A Busy Day!

Hello all you sweet ladies,

I didn't get to blog last night because I had some sweet little guests on the farm. Two little sisters, one is about 7 and the other is 4. Two little sweeties that love our horses and any kind of party. I thought since I had some leftover chicken rice soup made from Sunday, I would invite the two little girls and their Aunt for dinner. I also had some brownies that Tay had fixed for our Sunday evening snack. Perfect! 

The sun was starting to go down and the sky was so beautiful!!  I had an oil lamp at the entrance of the Potter's Shed. They of course loved that and so did their Aunt. We stayed with the horse and they enjoyed petting him. 

We picked up the lamp and walked in the dark with the lamp guiding our steps. Course we had some little kittens that followed close behind. When we entered the cabin I lit some candles  and then we all sat around the table. We bowed our heads, held hands and thanked the Lord for our time and food. I prayed for their little lives.......and for their future husbands, that were being trained by their parents at this time. Some may ask why? My sweet man and I have prayed for all our children's spouses from the time they were little. It is so important.  The little girls were so pleased even though we were just eating soup and crackers. They kept saying, "oh this is so good"! Eating with the lamp and candles gave us all memories we were not going to forget.  The little chatter that went on was priceless.  One of the girls sang me a song....precious. It was about a little Eskimo girl......we talked about my life in Alaska and if I had ever seen an igloo. A night enjoyed by all. 


Hope all is well with you all. I have 3 more days left and then we will be on vacation. Can't wait! Lots planned to get some much needed things done. 


I will also be getting the house ready for our Thanksgiving dinner. Are you all getting to stay Home or will you travel?

So thankful Jesus came!

Kind of took the weekend off! Friday at work was so busy, had to work an hour over. Lots of catering items had to be made. Came Home and it felt so good to know I didn't have to go back the next two days. It was a good feeling.


Saturday was such an enjoyable day for me. My sweet man has been slowly getting the storm windows fixed. We had such a horrible ice storm a few years back and the windows were damaged real bad. Hope it will make a difference this winter. While we were in town to pick up some of the cut glass, we went over to a little town not far to a quaint Quilt Shop. 

I needed to pick up some more fabric for this little guy. The main part of the little snowman is a wonderful "organic 100% cotton" fabric.....perfect for a snowman! I designed him last year and never finished the pattern up. This next week "Winter" will be "hand stitched" for sale and also in pattern form or as a download. I will keep you posted. My afternoon was busy working on the pattern, which blessed my soul and also had chicken going on the stove, so I could can it later in the day. Ended up with 7 quarts and 9 pints of chicken to put in the pantry! Will be so nice to have chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes to eat during  the winter months. Oh I almost forgot to tell you, while I was at the Quilt store there was 2 sweet ladies (they were twins),  and we all got to talking. It came up that I was canning chicken. She said, "I have something for YOU! 12 boxes of canning jars. If I just would pick them up!!!!!!! Would I pick them UP? I couldn't believe it!!!!!!! Blessed my day big time! I will go to get them when we are on Fall break! Thank you JESUS! He takes care of all my needs..........Thankful!

We had Ian and Vitaliy out on the farm also. They had so much fun in their "fort". We gave them old electronics. They do not look the same as when we gave them to them. Smile! They took all the "mother boards" out and thought they had found treasures! 

Later in the day the boys  helped their Poppa put up an electric fence. With the drought that we had this last summer, life has been very hard for farmers and their animals. Vitaily is used to lots of work from being in the orphange. He loves it!

V loves Koko! He has no fear........around horses, you should have a little!

Planting Garlic!

Hello sweet ladies,

It has been a few days since I have posted. Been such a busy week and I have missed you all! I am glad many are still signing up for the party! If you haven't......please do! I will have the drawing on Saturday, can't wait to see who wins. 

Today when I got home the weather was beautiful outside.......sun shining and rather warm for this time of year. 

I put on my pretty boot and out the door I went!!!!!!!

I decided to plant my garlic. I know I am a little late for fall planting, but I thought I would still try to get it in. I think it will do fine. We got over an inch of rain in the last few days, so that will help it a lot. I turned the ground over in this trough, that I always plant my garlic in. The trough is in the potter's shed and it is nice and protected from the weather. 

First separate the cloves and take off the outer skin, carefully before you plant the garlic. 

Make sure your ground is moist........not real wet.

Plant with the point up and the root bottom down in the ground.

I put a thin layer of straw on the top of it tonight. The weather is suppose to be nice through the weekend. Then if it starts to get real cold in the weeks ahead,  I will put another 4"s of straw all over the top. The straw will protect the garlic from the harsh weather if we have one. 

It will be nice to have garlic in the late spring and early summer to harvest.

We have a lot of baking that we will be doing at the bakery tomorrow! Lots!!!!!!!! We have 3 catering's to bake for......think we 

will be busy!

One of the recipes I will be baking up is this Pumpkin Pie Crumble. It is sooooo simple and delish!!!!! We have made it before and

the kids really liked it.

They are little, sweet, easy to carry in your purse.......stick on the shelf close by you in your kitchen or craft room. I take them with me in my purse so I can read when we go on short trips from our farm. They are full of wonderful tips.......crafty ideas........ simple, fast and quick ideas for all your needs!!!!!!!!!!

Tiny Tips for the Kitchen

Simple shortcuts & helpful hints for the heart of the home. 

You are going to find this one sooooo sooooo helpful in your kitchen! I couldn’t believe some of the tips I found in this fun little book. Here are a few!

A quick substitution for corn syrup combine 1 -1/4 cups sugar and 1/3 cup water in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat and mixture thickens and becomes syrupy.
We do this at the bakery all the time! Works great!

Does a recipe call for toasted nuts or coconut? Toast your own by spreading in a shallow pan and baking at 350 degrees for 7 to 12 minutes stirring frequently until golden. 

Parchment paper is a baker’s best friend! Pace it on a baking sheet to keep cookies from spreading and sticking...clean-up is a breeze too. Look for rolls of parchment paper at groceries and bakery supply stores.

This is a must at the bakery!!!!!!!!!

Chopped or crushed candy bars make a fast &; easy topping for frosted cakes. Try using toffee, carmel or nougat bars........mmm! 

We make brownies frosted with peanut butter frosting!!!!  Then we chop Reese's peanut buttercups and sprinkle on the top.

Here is what we made at work today. I used Hershey's Kisses Cordial Candies for a nummy cupcake!  They were delicious and most important the kids thought so too!

Okay the pic doesn't look that good........sorry, but they are so tasty!

Super easy cupcakes to make!!!!!! Make up your favorite chocolate cake recipe........make it into cupcakes. Start taking off the foil of each Hershey's Cordial Cherry Kiss while they are cooking. Cut each candy in half while cupcakes are baking. Take cooked cupcakes out of the oven and be ready to push into the top middle of cupcake a 1/2 of a Hershey's cordial kiss.  Make a butter cream frosting and add cherry pie filling to your taste. For a regular 2 cups of powdered sugar recipe I would use about 2-3 tablespoons, beat good. Frost cupcakes after they cool! This was the best tasting cupcake ever!!!!!!! Not kidding! Tasted like a huge cordial candy cupcake! You must try.

It is SONDAY...........trust you are having a day of Rest!!!!!!!!

Hello Sweetie ladies,

I will be using it for Fall and later for CHRISTmas! 

Today I was able to do some things around the farm...........loved it, but it was sooooooo soooooo windy........way to windy for the Girlie Hens and myself. It was funny.......every time I went out to check on them and the egg production (I just love going and checking for eggs, the girls were inside the coop all huddled......don't blame them one bit! Just to much for them I guess to be standing outside being blasted by the southeast wind. Anyway......I crafted,  organized and  gave my sweet man a little project. I have wanted this "sweetness box" fixed for a long long time, but just have had to many other things to get done, soooooooo he did it for me!

I have had this box for years........my sweet man has repaired it for me before well probably lots of times before. I know this picture looks like the box should be thrown away.......I can't do it! It is my favorite! One of my "things" is very old boxes! The older the better. 

This is the bottom........aged...........wood. Perfect!

The star has two broken parts underneath.........as Vitaliy says....."esssssssss okay"!

I like how it has the white washed looked. 

Well I have to say........I was reading to my sweet man about the earthquake on Friday night in Oklahoma tonight (Sat. night). About two minutes later I felt like I was swaying........then said to myself it is just in your head........well it wasn't, just east of OK. they had another 5.6 earthquake. I was in the one in Alaska when I was young........it was very scary. Not sure I want to do this again!

Reminds me of end times.........are you ready to meet God, if you died tonight? Jesus came to save the lost (us).......to die on the cross for our sins.......if we accept what He did for us taking our place.......and turn to Him and accept His life for ours you will have  new life......He will give it. He paid the price! Tell Him, if you never have before that you need Him as Savior........He has been waiting. If you need to talk with me.....please email me. I would love to talk with!!!!!!!

A Very Very Windy Day!

Hello Sweet Ladies,

Today I get to sew all day long and I can't wait........I also am going to do a little decorating and I wanted to share with you some of the things myself and others from Pinterest have found.........hope you can find some ideas you can use in your home.

It is so windy outside this morning and will be getting worse as the days go on......so today will be a good day to stay inside. Plus it is very cold. I will be adding some more straw to the Hen House......and that will make me feel better! They are all huddled up because of the wind today. Brrrrrr! 

This was found on Google.......thought it was adorable! I bought some burlap! Have the homespun fabric for a bow! Can't wait to hang it on the Hen House.......think they will like it!

His Peace!

Hello precious sweet ladies,

I can't believe it.......the snow came......and snowed while I was sleeping....then I woke up this morning.....very early when the rooster crows........and went outside......NO SNOW! Not cool.......not at all. I know it won't be long and it will be here and I will be saying........."when will it go away". Not sure I would say that, but I might....... so I will just have to enjoy the Indian Summer we are having. All along Peace Creek (a creek not far from our farm) the trees are turning every color....... yellow, orange and greens. Just beautimus! The air has been so crisp .......definitely not summer.......it is truly AUTUMN. I will try to take a pic tomorrow when I come home from serving at the college.  It is Friday you know and that means I freedom for me! Sometimes I feel so confined after being on a farm and working outside. Inside gets so stuffy, but I soooo enjoy my Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays.........just plain LOVE IT!

Tonight I was doing dishes.......this is what I look at every time I stand in front of my sink. The little sign peace is one of my favorites .......a reminder that my PEACE comes from Him and Him alone. Trust it is the same for you! If you are having a hard time with peace..........I am asking Him to give you that PEACE...........He knows just who you are!

I have a prayer request. Their is a precious young man that is at the college. I won't tell you his name.......Jesus knows it, but he had not been able to sleep for 3 nights. Only an hour a night. Poor thing! Please would you please lift him up.........I told him I would pray......I need some numbers! Thank you so much!
