My two precious Young Ladies!

Hello........... sweet ladies,

It is Saturday evening and the computer is WORKING tonight.....right now anyway............ so I thought I better hurry and get these pic's up for my grand daughters. They wanted me to put the pic's of them up on my blog. They had so much fun playing all day Friday with their dolls. One day they will love looking back on this day. I am thankful I was a part of it!

I trust that you will all have a wonderful SONday tomorrow.........I will. One more day and then we go back to the college kitchen. I sure feel rested......and I am thankful for the vacation...............have plans to make some CHRISTmas cookie bars for the kids at school. Only have to work for 2 weeks and then we are off again. I think I like this job! They said that we have accumulated some vacation time............are you kidding? When we had to farm.......you didn't get vacation time. Smile!

Sugar and Spice.......that is what little girls are made of!

Hello sweet ladies,
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

My son just came by the farm this morning. You know it doesn't matter how old they are, they are the one treasure that God has given us and they will always be ours. When the Lord says that children are a gift from HIM........that is exactly what He means. My son gave me a hug............makes a Momma's heart feel warm! I am so grateful that all my children live so close to me. I am thinking that it was very hard for my Momma when I moved so far away. Spent some time with her yesterday........she lives in a nursing home 10 minutes from our farm. She is so precious.........she can't say much, but that is okay.....I can read her eyes........she loves me! We took allllll the grandkids in to see her. She looked at each one........I wonder what she thinks. I think she thinks I am blessed..........I am. All we can do is love on her and I guess that makes a difference to the Lord.

Yesterday my little granddaughters wanted to use the camera to take pictures of themselves and their American Girl dolls. Of course I said yes.......then they came in and said, "Can you put them up on your blog? They love my blog, I am glad........one day when I am gone.......they will have all the memories recorded. I said, "Of Course"!

Okay. This isn't funny!!!!!!! I have tried soooooo many time to upload the pictures.........not! . This computer is just being sooooo slow......... and only one came up. I will post for the girls when the computer is working better.

I have alllllllll the recipes compiled! Now Tressy will put the pictures we received with some of the cookie recipes and we will get them into PDF form!!!!!!!! You will not believe the cookie recipes..........they are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Cookbook! You are going love it also....... I just know you will!!!!!!!!!

Hugs from my farm to your precious HOME!

My chickens are clucking and the roosters a cock-a-doodling. The turkey is gobbling and talking to all the wild ones in the fields.........and this farmgirl is content..........thank you Lord for HOME.

It Is My Favorite Time of the YEAR!

Hello...............,

Hope this finds you enjoying .......maybe......... some CHRISTmas music? Every year on Thanksgiving night we get to have allllll the grand children (the are ages 3-12) and also for the next day...... so their parents can either work on their HOMES or go shopping. It is so much fun for me because we get to bring in the CHRISTmas season together! This morning I made them pancakes while Poppa was reading to the boys this wonderful book for boys. It is called Created for Work by Bob Schultz........it is a wonderful tool for teaching young men to work. Poppa wants to encourage his grandsons to be men that will have a heart for work. Anyway right before the boys went out to work on their forts we had them pray. It seems to help a lot when they ask for help from the Lord. My heart skips a beat whenever I hear these young men pray.... straight from the heart........... tuckin memories in my heart!

Later on one of the grandsons came in and said , "Grammie you know how the book said that you need to think of others more then you think of yourself? Well we are working on a fort for the girls and we are putting as much effort in the girls fort as our fort." Blessed this Grammie big time. Love to give them opportunities to do good for the Lord.

Off to make lunch for them!!!! Hope your day is filled with much blessings!

Hugs from the farm to Home!

I Had To Share This With!

Our daughter Tressa was on Focus On The Family a minute ago. She found this FREE Download of The Legend of Squanto. It is a beautiful story of the faithfulness of the Lord's plan for America. We downloaded it so we will have it this evening when our grandchildren ..........come to our farm. Just had to share it with you! We have heard it before and it is wonderful! Great teaching tool..........so gather your
children.......grandchildren......Momma's and Daddy's....and ...Grand Parents together.

Hugs from the FARM!

May the Lord Bless You Today!

Good morning sweet ladies,

I am up early.........lots happening today..........but had to come and tell you that you are all such a blessing to me! I know I say that a lot.......but I do enjoy your precious friendship and I don't take it for granite. Now that I am not HOME 24/7, it has been hard to keep up with communicating with everyone. I do come and peek at your blogs........read, but can't always leave comments...... like I used to. It makes me sad......but this is a new season in my life. I had an anonymous person leave a comment some days back about my complaining about working outside the HOME and why didn't I quit working. ouch! I don't want to ever be a complainer..... whiner (on occasion) maybe, but not a complainer. Smile! I thought and thought and then I realized.......this is my personal journal......it is about the good and the hard.........it is okay to not like to work anywhere other than my HOME, if that is my heart. I love everything about being a Keeper At Home (everything).......but God has been so gracious to give our family a job together. It was at a time, if we didn't work outside we would loose everything we had worked for, for 38 years. It is hard to make a living today on a small farm. I love farming.......but those days are behind us..... as a full time occupation and if we are going to be able to keep the land we inherit.....we will have to work hard to keep it, but Praise the God of the universe that He heard our prayers to keep our family together as we had humbly asked. I have much to be thankful for this time we call Thanksgiving.........but it doesn't mean that my heart can't hurt because I want to be at HOME. I am learning contentment......but that is learned. Paul had to learn it when he was in prison. It is continuing to die to self.........and seeking Him together with my honey, as to what He wants to put in our life! Right now it is cooking for 650 young adults and some who need Jesus..........I know that the Lord has us right where we are........together........what a miracle that is in today's economy. I am sure you all have the same precious stories. God is in the business of weaving those tough times.....into our lives.......to make us depend on Him more..........that is where I am! One day I will see it all so clear in Heaven.........and ya know what? It really won't matter.........I will be with HIM.............and that is all that really matters. So thank you anonymous writer for making me think......I wish I could stay HOME......because that is best.......but I will think more on being content. We can always learn from others.

As I sit at our THANKSgiving table today.....and we bow our heads...........you will be on my lips, I will be telling my Jesus that I love you precious ladies and I will ask that He will make Himself known to you even more!

Tonight my house will be filled to the brim with 9 grandchildren...........you can't get better than that.............I will snuggle with them and tell them the Thanksgiving story........using my little Pilgrims and Indians.... and how God was with them......because it isn't about the Pilgrims and the Indians.......it's about the one who had a message for them to tell (and now HE is using us) .....so that we could share about God's Faithfullness........because it is ALL about HIM..........another memory!

If you would like our family favorites at Thanksgiving............click here.

Have a Wonderful SONday Today!

you are welcome to use this photo, if you would like.

Good Morning sweet friends,................fog is still on our farm...........it is really quite beautiful. It is so nice of the Lord to give us all the seasons here in Kansas.

Yesterday.....my Phil and I walked the farm.........it was a very crisp cool day...... but it felt good to be outside........not cooped up in a college kitchen with walls all around me. I think that is probably one of the hardest things for us............living on a farm working outside all the time has really changed since we work in a building now. So we take every opportunity to get out when we are HOME. We took care of the horses. Getting them ready for the winter. They are such beautiful animals. One has a "little one" in her tummy. It is fun to watch it grow. We can even see the baby move. It will be wonderful to have a "little horse" around the farm again. You can teach them so much, if you have them from the time of birth. The girls each have a horse that they have had since the beginning. They are such good friends. Kansas and Kiowa trust the girls.........it is so neat to watch them interact.

Those of you who have chickens...............if you have cold weather..........start giving them warm water instead of cold. It will help them with their laying. Also they need extra light at the end of the day. 14 to 15 hours of light is good. Make sure that their coop is clean to start of the winter and that it has lots of nice straw down. They will love you for it ............and they will continue to give you eggs...... even on Sundays!

Today we will be with family..............celebrating Tressa's birthday....... finally. It was the end of October..........life was so busy then.........it will be so nice to be with all the grandbabies and fam! We will attend church this morning with one of our son's family. Anticipating what the Lord will teach us. After we will go to the park we always go to with a creek near by.............enjoy your day I will be sure too.

May you know the presence of the Lord today..........I am praying!

Me
P.S. This morning one of our missionary friends, who keeps us in touch wrote this scripture in the Bagwido People's scripture translation. It was so precious to me that these people are getting their own Bible for the first time. Many in the village have come to CHRIST. He is to be Praised forever!

From one man he made every nation of men,

that they should inhabit the whole earth;

and he determined the times set for them and the exact places

where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him

and perhaps reach out for him and find him,

though he is not far from each one of us.

Acts 17:26-27

HE wants you to know that you are very loved.........by HIM!

Saturday........

It was so beautiful this morning...........I was at HOME and the fog covered the earth!

Hello Sweet Ladies,

This morning..........I woke up...........I was HOME.........and it felt so good. I didn't have to run around and get ready for the outside world...........and that felt even better. I looked out my window..........fog covered the earth............little glimmers of dew all around. I could stop and enjoy.........I am finding out that going outside the HOME has me always in a rush. Now with my internet back on I turned on Daily Audio Bible and listened.........it filled our HOME with theWord. It is nice for me to be surrounded by God's Word. Helps me stay on track. Then I listened to Christian Music......I am thankful that I can do that when I am in the cafeteria kitchen..........but it just seems better at my HOME! Anyone relate out there?

All the plants are dying............winter is coming soon!

The fog is so heavy!

Went outside to do chores. Everyone is happy that Momma (ME) is HOME. I started talking to the ducks........chickens.........and turkey............everyone was talking trying to tell how they missed me. I know that is exactly what they were trying to say.........it was so noisy though it was hard to make out everything! Smile. Then I started taking pictures............it was beauty...................I love morning with the fresh crisp air..........so good for the soul.

Today I will have two of my grandchildren with. Maclain will work along side his Poppa and Savannah will be with Grammie. I think we will do some embroidery lessons.......... in the between times....... I will help with the fence..........when I am needed. It will be a nice day!

Waiting for the sun to come out.............the fog is slowly burning away. Hope your day is a sweet one! I am so thankful that my internet is somewhat back. They still are working on the speed, but just being able to get on............makes this farm girl very happy!

Hugs and blessings from my FARM to YOUR HOME!

We Now Have Internet........Thank You Jesus!

Dear Sweet Ladies,

Now some of you know that we have been without internet at our home. Today was SEVEN DAYS! Now the question is.............what did I learn? I am sure I learned something.........but one thing I did learn was I never want to be without it again. It was like I didn't have contact with the most precious ladies ............called my friends.......... that means you all. I do have to say I did miss you all a lot. I was not able to work on the Winter All Year Long Quilt Pattern as far as getting things ready to be a PDF download or on the cookbook. Now I will work over time to get it out. My goal is before Thanksgiving. Please pray that there will be the time to do it!!!!! Thank you so much. When I got HOME this evening we have internet again. I am very thankful.

Well.......... what has been happening in your life? As you know I was able to get some fast posts up on my breaks at work, so I have heard from some of you. It was so hard to not be able to come over and visit you all. This week I will doing so though. We stared our vacation time from the College Kitchen today..........it was so fun to wake up and be at our HOME and watch the sun come up. Well, more than fun...........it was wonderful!!!!!!!!! I had to work on the fence later in the morning today with my honey.........but it was so nice to do some things around my HOME before we left. I automatically got up at 5:22 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I have so much I want to get done. I am cleaning cupboards and going to start putting up some of the tomatoes we picked a few weeks ago tomorrow. It will be nice to simmer the tomato soup stock and while that is simmering I will work on the pattern and cookbook. Now that sounds like fun to me!!!!!!

I have wanted to put this recipe I found last week up for you and just couldn't do it.........now I can! The other day at the college kitchen we had a lot of riccota that needed to be used. I thought that maybe if I looked on the internet I might find something that used it..........I did. They are now one of my very favorite muffins. You can't believe how moist they are! They are a little work.........but majorly worth it. They are called Strawberry Riccota Muffins. The recipe bakes the strawberries so they are kind of dried when you put them into the muffin batter. I love the taste! These would be wonderful food gifts to take to the where ever you are having Thanksgiving.

Hugs and blessings Sweet Ladies!!!!!!! You have been missed!
