I Have Three, That Are Ripe!!!!!!!!!

You can't see the third one, but there are three! Now there are none! We ate them and they were delicious!

Good Morning, I am kind of in a hurry so here goes. We got in way late last night. We were at the property of the family that needs a new fence for their horses. It is sooooooo beautiful on their place and it was nice and cool last night Not hardly a bug and no ticks so far today that I didn't find any sleeping with me this morning! Now remember yesterday? Tick, sour milk (not on purpose), my girls are to sweet to do that to me. Anyway, it got a little worse through out the day. Corn on my lap and down the front of my legs and on my feet, spilled onions and green peppers from our party, on the floor! Then as we were leaving the job site, doesn't that sound professional? We were leaving slow and came to the main highway and Phil said, "We didn't have brakes!" Semi right in front of us! Scared me to death, well almost to death. We were so thankful that there was no one coming from the South. We turned off on the ditch to the North. Now I have to tell you, all afternoon I felt like there was something not right. I knew the girls were going to have to drive about 40 miles to their older brother's place to babysit the grandkids, so I really had them covered in prayer. In fact, I called my sister Shannon and my girlfriend Mary to please pray, because the day just felt weird. I also kept asking the Lord for protection for my whole family. Is He not faithful? I know that sometimes He still allows things to happen, but I had asked and had to thank Him so much for our protection!!!! I wanted to thank you also. I know a lot who read my blog don't always comment, but I know that you have said that you pray. Thank you so much. Today is a new day and I am asking for a little brake, don't ya think?

Thought you might like to see what is new on the farm. The girls found this nest the other day. Momma Guinea had been off and on it for days.
Now she is getting down to business! She is in the nest backwards, so I can't show you her face. Well, it isn't that much to look at anyway! They are very ugly birds, but they do have wonderful feathers! She has about 20 eggs, oh my! I will take them to the Yoder Auction or find others to buy them! I have three and they are always making so much noise. I like peace! I needed to get some straw for the chickens nest boxes, so off to the coop I went.
When I got there I noticed that my little girl needs a new ribbon and paint job, don't you think? Her little door is not doing so well either. A little wire will help. She greets me when I go to feed the girls and guys. My Mr. Phil gave this to me for a birthday present. I love it! Alot!

She hangs on the wall. I love her also!

I stuffed the boxes with straw. When I come back tonight they will be nice little round patted down holes where they will lay their eggs. They make them perfect, so I just let them do it. I will try to remember to take a pic tomorrow for you so you can see. Just another one of those God things you get to see on the farm.

Walked by my cone flowers. Not quite in full bloom yet, but they will be!
They needed a drink of water. It is going to be very hot today!

Checked on Mrs. Momma Puddle Duck . For some reason Mr. Rooster stays close by her. Alllllll the time. Really amazing, not sure why? Maybe he is just protecting her.

Enjoy your summer day. I will. I will be with my favorite man, in the whole world. Yesterday, Mr. Phil talked to me about all kinds of things. It was all very interesting, but maybe not things I would like to talk about. I was reminded by the Lord that Mr. Phil needs me to be his helper. Kind of cool, I thought. He was talking guy stuff, like fencing and posts, and gates and lumber and all kinds of things. I listened. I looked at his brown sun tan face and thought he is mine, forever. I think I am in love! It is a good thing! I will carry a bucket for him today. I will ask the Lord to help me think of ways to encourage him. We will get to enjoy each others company, I know a lot of women can't do that! When I was newly married, I wanted to do my thing. Then the Lord put Mr Phil and I in a box (I call it that) and we had to learn what it was to build a relationship and a home. I didn't like to go with him. Now I do. We are one, the Bible says. I don't want to miss what the Lord has for me to learn from my man. He is wise. He teaches me things about the Word and explains it to me. The Bible talks about the man washing his wife with the word of God. It is good!

If I get bored I will play tic tac toe. Heehee, I don't think I will get bored though.

Love you bunches and hugs from the farm,

Leave me a comment please, when I get home and can see that you have been here. Tell me about your day! I truly would love to hear about it!

Just a little note, my Tressa just started a blog! Please go see her, if you have a minute.
She is so excited! She loves the Lord so!!!!!!!!!

Ticks, and Sour Milk In Your Cereal! How Is Your Day Going?

Over the years I have taught my children and now my grandchildren to say "Good morning Jesus!" In the morning, that would be one of the things I would saying and they just followed. Now I say, Good Morning...... and they chime in with "Good Morning Jesus", it sounds like a little melody when they say it. Music to my ears! I have trained myself to speak to the Lord as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. I had to work at it though, it didn't come naturally for me. I want the same for my children and my grandbabies. My hearts desire is that they will glean some from me, before I leave this world. I want to be about Jesus. This song is one of my favorites. I enjoy listening to Fernado Ortega. He helps usher me before my God many times when I listen to his voice. Hope you enjoy!

Give Me Jesus

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise

In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world,

But give me Jesus

When I am alone

When I am alone

When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world

But give me Jesus

When I come to die

When I come to die

When I come to die, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,

You can have all this world,

You can have all this world,

You can have all this world,

But give me Jesus

This morning I went out again to see what was happening in the garden. I thought I would show you what I looked like from the waist down. My sweet friend Mary, gave me this beautiful cotton nightgown with blue flowers and a ruffle on the bottom. It makes me feel like a princess! Honest! I bring it out in the summer, because it is so cool. Not cool, I mean like in light (I am reading this a day later, I know the word is lite, not sure what I was thinking, but that happens to me often with words) and cool. You know what I am trying to say, smile.

This morning the dew was very heavy. My feet were all wet by the time I left the garden. See the little droplets of dew on my tomato plants. I wish I could have captured the way it really looked. The sun was coming up and it was sparkling all over the garden. Absolutely gorgeous!

As I walked through the garden I saw where my precious girls had lined paper and straw along side our onions. My girls are real sweeties and help their momma so much! I am so grateful that they have hearts to serve. We really do have a special relationship and I don't take it for granted. I was not the nicest young lady to my momma when I was growing up. I didn't have the Lord in control of my life and for that I am so sorry. I put her through a lot. Oh to live those days over. I would love her more.

Did you know that the garden can teach you a lot? Use it as your teaching your children and grandchildren. One lesson is the weeds! See these little weeds and elm trees next to the onions? If I don't get them out of there they could look like this.................
.................... in no time. It makes me think about sin, I know people don't maybe talk about it very much, but it doesn't mean it isn't there. It is in me! I come by it naturally, the Bible says. Everyday, sometimes more times then I would like!!!!!!!! It might not be really bad sin in my eyes, I might think, but it is still sin for me. How about the times when my answer is not sweet and kind or when my attitude is that of being stubborn and wanting my own way and not thinking of the needs of others. I sometimes don't even recognize it in myself until I read His word. Then it jumps out and I have to do something about it. Repent! Awwww. That is the life. When it is all forgiven and I can start a fresh and new. Then I start seeing fruit in my life that is pleasing to those around me and God! Makes your day wouldn't you say? Makes us a blessing to be around. That is what I want in my life. I dooooooo notttttt do it perfectly, that is why Jesus came, the one that is perfect. He will help me in my day! That makes me happy! I don't have to do it on my own. I have HIM!

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:16,17

I am going to think on this verse today. Going to carry it in my pocket and read it through out the day! It will help me when I am living it out in real life. Making my decisions of who I should strive to be.

A little Craft Idea from the farm!
Garden Vase

Gather wire, wire cutter, brown flower tape and a little bottle of some sort.

Cut wire and wrap with brown flower tape.

Wrap wire around the neck of the bottle.
Tie a little tag with scripture verse with words of love.
Tie it on with a simple ribbon.

Fill vase with water, put sweet flowers inside and find a special place to hang it outside, so when you walk by you will see it. Make sure you hang some down low for the little ones in your life. Simple and sweet! Maybe you could make one up as a gift for a friend that is in need of a little sunshine!

This little Garden Vase is for every one of you to share!

Have a good day!
I am not sure with the way mine is going so far.
I am scratching and itching all over! I just found a tick in my head! YUCK! I truly HATE TICKS! They make me feel crawly! I am having to work out in a huge field that has thousands of them and I think that they will all want me today. It gives me the creeps that I slept with it. Just plain nasty, if you ask me. Why do we have to have bugs?

Then to top the morning off, my sweet darling daughter fixed me rice krispies with strawberries and sour milk. Smile! She didn't mean to. The taste is still in my mouth. Hmmmmm you all can pray for me that the day will get a little better! Smile

Love and hugs from the farm!

It's A Good Day!

Good Morning sweet ladies, I was able to go out this morning and walk around the farm (in my nightie of course). It was nice just to see what has been going on since we have been so busy with harvest. I took some pictures so you could see that it has been quite busy.

Yesterday was the first day of Summer, did you know that? Wow the time is going by so fast.

Anyway, I have a little news from the farm.

Mrs. Puddle Duck is going to be a mommy, I guess she is a mommy, she has little life growing in each little egg! Hmmmm, that makes my heart smile! This time she is serious! Look at the feathers! She was so busy picking up sticks around the farm during harvest and I didn't even notice she was building her nest. The wheat truck was whizzing by her all the time and no one even saw her. She built her nest right by the little Milk House.

Notice the feathers that she pulled out all around her? Now, I am not sure if she only has duck eggs or maybe a few chicken eggs also. Mrs. Americana can't go and lay in the Milk House anymore. She keeps trying to get Miss Red off her nest, every time! That is so not nice and so she has to stay out. I had to put Little Miss Fluff in a cage also, because she wanted Miss Red's nest too. Soooo Miss Americana has been laying her eggs on the steps. Haven't seen any, lately, so I think she might have been sharing Mrs. Puddle Ducks nest. I'll see if there is an egg today on the step. They have shared a nest off and on. It will be a surprise. Mrs. Puddle Duck is not moving this time! She puffs all up, if you get close to her, she is going to be mean I think. She started hissing at Taylor. It is so neat how the Lord puts inside each animal how to protect their young! Good thing! He is so good. She is all protected and hidden where she built her nest. She is a smart Momma!

Look who came to visit uninvited!!!!!!!!!! I went over to go check on the tomato plants. Here is another tomato worm, he took advantage of harvest time. I didn't have a chance to check the garden, because we were all so busy. He got big. Kind of neat 'big" guy, but dangerous to a tomato plant!

Took a pic of some of the tomatoes. They may not look big from the picture, but they are huge!!!!!! Salsa is just down the road. Just a little bit more time is all these tomatoes need. I can wait.

Went over to check the Moon and Stars watermelon plants. So cute! See the little stars? They make me smile every time I go to the patch!

Coming back to the house I passed my coneflowers. They are not all in bloom yet, but they will be soon. I put a whole row next to the south side of the Milk House. They are getting fuller and fuller each year, as they are spreading nicely! I like! If you were here I would pick you a bouquet. Really wish I could for real! Do you have a favorite flower?

Well, I am off with my honey. Work, work, it's never done! Smile. I am taking some "stitchin" with me. The group I am in called the Dozen Quilters have been sending me the blocks I requested for my month. I am taking a Grandmother's Flower Garden flower and quilting it to a 8" square. I will be designing a quilt pattern when I get all the blocks done. I use the hexagon papers that I sell along the side bar. It is so easy and they make perfect little fabric hexagons. I am so hooked on this project! Take them everywhere I go! I can't ever sit doing nothing! What do you do when you sit? Any little hand work going on? I would love to hear!

You have a wonderful day today! The Lord made it and He said it is good! I believe Him!

I have a special prayer request. ONe of my special blog friend followers has a son who needs prayer. His name is Jason and he has soft cell sarcoma. He is discouraged and so is his Momma. It is so hard to see someone suffer in pain like this. Please ask the Lord to build up Jason's faith. He needs strength to fight this battle. My heart goes out to this family. They need the body of Christ to stand in and do battle for them at the Throne Room of the Lord. I don't always understand prayer at times, but I know it is what the Lord has asked us to do. So lets do it together! Thank you so much! Jason's Momma, Michle could use a lot of prayer also. She has been so faithful to her son as she sits and has to watch him suffer. I love her heart, so does Jesus!

There will be suffering down here, but there will be a day, when all of those who want life in Christ, will have noooooo more suffering ever again. I am thankful!

One more thing, yesterday I got my email reply, that
Little Cabin In the Woods had a new post. I laughed so hard, I could hardly read the post. It was good for my soul.
You must go. Everyone needs a really good laugh sometimes! She will not disappoint you! I still am trying to figure out what "her man" is looking like these days! Heehee

Love you all, hugs from the farm!

Another Harvest Finished!

Good morning precious ladies!
Our son is getting ready to dump a load of wheat into the wheat truck.

Grain coming out of the unloading auger. I got this at the end, when it was coming out. Usually it is really pouring out of there. Really pretty.
Here is the wheat going into the wheat truck. There was a lot of cheat grass this year. The co-op said that a lot of farmers had problems with it.
There have been a many a children over the years in this same wheat truck. Very special memories!

Wheat harvest is over! I want to thank each and every one of you that took the time to encourage and pray for our family during this time. When it was late at night I would read them to Mr. Phil and the girls. It was such a source of blessing! It really strengthened us and we are so very grateful for you all! Some of you prayed for the weather and breakdowns, it didn’t rain and we had very few breakdowns. We are so thankful for you that you would pray! The yield was not good and there were lots of reasons for that. This last several years have been very difficult ones for our family, but lots has been learned! The Lord has been our focal point and we have tried so hard to not loose our focus of what is really important in our life down here on earth. Due to the loss of both our Dad’s, trying to keep two farms going has about worn us out. As some of you know the other farm was sold a few years ago and soon the farm we live on will be ours. We have worked so hard for the last 30 plus years and after Grandma Jo died we kept Grampa busy on the farm. We always told him we would help him farm (he couldn’t keep the machinery running or do different things, so Mr. Phil did that for him) as long as his health permitted. He was a sweet little farm man! He had the cutest smile and our daughters who came later in our life absolutely adored their Grandpa Jack! Then life changed for him and us and we had to be on call 24/7. Life really changed, but helping him live in his farmhouse was so important to us and to him. It gave him purpose, but he would say to me as he sat in front of the big picture window on his door watching all the farmers drive by, “I wish I could farm again Linda.” He had done it all of his life and it was gone. Just thinking about it brings back a flood of memories and tears. I wonder if Jesus is telling Grandpa Jack and Grandma Jo that we are still keeping the farm going? If He is I know Grandpa Jack is pleased that Mr. Phil and his family are still pouring their lives in the land to make the best of it. Oh sweet memories of yesterday and life being lived out today! Farming is a hard life, but sweet living! Last night it was 10:45 when we took in the last wheat truck to town. My precious honey by my side. We spend time praying for different things when we drive or just talk sweet nothings. The night was cool and the windows were down and you could here all the animals and birds a chirpin and talkin. The moon was out shining on all the cut wheat fields. Beauty again given to us by our creator. A good reminder to keep our focus on Jesus, the one that willllllll light the way to our path. I don’t have to ever worry about what he will have for us in this next chapter of our life. It is His business and I can rest in that. Do I worry? Yes, but I don’t have to. Yesterday I was listening to a sermon. The pastor was saying that God has His eyes on each one of us. Thinking about that.................. He has “HIS EYES” on me, my family my fiends, my blogger friends who have shared the hurts, their sicknesses and their real needs. What a comfort that gives me. I hope it gives you the comfort needed for your time of need.

Our youngest daughter Taylor is the best little cook. She is so helpful during harvest baking and keeping everyone fed. A must for harvest, is Grandma Jo's Snickerdoodles. It just wouldn't be harvest without them

This is the best recipe. Enjoy!

Grandma Jo's Snickerdoodles
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups unbleached flour
2 tea cream of tartar
1 tea baking soda
1/4 tea. salt
2 Tb. sugar
2 tea. ground cinnamon
Heat over to 400 degrees. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening and eggs. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Mix 2 Tb. sugar and cinnamon: roll balls in mixture to coat. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until set, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from the cookie sheet. About 6 dozens.

When you fix these cookies and eat them, remember to thank the Lord for the farmers. They are real families, that work long hours to help put food on the worlds tables. It is sad, because our government is making it harder and harder for us little people. Just pray! Thank you so very much for encouraging us!

A Real Hot Day Today! Bringing In The Wheat.

Our girls love babies. With older brothers they have seen 9 nieces and nephews come into our family. Tressa's friend Micah, (her blog is called Unfading Beauty,) captured this pic at the graduation party. Love it! You can see part of Tressa's purity ring on her hand. A heart and a key which means she wants to save herself and her heart for marriage. Pray for her, that she can keep her promise to her Father on earth and her Father in Heaven. She so wants to do that. She has her family, close friends and sister to help her. This is a new chapter of her life. She wants to go out strong in the LORD!

Hello Sweet Ladies!

It is soooooooooo hot at Prairie Flower Farm! Please pray for my honey and son's, they are working in over 100 degree weather. Our youngest just got stung by a wasp and it got him in the knee. He was hurting when we left him in the field. Ouch. Our middle son got stung last Friday just above his eyelid. It really really hurts! Not a fun way to start the day! We as a family have always kept Sunday for the Lord, even in harvest. Hitting it real hard today!

I woke up this morning and my sweet man left me a comment ON MY BLOG!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!! Yesterday I surprised him with a post and he wrote back. I thought I would put up HIS comment for fun. I am so thankful we love each other. We started out not so good, but we sure are ending our married life by staying close to Jesus! It does help!

As our little 3 year old grandson said to me the other day. "He is a good man", I so agree Reid, I so agree!

Mr. Phil said...

What a pleasant surprise, thank you. Look what God has done for us. Just look at those beautiful children. As I told my grand children today; they, along with my children, are my most precious father's day gifts.

Psalm 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to [a] those he loves.
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Psalm 128

A song of ascents.

1 Blessed are all who fear the LORD,
who walk in his ways.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your sons will be like olive shoots
around your table.
4 Thus is the man blessed
who fears the LORD.
5 May the LORD bless you from Zion
all the days of your life;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem,
6 and may you live to see your children's children.
Peace be upon Israel.

Praise God, that he revolutionized our lives with His Truth.

Love you , my Pretty Prairie Flower,
Mr. Phil

When we moved from Alaska to Kansas, Mr. Phil called me his pretty prairie flower. It has always made me feel special. Does your honey have any pet names for you? I would love to hear them.

Today is such a busy day with harvest. I will be back to tell about the party, but not today. It was wonderful. The Lord, family and friends blessed her so. They prayed over her and I cried like a baby. No surprise! We had Kansas wind and that wasn't so fun, but we made it! It did help keep the bugs away. I think they all were blown to Missouri.

Please continue to pray. Leave a comment, because it would be fun for me! Smile!

I am so grateful for you all!
