Happy Father's Day Mr. Phil

"My special man"
I love this picture. We were able to go to Nevada this last spring to see my sister for her birthday and mine also. My niece and nephew blessed our family by buying tickets for us to come and surprise my sis for her birthday. My sis and brother-in-love are living on a horse ranch. It was surrounded by mountains and horses. I loved it! Well, so did my family. The girls enjoyed everything! They could ride horses anytime they wanted. Phil hadn't been on a horse for some time and was a natural. This picture was shot by our daughter. . It is one of my favorites now.

I do have a very special man. Phil got saved soon after we were married. I am so grateful to have the privilege to have lived with him for 36+ years. Can't believe that it has been that long. We have walked side by side in what ever the Lord put in our path. God has known what He has been doing to make our marriage strong. We have 5 precious children and 9 grand children.
Tonight we will honor him with a cookout. May he feel the love and gratitude that we all have for him. He has sought the Lord for our family and given his children a heritage. I am so thankful for the Dad that he has been to our children.
Psalms 127
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.

5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them...... Your quiver is full Mr. Phil. You are are a blessed man and so are we that God gave you to all of us!!!! Happy Father's Day. You are loved and will be loved forever! May our Heavenly Father continue to bless you and keep you safe!

My real daddy has been gone for a real long time. He is missed today. As I get older and realize the sacrifice that he did on my behalf as I was growing up I am so grateful. We lived in Alaska and we homesteaded 48 acres. It was hard in Alaska. My daddy did not know the Lord personally. I gave him a Bible and have it to this day. He never professed Christ. He lived a hard life and had a lot of sadness in it. I was able to be rescued from so much and he would love to come to my home now and see the husband that I have. Phil has given us such joy and happiness in our home. We have both worked hard to make it a priority to have a Godly home. Not perfect but always trying in the Lord's strength to do better.
Today I will honor my other dad. Mr. Leo Leach. He married my mom and has been very close to me. Poppa has a little house and lives close by. Being a wonderful grandfather to my children has not been hard for him. Poppa will be turning 80 this next Aug. Where has the time gone! Happy Father's Day Poppa! You are loved!
Blessings to all of you out there as you honor your father.
Blessings,
Linda

Life..Beautiful

It is out in the stores!!!!!

This magazine will be a feast for your eyes. Each page is wonderful. I have enjoyed life:beautiful from the first day I found it in the store last year.

Here is a picture of the cupcakes that you could make for your 4th of July table! There is not a recipe for the cupcakes, but a white cake, white frosting and raspberries and blueberries on the top would be easy enough to do. The cupcake holder is tooooo cute! Don't know where they got it, but I would like one.......

It is getting quite warm around the farm these days. Hail came and pelted my tomatoes the other night. It was a sad day yesterday going around the garden. We have had this happen before and the tomatoes made it through just fine. It is amazing what they can take. They were just laying down. Everything else looked okay. We are getting so excited for market. I have my first pink tomato. It should be red real soon.

The other day my husband walked out in the yard. He heard Lilly making her "sweet noises"(she talks allllll the time, to herself). He couldn't see where she was and started looking around. I had taken the flowers out of the crock to give them some water. Lilly had hopped up in my little wagon (given to me by my friend Vickie for my last birthday) and was under the two flags cooling off. She is just too fun.

I am working on the first apron and finishing up the pockets. It is turning out ssoooooooooo cute. I love the pattern and will post it soon. It's been a joy to get back into sewing. The time doesn't seem to be there with the garden and all. Gardening seems to be taking all my time.
I am off to go get some golden wheat straw. I can't wait to have it "lookin" so pretty around the plants. I lay newspaper down first and then the straw. I tuck the newspaper real close to the stem of the plant and then lay the straw. It kills the weeds and then we work it all into the ground in the fall. We are making the soil richer every year we do that!

Blessings,
Linda

Flag Day Sunday

I'm proud to be an AMERICAN!

It is late Saturday night, but I won't have time before church tomorrow to get this post up. I have been saving this picture for just the right time. This is my little grandson. I took this picture and then Tressa used picnik and changed it for me. We love using picnik. Even I can do it!

Is this the most precious picture? My little American Boy!

Happy Flag Day Everyone. May we continue to ask God for protection for our land.
Blessings,
Linda

Everyone It's FLAG DAY

Sunday is Flag Day. Let's all get out our flags and wave them high.
I just love the red, white and blue!!!!!!! We need to be praying for our President and leaders in Washington. Pray that they would make wise decisions for our country. Please pray for them daily. I am sure they would appreciate it.

I found a great treasure in the barn. An "old milk bucket." I filled it with one of my favorite flowers, Scarlet Red Verbena. I can't wait to find them at the garden nursery in the spring. I have to get some for the farm. It is really pretty to put in your garden. If you like color in your garden this is the flower. I also use the Blue Salvia a lot. The color will just jump out, from wherever you look.

This will really grow and spread. Sometimes it comes up for me again the next spring. It doesn't smell real good, but I use it a lot in my flower bouquets.
Here are my boxes. They are starting to fill out a little more!

I started my little cucumber seeds early this year and they already have little baby pickles on them. I am sooooooo excited to get my fridge full of dill pickles. I will give the recipe soon.

I put the nasturtiums by my cucumber plants. Getting seeds in by my squash and pumpkins. Trying it out this year. It is suppose to help with the bugs. If you do plant nasturtiums, nick the seed carefully. It helps it to germinate.

I have been waiting until last Feb. for this!!!!!!!!! Went out to my garden and found two Sweet Pea's had popped out just for meeeeee! I just love them. Kim, who entered our giveaway wrote the sweetest comment. I thought it would be helpful to those who are planting Sweet Peas. "I am enjoying your blog and am working on my garden too. My sweetpeas are blooming and we have blessed many friends with boquets. You know that to keep them blooming you must keep them cut so that they can not pod. Once they start to dry out and pod you will lose the whole bush. I will send you some seeds at the end of summer. A patient gave them to my Nana who is in her 80s MANY years ago. She worked for a doctor. They are an unusual color and I never see them in packets. They are the most fragrant I have smelled." Blessings! Kim I can't wait to see what her Sweet Peas are like. Thank you Kim for the wonderful garden hint. I did not know this! I will start to do this now.
Again thank you for stopping by. Please leave a comment about what is happening at your garden! I would love to have any helpful garden hints. I am always learning. I forgot, to tell you my tomatoes are doing great. That will be the next pictures..... I even have a little pumpkin. I love to decorate with pumpkins...... in the fall.

Blessings,
Linda
