Want To See My Banties? They Are Growing

Hello sweet ladies,

Tonight we got rain...........like maybe a 1/2" talk about thankful!!!!!!!!! It smelled wonderful, felt wonderful and sounded like a sound I love to hear, just haven't heard it very much this year!

Little kittens were running inside on the back porch as soon as we opened the door to see the rain. The girls brought them in the kitchen to dry them off. One really took to Dakota our daughter's dog. It is so tiny.

Thought I would take some pictures for you of my little banties that I got earlier this summer. They are getting so cute! Love em!! Do any of you have any? They always seem so friendly.

Here is the Momma and Daddy Black Mottled Cochin. I have one more Momma. She didn't want her pic taken. The momma's seem to the sweetest!

Here is the White Cochin Daddy and Momma.....I do have another Momma.......hard to get them to all stay together for a picture.

This little girl is called a Frizzle Red Cochin........I have 3 Mommas, so need to try and get a Daddy next time. They are the cutest! Their feathers go everywhere!

Here is the Blue Cochin. I have 3 Momma's on them also. Real pretty blue! I will order another few and try to get a Daddy next time. My goal is to sell them in the summer at the Yoder Poultry Auction, well not them, when they have some babies.

Everytime I opened the door to the little Milk Barn the little banties all come a running around my feet. They are so sweet and friendly. I can't wait until they are old enough to start sitting on their eggs!!!!!!! Do any of you remember Little Red and Little Miss Fluff they were the best setting girls.........they even hatched soe duck eggs for me. Spring will be fun next year.

My granddaughter took this pic, told her I would show you. Thought it turned out so beautiful. It is an old old implement that was from our other farm........we moved it over to the family farm. It really is kind of neat. An old rake of some sort........I think........I will ask my sweet man! Just asked him........yep.......it is a hay rake.

One more day to work at the kitchen and then I will be home.........have so many things I want to do!!!!!!! So what are you doing today?

Since it rained I am putting this up on Thursday night.......you know what happens on stormy times here to my internet service.

Hugs to you all sweet ladies!!!!!!!!! May the Lord bless your day!

The Girls Are Back!

Hello Sweet Ladies,

This was a pic from last year for the bachlorette party. Some of the girls are coming out to the  farm tonight!!!!!!!

Just got HOME from the college!!!!!! So nice to get out of our  uniforms and take off those silly hats! The girls and I get so hot in them. Please pray that our boss will do something about them, like let us throw them away!!!!!!! We will obey until he says we can do something different with cheerful hearts!!!!!!

Thank you so......... for those who have signed up for the Building Our Homes Together and those who left comments and emails.........you are so SWEET!!!!!  Had such a busy day.........but the Lord blessed.........more of my sweet girls are back for school and I was able to see some of them today. They asked if they could come out to the farm tonight to work with the horses. How can you say no to that? They are such precious gifts from the Lord

The girls bonded with the horses! Sweet to watch.

I was glad the horses did well............the right pic is Ballor helping Tay (our daughter) with her barrel riding! Sorry I didn't get a pic of Tay and KayRay (her horse). They both did fantastic!!!!!!!

We were all sitting on the telephone poles watching Tay barrel race.......couldn't resist this pic! Everyone of these feet love Jesus and walk with HIM! One of the girls that we didn't know real well said, "can I be one of your friends? Yep she can!!!!!!! She is officially adopted! Told her she was a daughter!

"God please use us, for Your Glory!!!!!!!" Amen!

Please pray for our legs and feet. Ouch!!!!!!!! We walk at least 5000 steps a day. Last night I had cramps in my toes.........isn't that the strangest? Never have I ever had that before.  Someone said potassium. Will eat a potato tonight. Found out it has more then a banana. Didn't know that.

Only God could do this!!!!!!!!! He blessed us when a whole lot of people were praying for the drought.

I have wanted to share this since last weekend, but the week got a little crazy. It was  last Sunday night, my honey and I were out walking the farm. He started working on a fence, so I thought I would just go and check out the soybeans. They seemed to be really growing and getting quite green since we had the two rains. Now do you remember how everything was looking so bad and we kept asking for prayer? The corn had died on one of the son's fields, but the soybeans just seemed to keep hanging in there.  There were parts that were dying and turning yellow.  We kept praying for rain. We just didn't quit praying.

When I went out to look at the plants closer, there were soybean
pods..........EVERYWHERE! With work and all I just hadn't looked at them.

Some of the plants had lots of little baby pods that were coming on. Little purple flowers. You know I was so excited........I just dropped to my knees.......right there in the middle of the field. Praising and thanking my God for the impossible!!!!!!! It was a gift.......and I knew who it was for. It was for my sweet mans siblings..........and the reason I know it was, was because we kept praying that the Lord would bless them with a good crop. That is the key ladies.........don't quit asking........keep praying until He makes the answer definate. I know that many of you have been praying for years for things that you have not seen happen. I have one sweet friend that prayed for about 40 years for her marriage.....that God would make it into something beautiful. He did.......and now she reaps the sweetness of her commitment to her marriage............ God heard...........if that is you.......please keep asking........He hears EVERY WORD that comes from YOUR LIPS.........I promise!

I have only two more days and I will be back HOME for two days. I will blessed! I can't wait to wake up and walk in my garden.....see the sun come through our window...........it will be a good day!!!!!!!!! I will enjoy the days at the college..........He is meeting me there.

Have to make a Lemon Pound cake tomorrow for 500. Should be busy......the time will fly by!

Hugs to all of you and may your day be blessed........by the ONE who loves you so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11th Building Our Homes Together.........with Jesus

Hello sweet ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is our 11th Building Our Homes Together With Jesus........can you believe it?

Talk about precious........thank you for all the kindness you showed my sweet man and myself. We hardly had time to think about our anniversary..........we worked so hard at the school, trying to get all the baking done. My sweet man is now the grill chef. It was fun to hear all the kids and kitchen talk about what a "mean omelet" he made. He made me one........it was wonderful. He is getting real good and they all love the hamburgers at lunch........he doesn't burn them like the guy before! Our boss is really happy that he is catching on so well. I can boost a little right? I think it is the grills that he got over the years for Father's Day......never did we know that it was going to be a career for him some day. Heeheee!

Look at what we canned today. The peaches we have been getting have been wonderful! A sweet lady in the Beachy community got together all these ladies to value order. Worked out great for all the families. The peaches we got are called O'Henry. Never heard of that kind before, but they have been very good. This weekend I will make jam and jelly. Can't wait. I got 13 quarts done this afternoon. Then our girls were acting all funny like..........knew they were up to something. They made us leave,  because they had a surprise.

They walked us into a beautiful set table. The lace tablecloth was covering the table.........they had picked the three flowers from the farm for the decorations. Tressa said she looked all over.......nothing grew to speak of. Notice the sweet hankie under their Daddy's plate and the nummy peach, strawberry drink.

My plate had the pink hankie. The table was set beautifully!

They served the most delicious
Chicken/Basil and Tomatoe Sauce Pasta............it was so good!

For dessert we were served the most nummy Peach Pie. They let us eat our dinner alone.......what a precious act of kindness and love. One we will not ever forget.

As I think tonight about Building Our Homes Together..........with Jesus, I am reminded that it is about families.......working through the hard and good times to make a HOME. Striving for our Home to look like what Jesus wants it to look like. It is different for each family. Failing at times, but never giving up. Forgiveness.......when needed. I am so grateful for my children and my precious sweet man and a Heavenly Father that never changes. Lately He is using us outside our Home.......trusting Him on this journey. Tonight the girls came home from visiting some of the girls at the college they became close with last year. One newly wed and some single girls.......they kept telling the girls they wanted to come to the farm. Precious.........our family is getting bigger...."Father continue to do with us as you see fit." Help us to keep our eyes the YOU

Unless the LORD builds the House
they labor in vain who build it........
Psalm 127: 1

He is our foundation........Thank you sweet ladies for coming and making our anniversary so special. Your comments were a blessings to us!

Happy Anniversary to US!

Hello Sweet ladies,

First I have to tell you this. I am writing this on Monday night. Our neighbors are on a little mini trip and we are caring for their dogs. They have a swimming pool and so we all went up for a bit to swim. Taylor our youngest was the only one that swam.......too cold for the rest of us. Anyway Tay was finished, so we came home. For some reason she thought she should go out and check the horses. When she got out there I could hear  her yelling for her Daddy. Juneau our horse was tangled in a rope, laying down on the ground and couldn't move and Tay couldn't get her untied. She is the one that is going to have a baby in the spring. Tay kept yelling, "I need a knife to cut the rope." Long story short Phil got her undone. We were so thankful, one we came home early and two that Tay decided to just go out and check on them. God was so good to our family tonight. We are totally exhausted!!!!!!! Never know why sometimes that we make the choices that we make. It was a good choice tonight.......we are Praising Him.

Now when you look at this picture........don't freak out, if you are a new follower! I had never been married before........I was an unwed mother........not proud of that today or even then........but a very thankful lady, that God is a God of Grace........forgiveness when we ask.........a Redeemer for the faithless.........and a Savior for the lost. He took two very lost people and a little boy........and has given both of us 37 years of beauty. I am so thankful for my sweet man.

The story is in two places, if you want to read. Here and Here. I would so love for you to leave me your love story in the comment or on an email. I LOVE stories about real people.

So Mr. Sweet man (he reads my posts).........just for the record.........you are the most "preciousness" that has ever happened in my life, besides when Jesus accepted me! The next was when you blessed me with a loving Home for all of our children. Thank you for praying for me everyday.
Happy Anniversary! Ugh we have to work in the kitchen on our special day.......heehee.....God said it was okay!

Hugs sweet ladies and thanks again for leaving the sweetness in my comments today!

Monday is here.........summer vacation is over!

Hello sweet ladies,

I will be at the college today........so glad I will be back home at 2. That will give me time to get a lot of other things done when I get home. We will be making lunch and evening desserts  plus two breakfast items. We have been saving a lot of recipes on my Pinterest. You can look at my College board (click on pinterest), if you like. We will enjoy cooking new things. We have a huge walk in pantry in the bakery, anything I need......... at my finger tips. Kind of fun to be able to cook so many things. I will take pic's and post later in the afternoon............so you can see what we did!

Apple Slab recipe found here

We will be making this for lunch. Apples are plentiful this time of year and the kids love anything apple, so it will be real easy to make.

Strawberry Lemonade Scones recipe here

I know we had some strawberries in the fridge, so we will try this recipe also. Don't they look wonderful?

Please pray for us!!!!!!!! We will need it!!! I will be thinking of you.........lots and wishing I was HOME.......smile!

Hugs sweet ladies........when I get HOME I will be putting up peaches. Thought I would make some jam.......for the winter months. Can you believe we are halfway through August. Tomorrow is our 37th wedding anniversary.........can't believe it and I still get to be by his side every day.......a prayer of ours still being answered. Thank you Jesus!

It is SONday!

Good Morning sweet ladies,

Our Kansas sunsets are beautiful!

Wow, what a week...........but we made it through! Hope yours was a good one. Ours was another one of learning to trust the Lord again!!!!!!!! He was so precious during this last week at the college caf and when the dogs came back to the farm. Hard for sure, but yesterday I was talking to my sister-in-love........about how, if you look real hard............. you can still see blessings in the hard times. God is just like that........... to help us keep on His path. One thing that stood out the most for me was yesterday morning watching the Peking duck with the wounded white one. I put them in with the chickens in the big coop after the dogs came. They seem to be doing quite well. The precious thing though was watching the Peking duck protect the white one. He chases everything that gets close, and then he just stands close by. Loved watching him. Is that what we do.......stand close by the wounded one? I like the picture of the ducks....I don't want to forget..........I want to be that way.......please continue to pray for our Hannah who lost her little one. She misses her so........can't imagine. God is her faithful one, He is definitely standing close by!

Had to stop by Grandma Yoder's yesterday to pick up some more peaches. The girls (her daughters, my friends) had Grandma's bonnet and night clothes all freshly washed, hanging ready to put on grandma later that evening as they tuck her in for the night. I just had to take a picture. The nightclothes are so simple........she was Amish when she grew up....love her old aprons. She is starting to fail. Makes my heart sad. She didn't remember me yesterday, but did the other day. Life changes........God is still faithful......a precious thing! She kept telling us she wanted to go to church yesterday.......it was Saturday.......the fact she wanted to go blessed my heart!

click picture to read........beautiful verse
Hanging in Grandma Yoder's Home a gift for Rosa.

Hope your day is full of God's teaching..............so thankful it is found in His Word. Our family will be there.......learning.......and gleaning. Tomorrow we are full time back at the college kitchen.......I would so appreciate your prayers. Yep, a baby again......heehee.......I know what to expect this year though, so that will help. The people I work with do not all know my Jesus........pray they will some day. I will pray........but I know it will be His wooing.

Please look at my post yesterday if you wouldn't mind and please sign up for the Wood Family. This morning they have made $111.00 so far. They can make up to $1000. if they just get comments on their blog. Thank you soooooo much ladies for all who went over to leave a comment yesterday! You are so so precious!!!!!!!

Hugs to you......... this SONday,

Linda

I Have A Huge Favor!

Good MORNING!!!!!!!! It is Saturday and I am lovin it!!!!!!!!! I have loved my summer vacation to know end. Going back to the college is going to be full of new adventures and I am going to try to handle it the best I can. The Lord is right in front leading the way and I am right beside my sweet man and two girls. I am blessed and will continue to ask the Lord for those who need loved on! Pray with me. We get to cook anything we want at the bakery, so that will be fun in itself. I will put up some recipes that we make. You seemed to enjoy that last year. I get home in the afternoon at 2. Leaves us a whole other day almost. We have to get up real early, I mean early so that will be an adventure! Heehee. I like early, but "real early".......notta!

Went and checked the farm animals this morning.  See how the white ducks foot is out to the side. It is still limping around.....but  alive. YAHOO! Blesses my heart big time.

The black duck was up and limp walking this morning, seems to like the little banty chickens...........yesterday all he could do most of the time was crawl. Thank you Jesus!!!!!!! So happy!

Went into the big coop.........look at Miss Girly........she was a "sittin" so pretty........the girls are laying real good again. It was so hot this summer and they didn't drink as much so only a few eggs a day. Poor things.......they are making up for it just in time.........I will be selling my eggs at the college......real blessing!

The Woods Family
adding.......

Okay here is my favor. You know our son and daughter are going to be leaving in 2 weeks for the first part of the adoption process.........can't believe it. OUR GRANDSON IS ALMOST HOME! Can't wait. Anyway Tonya called this morning. She has a neighbor family who is adopting a little little boy named Blake with Downs Syndrome. The story is precious! You can watch the story on there web site! Anyway they were on Channel 3 in Wichita. Channel 3 had a lady say that she would would give up to $1.00 if people would leave a comment on their blog up to $1000.00 .......say anything that might encourage this precious family.  Isn't that the coolest?  I am really getting into this adoption thing. Love it that families are stepping out with huge obstacles in front of them and giving Christian HOMES to children that need Momma's and Daddy's There blog is called Home On The Range,  Click Here. Thank you Channel 3.

Adopting Blake
If you do this, thank you sooooooooo much for your time. I don't know this family, but love what they are doing for this precious little one.

The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40.

Hugs to your day........going to a Money Tree Shower for Josh's family.........going to be a special day! Vitaliy is going to be Home before we know it. The time has gone so fast. Remember to pray for "truth about their love for him would stay in his mind. Thank you!
