A Winner and Autumn Lights Garland Tutorial

Good Morning sweet ladies,

We have a winner, but we don't have an email addy. The name we drew from Random.org was.......

 Nancy M.

She said,
We've gotten some rain here in southern Missouri and are so thankful. The jam sounds great -- I've never had that combination before.

Yahoo for Nancy M. ........you will have to email me! My email addy is up at the top right hand side along my side bar here on my blog.

I have to say.... every time I have a party and ask for a comment...... I get to know you all a little bit better. So do all of the rest of you ladies. I never dreamed that PFF would facilitate such sweetness among all of us! It is a precious thing and very precious to the Father.......I am sure!

Yesterday was a craftin' day for me..."ALL DAY LONG"......out in the Potter's Shed.......horses on one side and Willow on the other.......she would baa all day long as I would talk with her. I have to say it was one of my favorite days in a long time. The weather was beautiful. Not hot and just a light breeze. The morning doves were cooing as I did my work. I have a Momma and a Daddy that have been staying on the farm this whole summer. The sound is beautiful! I kept finding my self doing little shouts of praise to the Lord......it was my communion time with Him. Our girls were gone, my sweet man was working on papers in the house......so it was just me and the Lord. I was getting to do what I truly love.......designing......with a plan......to get the Potter's Shed for service. I kept hearing the Lord....all day......."don't just use this place of refuge for your friends"......."use it for those you don't know." I have a young couple at work, He has laid them on my heart......they don't know the Lord........I will be cooking for them.....asking the Lord to work that out! I have been praying......please pray with!

I enjoy lighting a candle whenever I am craft working. I thought....."I can just take it outside"......it needed a little simple decoration.

I started gathering my supplies......on my long farmhouse table......... that I keep in the Potter's Shed......it is old.....I like it a lot!!!!! I started organizing.......

.....the silk flowers, berry picks.....leaves.....and some of my bittersweet.........fall colored fabrics......and some ribbon.

100 mini CHRISTmas lights........

and brown floral tape.

I started first by wrapping the brown floral tape around the Christmas lights. This was going to make the lights have a branch look.

I was working away and my sweet Momma Willow was baaing behind the Potter's Shed wall. Music to this farmgirl's ears!!!!!!! I climbed up in the trough and this what I saw........had to take a pic. She knows her name! I love her! Just sayin'.

After I wrapped the CHRISTmas lights I took a leaf (at Hobby Lobby I found a candle holder with leaves that I liked a lot) and attached it to the lights by tying 1/4" brown check  ribbon into a small bow. Simple! I did that on each 10th light.

On the other lights I tied  1" wide ripped fabrics. It would be pretty to do lots of fabrics in between each of the lights also, but with my time constraints I couldn't. It was looking very colorful.......I liked what I had seen in my mind!!!!! God the Master Designer shares!

I put the lights up along the wall's edge. For some reason there has always been this aged chicken wire on the boards along the whole wall. I have liked it and will never take it down....it has a story.....I just don't know what it is....and I would love to! The lights look so pretty against it, don't you think? I started adding some bittersweet and sticking it into the chicken wire. It added just the right touch! I will also be adding chicken feathers......just haven't done it yet. I will show when I do!

Hope you enjoyed the

Prairie Flower Farm
Autumn Lights Garland Tutorial.

It was a sweet day for sure........there was only one thing missing.........

"All of YOU"

What a precious day that would be!

If you make one be sure to let me know......and it would be so nice if you emailed me a picture. Wink!

I got to thinking maybe some might need some homespun fabric. If I had a kit of ripped fabric's......and chicken feathers..... would anyone be interested? Just let me know by emailing me......put in the subject line fall fabrics feathers. It would be about $5.00, $1.75 shipping. Sorry on the shipping.......it has become so expensive! Paypal, check or money order.

May the God of the Universe who knit you in your Momma's womb.........touch your life this SONday. May He be ever so real in your LIFE as you go out and serve Him!

I am not old! Heehee! I needed to pick up some 100% tea towels and ended up finding these! Aren't  they beautiful? They were under $5. I will use matching crochet thead and crochet a scallop on them. Sweeeeetttness!

God for my day! I will also be getting it ready for some sweet company. A Momma and Daddy with their 5 children. He is a pastor.......they always need some extra encouragement don't they?

I will also be fixing up my little wagon also........ it is on it's last leg, but it doesn't matter.......I like it a lot!  You see it when you drive up the lane to our farm! Wish you all were driving up it today........some day.......hope very soon that will happen.
A Prairie Flower Farmgirl Party in the Real!

We had so many ladies sign up for the Peach and Strawberry Jam party.......that it will take me a bit longer to add everyones name. When I open it up so ladies who don't have a blog (which I love including EVERYONE) can enter,  it takes me some time to add each email to the list! Sooooooo I will do that after noon and then let you know when I get it done.

Hugs to your day.......I'll be working on a tutorial today......I hope it turns out as pretty as what is in my head! Can't wait to show you!

I love you sweet ladies.........but not as much as Jesus loves you......that is a good thing to have the Savior love YOU!

It Is Raining!!!!! Thanking Jesus!

Good evening sweet ladies,

I don't have much time tonight. I had my granddaughter Ellie spend the night on Wednesday night and she came to the college all day today. It was so fun for her to get to do that. She enjoyed herself also! When we all got home tonight there was chores to get done, because there was a storm that was coming in. I worked on getting all the chickens watered......outside.....then I went to check on the babies on my side porch. I looked in my little bird cage and the two, one day olds were out and on the floor........together. Eckkk! I scooped them up and put them back into their little birdcage. My fault!

Then I went out to the Potter's Shed, to work on the wreath that needed some new bittersweet put on it. I have some more work to do to it. Need to buy some pretty ribbon to make a bow for it.  I like how it is looking.  It is on the door to the Potter's Shed......it will be so pretty to greet the families we have during the fall.

The sky was looking beautiful and the clouds were building up. I took this picture to show you our Kansas Mountains. Every time I see them do this.....I wonder if today will be the day He comes back for us! What a precious day that will be.

I also took this pic for Ellie of Denali and Juneau (his Momma).  I am not sure what happened to the pic, but Ellie and I like! He is getting so big. He loves it when she comes to see him.

Well........one more day! Love my weekends......have lots planned.

Thank you so for the comments you leave.....they mean a lot to me.....especially when I am at the bakery. Brightens my day for sure!

Remember only one more day and I will be picking a sweet lady to win the Peach Strawberry Jam! If you haven't singed up yet please go HERE to sign up! I will draw a name on Saturday at noon!

Hugs to your day.....know that you are precious in His sight....and mine!

Recipe For Whole Wheat Buttermilk Rolls and the Peach Strawberry Jam

Hello sweet ladies,

Thank you to all who took the time to come and sign up for the Peach Strawberry Jam. I enjoyed reading all the comments. You are all so precious!

This evening our middle son's family came out to the farm. Tonya, my daughter in love, Ellie my granddaughter and myself went out to the garden and gathered veggies for their family. We picked a big bag full!!  Very grateful that we have had produce this year during the hard drought.

Earlier in the day I pinned these rolls. I used to have these little jars, but after moving I am not sure where they are. I will be buying some this weekend, so I will have them on hand for entertaining. This is soooo cute!

Before our family came...... I took this recipe and made it into a loaf of bread. It would be easier to feed the whole family with  a slice and some Peach Strawberry Jam on top. Everyone thought the bread and jam was a winner.

If you would like the recipe for the bread here it is. Whole Wheat Buttermilk Rolls I did not add the rosemary for the bread I made today, but I will try it when I make it into little rolls. I also didn't use just whole wheat but I used half unbleached flour and half fresh ground whole wheat from our farm this last summer. That is always special for me to use wheat from the field.

The recipe for the Peach Strawberry Jam is found Here. It is really so good and so easy to make. If you ever have any questions and I can help, please let me know.

If you haven't signed up for the Peach Strawberry Jam Party please do so Here, if you would like.

Blessings to your day....may the Lord make Himself real in your daily walk.

Hope You Are Enjoying Your Day!!!!!!!

Hi sweet ladies............

My sweet man and I are working at the college today. The girls get to be at the lake!!!!! Yahoo for them. We are so glad their summer is ending with "SPECIAL TREAT"! I am alone in the bakery.....enjoying my time. Baked nummy scones this morning with fresh strawberries. About 5 kids came in. That's okay...it was peaceful and quiet. Put on CHRISTian music and enjoyed my time!

Yesterday I did some pinning on Pinterest to my Chicken Coop Board. Click on chicken coop board and it will take you to my pins. I enjoyed just relaxing and resting a little in the afternoon. I love to day dream about the farm and what I would like here to fix it up. Here are a few of my ideas!

The front of the big girls coop looks like this in shape! It doesn't have windows or flower boxes.......also love the kind of scallop on the roof. SWEETNESS! Thought a wreath between the little window and top of the door or on the door would be neat also. Changing it with the Seasons. Yup, I like......a lot!

This pic looked like a party.... if you ask me! I bought 6 new buffs at the Yoder Auction this year. They are getting ready to move into the big coop with the Big Girls! First my sweet man has to butcher a few roosters that are in the big coop!

I also found this.......now this looks like it would be so easy to make.....right?! It would keep the coop warm on the cooler months. Now I need to find some pop cans.

Look what I found for a waterer! Thought it was so innovative! Bet it doesn't cost much......well hope it doesn't, I would like to try and make one.

This one was the cutest........I thought. I don't know what kind of candy this is for the comb and feet. Anyone have any ideas.

Well, hope all are enjoying their day!!!!!!!!

Hugs to your day!

Linda

Such A Busy Last Week! Have a Blessed SONday!

Good Morning sweet ladies,

Did you know that you are our Father's cup of JOY? You are! He created you to have fellowship with. What a precious thought! Yesterday morning I listened to Mark Driscoll, while canning........I enjoyed as he talked about the body of Christ....the Church. It was interesting to hear and then think about what is happening here on Prairie Flower Farm. Lots of fellowship for sure. Prayer needs being prayed for and that to me is huge. Please continue to leave comments or emails if you have a need. Ladies here will pray or if it is personal leave an email and then I will.

What a last week! I was not able to post since last Wed. night. As soon as I got home I had so many things to do........and before I knew it......it was time to go to bed! I did miss posting though!

Last week two new baby chicks were welcomed to Prairie Flower Farm.......makes the week real special when that happens.

Yesterday morning I went down to the milk house to let the "Girlies and Roosters out. Went to lift Missy Red and here was another little one......just hatched.

A few hours later baby was all fluffed up! It was a warm day yesterday, so it was along the side of Momma sitting close by. Probably to hot underneath her. My little grandson Reid was out to the farm and wanted to go down and check on the new baby. Asked him if he would like to name it. He said, "Grammie", silly boy........the name will be "Grammie"!

Thursday night I used some of the bittersweet I picked and fixed up my willow wreath that is on the milk house.......thought it turned out so pretty! This afternoon I will be decorating some more. Finally was able to buy some more CHRISTmas lights to decorate the Potter's Shed. I will be getting it ready for entertaining. Talked with a young family at the college last Friday. They have 5 kids from age 2 1/2 to 17 and they come in ever so often to eat in the caf at lunch time. They are coming to the FARM! Can't wait!!!!!! I will have the Potter's Shed ready! The girls and I will have fun decorating the table!

Over the summer we have bought 4 boxes of peaches.......a special for the girls and I is to have peaches and cream for a snack! The last two boxes we bought last week are Colorado Peaches........they are our favorites. They are very very juicy.

I started early in the morning and made up 5 more pints of Sandhill Plum Jelly. Put them up on the shelf for CHRISTmas gifts. Then I started working on one of my boxes of peaches.......

I don't have my summer kitchen yet, but that didn't stop my sweet man. He moved the stove from the garage over by the house right by my kitchen window. Then I could keep an eye on the water bath canner. No chance of rain in the forcast, so it will be fine. I was able to get 10 quarts of sliced peaches. I usually cut them in half, but my peaches were so big that I had to cut them in slices. They are going in my cellar for the winter months.

I ended the day by going out to my garden to pick some basil.

We always put pesto up each fall and freeze. It is so easy to make, then we put the pesto in little baggies (twist the bag so all the air comes out) and then put bags into in a freezer bag. That way if we are making pasta or pizza all we have to do is take out a single bag. Works great!

Pesto
2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
2 cloves garlic
2/3 c.  virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and ground black pepper, to taste
1/2 c. parmesan cheese

Combine basil, garlic, cheese and oil into a food processor pulse until coarsely chopped.

Pesto takes about 5 minutes to make. It is soooo easy!!!!!!

Well as you see it was a busy week and weekend. Today after church I will make up Strawberry and Peach Jam. Heard it was delicious. I will let you know!

May Jesus Christ..........touch your life today......and let you know He cares so much for you and yours!!!!! A love that is beyond what we can ever imagine!!!!! He says that He will never leave us.......thankful!

Hugs to your SONday!
