises. So so precious. So wish you could all be here to witness this miracle. God blessed me so with this little one.

Little lambs are so precious. They go all over.....under the head.......under her tummy......they are always getting stuck some where on the Mom.

Pure sweetness! God blessed me so!

Love his sweet face.

He tried to nurse, but was still wobbly......and cold.......called my Shepherdess friend and she said he needed to be warm.......and also some colostrum. This is the part I dislike most about having to not getting to work and live all day at our farm.......

We bundled him in a towel and off to the my friends farm we went........he was going to stay with her and get all warm. She fed him colostrum and brought him back in a few hours. She text me that he was doing great. Talk about thankful to have a friend who would do that!!!!!!!

Left the coffeehouse later in the day to check on him and get some warm lights in the little shed before night time.  I will continue tomorrow with the other pictures. He was laying in the sun when we got there. He is so tiny!!!!!

I have two other Mommas who could also have some babies. This is a horrible time of year to have baby lambs. Birch was just not thinking!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you enjoy the pictures. We love this little CHRISTmas lamb, but we are going to have to be real careful to keep him safe throughout the winter.

Thank you so for always being here when I have exciting news. Knew you would enjoy this!

Blessings and hugs to your day!!!

A CHRISTmas Dinner at the Coffeehouse

Hello sweet ladies.....how are you all? Are you all getting ready for the CHRISTmas season? We seem to be more busy than we could ever imagine. The time we get to spend at the farm has been wonderful. I am off for two days and I will be getting the farm ready for family and putting up our tree. Can't wait! We have been working hard at the coffeehouse each day! The other night we hosted one of our families who wanted to have their CHRISTmas Party for all their workers at Broadway Market. It was a precious time. Thought I would show you pic's of what we did.........we started with..........

Winterberries........I had never heard of them and one of our Floral companies we buy from shared with us some ideas for Christmas decorating. They are beautiful.....when we open the box they are wrapped in brown craft paper.......tied with twine in a bow. Now that might sound like nothing......but to me I just love love love simple and it brightens my day when I open the box! The two companies we work with are very interested in making our business a success. They have been so helpful!

My sweet man was helpful getting lots of our dishes from our farm into the shop. We washed and shined every piece.

I made up some jars like I did for Taylor's wedding. Burlap, a strip of ribbon and a handmade ribbon rose....all out of red gingham.....my favorite kind of ribbon!

Red lanterns  (we sell these at the Market), pinecones, evergreens, winterberries decorated down the center of each of the tables.

Each place setting I placed a folded napkin, candy cane  story
and silverware with little tags tied with scripture "And thou shalt call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins. Matt. 1:27"........my favorite verse in the world.

After the dinner everyone came to the back to the coffee area and we served, lattes, coffee, smoothies and Homemade Carmel Apple Cheesecake......num......it was a sweet night and when we got home we fell into bed only to wake up to another day at the coffeehouse!!!!!!! So today is church and home for two days.......thanking my Jesus for a little break!!

Love you ladies! Tell me of your CHRISTmas ideas or plans.....would love love to hear!

Hugs and God bless!

Bottle Brush CHRISTmas Trees

Hello sweets,

I really should be in bed, but I just had to share what I did today at the Coffeehouse! Oh and I did take pic's of what we have done so far.......I will get them up! Promise!

I have seen bottle brush tree where they are dyed by dipping green ones into pure bleach. So today I tried it. They are so so cute! Mine
turned a really sweet rose pink after I waited until all the green was gone. Some I kept in until they were pure white.....really cream, but so so pretty. I am going back to Hobby Lobby and buy some more!

What are you making special for CHRISTmas? I have lots of plans......now finding the time!

Just wanted to say hello again.......love hearing from you all, makes my day just a little bit sweeter!

Hugs to each of you,

Linda

Grace

Good morning sweet ladies,

Life is just way to fast for my comfort! I knew that the coffeehouse was going to be different.......but honestly I didn't think it would take up so much of my life. I am not complaining......it's just the way it is for us at this time,  I so miss my farm, but when I do get to be home I truly enjoy each and every moment of it. I appreciate every minute the Lord gives me to see the wheat fields growing.........watching my ducks waddle about the farm, hearing Mr. Rooster"S"......yup I have a few that serenade me around 6 in the morning......cleaning up my coops and laying fresh straw......talking to my "Girly Hen's .......cleaning my little farm house......washing and hanging fresh clean sheets on the line......walking out and sitting on the Sanctuary and just sitting and letting the  SON woo my heart to Himself.....life seems to be quite busy for me now.....but Jesus has me right where He wants me.  It takes a lot of time and energy to start up a business and it consumes your time.....but I also have blessings that my Jesus gives me during the day at the coffeehouse.......such as......a young man (Ant) who got busted for drugs.......and because of our Saul (one of our college boys who has been in our life the last 4 years) had shared the gospel with this young man a month before he got arrested. Ant called Saul from jail.......because he knew he could trust Saul........Ant got saved........in jail! After he got out Saul brought him down to the coffeehouse so we could love on him. Ant was free!!!!!! Not from the acts and consequences of his sin......but eternal life was his! We watched the Lord do some amazing things! We ended up going to the courthouse with and God met us all there! He still has to wait to go back to the Judge, but we do know that God will be with Ant and Ant says know matter what he is served......he will tell everyone about Jesus!!!!!!!  There are lots more stories that walk through the front door of the Coffeehouse.....and I tuck each one in my heart and pray that my Heavenly Father will continue to equip our family to help with all the needs. Just want to thank you for your prayers. Can't wait for the day that life slows down a bit!!!!!!

Mr. Roo!

Love my little chick that is growing up. She or follows and peeps around my legs.......it is my little gift!

This is what I see at the coffeehouse out the back door. Nothing like what I see at home on the farm.......but still beautiful!

Can you believe it is going to be CHRISTmas? We are working in the Coffeehouse to make it all pretty. I will be showing you all pictures.

Love you all......hugs to your day and God bless each and every one of you.......when I say I miss you all I so mean it. It's sad for me to not get to blog.

Please let me know how you all are,

please!

How are you????????

Hello sweet ladies........

My sweet Olivia......love her face..hope she is pregnant!! Hope they all are for that matter! Come early Spring we will know!

I so miss my time posting and saying hello to you all.......please comment and tell me how you are. We have been putting in 92 hours a week since we opened up a month and almost 3 weeks ago! Talking about a change in life style. So much to learn, but we are now getting things together a bit. With the time change I am at least getting to see the sun rise. It is dark when we come home so that has been a bit difficult with chores. We have made some changes on our hours at the coffeehouse and that will give us more time to be home on our farm!!!!!! Ask if I am excited???

Tressa and I are having fun with the plant greenhouse truck comes right to our front door. We tend to like the unique different kinds of plants........this one just jumped out at me. It is called a stage horn fern. Doesn't it look like antlers?  Just had to show you! Have you ever seen one like this?

The time at the coffeehouse has been busy. Getting to walk with those who are suffering or just need a friend has been precious.  I am seeing how God has a plan and by us having the market we are part of it! College kids are coming, so that has been sweet!!!!! Three girls come weekly and read the Word......OUT LOUD sitting in the what I call living room area! I am sure it is music to the Father's ears.....I am blessed and so is my family to watch growth happen! We keep encouraging the girls on what a blessing they are to us! Such a simple thing.....but so powerful to the heart!

We start to decorate for CHRISTmas in a few weeks at the coffeehouse and home. It is my favorite time of the year...... so I can hardly wait!

We are sooooo thanking the Lord for the wheat crop that is growing on our fields! It will go into the winter stronger because of the stand we have now. The weather has been pleasant and we did get a bit of rain on it last week! That makes a farmer happy!!!!!!

Hope all is well with you......please write and let me know. I do enjoy the times I get emails and comments. I will try to comment back.

Blessing and praying the Lord will take care of your needs and mega hugs,

Linda

Just what I needed.......a dose of the COUNTRY!

Good SONday morning sweet ladies!

Psalm 1: 1-6
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Yesterday morning I was able to spend most of the morning and part of the afternoon on the farm. For the last month my time  has been consumed by the coffeehouse. I leave in the dark and come home most days in the dark. There has been much to learn and to say it has been different.......that is an understatement! Change has never been easy for me......but I know that lots happens in change......for me a more dependency on the Lord happens! He has been my Rock through this last month! Your prayers have been a blessing....so thank you!

When we drove into the market to take Elizabeth, it was so foggy......... you could barely see in front of you. With the deer traveling we have had to be more careful and more cautions. We hit one about 2 weeks ago coming home....it got the front headlight.  That was not good!

When we came back from the coffeehouse yesterday the river was lit up! Every color you could imagine. Things like this are simple, but for me every season does something to my soul. It is in the details of creation that I really see my Father's work. It tells me He is there......all the time.....with things under His control.

Every color of yellow and red by the river....pure beauty!

Sweet man took me south of our place to our son Jarad's land. It was just as beautiful. There used to be Peace Creek flowing on his land until the state came and had to separate it from the main creek. Now it fills up only when we get some rain! Which for the last 4 years we have not been getting enough to keep the creek bed filled. The trees are huge on Jarad's land. I was enjoying the outside. Much needed time!

This tree is 50 ft. tall......a many of Stubbie children have played, road horses, had Momma's Day picnics.....hunts  and fished on this land. Generations of families......and more to come! A gift from our ancestors.

I continue to learn much at the coffeehouse. Sorrow comes through the doors.......women who are burying their Momma's who unexpectedly died.....and they stand in front of me numb. It is heavy stuff! You can't run from it. Or a Momma who buried her older son.....and she sat at one of my tables.......and wept with her friend.....then she turned to me and told me about one of our chairs. I will show you a pic when I have a chance to take it. She and her husband had the auction that I went to, to try to buy the old Ford truck.....I didn't realize she was the who had the auction. Remember the 16 chairs we bought from it? Well we wondered about this tiger oak chair and she told us it was a pulpit chair from a church. She liked that chair a lot. I told her to take it.......that we could put it in her car. If she doesn't take it I think I should put a bow on it for her CHRISTmas present. We sat and talked......she said the rose that I fixed up in a vase that someone else bought for them......well she took all the petals and dried them and put them in a jar. To remember her son......never knew the Lord would use my hands to comfort someone else and I would get to hear the story.  Again......I lean on my Savior......to help me so that the pain doesn't ingulf me. And then the Lord sends a little girl, who's name is Leah who comes through the front door of the coffeehouse....on a dead run to jump into my arms....and we talk about her day.  She has red curly hair......she is 5 and adorable. She makes the time fun when she is there....she eats my sandwiches...and a cinnamon roll frappe...she made the drink up and Tressa makes it for her! Another blessing is when......the college boys who need to study the Word.....come and sit at the table with all the chairs that we bought at the auction......and then my sweet man opens the Word of God and it pours out into these young men's souls....and they talk and talk!

The days are long and we have been strengthened by the Lord..........because that is what the Lord does......

but at the end of the day you are tired...and then you came home......and you open the mail box and there is a gift. I have had many from you precious ladies and every time one comes at the right time! I was beyond tired.......it was after 9 (at night) and the day had been long......I opened the box......well really I ripped the box open. Two adorable chicky towels. See the little henhouse at the top right? I have one of those that looks almost like it that isn't painted...(I love the little flower box on the outside).....a must.... I am going to paint it just like this. Sooooo Francine......one of our Prairie Flower Farmgirls......thank you so much for being used to love on me....it was a fun way to feel blessed before going to bed!

Blessings from the farm today and may the Lord bless your day with rest!!!!!!

God Bless you!

Linda

Help......just when we needed it!!!!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies!!!!!!

Took this pic today at the market......it was raining outside and love the way the rays from the lights inside came shining through!

It has been a whirlwind of a month for my sweet man, Tressa and myself. Putting in so so many hours and feel at times like life is falling apart. God is our refuge and help though it all and if it wasn't for Him.......well I would have fallen apart! We know without a shadow of a doubt that He has us right where we need to be. Sharing the love of Jesus! Who said it would be easy. Well......when things were getting to be wayyyyyy to much I was talking to my precious friend and Prairie Flower Girl, Jill Novak. Some may remember her from Remembrance Press and her magazine The Girlhood Home Companion.  Anyway we were talking and she said, "if ever you need help I am sure Elizabeth.........their daughter would love to come and do an internship!" When things got really hard and life felt like it was to much, I called. A week later we picked her up at the airport.....that was last SONday! I wanted to share, but time was just not there for me to even write! She put up a post today on her blog.......I thought it would be fun for you to see the Coffeehouse from her perspective. We love her and she fits just perfectly in the shop! She is lovin' it and we are lovin' having her! God knew just what we needed....we are all not so tired!

Hugs and God bless those who have been praying for us on this major adventure. More then we thought it would be......but again we are just holding on to every promise He has and cry out when we need help......wink.....which seems like every minute these days!

Jesus is so good......and He knows the plans He has for us!

I do so enjoy it when I am home on the farm......which hasn't been much and I miss. The Lord is letting me learn more about quiet and learning to rest in Him. I found one single egg last SONday morning......one of my Girls left it for me! Simple things mean a lot again in my life! Learning gratitude......learning never stops no matter how old you are.

Farm life.......calms my heart.......EVERY time!

Good SONday morning!!!!!!!! To the sweetest ladies!!!!!!

Went out this morning to care for my farm animals......look who was peeking her head out to greet the morning...made my heart smile. I am finding JOY in the little things....like a leaf that is nestled in the pine tree and the sun shining on it...looks like Autumn here on the farm....the wheat is coming up and we are sooooo grateful for the Lord's provisions, asking for protection. I know so many pray for our family.....I have a praise of thanks!!! Our Taylor wants to work part time as her sweet man finishes up his schooling. We prayed for a nanny job and the Lord gave her two little twin boys...the family had to move away and sow she was left without a job. We all prayed again.....she got a job...a tiny little boy.....6 weeks old...when she called she was ecstatic!!!!!!! He is my path!!! Love you and praying for your sweet families!

Hugs and God Bless YOU,

Linda

Some more pics

Hello sweet ladies,

I have wanted to send you some pic's on the inside of the coffeehouse.

The top picture is what I call the living room area. I wanted the kids to be able to sit where they felt like family. They love it and use it all the time! So do families.......it has served it's purpose and blesses me when I see family happening!!!!!!! Today we had a new Momma with a 6 week old and her girlfriend sitting together. Momma rocking her little one! LOVE IT!!!!!!! If you click the pic it will show pic's better. The second pic from the right is another sitting area. Families and kids eat here around the little coffee table!!!!! Love it. The pic on bottom left has chairs at the end of each bench and a chair at the end of the table now. We had a family that came to see their college daughter and stayed for hours playing a game. That was sweetness!!!!!!!!!! The bottom right has been used for ladies groups......kids studying, using their computers and families all around the table. The tables are located at the front of the coffeehouse right when people walk in. Everyone has told us the market looks homey......that is exactly what we want to hear!

I am off to bed.......so tired, but I have some more pic's I will get up tomorrow. Just wanted to show you around a little.

I love you all and thank you that you are following us on our adventure........it is that. Everyday the Lord shows why He has us there. Little dots on the i's!!!!!! Lots of opportunities......but one thing that has been happening is people are blessing us with their kindness!!!! Tonight the wife "owner" before us brought us dinner. Talk about kindness! She and I have become like sisters and the fact she was loving on us made me see how blessed I am. She is enjoying her time with her family cooking and such and shared with our family!

Blessings and God bless you......love hearing from you!

Broadway Market Coffeehouse.......is busy!

Hello sweet ladies!!!!!!!! It's me!

Oh my........my feet hurt, my legs hurt.......I feel like I can't sit and rest......except on SONdays! The coffeehouse is coming along and we are getting used to our new life. We get up early and go to bed late.......someone said we will get into the groove......I am hoping soon.....smile! It is hard work, but the blessings are many. The doors are swinging to the coffeehouse and we are meeting so many precious people daily. So many come to do Bible studies......I watch kids pray......it is precious to watch and I get to take them before Jesus myself! There is much "learning" to be learned on how to run the coffeehouse......we ARE getting it though. Just going to take time. Sometimes it is overwhelming so we just cry and pray.....big time. We are on our second week......oh my is it easier then the first week. The picture above is our little kitchen where we do our cooking.......I brought in my little prayer sign that I had at the college caf, when our family worked there. It is helping me keep my mind and heart focused on Jesus

A day starts with coming in and seeing what I need to prep for the sandwiches. I have a little top fridge that has all the products I need to make the Panni sandwiches. Every sandwich is delish!!!! The owner's sister before us created all the recipes for the sandwiches. Everyone in town would ask........"are you changing anything on the menu?" we knew they meant were the sandwiches changing. That is what the market is known for and we would love to have you ladies come and taste one and sit at our table!!!!!!

Thank you so for the prayers.......I miss my animals, but know that life will be less hectic soon and I will be on the farm more. We are hoping to use the farm for the college kids again as the weather gets cooler.

If you have any questions about the market.....please ask......I will be taking some pictures......I try and it gets busy......today I am on a mission! Want to do a video of what we have done.

Love you and will pray for you all as I am standing in my little kitchen. Your friendship is my blessing from the Lord!

Broadway Market Coffeehouse.......its very pretty....if I say so myself.

Hello sweet ladies.......this is the Broadway Market Coffeehouse that we have just taken over.

We opened last Monday and haven't stopped being busy. The Lord has been so faithful to get us through everyday! Long hours now, but so nice to meet so many interesting people. The other day 3 bikers came in from LONDON!!!!!! Can you believe that. We cooked off some sandwiches for them made up some drinks and off they went. All ages come to the coffeehouse.

We are learning so much about the business......tonight is the first time coming home in the daylight. Course it turned dark soon after, but it was nice to see that the soybeans had been cut. Thank you Jesus. Well, I just had to write.......more pictures later......but this is the front of the building. Big farm tables, lots of chairs and benches. The kids like it, Momma's with little ones have been sitting there......Bible studies are being done.

Tomorrow night we are having our first concert. I will take pictures and share.

Love and hugs......I am getting ready to go to sleep!

Would so love for you to come, if you live close......even if you don't.....come and see me!

Enjoyed Our Girl and Our Son In Love This Weekend

Hello sweets......lots has been going on at Prairie Flower Farm and I am sure the same is for you at your home. With the coffeehouse, canning until I am exhausted when evening comes.....so thankful for the produce!!!!! I will be using it come winter and thankful I worked hard in the summer.......smile.

The horses got out of the pasture last Saturday.......a deer jumped the fence and caught the electric wire and broke it. We had a baseball game where our Alumni boys were back to play agains the new team....so we had to get them back to the farm.

With our Taylor home we had to go round them up in the neighbors field before we could go to the game! I always dislike it when the horses are naughty!!!!!! We caught Koko, I held her as the others went to gather up the others. Our horses are usually pretty good about following one back to the farm......we are thankful!

It was good to have them home!!!!!!! The whole day was filled with being with our Taylor and Tyler. They were safe and sound!

Early the next morning before church we went up to the pasture and fixed the fence. It was beautiful outside and not hot. We enjoyed our time and Tay enjoyed riding her horse and check all around the fence. We are enjoying the cooler weather. The 1/2 mile walked was beautiful. We saw animal tracks which told us that we had a baby deer and Momma and coyotes! My sweet man has taught me much.

Today I will be painting chairs that I bought at an auction! I will show you when I get some of them painted! As I worked I will be listening to Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson and Ryan Dobson......as I work today!!!!!

Please keep praying for us about the coffeehouse! Thank you!

What do you have planned today? Would love to hear from you!!!!!

Hugs from the farm and praying Jesus will supply your needs,

Linda

Jaely And The Farm

Hello sweets,

we have been on a mini road trip.....visiting coffeehouses......and learning more about owning a shop! Right as we left the farm we stopped at a restaurant.....this was in the parking place......sweeeeet!!!!! My husband was talking to the owner.......he had had this truck since 1955 and it was adorable!!!!! Asked if he wanted to sell.......no was the answer! Don't blame him a bit......he said it was his baby! He was a cute little man, that had taken care of his truck.......in my dreams!

We have our car full of gift items.......and we are getting to see the mountains......and my heart is full!  We will be so busy when we open the shop and now was the time to go.

While we were gone we had our precious adopted family watch the farm........look who loves Birch! Jaely's Momma took this pic so we could see Jaely working. She thinks she owns the farm. She runs from one end of it to the other.......with a kitten hanging from one arm......adorableness!!!!! She loves the Big Girl chicken house!!!!!!! She loves gathering the eggs........loves all the baby chicks when their Momma's hatch a new baby!

They will soon have their own farm........I think she is going to love it. Just had to share these pic's, thought they turned out adorable!

I will share more pic's later.........love the mountains........it's as close to home as I can get......thankful! My girl is loving it.......want to go back home to Alaska some day! I need to start saving my pennies......well maybe more then pennies!

Hugs and God bless!

Linda
