Flower's For YOU

Good morning sweet ladies,

If I could pick you flowers...........these would be it.

Woke up this morning to the fresh smell of rain.......it filled our bedroom..........you know that smell. Hhhmmmmm fresh linens hanging on the line smell.......after you bring them in the house they fill your HOME with sweetness? It hardly rained over the night.......but it sure smells pretty! We have needed rain for some time..........we will keep trusting and asking.

Remember yesterday when I told you I was going to stay extra close to the Lord........well I am so glad I did! I kept reading and praying scripture. Kept my mind in the heavens which is a wonderful place to stay at times! The day was special for my Farmer Man..........we went to the Sterling College men and woman's basketball games. They were number one and were "champions" last night. The boys and girls kept asking my honey, "when are you going to come to the game?" So he felt with this being the last game we needed to go. I spent some time reading.........my scripture.......and praying right there. It is amazing that you can have sweet time with the Lord and be right in the middle of a fan filled gym.......with yelling all around and you are in your quiet place. Sweetness! We watched the kids celebrate a little after the game and we set off for the farm. It was dark last night. I was looking straight ahead talking to my friend in California as my honey was driving and all of a sudden we had this HUGE doe flying across the front of the car............right at eye level. Scared me half to death. Yelled into my friends ear that is helping me with a fund raiser idea (coming realllllll soon)!!!!!!! My heart was racing..... I started screaming and thanking the Lord for protection all at the same time. I thought the doe was going to be right on our lap!!!!!!! Not a good deal.........on the doe or the front of our car. The girls were in the back of the car and they were joining me in the excitement of what happened....yelling~~~. Honey had 3 women letting him know that they were scared! The deer didn't fair well it was sad. We had to call the Sheriff to come out and access the damages. When honey opened the door it made a funny noise.......that got the girls going. Honey couldn't find the insurance paper...........that made us girls nervous and when Stubbie girls are nervous.........we giggle........alot....... Not good with the Sheriff right there. Honey finally found it.....he didn't have his reading glasses on so that made it hard. Now since the hours have been cut at the college.......need I say more. We do have good insurance though ..........but why did this have to happen???? Well when everything goes bad.............go to the WORD.....right?????? We have done it almost all of our married life together and last night was nooooooooo different. IT will get you through when nothing else will. So........her is what it says.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

We are going to face hard times.........it will make sense when we get to heaven though. So that is what our family will do to the best of our abilities with this situation. Be joyful knowing that the Lord will give us the strength to walk it through . I am sure you all have your own faith stories of when He worked out the details as only He can......because we are..........His children and what "good" Father doesn't care for his kids. Not always easy for sure.

This is what I read on understanding the joy in this scripture:

A Christian's joy is a gift from God to those who believe the gospel, being produced in them by the Holy Spirit as they receive and obey the Word, being mixed with trials with a hope set on future glory.

Hope this encourages you. I know you all have the same struggles in your days. It is just life, right?

Family is coming out today..........it will be good.

Hugs from my farm to your HOME.

Linda

  7. Glad to hear all involved are safe and sound. I pray every morning that I drive to work that God will send His angels to keep the deer off the road, I would hate to hit one. The admonition of Scripture that states "let perservance finish its work" is painful. My time always says something will be finished sooner than "real" time; but if we wait and allow it, the reward is "maturity and completeness".

  8. Hi Linda - yours is one of the blogs I visit on a weekly basis, more interesting in that we are both from Kansas. Although I live in the SE corner of KS now, I went to Bethel College in Newton back in the day and we used to play Sterling in athletics. So my ears pricked up when you said that!

Also, I know how those car/deer accidents go. We have them frequently around here. One year we had three - two in one vehicle and one in another. The one was a Lincoln Continental - built like a tank and barely slowed down when it collided with a deer! Nowadays, most cars aren't built like that - but I saw a car in the Wal-Mart parking lot the other day that had a heavy duty pickup rack fastened to the front bumper. Made me grin, but we have to protect ourselves. Me, I just drive real slow after dark and pray a lot. I thank God every time I make it home without an accident.

  9. HI Linda, It is amazing how our Lord works! I was just reading Martha Pullens letter in the front of the M/A issue of Sew Beautiful. Her letter was about worry (so fitting to my and my husband's life this past 3 months). The scriptures she quoted were;

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

Luke 12:25-26 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

So much needed and so much given! I understand the need to be so close to our Father through prayer and His Word! Glad to hear you are all ok. love, Denise

  10. Hi sweet Linda,
Soooooo sorry to hear about your incident...oh my...my Lace and Blake had a similar one with a big buck not too long ago....I always fear driving at night thinking about the deer. So very happy none of you were injured...and yet always feel so bad about those deer...can't help it. Cars can ALWAYS be fixed or replaced but God is in control of us. And so I know that he has a wonderful plan for your vehicle/insurance and all those details. You have done all you can by turning it over to him and praying about it. It will all be okay....
Sorry about your cut in hours at the college. What are your new hours? God will provide and so try to enjoy the extra time you get with your family. Will you work through the summer?
Thinking of you and so grateful you all are okay.
    Have a wonderful Monday.
    Blessings upon you,
    Tanya
