It's beginning to look like CHRISTmas

Hello sweet ladies, I am so excited.......snow is coming....at least they say it is and I am ready. The only thing I am not ready for is the icy part that they say might be coming also. That is not good. Prayers would be appreciated for everyone that is in the path of this storm please.

I wanted to share this recipe with you again.....for those who are following and are new. It is my very favorite bread to make at CHRISTmas time. Easy easy!!!!!! If you have a food processor use it.....it makes up easier! Here is the recipe!!!!!!

CHRISTmas Apple Fresh Cake Bread
3 cups chopped apples
2 c. sugar
1 cup corn oil
2 eggs
2 cups unbleached flour
2 tea. cinnamon
1 1/2 tea. soda
1/4 tea. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tea. vanilla

Chop apples peels and all in a food processor. Pour into a bowl and add sugar. Let stand at least a half an hour. In the mean time wash possessor and chop the nuts. After the apples have set their time, add to the food processor with all the other ingredients. Mix just long enough to wet all the ingredients. Don't over mix. Grease 7 mini loaf pans and fill with batter half full. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Tressa and I have been baking and decorating the farm and house......wrapping gifts and enjoying each other's company. I am so thankful to the Lord that He allowed me to have children when I was older. They are truly a gift!!!!!!! Miss my Taylor, but am so grateful to the Lord that she is in love with her sweet man! Another gift!

Last night the sky was lit up red!

Never get tired of a Kansas sky!!!!!!!

Today I continued on with my decorating.......love my Nativity~ it was a gift from my friend Alisha years ago and I will never tire of it.......ever!!!!!!! I love having things out that are the true meaning of CHRISTmas.

Do you have a favorite piece that you like to put out every year?

Please leave a comment. I know that it is a busy time of year, but just leave a few words....love to hear what others do at CHRISTmas time that is special to you!

Hugs to you all,
Linda

  3. Praying for you in the storms path. We have very cold weather and it was in the 60s yesterday. I would love snow for Christmas but I don't like driving in it. Your recipes are all so much fun! Thank you. I am happy I have my kids too. I would not trade any of them for anything! It feels good just to be home with them for the holidays! Love your sky shots! So pretty. Blessings to your beautiful phamily for the Christmas holidays! Love your nativity.Hugs, Anne

  6. Your sky pictures are so beautiful, as is your nativity set. I have a lovely wooden stable that my dad made, but the figures I have to go with it are not that pretty. Someday I hope to get some nicer ones. I put it out every year anyway!

We also have some vintage glass ornaments that belonged to my great aunt; lots of handmade ornaments and trims, rag garlands over some windows; a ribbon board with vintage Christmas cards. If you visit my Christmas blog sometime you can see a lot of my favorite things.

Tomorrow I need to accomplish some housework and finish up some handmade gifts. We have a big ice storm predicted for here, too.

  7. So glad you are getting some special time at home, to work on the things you love. I have a nativity set that I got in the early 70's at a floral shop I worked at. We will be married 45 yrs. tomorrow, so its almost that old. It has a place of honor on a table close to our tree. Making a few sweet treats tonite. Then later will share some of this. I pray your weather doesn't get too bad.
Also wanted to tell you Linda I got the Gooseberry Patch Cookbook " Hometown Harvest", looks like it has some really good recipes. Thanks so much!

  8. It's my daughter's birthday, Even though she's over 30, and still living with us, I made it special for her. Today we went to Dennys for breakfast since you get a free grand slam on your birthday. It's more enjoyable when there's someone to share the meal with and blessed that it was my day off so we could go together. Tonight I made this very delicious chocolate sheet cake, from scratch. When cake is baking you make the icing then pour it over the cake right out of the oven! Oh goodness! I tested it later and it was so good that I had to refrain myself from eating half the cake! HA! Megan was happy to have a nice chunk after she got off work. It was a stressful night as dishwasher quit at work(she's a dishwasher) so she washed dishes by hand for 2 hours. Sigh! God is good. Repairman came and replaced the fuse that was fried and put in a new plug as well! Love my daughter! Bread sounds yummy! Phil put up our tree tonight,it comes with lights already on it. It's fake but it's pretty. Decorate it some tomorrow. Praying you are all ok in the storm. Be safe and hugs!

I have3 nativity sets. Have 2 of them out. One is Fenton art glass John bought me a few years ago, and one is new this year, a larger set that can be used outside, but is indoors until I get stable built. Your apple bread sounds delish. I have made cranberry orange bread in the past. A favorite. Hugs dear friend ♡
