Lemon Cream Bar Recipe and A Little Party Going On!!!

Hello Sweet Ladies!!!!!!!!

Thank you to all who left comments!!!!!! So sweet of you and it made my time being home all the sweeter!!!!! Our day was truly amazing. We (the girls) did better then we thought. At first we were a little teary.......it is always a little bit hard when you would rather be home, but we heard the sermon yesterday.....and the Lord had made it clear to us...... that He was with us. When we got to the cafe we were going to smile! We have to dress kind of funny, but we were not going to complain. Our boss finally let us all be able to wear tees in the kitchen and only the jackets out in public. Thank you JESUS! God was so precious, I know He heard you all praying, in fact some of the prayers that were emailed to me and left on my post... I knew He had His hand on us by what you had specifically prayed!!!!!!!!! The other thing that happened was we were so busy that it made the day go so fast and before we knew it, it was time to leave for home!

I just have to say you are soooooo PRECIOUS! Thank you for loving my family so!

As many of you know we made Lemon Cream Bars at the bakery today (I put it up on fb on our break and said I would put it up if anyone would want it). It is one of the kids favorite recipes, so that was on the menu!!!!!

Lemon Cream Bars
1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
2/3 c. confectioners sugar
3/4 c. butter

12 ounce of cream cheese
1 1/2 c. of confectioners sugar

3 eggs
1 1/2 cup white sugar
3 T. unbleached flour
1/4 c. lemon juice (we use fresh squeezed)
1 T. lemon zest

1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting the top

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan using butter.

Combine the flour, 2/3 cup confectioners' sugar, and butter. Pat dough into prepared pan.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until slightly golden.

While the crust is baking, whisk together eggs, white sugar, flour and lemon juice until frothy. Set aside.

Cream the cream cheese and powdered sugar.

After the crust has cooled, spread cream cheese mixture over the top of crust. Pour lemon mixture over the top of the cream cheese mixture.

Return to the preheated oven for an additional 20 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Dust the top with powdered sugar. Makes 36.

We are also going to start making all the pizza dough. It was not hard at all and amazing to watch the dough rise. This picture does not look as big as it really was. It had 84 cups of flour.......so that gives you an idea. It just kept rising and rising! I enjoyed working with the dough. It started about 3' long when we put it on our work station. Thought you would like to see.

Okay..... on my fb I said I would have a little surprise tonight. It is just for some fun as I start serving again at the college.

As you know from my blog my sweet man and I have been picking Sandhill Plums everynight. They are so beautiful and big. It is so peaceful as we pick. Tons of birds are singing away in the cool of the evening. From the time I was little, picking any kind of berry is a favorite thing for me to do!!!!!! I also enjoy canning jams and jellies for CHRISTmas gifts. My kitchen is getting full of boxes that are just waiting for me to make up some jelly. I thought it would be fun to have a little party and one of you could win a 1/2 pint jar of Sandhill Plum Jelly. It really is the nummiest!

Okay, I haven't made it yet, but I will one of these nights and will fill this little jar full of beautiful red sandhill plum jelly for one who signs up.

PARTY WILL END AT NOON ON
THURSDAY August 16th,
that is my sweet Phil and my 38th anniversary!

I am praying it everyday over the young people, faculty,  kitchen, you and my family! You can join me.... if you would like!!!!!

You Are SO PRECIOUS in HIS SIGHT!

Good morning sweet ladies,

First I have to thank the Lord for the joy of being able to be home alllllll summer long. A gift, I know straight from the throne room or heaven. Why would He even bless our family so? I won't question, He just did and I am thankful beyond measure. I was able to get to know all of you precious women just a little bit better. It will change for me as I will not be able to visit as much through out the day as I will be gone.......but I will pray that God will design how He wants fb and my blog to work to continue to build a precious relationship between us all. I have so enjoyed getting to know each of you, to pray for your needs.......that will not change. It will just have to be after 2:30 in the afternoon.......smile! I love you precious ladies as if you were my next door neighbors! Please continue to email with your prayer requests. I will have more time to pray as I am working in the bakery at the college. Please lift my girls and myself up!

As you know today is the first day our family is going to be back in the cafeteria. Bittersweet to leave the farm, but after yesterday listening to the sermon, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that God has us at the college for a purpose and the purpose is to glorify Him. I have sought the Lord and asked Him to prepare my heart alll summer long for this day. Yesterday at church He did that loud and clear. The pastor that was visiting was talking about Joy. Oh, my I thought isn't this amazing. Just what the Stubbie girls needed to hear. We will go with smiles on our faces even wearing our silly hats, hot clothes, oh and I don't mean "neat" hot I mean warm hot.....and shoes. We have a huge God and He will bring us back home when He wants to. There are two young ladies that we met last week. They are there for us to love! WE are from two different worlds, but I have no doubt they need Jesus. It will be interesting to watch the Lord unfold this story. Pray we will be willing to be bold.......to come along side and bless and encourage them. Please keep us in prayer today! Know that I love you ladies......that you have become a part of my life for a reason and I give praise to the Lord for you!

Hugs from the farm,

Linda

Went To A Wedding Yesterday!

Trusting you will have a special SONday Sweet Ladies,

(images)

Our family was invited to a very precious wedding yesterday. It was very big. The colors were brown and yellow. Lots of huge sunflowers were all around. They live on a farmstead, just animals, and enjoy the sunflowers that are around Kansas. I remember the girls and I going to a tea at their home when all the girls were little, including theirs. As a gift as we left the tea we were given a long stemmed sunflower with a tag with scripture tied just under the sunflower. Sweet memory.......simple act of kindness, but it stuck with myself and my girls. The wedding was beautiful! When the Bride and Groom entered there was a little girl behind me that kept saying, "I want to go and see the Princess"! Made my heart smile! I was glad to witness this wedding, my sweet man and I held hands while scripture was read and mentally renewing our vows. We will be married 38 years this next week, Aug. 16! So thankful the Lord has been faithful, when we were not....smile. The scripture they chose to be read was
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is Himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,  so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.  For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,  because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”  This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 5:20-33
The Lord was invited to be present at the wedding by each of them and their families. If they follow the instruction of this verse, each of them, will enjoy their days together as man and wife. They made a covenant yesterday, a vow to love and cherish until they died. With Christ as their Head, they will not fail!

One day their will be a beautiful Wedding Feast.......those who have put their trust in what Christ has done at Calvary, will be invited. His shed blood was shed for our sins......this farmgirl is very thankful. He provided a way for Heaven!

Hugs to your day....... trusting you have a very restful day!

Fencing With Family!

Good morning sweet ladies,

Found Tressa........think she is fakin it! She was really not asleep......just taking a rest before we got started on the fence!

We have been trying to get the fence up, and down the lane at different times this summer. We got to the fence and noticed our work that we had done earlier was down.......deer had been there to undo all the hard work. That is just part of living on a farm it seems......do like seeing deer on the property though so you do what you have to do. They are so beautiful to see! Baby fawns are the sweetest!

This summer has been a tough one for farmers.......they say we have about 3....some say 10.....more years of this drought......not sure how they figure that out, but my trust is in the Lord and that is where it will stay! It has amazed me how He has provided miraculously for our needs. Our family has farmed for many years.....and if you put life down on paper it hasn't made sense. But when you walk in faith.....it makes all the sense in the world! It is good to walk with the Lord! It isn't that I haven't paniced......I have......but when He says that He won't leave us......that is exactly what He means.

I am always so curious at how the crop is looking. I am sorry this is not the best quality, but I love opening a soybean and see it's stages. See the baby beans. If we could get a better rain.....it would make all the difference for the crop! Please pray......thank you so much.
The soybeans look good and not so good in places. The fact that they are green.......growing little soybean pods......we just stay thankful!!!!!!!!!!

As we worked together you could hear different sounds of country.... the roosters crowing....... back at the farm......meadow lark singing in the tree row.......monarch butterfly flew on a soybean bush  to taste some nectar from the purple little soybean ......didn't have my camera ready......also saw a beautiful blue iridescent dragon fly.....(left camera in my backpack in the car.......sad I didn't have it with!

The wind came through to cool us off under the shade of a big trees. You can't believe what a welcome relief it was after standing under the hot sun for hours! Tressa left us to go fix dinner (lunch on the farm)......called and said it was ready......so were we! You are always hungry when you have been working hard!

Hope you enjoyed seeing what our farm day was like.....we will be going out again........this time I will not lay in the grass......when I got up to the house I had a tick crawling up my neck!!!!!!! I really really detest those things! They give me the creeps when they are on my body!

My Tressa put up a post with a mocha cake recipe that she made for our family last night......it is a must try! So good go here to her Walking In His Path if you would like to try.....you make it in a mug.

Hugs to your day!

Grammie and Poppa Camp starting at 7......can't wait!

Good morning.............sweetest ladies!

I only have a minute before I go and do the chores and then get ready to go to the bakery to bake for a catering today. Peace has just left my heart! sigh! Oh my we have been so blessed though to be able to have been on the farm working this summer! I give Him much praise for that. You can pray please for peace!  The hardest is the hurriedness that goes on, when having to leave the HOME so early and be gone. It will get calm as we settle into a routine. I will lean on the Lord big time and He will meet our needs! I have one blogger friend that has a 2 hour drive and back to where she goes to work. I have 12 minutes. I will give thanks!

After we get home at 6:30 all and I mean allllllll our sweet 10 grandchild will descend on the farm........there will be lots of joy and giggles! That will make the end of the day worth waiting for! The plan is to sleep outside! The God chatter will be priceless! The  parents will have a mini vacation.......smile! Grammie and Poppa will also! It really is a sweet time had by all when they come to camp. Have lots of things planned!

Yesterday had to go and check on my sweet Momma. She lives in a nursing home not far. She is having problems again......please pray that the extra fluid she is experiencing in her throat will go away. They are giving her meds.........it has always helped..trust that it will again.

Hugs to your day!!!!!!!!! Love you bunches.....and I mean it!

Have A Sweet SONday!!!!!!!!!

Dear sweet ladies,

Last night again it looked like we might get a lot of rain.......it did not happen. Just little sprinkles here and there falling on our arms......felt so refreshing. It was cool all day and it was refreshing to be able to be outside working without it being so hot. For me it I am wanting to keep a heart that is open......and allowing the Lord to put into it what He thinks best.

The sky was so beautiful! Clouds that looked like the ocean in the sky!

Anyway we have a precious girl from the college that has been living with us this last summer......she had left the farm to run into our small town. I was watering all the ducks and chickens not paying attention to the sky, but continuing to pray for rain. She got back home and was excited when she got out of her car and said, "Momma (that is what she calls me, sweetness to my ears), did you see the double rainbow? We have trees around our farm and I had not noticed. We ran down the lane.......you know me,
I always have my camera with, so I was ready.

I don't know if you can see in this picture, but there are two rainbows.  My "girl" and I were standing watching the Glory of the Lord before us. She doesn't see like I see my Father.......I gently talked.......trusting that the Holy Spirit was speaking to her precious heart.......how can she not see. My prayer has been that she will one day.......trusting her with HIM! I know she can't see because of the garden in the beginning of time.....satan came to deceive man and woman. I pray as I was giving my Father thanks...... she will one day do the same! I have grown to love her as my own. She is more loved by HIM!

The rainbow got brighter and brighter and it went from one end to the other! His Love never fails........I Corinthians 13:8 He is responsible for her......not me......and that frees me to just pray....and wait, watch and see!

I looked to the west.......He was not disappointing my soul.........it was like the sky was on fire with all shades of red and pink. He paints the best pictures!!!!!!!!!!

We did not get rain.......but He left me with a full heart that He had everything under control.

Earlier in the day we had our party drawing........the winners started writing me back.........I always get to hear from some how the Lord used a silly old party to bless them. They always give Him glory.......such a sweet thing that they know that He is in the details of life! No exception yesterday. I got permission to share.

Hi Linda!
I just wanted to tell you how absolutely providential this sweet pin keep is to me.
God is so good!
I set my sewing machine on an old towel to stabilize it on the table, and along the edge of the towel I have been storing the needles I use by just poking them into the top layer. Each needle has a different color thread that I can simply pick it up when needing to mend something quickly.
Anyway, lately I have grown to dislike the lack organization I have at my sewing table and was specifically looking for a better way to keep those needles neatly stored when I don't need them.

God knew exactly what and when I needed it...so blessed!

This is why I do parties, the Lord has given me a gift and it is to be shared! It makes ladies feel special, I love it when I get special things from my sweet man or girls. Because as I have said life can be hard.

Another sweet lady wrote. She said,

All I can say is the Lord was at work today for sure. I can't believe I won and also I came so close to not even entering as I never win anything! I guess you remember I am going thru radiation for breast cancer and have been so "down" today. I have had trouble with my back(BIG time Pain) since the end of May and going thru some shots for it right now but now the pain has been in my groin area and I am so worried that the cancer has spread after all this.

I would have not known.....but the Lord did. Please pray for "her". She lives in pain everyday.......without relief. Love the detail of God's Love! Had to share this with.....not just silly parties......I have lots of stories of how the gift came at just the right time!

Another prayer request came in.......please keep another PFFarmgirl in your prayers please!

Hi Linda,
I was just wondering if you would put me on your prayer list and I don't mind anyone else who would mind praying as well.  I just found out I have thickening of the endomentrial wall and after menopause this could be serious.  Could also not be.  So ,  I  am asking that my D&C  that is scheduled for th 31st but hopefully will get moved up to the 17th will come back ok, no cancer or precancerous cells.  I do not mind having a hysterectomy  but would rather not have it because they found something.  i am a bit scared and figure the more prayers the better...  hehe.  Thank you so much!  Bev

I am so thankful you all feeling like family!!!!!!!! It is a precious thing! Want you to know you are loved here!

If you need prayer please let us know....I will only put up requests if it is okay!

Today we will be having a little road trip.....with our girls..........all "three" of them .......before we go back to serve.......at the college...it will be a sweet afternoon!

Hugs to your SONday and may it be a day of rest!!!!!!!!!

Linda
