The Girls Are Back.....In Full Force!

Oh, my girls are back laying eggs. They went on strike and it was very sad for me. I soo much enjoy having fresh eggs for my daily cooking. I enjoyed going out with my basket, that my friend Gail gave me with an adorable ribbon tied around the handle gathering eggs and it just wasn't happenin! They are in full force now. The old hen started laying and the young girls just followed her leading. You know the best thing about chickens? That they always lay eggs on Sunday! That is just a blessing in my book. The Lord is just so good to us, even in the little things!

Remember I showed you the picture of the duck egg nest? Well I kept forgetting to tell you that something came and ate every single egg. Sad day on the farm for me and just not nice that something would come and eat them allll. She is still laying and they are the best eggs for baking cakes and muffins. I am not sure why they are the best. Someone just told me.

In my last post I shared with you about the Girlhood Home Companion magazine. I hope you took advantage of the free download for the beautiful tea cozy newsletter. If any of you had problems, please get ahold of me, so Jill and I can make sure you received the blessings we wanted you to receive. If you were blessed by it, please let us know why. If you have ideas that you would like to see in the magazine let me know and I will pass it on. I know Jill's heart is to bless ladies of all ages with the Girlhood Home Companion magazine.

Well I am off to church to see what the Lord has for me this day and hopefully I will put it in my life and live it. That is the hardest thing about the Christian walk, wouldn't you agree?
Blessings,
Linda

  1. Oh Linda I wish my girls would do better. I've had a terrible egg year. The weather has been so wierd all summer they may have been confused. Hopefully they will molt and start over next spring full bore!

  3. I am glad your chickens are laying again. How long did their molting time last?

  4. Love the picture for your post! Makes me (almost) want to have my own chickens...*smile*...but I do buy free-range organic, so that must count for something! Have a blessed Lord's Day!

P.S. I do agree with you...it is most difficult to implement the things the Lord is teaching us...but oh if we would only learn more quickly that it really is the BEST way!!

  5. Oh my! my girls have gone on strike too, sure hope they start back up again soon! I missed our church yesterday that was a first in a very long time for me but we went on a camping trip and just got back late last night. So I did spend such an awesome time in God's playground. The fall colors were beautiful.Blessings, Karen
