Good Morning,

You are welcome to use the photos's on your blog.
Just please say they are from Prairie Flower Farm.

Good Morning sweet ladies,

During the summer the food is plentiful on the farm. Gardens are filled with fruits and veggies. My sweetie friends Rosa and Marian said that their plum tree was loaded and I was welcome to have some. I jumped at the chance. I was daydreaming about plum farm pies, smoothies in the winter months and eating them right now. That is exactly what we have been doing. I can't believe the flavor they have. I had to take a picture for you, if you would like to use your are welcome. Love this scripture! Hide it in your heart, if it isn't already. Smile!

I so want to take refuge in Him. Some times my "me" gets in the way though. I don't like it that way, but it does happen, more than I like. Reminded.......... His mercy! Today Tressa and I were walking out by the horse fence. I was walking behind her going through weeds. I said, "I hate weeds, what are they for anyway"? She sweetly said, "Read Genesis". I said, "Oh yeah"!

Genesis 3: 17-19. 17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,'

"Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.

Oh my, that is a sad story? When you work on a farm you are fighting weeds all the time. Never.........ever can you get a way from them it seems, but one thing I know, working with weeds has taught me lots about sin. I don't want the weeds in my life. They are destructive, they choke out life and the pain that they cause is sometimes long lasting! As I have pulled huge weeds in my day, their roots can go out 2 and 3 feet from the stalk. Amazing!

Life with Jesus....... all the days of my life..... no more weeds........ that will be nice.

Until that day, I will keep pulling out those weeds that are in my life. I will continue to repent and be free.........

until the next time, there is another weed. I am so thankful the Lord is always there!

Taste and see that the Lord is Good...

I will take Refuge in HIM, it is good!

On a lite note............. look what we found.

The other day we saw a baby fawn, right on the side of the road. It kind of freaked us out, because it was just there so fast and moved so fast! It had its little spots and all. This is not the pic of it, but this is what our son found. Thought you would like to see. Isn't it beautiful. You get to see so much wildlife when you live and work on a farm. When you are working a field the hawks are right next to the tractor trying to find some food. You can get so close to them, because they are not afraid of the machinery. You couldn't get close at all if you were there in person.

If I could pick you flowers, I would pick you these! If you were close,

I would have them at your home today!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Oh, it looks like Bella is winning the name!

Welcome new followers!

I am going out to do chores and check

on the little ducks. So wish you could see them. They are so adorable!

Here I am again, one baby duck is gone. Humph! That makes me sad. The only thing it could be

is a snake. Stink! That is not nice, what ever it is that got it. We tore the little shelter apart

to see if it was under something. Nothing, poof, gone! Now this isn't starting my day off very

well. The flowers? They are for me also, we will share. Smile!

Don't forget to pray for Jeannie, she is going to the doctor today for her cancer check up!

We will be waiting to hear Jeannie!

Jeannie just commented, this what she said,

Praise God and thank you all for your prayers. There were no tumors in my bladder! I could definitely sense prayers being offered up for me this morning and I thought of y'all while I was in the dr's office. I give Him all the glory, I have been so blessed in this situation. I will pray the little duckling finds his way home. The fawn is beautiful. We have deer all over here, sometimes they stay and stare but usually they run off. They are such beautiful creatures. I would love to hold one like that. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and thoughts. Love, Jeannie

Thank you Father for your grace and mercy in this situation.

We rejoice with you Jeannie!

Just thought you would all like to know!

Blessings and hugs, from our farm to your home,

A Place Of Refuge...........And A Time To Grow!

A Bundle of LOVE!

Hello, Sweetie Ladies,

First off thank you for all the sweetness sent Taylors way!! She says, THANK YOU!
You truly blessed her and that makes this Momma happy!

Also, thank you for all the prayers on Grandpa's Truck. The Lord used you to bless us! Thank you so much! You are all so precious in His sight!

I know that I am a rich Momma and Grammie. Oh, I don't mean money. Some things in life you couldn't give enough money for. On sat. Mr. Puddle Duck's last egg hatched. I was gone at the sale, but when I came home she had hatched TEN BABY DUCKS, for me and you!

I was so happy, all but one hatched. There off away from her nest was a lone egg. When I went to get it, it was not a good egg. Isn't she so smart to have moved it from the nest and that she would have know to do that. If you live on a farm you will see how the Lord puts into each mother animal or bird the protection the parent will give to their young. It is truly amazing and for me to see that, I love my God even more. Mrs. Puddle Duck is surrounded by a safe place for her new babies. Mr. Phil and I used some straw bales and cow panels along the top, so everyone could still see the little ones growing. I will tell you that if you tried to get one of those babies from her now, she would tear your arm off. She is a mean Momma now and that is a good thing.

I just sit and watch and look with amazement of the care the Lord has for all that He has created. He has given us everything we need. Just as I care for this momma duck, how much more does He care for US! I would do everything in my power to protect my children and grandchildren. I wouldn't want anything to hurt them somehow with the planning from the Lord she is the same way. It is beautiful to watch. No matter how old I will get I will never tire to such goodness from the Lord.

PRECIOUSNESS!

Sometimes you will come up on the nest and there will be a little one basking in the sun! They don't look alive the way they are all sprawled out on the ground, but they are fine. Baby chicks do the same thing with their little legs all out. He just likes the" toastiness" ( I know that is not a word, but I like the sound of it) of the sun.

We had to put a rock into the granite bowl so they could hop out, because they are so tiny. Precious to watch. In the background the Poppa Duck was making a little bit of noise. He really doesn't like not having Mrs. Puddle Duck close to his side. He spends a lot of time by the outside of the enclosure. We are not sure what he would do about the babies. Never had this experience before.

Just as the Momma Duck has a place of refuge the same goes here on the farm for our grandkids. We have tried to provided an atmosphere for their parents and now them to learn, glean and savor farm life at it's best. God has provided us with a farm that has been loved and worked for five generations counting Mr. Phil and I. Six, if you count our kids and now Seven if you count our grandkids. They are working right along side us to make Grandpa Jack and Grandma Jo proud that all that they taught us is being handed down to the next generations. They taught what it was to work hard, to do a job to your best ability and look back and be pleased with what you have done. I would take that a step further, that we have only one to please and that is Jesus Christ alone. He is watching and He is the only one that really matters and if we do it for Him, He gets the Glory!

One day the 3 of our grandsons set out with their BB-guns, into what we would call our Kansas forests! Smile!

"Listen, my son, to your father's instruction
and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
They will be a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck."

Proverbs 1:8-9 NIV

They called me outside................ a few hours later. I was going to be blessed at what they had done!

The boys took me by the hand out west of the house..........

down the lane............

that pasts the.......

combine shed....... a little farther on down,

past the metal pile

(it has been there piling up for over 100 years).

Then we had to pass by the

two old metal ironing boards,

(hey, I never have seen these before)

We came to the cleared Refuge!

The had made a sign that said, Created by, Ian, Ethan and Camden!

Hmmm created by!
When I have my grand babies put into my arms for the very first time, I whisper into their ear,

God created the heavens and the earth, Genesis ! 1:1

I want them to KNOW, that the earth just didn't poof! It was created, just like this
place of refuge! It was created by some one, them!!!!!

They had found junk from the metal pile and decorated their fort. It was amazing. All the detail and work they had gone to, to make it their place.
I oooooed and awwwwwed.

They took me to each of their cleared out spaces,

that was called "their own".

Ian came back to the farm a few days later. He found Grandma Jo and Grandpa Jacks beat up mail box. We couldn't take it down from the end of the lane, because, well no reason I guess, sentimental? A cement truck did it for us. He creamed it out, so to speak. The company bought us a new one. Not as cool as Grandpa and Grandma's, but nice. Anyway Ian asked if they could use it. His Momma said, that it would be nice when the boys came out separately that they could leave notes. I am "thinkin" so will I, plus little treats!

Boy will I have fun with this mailbox, so will they.

Ian put his first note in for them to find.

Dear Cam, Ethan and Chan,
Did you see the mailbox on the tree branch?
I found it by the west oil tank. Today I found three
more chains, and nails. I have done other things too.

Sincerely,
Ian

A place of REFUGE.....

and a time to grow..........

in all the Lord has given you.

"I will love you as high as the sky"!
Your Grammie

Have a nice day sweet Ladies, I would love to here about the memories you are making with your precious children and grandchildren! ............Or just how your day is going!

Have a great day today!!!!!

If you see a picture you see, you may use. Just please put somewhere that it
is from Prairie Flower Farm, thanks bunches!

One more thing, this comment was left on my blog, lets keep her in our prayers!

Our God is an awesome God! Wow, what an amazing day He gave you in so many ways. Loved the little puppy too. Can I ask for a personal prayer from y'all? Tomorrow I have jury duty which isn't a big deal, but the day after I have a dr appointment for my cancer check and I really want to be able to make it. I know God is in control and already has all the details of jury duty and doctors worked out, but I thought I'd step out in faith and ask. If God can give you Grandpa's truck back surely He can give me a one day jury service. If He doesn't that's okay too.Thank you so much. Rejoicing with you,

You are being takin to the Throne Room OF GOD,
Jeannie!

Also, a praise from Michle. Remember her son Jason? We are praying for him because he has
cancer? Well she wrote us yesterday and said,

Jason is hanging in there, one of the tumors that they have been treating is now gone. So we are making progress. Please continue to pray for healing and that he will soon find work.

Tell Jason we are still praying and thanking the Lord for the tumor that is gone.

Sorry for the road he has to walk. He is a brave man!

Blessings from the farm, Linda

My Day At the Auction and Grandpa Jack's Red Truck!

Grandpa's Red Truck, in place ready to be auctioned off.

Yesterday morning came soooooo early to my brain. My body just did not want to get out of bed. Both Mr. Phil and I have have been so tired lately. Mr. Phil came in at 6 and tapped me on my toes and said it was time to get up. The day I have dreaded for along time was here. I gave the Lord my day and as we drove Mr. Phil asked the Lord for His help. It set the tone. I had a choice to rest in Him and and trust what the Lord had for us.

The auction was to start at 9:30. I wish every one of you could have come with. Wouldn't that have been a party! A herd of women, husbands, children, and grandchildren? Anyway, we were not able to get the red truck down to the the auction the night before. There was some complication for Mr. Phil in getting it started. He worked way into the night trying to no avail. As it turned out we had to tow it all the way down. We got to the auction a little after 7.

When we got there we drove the truck into the place they wanted it to be. Right at the entrance of the auction! The young man put the farm # on the truck. Now Grandpa Jack's truck was just a number. That was hard! We then went over to the trailer to get our auction number. It was #50. We were ready for the day!

Wonder how many times I have opened this door over the years. Smile

There was so much stuff, as I looked around the auction. Others were still bringing in some of their things. Everything you can imagine!!!!!!!!!! You can't believe how much fun it can be!!!!!

This antique mower was really neat.

This old ringer washer would have been fun with flowers in it. I new it would go high.

I have always liked little oil cans.

This little tractor went for over $200.

Before the auction started I went to look around at some of the things
I would want to bid on.

I went over to check on the picket fence. Still laying there (it wanted to go home with, I could just tell). I couldn’t wait to bid on it. I am really cheep when it comes to bidding though. I looked around a little bit more and found a potato fork and a really cool wooden handled cement shovel. I liked them both. Thought I would bid on those also, because we need a cement shovel for our other fencing job. Have I told you about that? That will be for another day. I ended up getting the potato fork and cement shovel. $3.00 each. Yes!!!

Anyway, I found an adorable kerosene heater. I wanted to bid on that, if it went low also. That was all I found. Lots and lots of men were coming as the small things were winding up, that meant maybe they wouldn’t want my girly stuff. I was ready when they started bidding. I ended up getting the kerosene heater for 7.00. I was soo excited. Isn’t it cute? I will use it in the potters shed when the weather gets nippy in the fall. We can cuddle around it.

The sale was going strong. The trucks and tractors would be later in the sale.

They had two sales going on at the same time. One on the North section and one on the South. We were at the north side because Mr. Phil was trying to see what some of the things were going for. We missed my picket fences. We were about 8 items to late. I couldn’t believe it. Stink, as Grandma Jo always said! I went up to a lady and asked her if she knew who bid on the picket fence? She said that no one wanted it so this one lady (who writes down the amounts of the items bid on) bought them, but really wanted the just the windmill part for her garden! She told me who the lady was and off I went! I asked the lady about the fence and she said, "Would you pay ONE DOLLAR for it"? Can you believe it? I was ecstatic. GOD was so merciful to me! Even if He hadn't worked it out He would still be merciful, right?

A young man brought a puppy, my grand daughter loved it.

So did my grandson.
My littlest grandson joined in and played for hours.

It came time to sell the truck. The first one for sale. I was praying that the Lord would let us buy it. Our middle son had called his Dad and said he would put up $200.oo, because at this time we could not afford it. It sold to us for $175.00.
It is ours!!!!!!!!

So, Grandpa Jack, we are asking Jesus to tell you, that it is here on your farm. A memory of you, who worked so hard to make this farm a place of refuge for those who will come behind us and those who are living now. We will leave a note in the glove compartment. A picture of you and a story about you,
in memory of you!
We love you, Grandpa Jack!

Love and hugs from the farm!

We Need A Name!!!!!!! AND WE HAVE ANOTHER SURPRISE!!!!!

Here is our little girl when she was born last month.
I kept wanting to get the vote up, but life has been unreal for
all of us. I always need my Tressa to help me; wish I knew how to do
all the computer stuff! Anyone else relate?

Hello Sweet Ladies,

We have all the names, that you all gave us and we are ready to vote. She is just adorable. Tried to get a pic tonight and she escaped. I will try this weekend. Momma cow is so good to the new little one. Baby cow really needs a name though! Along the side you will see all the names you came up with. You can vote once. I have a special name I have picked out, but I will see if you like the same one! We are letting you all decide! You came up with the sweetest names. The name with the most vote wins! Thank you for joining the fun. Please let your children vote also!

Blessings to you all and have a super day! I am doing better then yesterday. God is good, and your prayers were felt. We will be taking implements down to the auction, all day today. It is so hot and muggy here in Kansas!

I put a voting box up last night. However, for some reason it worked for some and not for others. A "Blogger" problem. If you voted last night or this morning please vote again. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience. I hope it works. Please tell me if it isn't working for you!

You can leave a comment, if that is easier.

So much has been going on, on the farm this morning. I am adding to the post on the baby calf.

MR. PUDDLE DUCK, (on the left side) HAS SOME VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!

HE IS A DADDY!!!!!!!!

The ducks on the right are from my birthday this year. Remember? They have grown and they are girls. I am going to have ducks running out of my ears!!!!!

Here is the new little one! Sweet as can be. Tiny for sure! Look at the size compared
to Mrs. Puddle Duck!

As I sat there shooting pic's, Mrs. Puddle Duck moved. It looked like another egg was hatching.
IT WAS HATCHING!!!!!!!!!! I tried to get a video, but the quality wasn't good.
The little one was making such a fuss inside the egg trying to get out. PRECIOUS!

Ladies,

"GOD IS TOTALLY AN AWESOME GOD"! And soooo GOOD TO HIS KIDS,
THAT WOULD MEAN US!

See the little tiny break in the egg? The new little duck is kind of sitting on it. Momma has had this pipe cleaner in her nest. I do not have any idea
where she found it, but she moves it all over. Cracks me up.

You can see the hole a little better in this pic. Look at the color of her wing. Beauty!

Then Mrs. Puddle Duck moved around on her nest............. and I saw............

THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER LITTLE ONE THAT HAD HATCHED!!!!!!!

He is the one in the front, on the right side. They blend into the nest and Momma. It is still all wet, but is so precious. I did get a video of this! You will love it. It turned out perfect and sooooooo get your little one, big ones, honey's, whoeversssssss (I know that is not a word, but I used it anyway) and take time to watch the video. I can't believe I captured such preciousness. Is that a word? My spell check didn't say it wasn't. I like that word.

Enjoy!!! Tell me what you think! This video is so sweet!

Another Baby Chick and Change!

You are welcome to use this photo on your blog.

Hello sweet ladies,

It has been a really tough day today. Hot!!!!! The weather was extremely hot and there has been so much to get done on the farm. We are taking equipment to an auction that will be this weekend. Change! I don't like it. Tonight my honey was cleaning out the old red truck that Grandpa Jack bought and drove all over the country side. I remember sitting with him when he was driving, he knew one speed, fast. He scared me half to death. He knew that field like the back of his hand. I can see him to this day in it. Cute little man with overalls and a farm hat on his head. Grandma Jo said every time he went to town he would have to put on his "good overalls". He put his billfold in the front top pocket, it was always bulging! Funny what you remember. The old red truck has just sat by the barn, it hasn't been driven for a long time. Their was some security just looking at it there and remembering Grandpa. Now it will be driven down the road to the sale and sold. Gone! I know it is just a little old old truck, but it belonged to Grandpa, who we worked along side for 30 plus years. It was his, not someone else's, not even mine, but it belongs on his farm. Life..... hard.......I will deal with it and the Lord will help me to get on the other side. Still hurts. This probably sounds all silly and probably is. I just don't like change, never have, never will, but that is life isn't it.

When I look at this little red truck, I think of a very special man in my life who has gone to be with the Lord. Who was the most precious farmer, besides my honey that I knew. This truck worked hard for Grandpa. This Sat. it will be sold, gone from Grandpa's farm. Doesn't seem right. Wish I had the money to buy it. I do have the memories though and for that I will be thankful..............

Well, now that I have boohooed through that. Today I went to go check Mrs. Puddle Duck. She did not disappoint me. I came around the corner and she had another baby chick this morning. Precious little thing! I took some pic's, had to share with! Love the farm life. Thought Mrs. Puddle Duck was so sweet with her baby chick.

The picture at the bottom right turned out I thought of Momma Puddle Ducks face.
She really is a pretty duck!

Enjoy the two videos. They turned out really fun! Love the one with the computer! The little chick was a hoot! Worth watching! In it I told my grandson to keep his hands down. Earlier the baby chick would sit on his hand. Didn't capture it on this video though.
Get your little ones around you to watch. They will love it!

The pic at the top of the post was taken with my Farmer Man, he makes sure that my life is
full of special things, like baby chicks! I am a grateful for the simple life!
