Coca doooooodle doooooooo said Mr. Rooster, but Prairie Flower doesn't
understands rooster talk, so she is going to have to go and check out the other animals that live on Prairie Flower Farm! Lets go see
what they might be saying.
News is traveling around Prairie Flower Farm, it is such exciting news!!!! All the animals are running around coca doodle dooing, clucking, meowing cobbling, and squacking!!!!! I will interview the farm animals and maybe they can tell us what is going on.
Okay Mr. Turkey, you must know something, since you are the king of the farm? Nooooooo, you don’t know anything either?
Little ducks? Have you heard anything?
Girls you are all talking at the same time, I can't tell what you are saying!
"If you think we know, we don’t. We are always the last to find out what is going on at Prairie Flower Farm". Okay, I am going to go to the milk house then. . . . . . . . maybe I should ask the little chicks.
I got to the entrance of the milk barn, Blackie the cat and Mr. and Mrs. Puddle Duck were telling me that I had better get in there and get in there fast. . . . . . so I hurried so I could talk to the "Little Chicks"
Little Chicks. . . . . . ? Since you have been in here with Little Red Hen and Little Miss Fluff, would you maybe know what the farm news is? They said to
talk to Little Red Hen.. . . . . .
"Little Red Hen said, "she had been checking on Little Miss Fluff who has been laying on eggs foreeeeeeever, because remember the first batch was eatin by a mean old snake, so Miss Prairie Flower put some new ones under her . . . . . . . and then some special little girls found a duck egg at the lake. . . . . . . . and it was all alone and it needed a momma sooooooo . . . .. . . . . . they give it to you, Miss Prairie Flower. . . . . . . . . and you put it under Little Miss Fluff and............ (she gasped for air), oh, my she was out of breath by this time............., but she finally told me that Little Miss Fluff had been clucking oh so softly". I looked behind the door and awwww. . . . . . . . .
Little Miss Fluff was rearranging her nest. She said, "that if I (Miss Prairie Flower) wanted to pick her up I could, but I would have to be very careful. . . . . . soooooo everyone come close so I can show everyone who follows Prairie Flower Farm blog her new. . . . . .
. . . . . baby duck. He is very very tiny. He weighs only about 2 0zs. His little bill is only a 1/2 long and he stands only 3 1/2 inches tall.
We all love him very much here at Prairie Flower Farm. What do ya think? Now I know what Mr. Rooster was telling his girls. They were talking all at the same time and they were not making any sense. Smile! We love life here at the farm!
We know our little duck is not as important as the special baby who was born a long time ago in the town of Bethlehem who's name was Jesus! But we do know that Jesus knew that many years later, 3 little girls would find a stranded duck egg in the middle of the grass, without a momma duck to sit on it. He would provide a momma chicken who would give it a chance to have life. So much like our Jesus! He is doing miracles all over the world, so His people will have special little stories to tell, but His story is the best.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
This is the most wonderful story of life I have ever heard!
Little duck and his new family are doing great. . . . . . . .
We had to go to the farm store to pick up some little friends for Little Duck. He is living in the farm house of Miss Prairie Flower and her family, so he can grow big and strong. We think he might think he is a chicken, we are not sure. Smile. Hope you all enjoyed our farmyard story.
Little Duck needs a name.
Help us vote on a new name .
Oh, almost forgot to tell you, see the little yellow chicken? His beak was twisted when we first saw him. We asked if she could come home to Prairie Flower Farm and the lady said yes....... she is doing quite well eating and drinking.
If you have some family friends that you think might like our baby duck story, would you mind sending them our way?
Everyone have a good weekend ! Noticing some new followers. Yea!!!!!!!!
I am still working on the little craft I told you I would do today. With all the farmyard excitement, electricity off for an hour, it messed my morning up. I will put it up later today! Thanks for being understanding!
