It is time to get the house fixed up for CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!! I have been so busy with other things sooooooo today is the day! As some of you know we moved some years back over to my sweet man's parent's home where he was born. It has always and will probably always feel like Grandma and Grandpa's house, but the Lord always knows what He is doing with His children. It has been in the family for over 100 years. Lots of history for the Stubbs family so that makes it real special for our family. It needs lots of work and I do bits at a time. Anyway..........when we moved here we had to move alllllll our things from over 30 years and store it in the hay shed.
The girls and I went out to the hay shed to bring in my $25 fireplace mantel........ that I bought a few years ago. It is sooooooo sooooooo pretty!!!! I have wanted to fix it up in our home for so long and so the girls and I went to bring it in. We had so many giggles trying to carry that heavy thing!!!!!! Good to tuck in those memories in my heart for a rainy day!
My sweet friend Alicia gave me this beautiful nativity that has scripture on each figurine some years back. It is so pretty on the top!!!!!!!! Greenery from the excess from our tree ........lights and sprinkled snow all over and glitter. When the lights are on it glows!!!!!
If you click on the picture you can see the scripture on each piece. Makes the Nativity have so much more meaning.
One day we will bend the knee before Jesus..........what a day that will be.........I have started now!
My grand daughter and I placed little candles in the front of my special box. I will take a picture this evening to show what it looks like.
Are you doing anything special in your home that you would like us to come and look at on your blog? You can just tell what you are doing, if you don't have a blog.
Hugs to you all and may the true meaning of CHRISTmas encourage you of when the Lord came as a precious little Baby.......to change the World and save us from sins........
Matt. 1:21!
Linda
Linda,
ReplyDeleteThat's so neat to know that your home has been in the fa mily for over 100 years. That is so precious. Hold on to that as tight as you can :) :) Hold on to Jesus, more, of course...but what a gift you have been blessed with :) :)
I look forward to seeing your special box with the candles in it :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
The Nativity is SO BEAUTIFUL Linda! Happy decorating.
ReplyDeleteEach time I see your nativity and framed verse, I just get all mooshy...it is so lovely together. I really need to find a unique antique frame and do the same...I just keep forgetting. I did go looking for that nativity last year on line...I forget what I found, but Ireally liked it with the verses on it like that. May you have a wonderfully blessed Christmas with all your loved ones near. It'll be very special sharing that first Christmas with V.
ReplyDeleteOh, and as a ps, I did receive my ornament and have it haning on the refrigerator where everyone entering our home will see it. It's adorable and I still do plan on trying to make some for next Christmas to hand out. :)

i love your comment about bending our knees. I am on my knees at night before going to bed - kind of makes me humble before my Father to confess the day's sins and thank Him for the blessings.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I love your blog. Thank you for the encouragement as you share your days and your faith. May God bless you and your family in abundance in 2012.
Beautiful photos....oh and I love the Nativity set with scripture on them...what a neat idea. Hope you can stop over and say hi! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you are living in your husbands family home. Our house is brand new, built by my husband and father-in-law, on land that has been in my mother-in-law's family for generations. They have farmed it, grazed cattle on it and when I met my husband they were growing potatoes on it. We still haven't found a name for the house but are trying to find something that reflects all this 'history'.
ReplyDeleteGood evening.........wow what a busy weekend!!!!! Had 7 of the 10 grandkids out........they kept me hopping for sure. They were either hungry or thirsty........all at the same time!!!!!!!! It was a good time. Baked cookies, bread and homemade pancakes. Very good and taught the 3 granddaughters some new recipes.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, it is very nice and it is great that it has been in the family for 5 genereations. The grandkids will be the 7th.
