Hello sweet ladies,


I have been working most of the evening getting all the 55 ladies paired up who entered the SEED SWAP. Ladies from all over America and one sweet lady from France. It has been so wonderful going through all the emails. I will be emailing each one you tomorrow night. Can't wait!!!!!!!! 


I want to thank everyone who signed up. I had know idea how much fun this was going to be and the wonderful response we would have. I will give a few instructions on Thursday night, as to some things you might want to do. I am so excited that ladies will be encouraging one another! We need that.....I know I do. I think it will be wonderful to just take some time and have some JOY!  


If anyone else wants to sign up........... I will keep the sign up for the seed swap open until 7 my time in the morning. It will.......be......fun.

Hello sweet ladies,

Some of you have commented on my header. Thank you for the sweet words. My girl's Tress and Tay bought me these boots this last CHRISTmas, because I didn't have any. Isn't that the sweetest? I couldn't believe it when I opened my present............ PINK  BOOTS!!!!!!!! I just love them. I knew that when it got closer to spring I wanted to have Tressa help me get the picture that I wanted for my header! We went out into the Potter's Shed.....the sun was starting to go down and she just started shooting. I thought you might like to see a few of the other pic's we took. 

Last night I went to gather the eggs..........I couldn't believe it.......all the eggs were in one nester box. Now the girls have so many boxes to choose from and usually they do. I ran back into the house to get the camera. I took the picture that you can see. I thought those silly girls............ they must of laid an egg while the other girls were standing in line for the BOX. Well I was telling my friend later that night about the egg situation because it seemed so funny to me. My sweetie Mr. Phil was working on the computer and heard me talking...... he said, "I moved them all together, so they would be easier to gather. HEEHEE! I giggled sooooo hard!!!!!!! Silly me.........but I did enjoy my thoughts about my GIRLIES all waiting their turn to lay their egg!!!!!!!!!!!!  Hope this gives you a smile.

Hi!!!!!!! Sweet Ladies, 


It is 9:00 on Monday and we have 38 ladies signed up for the seed swap. That really blesses this farm girl's HEART! Think of it. We are going to be planting flowers all over the states and one lady from over seas so far that will be planting in France. How fun is that????? If you haven't signed up yet go HERE,  I will need to have your home address when you email me please. I will not share it with anyone other then the swap person. 


Thank you for all the sweetness you wrote to me today! Wish I could have visited everyone tonight but........I had a very very busy evening.  


Instead of putting up a new post today I am going to put up an older post. The reason is I received two orders for the Winter All Year Long Quilt Kit.........one order was for 11 and the other for 1.......talk about excited. 20% of anything ordered from my store goes towards Vitaliy's adoption! I have been cutting out fabric since I got HOME today. Love it! Fabric is one of my favorite things to work with! Soooooo I thought I would share something I did on seeds.......hope you enjoy. I will show how I start my tomato seeds.

It was so warm today and it was wonderful! I planted some tomatoes and basil. I thought I would show you what I did. Last year I did a lot more with my seeds (click and you can see). It will have to be a little more simple for me this year.

You will need: Potting Mix Soil (Miracle-Gro), a cup or tea cup, seeds, heating pad, cooling rack, plastic bag and a tag.

Planting seeds is so easy! You save a lot money and it is so enjoyable watching the little sprouts come up. Today we will do tomatoes. You will need a clean cup or tea cup, as my friend Gail uses. I chose a little granite ware cup. Make sure it is real clean. Potting Mix Miracle-Gro is found at a greenhouse near you. It is good to support an independent Greenhouse. It helps a family make a living!

Fill the cup with damp potting soil.

Sprinkle tomato seeds on top of the dirt and cover with soil 1/4" deep.

Slip cup into a plastic bag. I like to blow air into the bag and puff it up. I don't know if that helps, but it makes me feel better. smile! Tie it off at the top and put a little tag with the name of the plant and date that you planted it.

I made a new cover for my heating pad today. It needed some cheering up! I made a flannel covering. I like it a lot better now.

Place a little table by a south window. Put a cookie sheet on top of table, then a heating pad (set at med) on top of the cookie sheet. Place a cooling rack on top of the heating pad and if you are like me, you will check the little plants every day to see if they are up. I love it!!!! God's LIFE! After the tomato plants have 2 little leaves take a pencil and slide it down along the stem. Gently take the little plant out and transplant in a dixie cup that has been filled with potting spoil. Put on trays and put under grow lights. If you are interested in more information you can go to this post that I put up in 2009.

Send some seeds!

Good morning sweet ladies, 

Do you know that it makes a difference what we say? This weekend I received an adorable card (Mary Jane Farm card) with a 3 page letter in it and sunflower seeds and hibiscus seeds.......... (just for me) so I can start some seeds and think spring? It was from a lady that had been in Katrina's path. It ruined everything in their HOME. Here she had all this sadness happen and she thought of ME? I can't imagine the suffering the people went through.  She said she used to buy my jumper and doll patterns when we sold them. In every pattern I would write a letter.......thanking the ladies for buying our pattern and then also about what was happening on the farm. I had so many ladies that would stick a note in their orders saying the first thing they would do when they opened up the pattern was to read "their letter". Always tickled me that they would even like. The letter my friend wrote was so encouraging. I guess it made me think........what do I write. Encouraging things? It also made me think about the the things I say. I will be reflecting on that today. 

It is going to be 60 today.........can't wait!!!!!!! Will go to church this morning and then come home and look around my garden. It will be a good day! So much better then all the cold that we have been having!!!!!!!!! Still snow on the ground.........the sun will be out today............it won't be here for long.

Okay...........here is something I would like for you farm and city girls to do with.  Now only if you would like.......... please send me your address to my email (up at right hand corner at about me).  I will send an email to the chosen lady with your address. I will not give your address or email to anyone one else! In the email you send me put SPRING in the subject . All you will have to do is find a card...........or make one..........write a little note......and put a package of seeds in it (or use your own seeds you have harvested). I will take names until this Wednesday the 16th. On Thursday I will match you up with some sweet lady. Sound like fun? I can't wait to see what happens. It will get us all in the mood for spring........like that is real hard for any of us to do. I think it will be neat, because we will be encouraging one another!!!!!!  Now I am opening this up to anyone............ even overseas or Canada! If you would rather not have an overseas lady........let me know that in the email. Also you can take my blog picture (thinking about spring) and use it on your blog.....telling of my idea. Have it linked to this post. Okay.......lets see what happens. I really can't wait! I am soooooo totally excited about this one!!!! Can you tell? YOU will make a new friend!!!!!!!

Strawberry Snowflakes for Valentine

Good Morning sweet ladies,

I had to share this super easy recipe with you all. Our boss at work had us make up sweet boxes of these to sell to the students at school. Oh my they are soooooo nummy and sooooo easy!

You will need,

one bag semi-sweet chocolate

2 Tb. butter

1 Tb. whipping cream (opt) 

Wash and dry fresh strawberries.

Brick of good white chocolate

Make sure the strawberries are very dry, after they have been washed.

Melt  semi-sweet chocolate, cream, and butter in a saucepan on low heat. After it has melted dip the strawberry in 3/4th of the way. 

Set on parchment paper until it is has cooled a bit. 

Take the dipped chocolate strawberry and roll it into the white chocolate shavings. It looks just like snowflakes. Lay again on a clean piece of parchment...... until they have hardened.

I will be doing this for our family. I will set one finished large strawberry into a cellophane bag. Tie a ribbon with a Valentine tag. Simple and Sweet! Now if you try it be sure to let me know and see. You can't believe how good these are!!!!!

I have to explain yesterday's post. I said, 

"Tonight I received another donation and again......I lost it" 

I NEED TO explain THAT I DID NOT LOOSE IT.......I MEANT I CRIED! I am so overwhelmed with what is happening! 

My girlfriend said, "Linda that doesn't sound good". I guess it didn't! Sorry.....I didn't think about how I said it. I am being very very careful and recording every bit of money that is coming in and who is giving it. One day Vitaliy will see all the love that has been shown to him. I will be making a book of all the comments for him. Tonya his new Momma is going to make a baby book. What a fun thing to do for Vitaliy. 

Here is Amber and Vitaliy in the green.........that was almost a year ago!!!!! Wow!

Okay, now for some "sweet news". Remember the girl (Amber) I told you about in the last post? How their family adopted their son from the same orphanage as our Vitaliy? We are now in touch with each other.  The precious thing is that she and my Tonya (Vitaliy's new Momma) talked yesterday on the phone. 

Now other than Jesus how can you explain this? Two ladies who don't even know each other.......and God uses to little orphans to bring them together! One lives in the middle of Kansas and the other on the east coast. Amazing! One day my prayer is that their son and our Vitaliy can meet again. Nothing is to big for my God. He showed us that the other day. 


He is definitely leading us step by step!

It Is LATE.........Just A Note!

Hello Sweet Ladies...........it is late. We were able to go to our grandson's play called Oliver Twist tonight. They did an amazing job. It was put on by 5th and 6th graders.


It is a little late, but I just had to tell you what a precious thing has happened to us in the last few days. I received a note from a Momma that adopted their son in the Ukraine.........long story short it was from the same place our Vitaliy is from. The most incredible things was SHE HAD A PICTURE OF OUR VITALIY when they were there to pick up their son. Can you believe it? She emailed me this and said............


God is so awesome in allowing me to see how this precious boy's life is being led by God into a good Christian family.  Praise the Lord!   


 She is so right!!!!!!!!! You know how I talk about how God is in the details? Well here He is again showing us all this. Amazing!!!!!!! I just love my Lord so much. He is so personal with His children.........I praise Him for His wonderful works! 


I will give more info as I talk to her tomorrow. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. It will be hard to sleep tonight! 


Also........ to all of you who donated yesterday and today. Thank you so much. I have written each of you back, so I hope the email will come back to you! You are so precious! Tonight I received another donation and again......I lost it (I NEED TO SAY HERE THAT I DID NOT LOOSE IT.......I MEANT I CRIED! The Lord is using you all to really bless our family and we are sooooooo grateful! To those of you who can't give it is fine..........I love you also. Just pray for V's protection........we really need your prayers most of all! 


I must close this............. because morning is going to hit me real fast! I love you all and can't wait to tell you more about Vitaliy! I want to share this one more thing.........


Our daughter Tressa spent the night with our son's family last night........ so she would not have to drive in the snow early this morning. Our grandson Reid (3) wanted to sleep in the front room with Tress. She went to turn off the lights and Reid said, I want  to go to my Mommy and Daddy". Then she said, "well I will be really scared without you and he said, "Jesus will be with you!"You will be fine." Now that is truth!!!!! He is only 3!
