It Was a Wonderful Day At The Farm Today!

Hello, I am sitting in front of a little coffee house in our little town. We are still without internet service. I guess the rain caused some problems. Sooooo had to come to the store to get some chicken and noodles............we are fighting some head colds and honey has just worn himself out I think. He could use some prayers please. We stayed home all day......... (we were going to go to the fencing site.....but Honey was not feeling well all day)and that felt so good to my soul! I cleaned bedding and hung it all up on the clothesline. I so enjoyed the simple act of hanging clothes today. I kept lifting my head to the heavens everytime I hung something. I really miss the simple things that I used to do so much when I stayed at HOME. I think I appreciate my farm life a lot more now the before! It was a beautiful day today.........but still real wet from our almost 3" much needed rain. We are so thankful to the LORD for His provisions. I also spent some time doing some fall cleaning. I felt like I got a lot done today.

Also last night one of our granddaughters stayed the night with us. We always fix Poppa a nice bed on the couch and she and I have a slumber party. She always turns the CHRISTmas lights on our log canopy bed and we read, pray and share lots of news. It is such a wonderful time........ building memories. I hope when she is a teenager she will still want to come to Grammies..........smile!

Don't know when we will get internet........but I will still check in with you all.

May the Lord bless your SONday! Know that I am thinking and praying for you all!

All In An Evening.........

Hellooooooo, What a fun evening we had. Bucking bales........giggly girls..........working hard........Momma driving truck...........sometimes to hard on the brakes......Mr. Honey and girls getting all the bales..........daughter running after little country mouse..........caught him or a her.........enjoyed watching him go to sleep..........probably scared it half to death..........rain is coming Thursday ........had to get them all picked up......tonight......finished at 8:00. Stood out in the field.......prayed together and thanked the Lord for His provisions. He is so good to us.........isn't He? The moon was beautiful. Wish I could take pictures so you can see.......maybe you saw the same thing. Drove up into the yard...........skunk..........to late! Couldn't find him. They are not good to chickens.

Thought you would like to see the Little Country Mouse.........I have always liked little mice.....the ones that live outside! Don't like them to share my house! Even if they try they don't get to stay here!

Told you I would get you the recipe for the Homemade Twix Bars. Tressa found this recipe on line. I had people coming back today saying............"Do you have any more of those Homemade Twix Bars? They loved them. So will you!

The other recipe I said I would write down was Lemon Dreams.........these are soooo Nummy!

Lemon Dreams
2 cups four
1 1/2 tea. baking powder
1/2 baking soda
1/2 tea. salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tea. finely shredded lemon peel.
Lemon Cream Frosting
1 cup lemon curd (recipe found here)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line twenty to twenty-four 2 1/2 inch muffin cups with paper bake cups or lightly coat with nonstick spray for baking; set aside. In a bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Gradually add sugar, beating until combined . Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to butter mixture, beating on low speed after each addition just until combined. Stir in lemon peel. Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
3. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted near the centers comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 5 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pans cool completely on wire racks.
4. Prepare Lemon Cream Frosting; set aside. Spoon lemon curd into a decorated bag fitted with a lard round or open star tip. Push tip into the top of each cupcake and force some of the lemon curd inside cake. Generously pipe or spread the frosting onto tops of cupcakes. If desired, cut lemon slices into quarters and place on top of cupcakes. Store in the refrigerator. Makes 20 t0 24 cupcakes.

Lemon Cream Frosting: In a mixing bowl, combine 5 ounces softened cream cheese, 1/3 cup softened butter, and 1/4 cup lemon curd. Beat with an electric mixer on med. to high speed until smooth. Gradually add 3 cups powdered sugar, beating well. Beat in 1 T. milk. Gradually beat in 3 cups more of powdered sugar and milk to get you spreading consistency.

This recipe was found in the new magazine I showed you called foodgifts. I found mine at WalMart and another at Lowes. I could not find anything on the internet to buy it there. It is so jammed packed with wonderful recipes and cute ways to make as gifts. It is a must have!!!!!!! I made the Lemon Dreams for the kids at the college. They were a hit! The little cake is really moist the lemon curd on the inside is wonderful and you will like the frosting if you like things lemony!

Well...... that was my evening.........what was yours like would love to hear.

Received some more CHRISTmas Cookies Recipes.......you ladies are going to love them. Keep sending them if you would like to be in the cookbook download!

Hugs my sweet friends!

Collecting Snowman Stuff!!!

Hello Sweet Ladies,

Every year we have what we call a Grammie and Poppa Snowman Camp ! If you go to my post you will find lots of ideas that I did for them last year. I always have to think in advance to get all the snowman items picked out so they are not all gone by January. So I grab them as soon as I see something from now until CHRISTmas. I found these straws and bags .............10....... just enough for our grandkids and the new little Russian boy coming to stay with our Son's family for the holidays. I thought that was kind of neat.......... because I bought them last week before we found out about Vitality (that is his name). I hope he can handle all the excitement around our farm with all the children!

One of the fun gifts I made for the grandchildren was Snowman Insulated Water Bottle Holders. They loved them. You wouldn't even need to have a party. You could just make these as a gift for a snow day. I have a tutorial for you....... if you go over to the Party post above. It is not hard to make and the kids love them. We always have our Camp during the Christmas break! Gives the parents a little time to be alone and Grammie and Poppa love having them!

Found the plate sets at Dollar Store. I will have them forever!

You have to have snowman pancakes!

Games and easy treats are a must.

If you are a Momma and need a fun party........here it is! If you are a Grammie and live far from your grandchildren SEND IT IN A BOX!

Just an idea for your Holiday Season!

Hope you can have a party.........the children just love it when we have ours.

Enjoy!

Blessings........tell me what you might have going on in getting ready for CHRISTmas!

Hugs, from our Farm to your HOME!

Hello Sweet Ladies,

Hello sweet ladies,
It is late on Sunday evening..........I had a wonderful day today..........went to middle son's families home. Saw "Little Girl"....... remember the little baby calf we saved? She is adorable.......growing and nursing on her Momma.......I told the Lord thank you......He helped us so much when she was so weak to eat........gave us ideas of what to do. It was wonderful to see her again. She is a little fatty now..........so glad she made it. It will help our two son's with their herd of 8 cows. They are just starting their ranch........I love it!

Also I have some very precious news. We found out last Friday that our middle son and his precious family are thinking of adopting a child from Russia. They go to a church that has a sponsor program that brings orphaned children from Russia to come to America and stay and hopefully find a home. We all prayed for them as to what the Lord would want for them to do and tonight they sent off papers to have a 12 year old boy come and stay for about a month. I am so excited. His name means "life giver"............I can't tell you how excited we are. When he arrives he will come with an empty suitcase.............our family will help get to fill it. I can't wait to show him the LOVE of JESUS...........I am praying for his little heart. God has planned this from the beginning of time. I am so thankful he put our family right in the middle of it. Our son and his wife need prayer as they will be making a decision as to what the Lord wants them to do. CHRISTmas will be special. We have friends that were missionaries to Russia. They will have a Bible and hopefully help us with some language lessons. The girls and I got on to Youtube..........OH my that was funny. I tried.......didn't sound so good. I will practice........everyday........until he gets here. I might be able to say hello! Heehee. Now I am a Grammie of 10. He wants to learn how to cook.......that will be my department! He also loves animals.......I can help with that also. We will have a very special time with this little guy! Please pray for our family, if you think about it. Pray for the finances for our son's family. It is terribly expensive to adopt. Like our son said, "God is in charge of the 0000's behind the amount. He owns it all. I believe our son knows HIS FATHER!

Hugs, and please don't forget to send your recipes....if you haven't already......I received sooooo many recipes the last two days. Thank you so much. I can't wait to get started!!!!!!!!!

Love you all, Me
