CHRISTmas

Hello sweet ladies,

Things are going well. Seems like getting ready for CHRISTmas helps so my mind doesn't have to just think about everything sad. I have so much to do and with my sis coming it helps just thinking about getting ready! It will be so wonderful when she is here.

Been thinking a lot about when I was young...living in Alaska with my parents.....bubble lights and tinsel on the tree keeps coming to my mind. It is good to go back and bring up those special times.......do you have any memories you would like to share. Any favorite piece that you put out each year to make your CHRISTmas special?

Well, back to housework! Either one or two more days and Shanny will be here!!!!!!! Pinching myself......a gift.....amidst all the sorrow. God is so good!

Oh, one more thing.....it is suppose to snow on Wednesday.....now that would be special!

Thank you for all being you!!!!!!!

Don't forget the birdies.......I am going out the door right now to get the birdseed and water ready in case it snows. I have a Momma and Poppa cardinal right out the kitchen window. They are there everyday........off and on! More on then off......makes the day a little sweeter!

  3. I hope your sister made out well at the specialist and that your time together will be special! Looking forward to getting my snowman in the mail. It will be so special to have this snowman for 2 reasons.....one, it was made by you and you have become very special to me. Two, because I am looking forward to Christmas future and thanking God his plan is unfolding for us. I will be thinking of you and your family in the coming days. I know they will be difficult.

  4. Hi Linda, my fondest christmas memories are of my mother and aunt serving huge amounts of dinner to lots of family - the thing that always amazed me the most was that everything arrived at the same time and was piping hot and wonderfully presented! don't know how they managed it.
Enjoy your sisters visit. Hope you are all doing OK.

  5. We always called it tinsel as well and it had to be put on strand by strand. Enjoy the time with your sister. I'm sure there will be heartfelt tears but also good memories of your mom to share. Take care and Merry Christmas.

  6. The events of this past week are heavy on my heart. Then I am praying for you and your family. Sad times amid a beautiful season of celebrating Our Lord! You will enjoy your sister's company. Tears of joy are so good for the soul. I remember losing my dad and my oldest sis was alive then too. She told my other sister and I a deep dark secret. Seems my grandmother did not approve of my dad marrying my mom. Yet my grandmother K raised five daughters along with my dad and his brother and yet when she became elderly and very ill my mother took care of her! I hope she appreciated it as I was a youngster then. Sometime I will tell you the story about the bread dough rising in the trunk of my car! LOL! Whenever I was with both of my sisters we did a lot of laughing! Now there is just the two of us and we try to carry on the tradition. Whenever we drive to Kansas I text my sis all the way there and all the way back!
My folks put tinsel on the tree and my mother let us add it one strand at a time! LOL! Hugs to you Anne
