Raining.........Snow Expected On Saturday!!!!!!!

Hello sweet ladies...........

It has been raining at Prairie Flower Farm and I have been thankful! So has all the other farm families around us. The sound has been wonderful. Lots of thunder in the middle of the night, but it didn't matter.......just hearing it made us know that God was answering the farmers prayers! When we got home I went to do the chores and it just smelt wonderful outside! It was still raining and the drops on the mud puddles looked so pretty! We just haven't had much rain fall for some time.....so when we get it we are a little bit happy to say the least.

So are the ducks and the chickens who have finally gone into the big coop! The girls are wet......but I am sure they enjoyed the rain as much as we have! They will be cleaning their feathers.

Yesterday when I came home from the bakery I had a box and a letter waiting for me. I love mail! Inside the box were some lovely Valentine presents from my dear friend Susan who lives in Texas. She also had some wonderful teas.......my Tressy and I are enjoying one of the bags right now. It is called African Autumn by Harney & Sons.......very very good on a cool rainy night! The letter was from another friend who sent the most beautiful card that had a tea cup on the front of the card and a tea bag of White/Black Currant placed in the cup. It was so nice to come home from work with special gifts a waiting me! Thank you sweet friends!

I have two blessings that have happened in my life. One is at work our boss has given us permission to listen to our ipods. We are listening to book stories....which makes the time at work go so fast. Another one of the girls is listening to the same story as I am. The Secret by Beverly Lewis. It has truly been a gift! Today another girls asked if we could put the story on her mp3 player. It was an answer to prayer for me. God is so in the details of not only my life, but the ones I have come to care about "very much" at work! The books I have chosen have the plan of salvation....."clear". I wouldn't read anything different. I tell the girls up front. God has a place in each of their hearts......to yearn for HIM

The other day there was a young man at the cafeteria. He was really sad and I could tell. I asked how he was doing and he said, "not good, not good at all". I told him I would pray.....he just nodded. The next morning I saw him at breakfast, he didn't look so good again.......told him I was praying for him......he said, "you are"? Then I saw him at lunch.....he had a smile.....told him I was still praying......he said mornings are hard......I said I was talking to Jesus about him.......he smiled. I think I have made a friend.......hope one day he will trust Jesus for his all. Those who love God.......be a witness....so many need our Jesus!

This not my Momma Sheep, but I am praying about her!

My other blessing is that my sweet man has agreed to my having a Momma sheep with a baby inside her! Now I don't have the Momma yet, but I have been researching about getting her. I will be going to the sale barn on the 18th of February, with my sweet man......he helps me to buy wise, because I can't always keep up with the auctioneer) smile! So thankful he is agreeing to my dream......he said though, "NO GOATS........that's where I draw the line......smile he knows how to keep a reign on me......I would buy every kind of animal if he would let me! That is okay I love sheep....they are so funny when the hop around on all their feet! I can't wait. When she comes to our farm her name will be Willow and the babies name will be Twig unless she has twins......hmmmm a name?  If you could pray with.......I would so appreciate it. I have a little shed that I will be having them live in and a picket fence around it. I will let you see as I work on it!!!! Again........I can't wait!!!!!!! A new family member.....building our farm.......so you can come and visit and meet Willow and Twig.

I read this about a Shepherd.......it could be referring to the Lord. A Shepherd leads a sheep. He doesn't push or herd them like cattle. If the sheep has to traverse a narrow mountain path, the Shepherd will stand on the outside edge, with his back to the open side of a cliff, hold out his arms with the rod in one hand and the staff in the other, making himself a fence so the sheep will continue their journey up the narrow path...........just like my Jesus with me....even though I have felt like sometimes I was falling off the ledge....... again so grateful to know Truth

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

I will........I am Home.....and lovin it!

Blessings,

Linda

  7. I know the Lord is blessing you daily and I pray you will find a very healthy Willow. I would like to suggest that you ask around at local farms for an ewe instead of the salebarn. I am not against salebarns but many time people sell older ewes or ewes that had trouble having their babies, or what is called culled ewes. But if you can buy a ewe from a farm and talk with the owner, you will be saving yourself much grief later. I sold 27 ewes to a fellow and his family that just moved into our community and I am down to a small flock now or I would have told you to come see me. I love my sheep and I too often associate my flock with what God is telling me in the Bible. I will pray for your new flock.
I enjoy your blog and so happy that you were blessed with rain.
    God bless

She had told me the other day that she had just sold a bottle fed very tame ewe with 3 babies. UGH! Any way she had a little guy that she was bottle feeding and our youngest daughter got to bring it home to feed! Works for me! His name is Squirt she is having a blast! We are lovin the rain.....no snow......we will be happy with the rain!!!!!!! Hugs and thank you for the sweetness! me

  9. Love the pics of your girlies and the precious lambs :) I like bottle feeding baby lambs.

Such a sweet story about the young man at the college. You showed him much kindness and love.

No goats? My parents used to have 2 pygmy goats. They were sweet and just like a pet.

  10. Hi Linda :) :) :)

I think it would be wonderfulto have a mama sheep on the farm :) ): Yes, they are funny when they're hopping on all four legs. When I still lived in Oregon, there were quite a few small farms near me that raised sheep. The best is when the new lambs have just been born. They look like little cotton balls out on the grass..and when they run, they look like little puffs of popcorn flitting to and fro :) :) Adorable :) :)

I'm really loving all the stories from the kitchen. God is really opening up some doors for you to love on others and tell them about Jesus :)

Love and hugs from the ocean shore of California, Heather :)

Snowed all day long yesterday! 3 of the kids cars are buried currently. I love that sheep photo. You are such a darling. I am always praying for some young person. So many lost souls. I have to keep trusting Him. Otherwise I will be a lost sheep too! :) Anne

  12. I guess you have your snow by now, we haven't yet in WNC, unusually warm winter. Willow and twig, I love the names! How exciting! Next thing we know you will be shearing, carding and weaving! And we will be buying yarn!
Linda you told us if we needed prayers to let you know. I need prayer. I need prayers for unity in our family right now. Some things are going on right now that I can't go into, but I am afraid that tempers will explode between Husband and older Son. My Husband doesn't need that right now, due to health issues he is dealing with. I am afraid. Trying to pray, but having a hard time. It has always been hard between them. Sorry to lay this on you, you have so much on your plate. But I can't turn to anyone else. I feel like I am so alone. I know that God loves them both, but they both have such tempers in spite of their being Christians. I don't understand. Sorry Linda, I am going to close and go pray to our Father, that's what I need to do. It just feels good to talk to someone.

    1. I am so with Heather........please email me anytime. prairieflowerfarm@gmail.com anytime!!!!!!!! Every family CHRISTian or not have problems with our sin nature! Hard as long as we live down here on earth.

Let's pray sweet lady......don't let the enemy give you fear......you have a Father that cares when we come on bended knee. Father in Heaven........first we love you. You know everything about our days and you care more than we will ever know. You are interested in families.....and so we lift cj's precious man and son.....please would you come and minister to their hearts.......convict them of their issues. Break the hold that has been there for so long in the precious name of Jesus! You are our only hope. One thing for sure we can entrust them to you and not worry. Give cj all that she needs to battle for her family! Remind her of truth that she can stand on in your word. Give her supernatural strength by your Holy Spirit and we will continue to praise you for your help!

Hugs sweet friend, Linda and like Heather said......you are not alone......you have Jesus and his followers praying for you!

  16. Thank you dear ladies for praying for me and my family. I want you to know I was laying in bed this morning crying and praying but also fearful about today our son will be here for super bowl and I am fearful re what my husband needs to bring up to him. Do you know what our God said? "Be still and know that I am God."! I opened my eyes and thought, did God just speak to me? Then it came again, like a thought, but I could almost hear it being said! You all must have been praying at the same time I was! I am feeling hopeful re the situation, knowing that God can turn it into a good thing in the long run!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you sweet ladies!

    Love,
    Carol (cj)

    1. Good morning sweet Carol, isn't it precious when we can know that the Lord has spoke to us personally. I love it. Over the years when my heart has been unrest with what was going on in family, I too have experienced the same thing. Precious!

I have a book that is by Beth Moore, called Praying God's Word. It is falling apart....helps me keep my eyes on Jesus. Here is one for you today.
"Lord, I don't want to waver through unbelief regarding Your promises, but I desire to be strengthened in my faith and give glory to You, God, being fully persuaded that You have power to do what You promise. You credit this kind of faith to Your children as righteousness!" Rom. 4:20-22

Praying for your day. Hope Dad waits until after the Super bowl! Smile!
      Hugs, Linda
