What A Pretty Day It Is On The Farm!

Good morning sweet peas!!!!!!!!!

I am moving a little slower this morning. My head, arms, shoulders, elbows, hands........you name it, it aches! Last night we had to go to our Caf Party at the college. Before I left I went out to our son's truck to take some of the things the grandkids left......... I opened the huge door and yup, I flipped on my back! FLAT ON THE SNOWY GROUND!!!!! I had these fluffy boots with nooooooo traction on the bottom. Now I am sure it was a funny site to see........I hurried and got myself back up on my feet, but I think I moved things that I haven't moved for awhile. Now even though I am 59, I am a buzzzzzz. I can't help it, but today I am not quite the buzz I usually am. Ouchy alllllll over! A little prayer sent up would be so appreciated.......so much to do!  

Before we left the farm last night, I took a few pic's. The sun was just going down and was beautiful! The farm looked like it was a glow!


The trees and everything else had ice all over every branch!!!!!!


I was shooting pic's and turned........there was Mr. Turkey!!!!!!!! Scared me half to death! Remember he chased me around Grandpa's truck? He was all fanned out so pretty, but I was careful to keep my distance!


The farmland looked like a winter wonderland!


This tree was a sparkle lit up by the sunset!

We left the farm and when we got to the top of the hill not far from our farm, I took this pic.


This morning the sun came up and all the trees are twinkling. Beautimus!!!!!!!

Cookbook

Quick Brown Bread
1 c. milk
1 T. white- vinegar
2 c. whole-wheat flour (I use 1 whole-wheat and 
1 unbleached white flour)
1 t. salt
1- 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. molasses
1/4 c. shortening, melted and cooled (I use butter)

Combine milk and vinegar in a small bowl; let stand for a few minutes. In a separate large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix thoroughly and set aside. Add remaining ingredients to milk mixture. Add milk mixture to four mixture: stir just enough to barely mix. Pour batter into a well-greased 9"x5" or 3 mini loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center tests clean. Makes one loaf. 


 I made the bread into 3 little mini loaves.

One of my favorite parts to a Gooseberry Patch Cookbook is all the beautiful illustrations and hints. This is such a sweet one!

We have been listening to sermons today on the CHRISTmas Story as we do our work today!  It has been a blessing!

  3. Oh my dear Linda...you are in my prayers. I have done that before..that darn ice is so dangerous..be sure to take some ibprophen to help releive the pain. I just loved all your pictures, the fields remind me of ours here in Iowa.

    I was so happy to meet my new friend at our "tea party"..smile... Thank you so much organizing that for us!

    youchy...I hope you feel better seen. I've slipped on ice before and it's no fun!!! Well, I'm guessing it's a "good" thing it happened now while your on vacation, so you have time to rest!!! I'll be praying for a quick recovery :) :)
